I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 76). We decided to grab a bite at the food court. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green, red, Orange , and blue. My dad kept staring at her. The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time.. When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked: "What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?" Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response; I knew he would have a good one! In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid .... "Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if You might be my kid."12 points

Well...not sure I'd call Glock perfection, but I am quite fond of them. Have had several, ahem...many would be closer to truth I guess, and still have a few of them left. Are they great shooting guns and very serviceable tools? Yes. Definitely. But perfection? IMHO, no. That was achieved with the S&W Model 19. OK...I'm ducking for cover now.7 points

Bill and Hillary are at a Yankees home game, sitting in the first row, with the Secret Service people directly behind them. One of the Secret Service guys leans forward and whispers something to Bill. At first, Clinton stares at the guy, looks at Hillary, looks back at the agent, and shakes his head "no". The agent then says, "Mr. President, it was a unanimous request of the entire team, from the owner of the team to the bat boy." Bill hesitates...but begins to change his mind when the agent tells him the fans would love it! Bill shrugs his shoulders and says, "Ho-Kay! If that is what the people want. C'mere Hilly baby..." With that, Bill gets up, grabs Hillary by her collar and the seat of her pants, lifts her up, and tosses her right over the wall onto the field. She gets up kicking, swearing, screaming, "Bill you "!$#@&!". The crowd goes absolutely wild. Fans are jumping up & down, cheering, hooting and hollering, and high-fiving. Bill is bowing, smiling and waving to the crowd. He leans over to the agent and says, "How about that; I would have never believed how much everyone would enjoy that!" Noticing the agent has gone totally pale, he asks what is wrong. The agent replies, "Sir, I said they want you to throw out the first "pitch .”5 points

This thread seems extremely useless. Closing it down and making note that so far I'm not seeing much firearms related content from the OP, but rather content intended to incite discord. Not a good thing for me to be making note of. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk5 points

Went to the gun store and walked out with a new Gen 4 Glock 19. Put close to 200 rounds through it immediately at the range and I have to say I like it way more than I thought I would. Only thing to do now is make a holster and magazine pouches and I'll be set to rock and roll with it. It's a Glock, we all know what they look like but pictures will be coming later.4 points

To anyone who abuses, neglects or mistreats an animal; I hope you die in a slow burning house fire. Anyone who would just abandon an animal like that is lower than human. I would have more respect for [not much] a person who just put a bullet in the dog's head as opposed to abandoning it to the elements and predators. My current companion was a rescue. He's now 13, eat up with cancer and living on borrowed time. He also has hip dysplasia and has difficulty getting around. He was beaten and starved when I got him. He's been with me 12 years now, and I've had dogs before him, but he's REALLY taught me the definition of what a friend is. I think more of him than most humans I meet. Now he spends most of his days in bed. I bought him a baby crib mattress and I keep it in the shop with me so we can hang out all day, everyday. He usually just watches me trim brass in between customers. LOL. He's on a two different pain meds now and I don't expect him to last much longer. He's the best friend I've ever had. Sorry for the thread drift.4 points

A Lonely Man on a Beach A man washed up on a beach after a shipwreck. Only a sheep and a sheepdog were washed-up with him. After looking around, he realized that they were stranded on a deserted island. After being there awhile, he got into the habit of taking his two animal companions to the beach every evening to watch the sunset. One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle - a perfect night for romance. As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely man. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it. The sheepdog, ever-protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep. After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling. A few weeks passed-by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was Hillary Clinton. That evening, the man brought Hillary to the evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening - red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze - perfect for a night of romance. Pretty soon, the man started to get those feelings again. He fought the urges as long as he could but he finally gave-in and leaned over to Hillary and told her he hadn't had sex for months. Hillary batted her eyelashes and asked if there was anything she could do for him. He said, 'Take the dog for a walk .'3 points

huge ass rainbow in the southern sky as the sun set. There were people pulling off the interstate ( not very smart) to take pics of it, the bridge near the store had several cars stopped with people taking pics. One selfie pic I saw being taken in our lot made me LOL. Two gay dudes getting a selfie (took several tries before they were happy) with the rainbow in the background. I am guessing it was on FB before they pulled away. ( almost made the "oops" of saying "before they pulled out" ;) )2 points

