A very nice, innocent Australian woman wants to get married, but she is only willing to marry a man if he has never had sex with another woman. After several unsuccessful years of searching, she decides to take out a personal ad. She ends up corresponding with Scotty Greer, who is an average golfer and who has lived his entire life in the Australian Outback and he has no experience with women. They meet and she is very happy with him; she feels that they are perfect for each other. Eventually they end up getting married. On their wedding night, she goes into the next room to prepare for the evening. When she returns to the bedroom, she finds her new husband standing in the middle of the room, naked. All the furniture from the room is piled in one corner. "What happened?" she asks. "I've never been with a woman" he says, "But if it's anything like a kangaroo, I'm gonna need all the room I can get!"12 points

My dad suffered respiratory arrest early Sunday morning. My brother didn't think he would still be with us by the time I got to the hospital. Some good nursing and help from above (the nurses and Dr. say that's what did it) brought him back around. Back to his old self. Yesterday the hospitalist came to see him and asked several questions. Some went like this: Dr. - "How much do you weigh? Dad - "155 pounds" Dr. - "what's the most you ever weighed'? Dad - "205 pounds" Dr - "What's the least you ever weighed"? Dad - " 7 pounds 8 ounces" Yep. That's my dad alright. He is on the mend but any additional prayers would be appreciated. Thanks. He's a tough old bird that served in Germany post WW2.8 points

I'm a firm believer politicians are a do as I say not as I do bunch of losers. I don't believe any of those dipsticks have what's in our best interests at heart...only what makes them a ton on money and gains them influence. Haslam is a fool like the rest of them.5 points

Doubt any of us on here are surprised, we've pretty much come to expect no less from him. If there's one thing he is good at, it's pretending to be something he's not, he went into the right career for sure.5 points

Most of the blustering buffoons that spout the "9mm will only make them mad" and "real men only carry .45s" couldn't hit the broad side of a barn ...from INSIDE the barn. Why is it that the Navy SpeWar guys are never heard complaining about 9mm ? Why is it that the British SAS don't complain about 9mm? Because PLACEMENT is king and all else is secondary. If you can shoot then 9 will do what you need it to. If you can't then it won't........ And why is it that people whose biggest accomplishment with a pistol is simply loading without shooting themself (yet) feel the need to impress upon others how great their .45 is and how much everyone else's 9mm sucks? I did some work with a .mil guy once whose unit had been sent to a school somewhere where some ATF guy who was an instructor had spent an inordinately high amount of time running down the Beretta and 9mm.....even though that was the gun that ALL these military guys in this class were "stuck" with. I simply told him that the ATF guy was a fool and that if the Beretta and 9mm sucked so much that Andy Brown would not have dropped Dean Mellberg with 2 rounds from 70 yards away at Fairchild AFB back in 1994." Focus on YOUR skills with YOUR gun and simply ignore those pompous jackasses who try to make you feel bad about the gun that the government issues to you". I asked if the ATF guy ever shot in front of the students while demonstrating drills so they could see whether he could shoot or not and the answer was "no". I said " then I'd take what he said with a large grain of salt if he's not going to shoot in front of the class". It is easy to be an "expert" if you never have to prove it.....3 points

Nothing will change as long as people refuse to admit that they are willingly being duped by the two-party system. As long as folks keep voting for Republicans and Democrats, this is what you will continue to see. Remember, the lesser of two evils is still evil.3 points

While Haslam is a reprehensible turd, he is NOT the major problem. Pay close attention to your representatives and Senators who march to his orders - you can (and should) affect THEIR fate, regardless of what King Billy says/does.3 points

Before I went off the deep end and got my 650 I always used cartridge trays. When it came to charging the cases, after doing the whole tray I could see if there was one that was overly full very easily.3 points
-
started reloading in 73 and as far as i know i have not double charged yet. or as far as i can tell. i use powders that all most fill the case and/or 1/2 of the case in my pistol reloads. so if there is a double load it is easy seen and when i index to the next station powder comes out and it easy seen. for rifle i still use a single stage press and two very old powder drops. i like doing 50 to 100 at a time dropping powder. i set them in a holder and before seating bullet i use a light and look inside them. on both of my dillons i use a home made mirror setup that lets me see inside the case on the bullet seat stage. i do not load hot loads, i load easy loads that are fun to shoot all day long so if i did a double charge it should not/could not/hope not/might not be bad if i did double load.3 points

BREAKING NEWS IN TENNESSEE!!! On Tuesday March 10th the Tennessee Senate Judiciary Committee passed the NFAFA's Defense to Prosecution reform bill. SB0181 sponsored by Senator Mike Bell passed by a vote of 7 - 2. Now the bill moves to the Senate floor for their consideration. It's TIME to call your senator and politely request that they support SB0181 when it comes to the floor for a vote. This could happen any day now so if you live, work, or travel in Tennessee call and ema...il them now! You can find your senator here: http://www.capitol.tn.gov/senate/members/ The text of the actual bill is here: http://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/109/Bill/SB0181.pdf Reform of Defense to Prosecution laws is important because it makes NFA items 100% legal in the state where we pass it. Sean Penn is another POS hypocrite that hates guns and America, who has a new action movie coming out portraying him as a badass tough guy, ex soldier, saving the world using guns. I can usually separate the art from the artist, but with Penn, I can't even stand to look at him. He literally disgusts me so bad that I refuse to watch anything he is in. I may watch Neeson's new movie, but I'll wait till I can watch it for free.3 points

