Thanks to Daniel at Guns and Leather, I am the new proud owner of the single stack 9 Glock 43. Picked it up yesterday and proceeded to put 200 uneventful rounds downrange, had one brass to the face but I can't swear that wasn't bouncing off the range stall, it was during a mag dump. I love it, will definitely replace my edc XDs when I get night sights ( should be here this weekend). Very soft shooting and extremely happy with it. If you are a Glock fan I definitely recommend it. Waiting on background check First 12 rounds slow fire at ~7 yards. First 50 ~7yrds fairly rapid fire.7 points

1. Jar Jar sucks more than whiny Luke because he's a moron. Luke's an inexperienced farm hand who wants to see the galaxy. He's over excited on the Falcon when things get tense, but he's not a blithering idiot. Jar Jar is a blithering idiot.\ 2. The light and sometimes subtle verbal sparing between C-3PO, R2-D2, Han, Luke, and Chewy is funny. The slapstick comedy of Jar Jar is not funny. 3. Han shooting first is critical. It establishes that he's, at best, a neutral character on the good-evil scale, and at worst downright dangerous. Tatooine is the first time we meet Han. Luke and Ben are hiring this guy and he just blasted a hole in Greedo. What are they getting themselves into? Rewriting the scene later because we want Han to always be a "good guy" misses the mark. He's a selfish scoundrel when they find him. To make him something else diminshes the journey he has to make for himself from that guy in the cantina to General Solo of the Rebel Alliance. Greedo letting Han get the drop on him just shows how inept Greedo was at the bounty hunting job. I don't think the same thing would have happened if it had been Bossk, IG-88, or Boba Fett in the cantina. 4. CGI has its place, but it's not great for living things yet. Puppet Yoda in V and VI is a little stiff and lacks the fine muscle movements of a real living thing, but it is "real" in the sense that it actually exists. The way the light plays off the puppet is the same way it plays off every other real object on the set. CGI yoda has more realistic fine movements (except for the crazy lightsaber fights designed by a 7 year old) but loses the presence of actually being in the shot. Changing the ghosts was just stupid. All of the others are still as old as they were when they died. How come Ben gets stuck in Sir Alec Guiness' body instead of Ewan McGregor's, but Darth Vader gets to go back to being young again? Much like cheapening the redemption of Han by having him shoot second, this cheapens the redemption of Anakin by Luke. It says "Darth Vader never happened. I get to go back to being the good guy I was before that darkness" rather than saying "I survived being Darth Vader and have returned to being a good man after passing through that darkness." 5. III was the best of the prequels, particularly the final scenes on Mustafar. Agree that H.C. couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. The only thing that ruined the final part of III was the Dr. Frankenstein's monster setup for creating Vader. Cheesy to say the least.7 points

This bird came in to an Avian-x hen decoy that my brother bought, I really like it a lot. My brother shot this bird this morning, again since it was raining we set up in the blind and just called some and waited. Since I killed a tom yesterday he had first shot today. He shot, the bird dropped and then got back up and took off. It was on after that, I'm not sure who fired the fatal pellet, but my brother is getting the credit. I estimate this bird cost us about $10.50.3 points

Cops are representives of government, and deserve the same scrutiny we give to any other government agency. Possibly more so when you consider the powers and responsibilities they have. When they are out of line- as the officers actions and the equipment in this situation were- they deserve the reaction they get from the public.3 points

I think it is both dangerous and against the ideals of freedom and liberty to cast any and all criticism of police procedure or an individual officer's actions as 'cop bashing' and, therefore, dismiss such criticisms as simply ire against officers, in general. Just being a cop doesn't automatically make an individual intelligent, rational, honorable or even a very good human being. A jerk wearing a police uniform and carrying a badge is simply a jerk in uniform carrying a badge - a jerk that is granted full police powers to reinforce his or her tendency toward being a jerk. Calling that jerk a jerk is simply speaking the truth, not 'cop bashing'. As hard as it is for some folks to believe, there are bad cops out there as well as otherwise good cops who are subject to poor training or bad procedure. Just criticizing police procedures, the militarization of our civilian police or the action of individual officers does not mean that a person dislikes, disrespects or disdains officers as a rule. Further, not every officer needs to dress or be equipped as if he or she were part of an invading force. In fact, there are some officers who work in such relatively safe and low-crime areas that the likelihood that they will be killed in the line of duty is probably about equal to - well, honestly, probably a good bit less than - my chances of getting killed in a car crash on my way to work.3 points

