Are people pics allowed? Maybe a little something different for you guys. :) *These are all photographs and not Photoshop. Photoshop was only used to polish. What you see is what I shot.*7 points

Or just don't buy it because it's not even that good of ammo to start with. People never cease to amaze me.6 points

I'm picking up various smaller fixed-blade knives lately and this one just arrived on Friday. I specifically hunted down the NIlox steel version of the DPx H.E.S.T. II because I wanted something with corrosion resistance that would hold an edge fairly well. There are other versions of this knife that don't use a stainless steel and instead rely on their powder coated blades and your common sense to keep them wiped down with oil to prevent rust from forming. I haven't bothered to see if anyone else on here has posted about the HEST or HEST II so pardon me while I just drop some knife porn...5 points

I'm glad you told me it was a SNL skit. If I had watched it without knowing that, I would have thought it was a public service announcement put out by the Obama administration.5 points

I know we have a lot of photographers here on TGO, myself included. There was another thread of this type a while back but it is so old a lot of the links to the photo hosting sites are no longer good so I thought that I would start a new thread so we could share our work with one another. Please contribute your own work. Here are a few of my favorites from the past couple of years. I don't care if you use my pictures for private use, I would appreciate a PM if anyone intends to use them for any other purpose. As I just mentioned in a previous post, I just purchased my very first camera and downloaded Photoshop + Lightroom. I haven't attempted Photoshop, but I have toyed around with Lightroom a bit. Nothing like the quality we've seen above, but here are a few of my first shots and attempts at playing with Lightroom.4 points

I cut my teeth in photography by being a photographer on the Dragon for three years. I saw a lot of wild stuff and I literally have hundreds of pictures to prove it but this is one of my favorites from that time in life. This happened to be a personal friend of mine who walked away from this accident completely unharmed. He landed on the side of the road, stood up, and yelled at me "did you get that?" And that is why I'm a firm believer in wearing good gear while riding motorcycles.4 points

I will have to turn on my PC tomorrow to get a few good ones but I have one I did on my phone a while back with one of my G Shock watches with my Jeep in the background. G-Shock actually used this pic for their background on their North American facebook page for a while.4 points

The 2 best tapes were far and above Darryl and Carol. I lost it when Darryl was standing there in her living room with that possum still in his hand, then Carol comes out dressed like June Cleaver talking about making casseroles and meeting the neighbors. This was the funniest episode they've ever done. :up:3 points

The ammo tax also helps pay for the ranges TWRA administrates, so others have a place where they can practice shooting. If you're going to get into a different forum, fine, your loss, not ours. But if you plan to stay around, enjoy our community, and benefit from it, I would suggest you don't come into someone elses house and proceed tell them what's what, immediately after saying hello.2 points

before it is all over you will pay sales tax on everything you buy from the internet. the governments has to get the money to pay for the bums.2 points

Hopefully in a year and a half we will have an administration who will actually combat ISIS instead of making excuses for them and not afraid to call them what they really are. Maybe then SNL can make a part 2 of the skit where daddys little girl is in Northern Iraq joking with her ISIS friends, turns around and is looking right in the muzzel of a 20mm chain gun on the bottom of an Apache helicopter, makes a funny remark right before she is suddenly dismantled.2 points
-
kinda stupid. If they really want to push it they should develop a skit making fun of mohammad in some way. Maybe an art school scene where their only teaching is how to draw mohammad cartoons. now that would be funny.2 points

While I agree and acknowledge that's their lot we are still entitled to our opinions. :D Now I have seen some hilarious stuff done by them and that one fellas impersonation of obama is spot on.2 points

Well.. we did it.. again.. This is Odie, he is our latest rescue pup! Adopted him from the local shelter 3 weeks ago, we had to wait a week to have him neutered so he's only been with us for 2 weeks. This was taken the day we got him home. They said that he was an owner surrender and they were told it was Lab/Pit mix. He looking nothing like a lab, I do see the possibility of Pit and I am thinking some sort of hound mixed in. His ears are absolutely ridiculous! They are starting to stand straight up now. Which is pretty hilarious. He only has the sweater on because he was 9.6 lbs and super skinny. Way to skinny, so he needed to stay warm. He has since been fattened up and gained about 10 lbs. He is happy now! Here are some snow pictures too, this is the gang out romping around, I can share it, now that it's gone. Thank god. This is Floyd being a creeper across the pond, which froze totally over. They all seem pretty weak. The hairstylist's husband was very very strange. I dunno, I'm interested to see how this situation gets screwed up.1 point

Rick is the Constable? He sounded more like the governor when he said,"If they don't make it, we'll take this place." When Rick was taking a shower, I was waiting them to show one of the gay guys being a peeping Tom. :stalk: And it looks like there's someone for Carl :dirty:1 point

It's not just the green tip 5.56 they are panicking over. Go to SGAmmo or AIM Surplus, very little of the other bullet styles remaining. 7.62x39 also wiped out, too. And just when prices were coming down!1 point

