  1.   I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 76).    We decided to grab a bite at the food court.    I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.    The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green,   red,  Orange , and blue.   My dad kept staring at her.   The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time..   When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked: "What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"   Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response;    I knew he would have a good one!   In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid .... "Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if You might be my kid."

  2. Well...not sure I'd call Glock perfection, but I am quite fond of them. Have had several, ahem...many would be closer to truth I guess, and still have a few of them left. Are they great shooting guns and very serviceable tools? Yes. Definitely. But perfection? IMHO, no. That was achieved with the S&W Model 19. OK...I'm ducking for cover now.

  4. Bill and Hillary are at a Yankees home game, sitting in the first row, with the Secret Service people directly behind them.   One of the Secret Service guys leans forward and whispers something to Bill. At first, Clinton stares at the guy, looks at Hillary, looks back at the agent, and shakes his head "no". The agent then says, "Mr. President, it was a unanimous request of the entire team, from the owner of the team to the bat boy."   Bill hesitates...but begins to change his mind when the agent tells him the fans would love it! Bill shrugs his shoulders and says, "Ho-Kay! If that is what the people want. C'mere Hilly baby..." With that, Bill gets up, grabs Hillary by her collar and the seat of her pants, lifts her up, and tosses her right over the wall onto the field.   She gets up kicking, swearing, screaming, "Bill you   "!$#@&!". The crowd goes absolutely wild. Fans are jumping up & down, cheering, hooting and hollering, and high-fiving. Bill is bowing, smiling and waving to the crowd.   He leans over to the agent and says, "How about that; I would have never believed how much everyone would enjoy that!" Noticing the agent has gone totally pale, he asks what is wrong. The agent replies,   "Sir, I said they want you to throw out the first "pitch .”

  5. This thread seems extremely useless. Closing it down and making note that so far I'm not seeing much firearms related content from the OP, but rather content intended to incite discord. Not a good thing for me to be making note of. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk

  6. Went to the gun store and walked out with a new Gen 4 Glock 19. Put close to 200 rounds through it immediately at the range and I have to say I like it way more than I thought I would. Only thing to do now is make a holster and magazine pouches and I'll be set to rock and roll with it. It's a Glock, we all know what they look like but pictures will be coming later.

  7. To anyone who abuses, neglects or mistreats an animal; I hope you die in a slow burning house fire. Anyone who would just abandon an animal like that is lower than human. I would have more respect for [not much] a person who just put a bullet in the dog's head as opposed to abandoning it to the elements and predators. My current companion was a rescue. He's now 13, eat up with cancer and living on borrowed time. He also has hip dysplasia and has difficulty getting around. He was beaten and starved when I got him. He's been with me 12 years now, and I've had dogs before him, but he's REALLY taught me the definition of what a friend is. I think more of him than most humans I meet. Now he spends most of his days in bed. I bought him a baby crib mattress and I keep it in the shop with me so we can hang out all day, everyday. He usually just watches me trim brass in between customers. LOL. He's on a two different pain meds now and I don't expect him to last much longer. He's the best friend I've ever had. Sorry for the thread drift.

  10. A Lonely Man on a Beach   A man washed up on a beach after a shipwreck. Only a sheep and a sheepdog were washed-up with him. After looking around, he realized that they were stranded on a deserted island. After being there awhile, he got into the habit of taking his two animal companions to the beach every evening to watch the sunset.   One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle - a perfect night for romance.   As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely man. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it.   The sheepdog, ever-protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep. After that, the three of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling.   A few weeks passed-by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck. The only survivor was Hillary Clinton. That evening, the man brought Hillary to the evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening - red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze - perfect for a night of romance.   Pretty soon, the man started to get those feelings again. He fought the urges as long as he could but he finally gave-in and leaned over to Hillary and told her he hadn't had sex for months.   Hillary batted her eyelashes and asked if there was anything she could do for him.             He said, 'Take the dog for a walk .'

  15. huge ass rainbow in the southern sky as the sun set.     There were people pulling off the interstate (  not very smart) to take pics of it, the bridge near the store had several cars stopped with people taking pics.   One selfie pic I saw being taken in our lot made me LOL.   Two gay dudes getting a selfie (took several tries before they were happy) with the rainbow in the background. I am guessing it was on FB before they pulled away.  ( almost made the "oops" of saying "before they pulled out"  ;)  )

  17. 2 things for me.   1. I love the fact that the red dress picture is in a Porsche that was a gift from Kris. At almost $200k for the car, the dress and IMHO she looks killer. Nothing like kicking in KJ's face for being a huge $#&% and lying through interviews that she had no clue!   2. The bewb's are better than most Hollywood starlet's and I'd rock a set like that any day (epecially at 65!). Plus she looks like Jessica Lange and who doesn't love crazy?   Just saying, it's been done pretty nice looking for what's been done. My poor husband on the other hand is way less enthusiastic about this than I am. I have to go make Baked Ziti and try to cheer him up now.