2 things for me. 1. I love the fact that the red dress picture is in a Porsche that was a gift from Kris. At almost $200k for the car, the dress and IMHO she looks killer. Nothing like kicking in KJ's face for being a huge $#&% and lying through interviews that she had no clue! 2. The bewb's are better than most Hollywood starlet's and I'd rock a set like that any day (epecially at 65!). Plus she looks like Jessica Lange and who doesn't love crazy? Just saying, it's been done pretty nice looking for what's been done. My poor husband on the other hand is way less enthusiastic about this than I am. I have to go make Baked Ziti and try to cheer him up now.               :rofl:2 points

So, some of you saw my feeble attempt at getting some video with a cheap quadcopter I bought to play with. My flying wasn't pretty, but the video wasn't terrible (meaning quality of image) considering the cost. However, it did teach me one thing, and that is simply, Quad's are awesome. Fast forward a month and my lack of self control has me a new quad that is simply amazing. This is only my second attempt at making a video by editing video segments and adding audio, but I think it turned out pretty well. This quad has a camera attached that will shoot in 4k and take 12MB pictures. It is also night and day easier to fly. A couple of things I learned along the way for anyone interested. While cheap quad's are great for learning, the are very difficult to fly in a steady fashion. You will get better with them, but they will never allow you to get great video. You can get a cheap quad for $60 or less that will let you learn the basics, but you will quickly want to upgrade after you start playing with them. There is some pretty amazing technology out there now. I purchased the latest DJI Phantom 3 which is the quad you see them show a lot on TV. It's kind of like the AR/Glock of the Quad world. When you hear of an accident with a quad, no matter what one it was, they show a picture of a Phantom. If anyone is interested in learning a bit more, I would be glad to discuss it. First, a pic of the quad. A pic from about 400ft above my friends house. A pic of the Natchez Parkway Bridge And last, the video I did. Not terrible for my third flight and 2nd video ever made. It was all filmed this morning. https://youtu.be/ACswd_D1ofc2 points

I am with Maroon, although I can say there is probably nothing that gets me more worked up than abuse to animals, but dogs specifically. It was a very good video, but as with most of the like videos, aspca, etc, I have to turn the channel because I just can't stand to watch it. I know what they are trying to get across, but I just get too worked up. I will say, that is one of my favorite things about this board and why I feel like TGO is so different from the few other boards I am on, and that is because we have a very outspoken group of dog/animal lovers.2 points

Man that's a powerful video. Very few subjects get me all choked up but the loss as well as the abuse of animals is almost at the top. Thanks for posting.2 points

A farmer gets into his truck and drives to his neighbors house. Knocks on the door and a young man about 9 years comes to the door. Can I help you asks the boy is your daddy home asks the farmer. No sir says the boy he went into town. Well is your momma home asks the farmer. No sir she went with dad. How about your older brother Howard? No sir he went with them to town. The farmer stands there mumbling to himself. The boy says can I help you, I know where all the tools are kept if you need to borrow one. The farmer says no that his brother Howard had got his daughter Pearly Mae knocked up. The little boy thought for a little bit. Well I guess you'll have to talk to dad then. But if it helps any he gets $50.00 for the bull and $25.00 for the hog but I'm not sure what he charges for Howard. :rofl:2 points

Not sure what part of Clinton you live in but the east side going out towards I75 has some underground wet springs. Ask me how I know???? I would make my post holes wider at the bottom when digging and put 6" of concrete in the bottom and let the set for a day before putting posts on then concrete around them. I do a lot of building and am close, if you need any help let me know, I could spare a few hours.2 points

All our dogs and cats have come to us. Over the 25 years we have lives in this house (our first house) dogs and cats have found their way to the place. Now a few were found at diff places in our travels but all "found" us. I have lost count as far as how many, we now have 7 dogs and 14 cats. Oldest dog is 11 and oldest cat is 14, Megan the cat is deaf and blind in one eye, she stays inside with us.2 points

I debated on whether to post this or not, but here goes. This is not to imply that folks on here act irresponsibly but rather offer up an option to counteract those that do. The video may not make sense until the end so be sure to watch all of it. [media]https://youtu.be/JMs7dkdO4YY[media] Saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog the world will be forever changed. My wife and I help foster rescued dogs and it has been a joy to help dogs find a new home. Along the way three have found a permanent home with us. :) Don't think you can only get "older" dogs through a rescue group. Right now we are fostering a rescued female that was pregnant until her 3 pups get adopted. The last 8 weeks have been an amazing journey from seeing their birth until now. We are guessing they will be ready to adopt in about another week since they were so small at birth. (Mom only weighs about 8 lbs.) Here's a photo of them several weeks ago. So in closing, please consider adopting a rescued dog that needs a second chance at life. :) Here's the rescue group we volunteer with. http://proverbs1210rescue.org1 point

