  1. Took this picture this morning as I was getting to work. Was on the phone with my wife letting her know I had got to work OK and said something about the pond being froze. She said get a picture. I only had minutes to get to my desk and clocked in, so I took 2 pictures barely paying attention and this is what came out. I believe I am going to have it framed. I couldn't have got a better picture had I tried.

  3. Folks, here's my "primitive" hunting gear for my traditional hunts. The rifle is a .75 cal (12 ga) cut down Brown Bess Musket. It patterns number 5 shot in an awesome manner. I Squirrel and Rabbit hunt with it. I only Squirrel hunt in my Native kit. Plus I'm a Native Reenactor and I love it!!!! Dave

  5. For what it's worth, when I make code changes to the site, I test the ever loving shit out of them across platforms and devices. Windows with Firefox Windows with Chrome Windows with MSIE (bleh) Mac with Firefox Mac with Chrome Mac with Safari (bleh) iPhone Android Tablet   What I don't do is turn my monitors on their head.  That practice will most certainly not change.

  9. Last year LWRC debuted their PDW at SHOT. I ordered one pretty quickly and have been waiting on them and the ATF. I wanted to do something cool with it since I had seen Modern Outfitters do some really cool stuff. The form 3 cleared today and they finished the coating process. Hope you like .....

  10. Congrats on your success and recent acquisitions. I've worked on literally thousands of guns, and find that almost anything can be made to function reliably given enough effort and attention. Many times its just a proper cleaning and lube, sometimes different ammo or a repair. But I wouldn't classify a Sig 1911 or PK380 as problematic, those guns run all day long. Try your luck with a Jennings, Lorcin, Bryco, or some of the really old junk guns and see how well you can do. They are still doable but more of a challenge, especially after some idiot has been at them with a dremel or worse.

  12. Spoke with three different Sheriffs about this bill today, they say it is DOA as far as they are concerned.  These are three that have their heads on straight too, Sheriff's Association is out against it.  Main concern is Billy Bob would think he is off duty LE... That carries a lot of weight in LP.  Legislators might get caught drinking and driving with a gun in their car, they (legislators) will do as the Association wishes.

  13. I'm gonna load the powder and primers tomarrow in some brass and do some test firing :ugh: . Mainly hoping for good functioning/cycling right now. I'll worry about accuracy later on. I think I'm gonna test them in my Ruger P94 since it's built like a tank. I'll load them lightly and at the minumum load as I can . Like I mentioned , I'm all new to this so I'm taking baby steps.

  21. Hopefully this bad weather has allowed every member of TGO to contact the appropriate representatives and organizations opposing this ban.  I have lost count of the emails sent and voicemails left.  I also have letters ready to be mailed tomorrow.     If you do not stand up and speak then you are part of the problem.  I can guarantee you the anti-gun folks are out in force and making sure their voices are heard.  With record sales of guns and ammunition over the last few years the pro-gun voice should be loud, strong and be roaring in our representatives ears.  If every gun owner will speak up that voice will be heard.  For those who are afraid to put your name in an email, to a phone call or in a letter, You have already lost.

  22. I am constantly sending emails. As you stated, I hear many rant, rave and complain but have never contacted anyone or voiced their opinion. It's sad when a very small percentage of people can create this change. Time people get off their ass and take a stand. My wife just laughs when we both send emails. She says bring on the circling helicopters at least they will know how we feel.

  31.         Yeah, I am a pretty devoted student of Responsive Design but there eventually comes a point where it collides with IPB3.  To see that collision at work, now that I've bumped our minimum width down to 960px, resize the browser and scrunch it down a narrow as you can and watch the main nav menu at the top of the page when you compress and expand the width of the window.  It gets ugly real fast.  1190px kept that at bay.   IPB4 is a lot better but it still suffers a bit.  I'm seeing 1190px become a very common min-width setting in CSS across a variety of platforms lately.  Wordpress, Joomla, Xenforo, IPB and other themes and skins are starting to run it as an acknowledgement that the 1024x768 resolution is all but dead on modern computers.   No offense meant to Garufa.   :)

  32.   That's a really odd monitor configuration.  I can fix the min res but sooner or later we get to the point where one person is trying to become the common denominator for everyone else.

  34.     I figured that was the biggest risk and I have prior experience with such things.... probably the scariest 2 minutes of my life....   In college I worked in a test lab at Maytag in Cleveland.  We ran all manner of tests and did development work on every sort of cooking appliance.  As you might guess, we had lots of the big 200 lb gas bottles full of propane and butane.  One winter day the truck had come to refill our empties.  A couple bottles got put up against the wall adjacent to our "endurance lab" which had a handful of ranges (gas & electric) running wide open at the same time.  It stayed about 150 deg in that room.    My workspace was about 20 ft away from the endurance lab.  I recall hearing BANG, WHOOSH, BOOM followed by the strong smell of gas.  The next moment was me and the guy in the space next to me saying "WTF was that?... You smell that?... S__T!  Turn everything off!!"  We both had gas ranges running and scrambled to shut the gas valves off.  It was lunch time and no one else was around so we didn't pull the fire alarm, though in hindsight we probably should have and then run for our lives.  We figured that if there was enough gas in the air for an explosion, we'd already be dead since there were open flames all over the place.    Our investigation showed that a butane bottle had been set with it's relief valve pointed toward an open door.  The tank warmed up, the relief valve opened, and the gas exiting the bottle slammed the door shut.  Thankfully it only blew down for about a second and didn't release that much gas.  That could've been really bad.

  35. Not sure why but when I lived in Virginia they were easier to find then here in Tennessee. Mighty good eating when you can find them. BTW I had to look up what a Morel was, we called then Hickory Chickens. I had no idea that was their real name.

  37. I'm not convinced that they would drop it. There's a reason why it was brought up after all this time and that's because the Pres is pushing for it as part of his agenda. Holder and Obama are trying to limit every possible avenue of our rights that they can. If they can't ban guns, they'll go after ammo. Start with 855 and go from there. 43. We need to fight to remove the authority of the BATFE to regulate and ban ammunition (and other stuff) because it's getting ridiculous that they can keep making rulings like this. My letter to them will be, all these stupid rulings on ammo (sig braces, etc.) restricting, revoking and banning things attached to our second amendment rights has made me make the decision to make it a personal goal to push gun owners and gun rights organizations to get congress to remove that authority from the BATFE all together. LETS STOP BEGGING THEM TO NOT TAKE OUR RIGHTS AND START WORKING TO TAKE AWAY THEIR POWER AND AUTHORITY TO DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

They have one of the best selections in the state and do huge mail order business. www.midsouthshooterssupply.com -Jason G