I found it odd that when Haslam was mayor of Knoxville, he was a member of Bloonbergs Mayors Against Guns but when he started his campaign for Gov, he suddenly was a lifetime member of the NRA.3 points

I tried to "get with the program" man-up and carry a 1911 cocked and locked. Invariably during my day of being in the woods, and doing everything I normally do during the day I would look down and see the thumb safety off. But the weight of a 40oz pistol got to me as much as the thumb safety getting knocked off. I do have one friend who shot himself in the butt with a Glock by carrying his Glock in a soft holster in his back pocket. Reinserting that Glock into that suede holster after his morning constitutional earned him a trip the Vanderbilt ER. However, at the time at nearly 90 years old and owner of many many dozens of firearms and a WWII Marine vet he decided he better stick with .38 revolvers. He is now 95 and still shoots most every day. He is fondly known as Butt Shot in his neck of the TN woods. There may be a time for a variety of reasons that make us change our carry gun practices.2 points

The simple answer......He is a self absorbed false prophet that has built a cult out of fringe christians, similar to Westboro Baptist. He believe what he preaches, uses the bible out of context to push whatever warped agenda he has that week. He hired an out of work Shock Jock to barter for air time on cable tv. He is no more of a representative of Christ than my dog. The problem is he has biblically sound principles mixed in with a bunch of nonsense. I just choose to not pay people like that any attention.2 points

He is not on our side. Im sure if he could survive it politically he would pass bills that remove gun rights.2 points

You Garand was made in May 1944. We would need several more and very detailed pictures in order to offer any estimate of its value. The term "numbers matching" in the Garand Collector world would mean that every component's drawing number, heat lot code, inspector markings, etc., etc., would have to be in the correct range for the rifle's serial number. That requires a detailed disassembly of the rifle to confirm. A WWII production Garand with all matching parts is rare and we refer to them as Correct Grade. The bayonet is a Model 1905 that is referred to as a "cut-down" from when the blades were cut from 16″ to 10″ during WWII. There should be a date on the opposite side of the blade. The ammo is some of the Korean M2 ball that came in a few years ago. It is very corrosive.2 points

As many of us talk about, if we own guns or not is nobody's business, and I would imagine that there were a at least a few gun owners who refused to participate, thus skewing the sample.2 points

I don't think there's that much more recoil than a 30-06 if any, it's just the metal butt platt on them that doesn't make it any better. My nefew is a collector of Mosins and we have shot 100's of rounds through his models and my M44 and 91/30. I made this stupid looking slip on pad for mine and one for him for when we shoot alot. The padding is cut plumbing pipe foam insulation wrapped in thin leather sewn onto thick leather. Looks stupid but works well, makes shooting 100+ rounds more pleasant and doesn't permantly alter the gun. 1 point

Maybe we need to do like Colorado did and do a recall on Haslam. If our elected officials are not doing what we hired them to do then maybe its time they look for a new job. I think this would be a wakeup call to those under him too.1 point

Apparently they used outdated methodology to collect the data. Gallup's polls show differently, and I trust their data much more.1 point

David, You Definitely picked out One Heavy Duty knife, for Sure!! I have one Exactly like yours except mine is a Folder, and I still can't get over How thick the Blade is on that knife, it's well over 1/8" thick!! If I remember correctly the blade is as thick as the Skull Tool that came with the knife, and thicker than a quarter too IIRC? I had thought about thinning out the Hurd and took a lot of pictures to put it up for sale and that's when I noticed How Heavy it was Built!!! It's a Hefty knife but with the Ti Side it balances out really well. All of features made into the knife make it really unique and that's another part that I really like!! I also noticed that inside the knife ( with the Blade open) It has Engraved inside the spine ( Made in Italy by "LIONSTEEL") which was something I was aware of when I bought it?? I wonder if that's on every knife they made like that? Anybody know? Does your knife have that David? Mine was supposed to be one of the 1st Limited Edition knives that came with a Collectors Tin Case, but it showed up in a Silver cardboard Box with the standard DPX HEST Logo & skull printing, and I was disappointed at the time and placed it into the safe with the rest of about 100 too many knives that live in there... If anyone has anymore information about the Engraving on the inside on the knife, let me know if it means anything specific, other than where it's made and by whom?? Thanks , and Not trying to Hijack any threads.. Nice knife David, that will last a Lifetime of Hard Use my Friend...1 point

Excellent point TNWNGR! I totally agree that these thing do have a "use life"...shoot them long enough and hard enough and they will certainly wear out. I am curious to see how many more round my particular 19 will go once I get the new slide. I have 1000 rounds setting and waiting for it to arrive "back home". :pleased: While I have a 17 and 26 similarly grip modified, I will be purchasing another Gen 3 19 as soon as I find one at a reasonable (to me) price. Hard lesson learned, especially when I know better...1 point

But it is another step to confuse, and scare, the masses like everything else the have been doing lately. It was not a mistake, it is proof they were going to ban it no matter what kind of responses they got during the comment period. Before it is all over is and done with the administration will support the ATF's decision to ban it because it is yet another step in limiting firearms. And all we will hear from now on is that it is banned even if it isn't. Already had people on another board tell me it is illegal to own and I will go to jail for possessing it.1 point