if a man can't handle someone giving them the finger then they have no business being a cop. Give me the finger and I will wave at you and smile. When in doubt fall back on Mom's advice of "stick and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me." Flying a FU is simply words. Man up and shine it on. I firmly believe any law enforcement should be dressed in a shirt and tie (aside for an operation that is foreseen as especially dangerous.) I would allow a Polo if it was casual Friday. Cops dressed like para military is beyond ridiculous.3 points

Integration is the problem. The schools were doing fine in black and white neighborhoods until the government forced busing on them in the early seventies. There was neighborhood pride all over the city, parents knew the teachers and the school admin could still beat the tar out of you when you became disruptive.3 points

Hell, he was already rushed by as many as could get a hand on him, and more. I'd imagine that if the first noise didn't scatter them, about the time the 3rd or 4th body hit the ground, the rest of the crowd would get the idea toot sweet. - OS3 points

If nothing else, Strick is a master at finding pretty girls for photography shoots, so he can maybe get a few of them draped around your logo and no one will care what the logo itself looks like. :) His models could make a mortuary's logo look hot!2 points

And just how do you propose to do a background check at time of purchase for a private sale? Do we give in to a background check to give a firearm to a loved one, to will one to a child? Where does your Statism stop?2 points

Did you all not know what you were going to get after the first four seasons? Why all the bitching? There has been murder, nudity, sex, more murder, more sex, etc since Season 1. This should not be a surprise at this point. Be libertarian about it. If you don't want to watch it don't watch it. If you're feeling more moral than most then you should have cancelled HBO long ago...2 points

I've only been to On Target a few times, but have never had any reason to complain about the staff. One time, they even helped me with adjusting a flash hider on an AR barrel for free. A simple turn of a wrench, sure...but since I don't have a garage or the tools, that small thing was a welcome help. I also like how late they stay open. I took my ex-girlfriend there to shoot for the first time in her life once on a date night. I'm romantic like that. I've never felt like an unwelcome customer in their business. Their fees for shooting are the only reason I don't frequent their establishment with regularity, and that's a shame. The costs are so prohibitive that I'll drive 30 minutes out to Woodbury and shoot at OK Coral after planning it out instead of a quick 10 minute trip to their lanes spur of the moment. I really think that if they lowered their prices, and used an online reservation system, they could fill enough time blocks with people on their days off, lunch breaks, and so forth to be profitable. Personally, I have two days a week this semester with five hour blocks in between classes where if I didn't have schoolwork to do, I would have considered popping down there to shoot a box of ammo. But, their doors are still open, so they're doing fine without my advice.2 points
-
I guarantee you one thing, if the Outpost opens one it will be both state of the art and outrageously expensive if their other pricing is any indicator. Probably on par with Nashville Armory but more expensive.2 points

What sucks for me is the books of the expanded universe. I've read a little over 200 of the paper back novels and it does as any other book will do.....ruin movies. It's not so much the actual movie that's ruined. It's the ability of the characters. Even Yoda is a bit of a candy ass by comparison to force users in the expanded universe. If you think Yoda had a hard time fighting Darth Sidious, try reading about Bane. Bane could have killed both of them. Other Sith Lords such as Darth Caedus makes Anakin look like an alter boy. Darth Caedus by the way was first known as Jacen Solo. Eldest son of Han and Leia. There was a Jedi (can't recall his name right now) who pulled a starship out of a star using nothing but the force. Hmph, and poor little Luke struggled with his fighter stuck in the mud. I hope, I hope, I hope!!!! They take the expanded universe into account with the new movie. After Luke reaches the age of about 50 he is a BAD SUMM BEECH! He completely redesigns the Jedi Order and does away with all the silly BS of the old order. He can actually use the Dark Side without succumbing to it. It was a long struggle though. My biggest fear of the new movies is that they will botch the Mandalorians completely. Boba brings them back to the forefront and they are feared by the whole of the Galaxy once more. Mandalore is a thriving planet again and Mandalmotors builds the finest fighters and weaponry money can buy. Ohh damn, someone hand me a mop, my nerd spilled out everywhere.2 points