Thank you Red for making me feel normal! We have 7 dogs too. By the end of the week we will also have chickens, somewhere around 12-16! All of ours are rescues except for 2 strays. There's no better way to do it. Also, I have heard really great things about Proverbs! Glad to read a recommendation also! When we add on, we'll know where to look. And if Monkey reads that, he'll have a heart attack!!1 point

Our last two have been rescues. Each of them was around a year old when we got them. Our last was with us for 16 years and the one now has been with us for 14 years. The longevity in dogs that we've been blessed with has made me come to the conclusion that this will be our last. The last thing I want is to have a loving pet outlive me and have to go back to a shelter. If I find an older dog that needs a home, I might change my mind.1 point

Thanks for posting this. My wife and I wholeheartedly agree with it. Our current companion and owner, Molly, came from the Nashville Humane Society after being dumped there. She is the most loving little 40 lb lap dog you can imagine.1 point

Really? You want to hide behind a code of conduct? I’m not a moderator, don’t like to see threads locked, and didn’t sleep at a Holiday Inn last night, but I’m pretty sure that reopening a topic that has been locked and calling someone a mental case because you don’t like their comments is also a violation. This didn’t turn into a cop bashing thread as you hoped, but went another direction. There are more Patriots here than cops so good luck with the results. You reopened this topic for drama; you got it. I don’t think anyone has said anything yet to require the locking of this thread. As David once said he tends to let people look like fools rather than close a thread; that is what is happening right now.1 point

To be fair, development of any new tech is expensive unless someone just has a genius moment out of the blue, which does happen but its rare. It took a while and was expensive to develop the less efficient versions too, for most stuff. The system is broken, but its not because of R&D costs, its because untenable and incomplete technologies are pushed into the market rather than allowed to stand on their own. Take the toxic light bulbs... LED was clearly the way to go, but they rushed to make the stupid toxic twisty ones. Same for ethanol ... we can make a better fuel other ways (propane/butane/methane/etc can run an engine, and it burns clean) but they pushed this crap on us, ruined countless engines, drove up the price of corn/beef/chicken/everything, and still failed to lower the cost of gas or significantly help the problems, and it does not burn all that cleanly to boot. Let me preach on it... if someone could make a fuel that cost $1/gallon equivalent without costing anything to make it work in existing cars and burned clean, it would be praised by everyone, even the die-hards here. Such a miracle product would *SELL ITSELF* on the market at a profit *WITHOUT LAWS TO FORCE USE OF IT or PRESSURE TO USE IT*. That is how the system is supposed to work -- someone makes something *that is actually better* and it becomes profitable/great/wonderful/something for both the inventor/producer and the consumers. The problem with the system is, again, the pressure / laws/ BS that forces half-baked ideas on the public before they are actually usable -- which is a combination of government muckery and social pressure (leading to companies to buckle towards making/selling/using the immature tech). Agree about life cycle. The prius just turned 10 years old and has not yet had to have its battery replaced but its "due in the near future" and they check it a couple times a year to see if it needs it yet. Making them is indeed a nasty process, batteries have always been nasty. Probably true about the yard tools. /shrug again to me its pure economics. If you can hand me something that saves me real money while working as good or better, I will buy/use it. If not, stuff it.1 point

I know a fair number of gay folks, and you're right. We're not all flaming liberals, in fact a lot of us just want to live our lives, protect our families, and be left alone the same as anyone else. I've introduced a number of gay friends to firearms and shooting because as they say, "armed gays don't get bashed". We're just like everyone else. The right has traditionally bet on the hard line traditionalists to be a larger number of voters than right leaning gay folks, and by the numbers they're right. The most optimistic estimates say that gay/ trans people make up 10-14% of the US population, and some surveys are as low as 2-3%. When you break that group down further into active voters, then conservative active voters, the right has had a much larger well to tap by toeing the traditionalist line. They can bark about how 'the gays' are trying to destroy marriage and hate Jesus, and it's easy to motivate everyone that claims to be a Christian to the polls because they think Jesus may not love them as much if they extend some grace to the evil gays. The left is just as bad- they scream about how the right is just out to get gay people at all costs, and they make it sound like we're about to be the victims of some type of horrible ethnic cleansing which drives every Subaru driving, tree hugging, granola munching liberal gay or not out to the polls to 'protect' us poor, stupid queers that can't stand up for ourselves. It's insulting, but this is the place modern gay people find themselves. We're a convenient political football that neither party really wants to take care of, they're both too busy kicking us back and forth to pump up their own fans.1 point