  20. So, some of you saw my feeble attempt at getting some video with a cheap quadcopter I bought to play with. My flying wasn't pretty, but the video wasn't terrible (meaning quality of image) considering the cost. However, it did teach me one thing, and that is simply, Quad's are awesome. Fast forward a month and my lack of self control has me a new quad that is simply amazing. This is only my second attempt at making a video by editing video segments and adding audio, but I think it turned out pretty well. This quad has a camera attached that will shoot in 4k and take 12MB pictures. It is also night and day easier to fly. A couple of things I learned along the way for anyone interested. While cheap quad's are great for learning, the are very difficult to fly in a steady fashion. You will get better with them, but they will never allow you to get great video. You can get a cheap quad for $60 or less that will let you learn the basics, but you will quickly want to upgrade after you start playing with them. There is some pretty amazing technology out there now. I purchased the latest DJI Phantom 3 which is the quad you see them show a lot on TV. It's kind of like the AR/Glock of the Quad world. When you hear of an accident with a quad, no matter what one it was, they show a picture of a Phantom. If anyone is interested in learning a bit more, I would be glad to discuss it. First, a pic of the quad. A pic from about 400ft above my friends house. A pic of the Natchez Parkway Bridge And last, the video I did. Not terrible for my third flight and 2nd video ever made. It was all filmed this morning. https://youtu.be/ACswd_D1ofc

  21. I am with Maroon, although I can say there is probably nothing that gets me more worked up than abuse to animals, but dogs specifically.  It was a very good video, but as with most of the like videos, aspca, etc, I have to turn the channel because I just can't stand to watch it.  I know what they are trying to get across, but I just get too worked up.   I will say, that is one of my favorite things about this board and why I feel like TGO is so different from the few other boards I am on, and that is because we have a very outspoken group of dog/animal lovers.

  24. A farmer gets into his truck and drives to his neighbors house. Knocks on the door and a young man about 9 years comes to the door. Can I help you asks the boy is your daddy home asks the farmer. No sir says the boy he went into town. Well is your momma home asks the farmer. No sir she went with dad. How about your older brother Howard? No sir he went with them to town. The farmer stands there mumbling to himself. The boy says can I help you, I know where all the tools are kept if you need to borrow one. The farmer says no that his brother Howard had got his daughter Pearly Mae knocked up. The little boy thought for a little bit. Well I guess you'll have to talk to dad then. But if it helps any he gets $50.00 for the bull and $25.00 for the hog but I'm not sure what he charges for Howard.

  25. Not sure what part of Clinton you live in but the east side going out towards I75 has some underground wet springs. Ask me how I know???? I would make my post holes wider at the bottom when digging and put 6" of concrete in the bottom and let the set for a day before putting posts on then concrete around them. I do a lot of building and am close, if you need any help let me know, I could spare a few hours.

  27. All our dogs and cats have come to us. Over the 25 years we have lives in this house (our first house) dogs and cats have found their way to the place. Now a few were found at diff places in our travels but all "found" us. I have lost count as far as how many, we now have 7 dogs and 14 cats. Oldest dog is 11 and oldest cat is 14, Megan the cat is deaf and blind in one eye, she stays inside with us.

  30. I'll admit, I'm a j-frame fan. I love the simplicity and reliability. After several thousand rounds of practice, i feel confident in handling and firing this platform. But--i just fell in love again this weekend.... I have a 637 (chief special) that i picked up off a fellow member a this winter. Since the hammer is exposed, i carry this one IWB/OWB most of the time. Given the method of carry, i figured i could get away with something larger than the factory boot grip. I ordered these Hogue Monogrips last week and i couldn't be happier. Accuracy improved drastically and i didn't give up much--if anything--in concealability. In addition to that, i think it looks much better (in my opinion) So i say all that to say this; if you've considered aftermarket grips for your j-frame--do it!

  33. 1.  Concrete for the floors - you can pour both the floor and the footing as a unit, if you're doing your own labor the cost may be less this way. 2. As others have pointed out, storing wood next to your lawn shop is just about guaranteed to attract insects and critters that aren't welcome in the other side. 3.  Doubling the size of your storage shed is a good idea, tripling is even better - it's a known law of the natural universe that the stuff you try to store expands exponentially over time ...

  38.   See, my thinking runs just the opposite.  For the most part, I see revolvers as objects that are interesting to look at and that can be (with even a few, minor changes) things of beauty which are also useful tools..  Semi-autos, on the other hand, while they are good tools to have and even have some advantages, have about as much 'soul' as a ball peen hammer (generally speaking.)  That said, when talking about a frequently carried revolver if the aesthetic improvements make it more difficult to use/hold on to then, yep, something has to go.

  40. My wife had gone to look for a new companion for me after our Chow had to be euthanized. She said Molly was one of several puppys in the cages she looked in. As she picked up each one, Molly peed on her. Like taking ownership. Susan laughed and brought her home. Never a regret.

  47. Some lively conversation :) Looks to be about 167,566 bikes registered in TN. That is a lot less than I guessed. I have two registered and I'm guessing I'm not alone. I would also guess that a lot more than 170,000 butt monkeys are in accidents a year due to texting alone. http://www.statista.com/statistics/191002/number-of-registered-motorcycles-in-the-us-by-state/
