  1. A cop stops a Harley for travelling faster than the posted speed limit, so he asks the biker his name. 'Fred,' he replies. 'Fred what?' the officer asks. 'Just Fred,' the man responds. The officer is in a good mood and thinks he might just give the biker a break and, write him out a warning instead of a ticket. The officer then presses him for the last name. The man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it. The officer thinks that he has a nut case on his hands but plays along with it. 'Tell me, Fred, how did you lose your last name?' The biker replies, 'It's a long story, so stay with me.' I was born Fred Dingaling. I know -- a funny last name. The kids used to tease me all the time, so I stayed to myself, studied hard and got good grades. When I got older, I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship, residency, and finally got my degree, so I was Fred Dingaling, MD. After a while I got bored being a doctor, so I decided to go back to school.. Dentistry was my dream! Got all the way through school, got my degree, so then I was Fred Dingaling, MD, DDS. Got bored doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she gave me VD, so now I was Fred Dingaling, MD, DDS, with VD. Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS. Then I was Fred Dingaling, MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Dingaling with VD. Then the VD took away my Dingaling, so now I am Just Fred.'

  4.   While I would aggressively defend myself from a cager who tried to use his car as a weapon against me, I go to great lengths to not piss them off in the first place. I also don't shoot at Apaches with my 9mm for the exact same reason. It's just not smart to piss off people who have you so outgunned.

  8. Well folks. I'm reminded that all things happen for a reason. I turned down a job offer in Nashville and ended up getting a transfer/promotion with my current company. We will be moving back to Knoxville the end of July! This is where we really wanted to be. The new job is just 10 minutes from my mom's house.   I feel blessed.

  9. I personally run the Midwest Industries Aimpoint T1 specific top cover on my Saiga. The red dot mounts directly to the top half of the handguard. I've had that gun very, very, hot and I've never seen any change in the optic. I would recommend the Ultimak railed tube as well. Several buddies run it and it's solid. 10. Haha! Unlike some women I prefer my husband to be a man. So he carries his all the time! LOL i think the reason he married me was because when he does need someone to bring him back to reality I can do it with a simple convo. Plus I also have a mean side so when he needs someone to be handled, he lets me do the talking. He and I work well together. I'm the mean one, he's the big one! LOL

  11. Jennifer, a manager at   Wal-Mart, had the task of hiring someone to fill a job opening. After sorting through a stack of resumes she found four people who were equally qualified. Jennifer decided to call the four in and ask them only one question. Their answer would determine which of them would get the job. The day came and as the four sat around the conference room table, Jennifer asked, 'What is the fastest thing you know of?' The first man replied, 'A THOUGHT.' It just pops into your head. There's no warning. 'That's very good!' replied Jennifer. 'And, now you sir?', she asked the second man. 'Hmmm...let me see 'A blink! It comes and goes and you don't know that it ever happened. A BLINK is the fastest thing I know of.' 'Excellent!' said Jennifer. 'The blink of an eye, that's a very popular cliché for speed.' She then turned to the third man, who was contemplating his reply. 'Well, out at my dad's ranch, you step out of the house and on the wall there's a light switch. When you flip that switch, way out across the pasture the light on the barn comes on in less than an instant. 'Yep, TURNING ON A LIGHT is the fastest thing I can think of'. Jennifer was very impressed with the third answer and thought she had found her man. 'It’s hard to beat the speed of light,' she said. Turning to BUBBA, the fourth and final man, Jennifer posed the same question. Old Bubba replied, 'After hearing the previous three answers, it's obvious to me that the fastest thing known is DIARRHEA.' 'WHAT!?' said Jennifer, stunned by the response. 'Oh sure', said BUBBA. 'You see, the other day I wasn't feeling so good, and I ran for the bathroom, but before I could THINK, BLINK, or TURN ON THE LIGHT, I had already shit my pants.' BUBBA is now the new greeter at a Wal-Mart near you! You probably will think of this every time you enter a Wal-Mart from now on!

  12. I have  a deputy sheriff friend who doesn't even use a conversion barrel, he just drops a 34 OEM barrel into his 35 and goes to town.  I asked him about this one time and he told me for shooting steel the accuracy and reliability is just fine.  I think I would go for the conversion barrel regardless.

  13. From the article:" As Sam filtered to the front of traffic at a stop light," I take that to mean he was going in between cars and not in a lane of his own, to get to the front, at the stop light. Not too smart, or too legal. Then he is going to drop the F word on the guy driving 2 tons of BMW, while he is sitting on 800 pounds of scooter. Again, not too smart.  I am in no way saying that the driver of the cage had a right to hit the guy on the bike. I hope they put him in jail and throw away the key. But, Sam doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb on the string, either. Like peejman said "That didn't work out quite so well".

  14. Just joined to forum today. I transplanted to the middle Tennessee area about 10 years ago. My interests are my family, improving my firearms handling and having a good time. Interested in learning more about the shooting sports so if you see a new guy out at a match say howdy.

  18. I stopped by there today for just a quick look around and was impressed by the look, layout, floor space, and the amount of guns and accessories.  Black rifles and pistols galore.     I didn't compare many prices, but the ones I did look at appeared to be in the ballpark compared to other shops.   Once they get the range up, I think this has the makings of a good shop as long as they treat people right.