A 147gr copper clad 9mm round costs me $0.13 to load using Green Dot. As for the cost of my time I factor it as shooting time because I load in the winter when I can't get out due to the weather. So yes it is cheaper. More importantly I'm not dependent on the whims of WalMart etal.2 points

Now to patiently stare out the window at the mailbox until it arrives...2 points

If you are reloading just to save money on 9mm it's probably not worth it unless you are shooting high volumes. To me it's more about tuning ammo to my guns and relaxing that it is economics. Edit - Stupid IOS Auto Correct.2 points

I killed this guy last Friday. I was literally sawing off branches when he stepped out into my field about 75 yards away! He left but came back and I managed to draw his attention to my decoys. He couldn't care less about the Hen, but that Jake decoy....He wanted to DESTROY. It was awesome. Took a while to be able to get my gun up without spooking him, but managed to give him a dirt nap a few minutes later. I had to let him separate from my decoy first because i didn't want to ruin my decoy obviously, haha. First one down this year! hopefully a couple more to go! Keep up the good work everyone!2 points

My three kids were always pretty smart. When they finished class work early they would want to play. While in the first grade the schools administration decided that my son had ADD wanted him tested and medicated. To me, it was just a case of lazy teacher syndrome. Give him more work, challenge him. We bit the bullet and sent the kids to private schools where they never had conduct issues and excelled academically. That same boy is now in a five year MBA program. I probably would have taken them out of public schools eventually because I was too concerned about the violence that frequently occurs in the schools.2 points

Just an FYI-----------Collierville Academy Sports had many, many, many at least 100 boxes of 50 rounder's or so in CCI Standard Velocity flavor, Several boxes of Other CCI 50 round boxes, (no Mini Mags) and 50-75 50 round boxes of Thunderduds (Thunderbolts) , plus a few other brands. They had 6 Winchester 22 Mag, but I got three of those.1 point

......if you didn't live so far far away. I have them all. The Darth Bane books can be jumped right into. Darth Bane: Path of Destruction tells of his rise to power. It's followed by The Rule of Two and goes from there. It's hard to get started but once you do, you won't wanna stop. Prepare yourself to spend at least a year or more though. I spent over 9 months reading most of them and I can squeeze an easy 4 hours a day in at work. Also, you WILL NOT wanna miss Karen Traviss's books "Republic Commando" series. They follow Clone Army special forces through the Clone Wars. Friggin AWESOME!!!1 point

And every time I look at the groups on my targets, I do exactly the opposite. My two most accurate pistols (for me) are my Springfield 1911 and my CZ 75 compact. They are also my two heaviest. My Glocks and Rugers are great... but when I just want to marvel at how little paper I use, it's the 1911 and CZ.1 point

Btw I will add I am that guy sometimes. I have been known to give a cop the bird when he has someone pulled over or is radaring and I am on the bike. Its a big joke to most bikers, we know that a lot of them are way to uptight and it'll make them indignant and rub them raw. Otherwise we wouldn't do it.1 point

Reminds me of an old tale. THP officer was ticketing a gentleman for running a stop sign. No big deal, this young punk ride by on a harley, flipped the officer off and proceeded to ride off. Officer goes after him and the young punk says "you can't ticket me for flipping you off, it's my first amendment right" The officer, being a really smart man, says "you are right sir, I'm ticketing you for improper use of hand signals, you motioned a left turn and then stayed straight" The ticket stuck.1 point
