Brown Bess Flintlock musket with bayonet. If they can see that .75 bore, it'll scare the pants off of them. If they can't see that huge hole, then that .736 lead ball will make an entry wound as big as a shotgun slug. Secondly, the smoke from that shot creates a screen that makes it impossible for them to see down the hall. Lastly, if seeing my overweight, mostly-naked body come screaming out of that smoke behind 5 1/5 feet of bayoneted musket doesn't send them into paroxysms of terror, nothing will! The 17" of triangular-bladed bayonet is long enough to search out intruders gibbering with fear behind interior doors and walls, but not long enough to endanger the neighbors with over-penetration. Besides, the cops always get a thrill at the sight of me in my boxers standing over the surviving idiot prisoner while he lies face-down on the ground with my bayonet touching on his spine.6 points

That would be a death sentence. Everyone knows 2 x .22 = .44 and while the .44 is still .45-1, it's still close enough to do some real damage. ;)4 points

This was the hardest stock project I have done. I thought I had it before but when looking at it found some issues. Started out as an inletted blank that was roughed out. Stripped the finish off 3 times after seeing more issues, finally am calling it quits on this one.3 points

Then he shouldn't mind going out to the parking lot and catching a few rounds of .22 to prove his point.3 points

Here is my first assembly of a stripped lower. Used a LPK I got for Christmas last year. Will probably replace the safety with something different and put a Geisselle trigger in it next year. Hopefully I will get the complete upper and buffer tube/stock kit I asked Santa (aka my wife and kids) for this year...Was really cool learning how all the springs and detents and roll pins come together to make everything work...I am officially HOOKED...2 points

They lost, remember? Just imagine how it would have turned out if JMB had been a German and he gifted them with the .45 of the gods! [/sarcasm]2 points

I believe Pawn shops are suppose to put items like that on a website for police. I think it is called leadsonline.com Also they are suppose to hold items for X amount of time before they sell them.2 points

I like the positive atmosphere in discussions. On other boards the posters get into pissing contests over miniscule details, devolving into personal attacks and kindergarden verbage. I do not post much, on any board, due to that reason. I appreciate TGO for the maturity, knowledge base and clean humor found here. I know there was a "purge" some time back with over the line posters and Iam appreciative of the effort of the mods.2 points

Resale value will probably be best with a gun that is "manufactured". Unfortunately, not all home made guns are created equal. It isn't all about the parts list either.2 points

... this is one of them. 1) I bought the scope off of DBTN. 2) I bought the ammunition off of drv2fst. 3) 2.ooohhh helped me change the A2 flash hider out for my BCM gunfighter comp. (thanks again) drv2fst!!!! If you find anymore of that run of BH 77gr laying around, ... I'll take it. :) ... this is what it'll do in "somebody's" LWRC M6. 100yds. 16" LWRC M6A2 SSA-E trigger Leupold VXIII 3.5-10 P.E.P.R. quick release mount Black Hills 77gr OTM - sitting at a picnic table w/ Caldwell bipod (built-in picatinny mount) & squeeze bag under the stock. I shot 3 groups just like this one. I also think the BCM gunfighter comp absolutely made a difference... don't know why? but this gun was a 1.5-2moa gun before.1 point

Yep, and you see where messing with his divine design got them. Straight to the hangman's noose at Nuremberg. Proof that the 9mm ain't ####. If they'd kept the mighty .45 against our own 1911 thunder hammers, the two mighty forces colliding would likely have caused an extinction event like the one that that killed off the dinosaurs. Geologists 100,000 years from now would be referring to the "JMB layer" in the sedimentary time line.1 point

The other day my wife walked in and I was reloading magazines from a range trip. She looked at the stack and said "Really? 10 magazines?" Inside I busted out laughing athe the 40 she didn't see in the safe lmao. Not that she would really care, she'd just say I'm ridiculous. Although she gets mad when her 9mm ammo doesn't get restocked fast enough. ....by me of course1 point

I think there are a lot of folks that simply enjoy the fit and finish of that level of 1911. I also don't think all of those owners necessarily go out of their way to "brag" about owning one. Many also would not claim their shooting is necessarily enhanced. They simply appreciate the inherent quality of the materials and the overall fitment and attention to detail. If you visit the 1911 Forum you'll discover a lot of Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, etc owners are not particularly "well healed" "showing off" moneyed folk. A lot of folks discover something they perceive as being of special build quality and they decide to spend their money on it. An upscale motorcycle, a finely built automobile, etc, etc. Good for them.1 point

I did wonder about that, but hey I can't keep all the Smith models straight. I got a copy of the Standard Smith & Wesson catalog from a member here, and it has been one of the neatest and best books I have for firearms.1 point

Thanks for the recommendations on the books. As far as the lists, well we are on so many I dont know how the ones watching are keeping up with all of them. The way I see it is to keep adding to the lists and just maybe we can overload the system. :cool:1 point

The entire infrastructure of this country is on the verge of collapse. Power grids, roads, bridges and water supply. It seems congess would rather waste our tax dollars on worthless government programs and sending billions each year to countries that hate us. All the Chinese have to do is wait.1 point

If it's on here I ask for a fair price and usually sell for about what I paid for it. If it's on Gunbroker I set a min price and let fly. If it's on Armslist I ask what I think they're selling for. If it's at our Club it's 2x the list price and carrying charges since I had to carry it out there. If I'm buying at our Club it's 1/2 of what I think it's worth. If I sell it then I tell my wife I got double what I actually paid for it.1 point

The process is simple. If you're in the process of getting raped or murdered or if the British are coming, all you have to do is call the permit office & they'll let you fill out the papers. Yeah...okay! :surrender:1 point

If it is a true serious SHTF or TEOTWAWKI, and the situation arises that im stuck in traffic, im either driving the shoulder or going offroad to get away from the mess or im going to start pushing vehicles out of my way on my own. You should have several ways to get home but rules and laws be damned if it truly hits the fan.1 point

Please use the 223 (not FMJ as that is illegal) so when you do hit one it dies quickly. You could probably use a 22, but why, it's not fair to the animal unless you have a perfectly placed shot. Plus, if it is at any distance, you will just end up wounding it. Some may disagree, but I am always looking for a humane kill. Since you have a 223, use it. Personally, I don't think a red dot is a great option for Coyote hunting though. If possible, I would get at least a 3-9x scope to put on it. It doesn't have to be expensive as a 223 doesn't have a lot of recoil and an AR decreases it even further.1 point