  23.   I agree with that and can see your point but let me throw out a hypothetical situation.    Now I understand this won't be totally applicable to lane splitting, but there is a point to my story.       Say you are in a crowd of folks that all walk up at the same time, and a line starts forming to enter some type of event.    Say that there is no seating at this event or any advantage to the place/number you are in line once you enter this event.    You are also guaranteed entry into the event.    For this scenario, you are 37th place in a line of 50.   Say person number 48 decides he wants to walk up to the front of the line and stand within the first five spots in line.    What is your initial reaction to guy #48 as he walks up to the front of the line?       For me, I still wouldn't like what he did even though in the grand scheme of things, it didn't harm me in this case.

  25.     80k seems early for struts to go, but it depends heavily on how it was driven.  Frequent gravel roads or unbalanced tires will kill them in short order.   $1100 seems a little high to me, but all the stuff adds up quick.  Get an itemized quote and do a little reality check.

  26.   They'll probably do fine with them though. The attraction of Mericun made and backed up by PSA and all. Unless lack of an optic mount proves to be an Achilles Heel for sales. They'll probably add some railed top cover as an add on, generally a so-so solution,  but at that price point should have had a side mount base on it already IMNSHO.   - OS

  27.   Yeah, I think Midsummer Night is right.  I knew it was something to do with Midnight (MIDsummer NIGHT).   There is also a brand of candles called 'Woodwick' that, as the name implies, uses wooden 'wicks'.  They are sort of 'x' shaped in cross section and burn really well.  The cool thing about them is that the wooden wick pops and cracks sort of like a wood fire while the candle burns.  I really like this scent:   http://www.amazon.com/Woodwick-Mini-Redwood-Candle-3-4oz/dp/B001RDNOC0/ref=sr_1_6?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1433341788&sr=1-6&keywords=woodwick+candles+redwood   I have a friend (actually my ex-sister in law) who works at Cracker Barrel in the gift shop part.  They sell Woodwick candles and that is how I first found out about them - she got me one of the Redwood candles as a gift a couple of years ago because she knew I would like that scent.

  31. Ditto. Bought a regular M&P 9 barrel used from a forum member and threw it in my M&P40. Heck, it even worked with the 40 mags if I kept it under around 10-11rds in the mags at a time. Any more than that and it would have feeding problems. I eventually got a 9 mag and it's been flawless since.

Most great deals are in the East Tn area . Some are in Middle Tn area . and in West Tn there is hardly any activity on here that I know of except for a few good members . No offense to West Tn but I hardly hear from or see anyone in West Tn except a few in the Memphis area . But all in all it's mostly in East Tn that have the good stuff and prices .

  38. Reagan won the cold war and indirectly caused the fall of the Soviet Union. The Soviets overspent on weapons to the point that their entire economy collapsed. Their leaders' overspending on the military was a direct response to Reagan's policies. Had he sought to appease the Soviet Union, they would have done what Iran is doing now.... stalling and building their forces at a more sustainable pace.   Today, our government is doing exactly the opposite of Reagan. We're overspending on nonproductive social programs and compromising with Iran on nuclear weapons.

  40. Today was a good day my friends! I have officially added a Arsenal SGL 21-61 to the collection. She was sourced locally via Armslist for $1.2K. In addition to the rifle, I recieved 400 rounds of ammunition, 8 magazines, + a magazine chest pouch. All I am lacking at this point are Bulgarian Circle 10 magazines + to put her through her paces at the range! She will compliment my Arsenal SLR-107FR when I pull her out of layaway at the end of the month. Lock + Load my friends!

  44. Reminds me of a line I've used a couple of times when someone wanted to make comments while I was riding "You don't know me and I'm wearing a helmet, you want to think about that?"    BTW:  If you are going to talk trash while wearing a motorcycle helmet keep the visor down and your chin tucked so that your chin bar doesn't become a hand hold for your adversary.

I'd gladly give it to him knowing full well the consequences that come with my actions and I wouldn't for a second ask forgiveness for dishing out what was so desperately needed. In fact, I'd request the key to the city.

  48. Same here. So far, I've yet to find a split 45acp case. Perhaps they last forever? Don't sweat it. A case split at the mouth will not damage you or your gun.   I don't recall how much reloading experience you have, but I'll share with you and everyone else a couple of things I've learned about reloading auto pistol cartridges.   1)Bell the mouth of the case after resizing only enough so the bullet will start easily. The bell should be barely visible when looking at it.   2)When seating the bullet, crimp the case only enough to remove the bell, as the case headspaces on the mouth.   3)An easy trick to adjust your bullet seater die:  a) put a factory round with a similar bullet in the shellholder of your press.                                                                             b) Back the bullet seater nearly all the way out of the die, and screw the die into the press a bit.                                                                             c) Pull the handle all the way down so the factory round is as far in the die body as it will go.                                                                             d) Screw the die into the press until you begin to feel resistance, and lock it in place. This will provide the same crimp as factory.                                                                              e) Screw the bullet seater into the die until it stops. At this point, you should be adjusted to where your press will produce a round with the same dimensions as factory stuff. This means it should function reliably.         Sorry if everyone but me knew this. I've seen a lot of threads here and elsewhere where people were fussing over how much to crimp and case overall length.

They are also sending a Doctor and Nurse to flly all the way to Nashville, Then I may have to be taken straight to Vanderbilt to see my new Cardiologist,   The nice thing about this is that my company spares no expense when it comes to my health and Happily they are picking up the tab for everything this may turn into   I am truly Blessed,
