  3. It's made from 1/8" thick 1095 carbon steel and the blade is just over 4 1/4" with an OAL of 9 1/4". It has jimping on the spine and Black MOP Kirinite handles. That's right...they call it black but it's more silver than black to me. It has an unsharpened swedge and is nice and light and sharp as a razor. It has two tone blue and white liners, lanyard hole and includes the sheath if anyone is interested. The design in the blade is permanently etched into it. It's not like lazer etching on some blades where when you hit it with a sanding pad it will come right off. 7. I kinda do what Raoul does, I just have to be cautious of any shards, I have noticed that they draw the dogs attention, not so sure that is a good thing though, and of course it runs everyone off cept one of my grandsons who sits there and laughs with me.

  8. Thanks! They're a lot prettier as a freezer full of sausages! :D Unfortunately I only managed the 2 over the weekend (both on Friday night & only 10 minutes apart) but both ran well north of 150 pounds. I'm not sure exactly their weights, but I do know that boning them both out & packing the meat 2 miles back to the truck in one go, left me wobbly kneed & took 4½ hours! Damn fine pack training for later in the year though! The little 65gn Sierra Gameking that I recovered from the larger pig performed awesomely. 95% weight retention with total jacket separation. Both were neck shots, 1 at 135yds (measured) & the other at 90 paces (80 ish yds) & both hogs dropped on the spot.

  9. That seems to always be the case. East Tennessee guys do seem to have a LOT of good stuff to sell.

  10.    From other  members on here . There are always great members on here that live where you are and they always seem to have what I'm looking for and at good prices. Most great deals are in the East Tn area . Some are in Middle Tn area . and in West Tn there is hardly any activity on here that I know of except for a few good members . No offense to West Tn but I hardly hear from or see anyone in West Tn except a few in the Memphis area . But all in all it's mostly in East Tn that have the good stuff and prices .

  11.   Yes, the occasional long run for a gun is fun. But at some point, I got tired of all the driving and now have decided it's just not worth it.   For me, a trip to Knoxville or to Memphis is a real tiring thing. After the first hour, if that long these days, my legs and feet start aching, and I start questioning why I do this. The trip usually will cost me 50 for fuel, 10 for food and drink, if I'm lucky, and all day shot.   And I've done several of these. Every time I say not again.   So if I put all this together, I seem to think that's worth at least 100 of time and money.   It's got to be a great deal and something I just can't do without before I do this again.   You believe me...don't you?

  14.   I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 76).    We decided to grab a bite at the food court.    I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.    The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green,   red,  Orange , and blue.   My dad kept staring at her.   The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time..   When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked: "What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"   Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response;    I knew he would have a good one!   In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid .... "Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if You might be my kid."

  15. I am with Maroon, although I can say there is probably nothing that gets me more worked up than abuse to animals, but dogs specifically.  It was a very good video, but as with most of the like videos, aspca, etc, I have to turn the channel because I just can't stand to watch it.  I know what they are trying to get across, but I just get too worked up.   I will say, that is one of my favorite things about this board and why I feel like TGO is so different from the few other boards I am on, and that is because we have a very outspoken group of dog/animal lovers.

  16. 2015 is officially the year of the AK for me. This year alone I have purchased two Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR 10's, a 2013 production Century (CAI) Romanian WASR 10, Century (CAI) Romanian RPK AES10B, + a Yugoslavian N-PAP DF. I have another Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR10 + a Century (CAI) Romanian Draco AK pistol en route to my FFL as I write this. As you can see, I am a fan of the weapon system through + through. At the present moment, I am debating the purchase of a Arsenal SLR107FR but I am stuck on if I should pick the variant with plum furniture or all black. Decisions, decisions! Without further ado, I present to you my humble selection of AK's. 18. So, I recently went on a golf trip with a bunch of buddies to Orlando, FL. While we were there, I insisted on taking a trip to Randall Made Knives to visit the shop and museum. Wow!! Totally impressed. Of course, I have always been a fan of these knives but it was really nice to visit the place. The museum was awesome. Thousands of knives on display...including Bill Scagel knives. For those who know the story, it was a Scagel knife that started Bo Randall on the trek to build the best possible knife. There are letters from Ronald Reagan during WWII thanking Bo for the knife sent to him. I was in awe. While there, they were pulling out some knives for sale to the general public. Evidently, they have situations where the original orderer of the knife is no longer available to receive delivery (eg., died, moved, etc.) Considering it takes Randall Made nearly 5 years to deliver a knife, this isn't surprising. Needless to say, I bought a couple. Randall Made Sign: Randall Made (I think this was Bo's home): The Museum: Trailblazer with copper bolster: Hunter Model:

  19. I have a bunch of magazines, not gun but publications, that I am needing to send out. I would prefer to send them to someone overseas rather than toss them out. I know when I was over there most magazines were years old.   So if anyone has the address for someone that is deployed, and will be for a little while longer, please PM me their address.   Thanks