You should probably read "The Gun" by C.J. Chivers. The US Army was looking for a weapon in the early years of the Viet Nam war that would enable soldiers to be mobile, quick, and deadly. They chose the Stoner design because it was available and they were in a hurry. Smaller rounds enabled more ammo per soldier. To say the M16 version wasn't designed to kill is a little disingenuous.1 point

Jealous? No no I'm not jealous, who would want an old communist rifle like that anyway? And shooting out to 300 yards on ones own property? Overrated, I bet. Sooooo, wanna hang out? Field trip to Ramjos! :D1 point

Isn't that the truth! Apple's iPhone 6 has a superb auto white balance sensor that blows away many recent "real" cameras. Hoping this thread blossoms; some nice shots already posted!1 point

I wouldn't give up any property. If he's moving, then I guess you don't have to worry about neighborly relations. I'd have the surveyor mark it as Raoul said, and then form a plan to move the fence to the correct side of the tree. What kind of fence... wood, chain link? I'd take care of it with this owner so you don't have issues with new neighbors1 point

Was there a lesbian kiss and I just missed it? It's not the gay character I object to, because I already knew they existed in TWD universe, I just don't understand the gratuitous inclusion of something that they know many people will find repulsive.1 point

I started gun proofing my kids very early. both girls. I purposely took the scary out of it and made it a very practical part of their instruction growing up. (see also Massad Ayoob's book on gunproofing your kids) A responsible gun owner is just that... When my children were young, my sidearm was secured when not on my person. (locked up but accessible) I would allow them to see it on my person and ask questions about it. I cleaned it and disassembled it with them. I trained them regularly on "what do you do if you see a gun"... this was important to me as i am not always going to be with them and when visiting a friends house or in an unfamiliar home, i want them to know how to respond... 1. don't touch it. 2. leave the room and find an adult and calmly let them know. As they grew up i began to train them harder. I would unload my sidearm and holster it and test them. at the age of 5, i instructed one of my daughters to goto the kitchen table and fetch her favorite movie, little mermaid... (this all was taking place within eyesight of me) i had placed my holstered and empty sidearm on top of it. she returned and simply stated that there was a firearm on her movie and I would need to take care of it. This training could have saved their life, i will never know but i do know that once my daughter was at the home of another friend for a birthday party. the boy pulled a pistol from under his toy chest in a room full of kids. My 8 year old daughter very calmly left the room and quietly notified the boys mother that he had a pistol and she might want to check it out. This was a toy pistol but the point was made. As they grew I would include them in my range time and increased their understanding and comfort with safe handling of a firearm, muzzle and trigger discipline. Now, both are nearly grown and while they don't have a passion for the shooting sports as I wish they did, I am very comfortable that they are safe and responsible adults. Each one of us has to consider the risk benefit of carrying at all, and i've probably talked more people out of owning or carrying a firearm then into it... the reason is simple: they have not considered all the implications and have not committed to what it actually means to own and or carry. If you have not committed to the very real possibility that you may take someones life while protecting the life of someone you are responsible for and that in the event of a legally justified shooting, you may lose everything (including your job, your life savings and your marriage) in the civil suit, you should not be carrying a firearm. Every person should read "in the gravest extreme" as part of their training. (somewhat dated data, but timeless concepts) Carrying empty is a personal choice, but like Cruel Hand says, is an emotional decision, not logical. with safety training and discipline applied, carrying empty is no different then driving around without your seatbelt, thinking you will have plenty of time to put it on when you need it. A very close friend carried empty, and we debated this regularly. he too has children. We finally, through friendly discussion, uncovered exactly what Cruel Hand pointed out. it was fear of the gun. (he had to come to this conclusion on his own, as it would never do for me to point it out) I explained that this was a training and discipline issue. that with proper training and gun discipline, both of himself and his boys, all the things he feared would be mitigated. he now gunproofs his boys regularly, trains (trigger discipline while unholstering was his biggest personal concern) and secures his weapon when not on his person. and he carries one in the pipe, comfortably. Carry on...1 point

My remaining two... Gulf Shores. All the kids on the beach loved them and they loved hunting down the beach crabs. DADDY, WHERE THE HELL IS OUR DINNER? Here's Maggie...I had to put her down last month. It was a complete surprise...out of the blue she started acting weird and having seizures. Vet found out it was a brain tumor and said nothing could be done. Two of the three were rescues who won the lottery (we're "those" dog owners). The one in the blue collar we've had since she was a puppy. Lexi the Queen just thinks this is how life is. The other two have had a bit of "reality." They are / were all scary smart. If they had thumbs, I'd be screwed.1 point

It was too fat for me, but they shoot really well. The larger ones are extremely gentle; the smallest size has "some" recoil in .40. I kid you not think about concealment if you want to carry this gun. Its advertising could read "50% wider than the leading brands"1 point

I would suggest a Spike's Tactical ST Compresser in 300BLK with a single point sling. Might be a little bulky for casual everyday wear, but it would definitely make a fashion statement.1 point