  21. So I've been really itching to complete an upper instead of buying one already built. I finally got a chance to do it once I got all the parts and tools. I'm very happy to have finally done it, but I learned one thing for sure "I HATE ROLL PINS!". Well, the one for the gas tube anyway! I think the next one will be easier after some reading and talking to friends (Thanks LukeE) about tips. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Spikes Punisher lower PSA upper receiver w/Punisher ejection port cover PSA lower build kit BCM Large charging handle (I love it, have several mediums and wanted to try this size. Not as "in the way" as I thought it might be) Anderson Arms 16" 5.56 M4 barrel UTG Pro slim 15" handguard (This thing is well made for a $100 handguard!) Troy Battlesights Birdcage flash hider from spare parts bin Magpul trigger guard, grip, and MOE stock LBE M16 bolt carrier group This picture didn't take very well, but was trying to show off the finished upper and handguard because I was so proud to finish it!

  23. Gallatin Gun Club will host an induction to IDPA shooting on Saturday June 13th, 9:00AM - 4:00PM. 5 stages will be set up to cover most aspects of IDPA shooting. No formal match will be held and no scoring. This is a day of instruction and practice. Score sheets will be on hand if you feel the need. Each bay will have qualified instructors and range officers to guide and help you. The number of folks waiting will determine how much you can shoot ( no bay hogging).  Targets and stands are provided in range fees.    I will be in bay one and will have set ups for USPSA and 3-gun.  Their will be a limited number of loaner guns on hand. This is a great chance for new and young shooters. All IDPA safety rules will be enforced. The range will be cold except on the firing line under range officer control.  This will be a bargain at $15 per person for all day. Families can get the rest of the clan in at $10 per head.   I will have instructors in shotgun and rifle on hand after noon. So bring what you have.   Robert Standley,  NRA Pistol Instructor, IDPA Safety Officer Instructor and CRO, USPSA Chief Range Officer. robert.standley08@comcast.net For more information Range is on TVA property at 1499 Steam Plant Rd.

  26. I am thinking, the blade just like the TGO Runts in two tone with the TGO 3 bullet holes, The punisher logo (just like my special run was) and a black lip Mother of pearl Push button would do the trick and if you all would like a cool lanyard could be included

  28. Same ole tune, it's hot and my shirt rides up....questions get asked, I piss someone off.   Lady says why on earth are you carrying a gun?  I tell her:  See that peace symbol on the back or your Subaru?  [in and amongst the 75 other stickers!]  Well, I like peace too!  I love peace.  Only problem is, no lasting peace is made among men, out of love.  ONLY respect.  Only when evil respects you strength of will and arm, will it consider peaceful resolutions.  Only in the face of their own death, do the hearts of evil men consider peace.  Turning the other cheek, passive resistance & arms wide open will accomplish precisely squat.     That's HORRIBLE!  I don't believe that and won't raise my family like that.   Failure to accept the truth doesn't make it any less true.  When evil hits you in the face and you "refuse to stoop to that level" in response....it will be much obliged for making it so easy.  You can contemplate this as you bleed out on the ground while they take everything you've worked hard for.           Now, I'm not sure why, but she didn't have anything to say after that.  The look on her face when I told her to have a wonderful rest of the day, was priceless.     From a business standpoint, I should probably stop telling people stuff like this, but I won't.  It's too much fun and damn if I ain't gettin' pretty good at it.  I can make it through the hole thing without laughing at them now!

  34. This is a GREAT book!   One of the best-kept secrets in America is how often and how effectively ordinary citizens defend themselves with firearms against criminal attack or criminal threat. Criminology professor Gary Kleck of Florida State University estimates that each year about 2.5 million ordinary people in the United States use firearms in confrontations with criminals. In the most cases, a shot is not fired and the incident is not reported to police. Along with the bias of the mainstream media against portraying guns in a positive light, this results in these incidents occurring below the public's radar. The second edition of this comprehensive look at self-defense with firearms lifts the veil by recounting some of these incidents, from warding off a burglar in the home to coming to the aid of a police officer in jeopardy. Each incident is put into context with other self-defense actions and features descriptions of ordinary citizens to determine why they did what they did. The stories are rounded out by suggestions, often from the participants themselves, about what they might have done differently. The book has been updated with several newer and more timely stories.   The title - Thank God I Had a Gun By - Chris Bird

  41. 2 things for me.   1. I love the fact that the red dress picture is in a Porsche that was a gift from Kris. At almost $200k for the car, the dress and IMHO she looks killer. Nothing like kicking in KJ's face for being a huge $#&% and lying through interviews that she had no clue!   2. The bewb's are better than most Hollywood starlet's and I'd rock a set like that any day (epecially at 65!). Plus she looks like Jessica Lange and who doesn't love crazy?   Just saying, it's been done pretty nice looking for what's been done. My poor husband on the other hand is way less enthusiastic about this than I am. I have to go make Baked Ziti and try to cheer him up now.

Just food for thought, but aside from being a pushover maybe he had at least some of the right idea in what I can only imagine was a "do as little as possible" administration.    Hell  I wish we could have 4-8 years of someone doing as little as possible now, if only so we can catch up to where we are.
