I just got of the phone with Dave, the Tanto Bladed knifes will be stone washed, blades and have stonewashed, pocket clips as well, they will cost the same as the two tone regular bladed knives but they are different so no T is needed, The 3 bullet hole designs will be on the back of the blades on both knives, prototypes of both should be done in the next few weeks,6 points

I got up early this morning in hopes of catching another glimpse of the big one that I caught a few glimpses of yesterday evening. I wanted to get in the blind at least an hour before daylight to ensure everything was completely settled back down by daylight. The guy that hunts the farm next door saw that I had put a food plot in so he decided that he'd put a stand up about 30 yards away to try to catch deer on their way in (yea that's a b!tch move) but anyways, they decided to drop someone off with the 4 wheeler at that stand as the sky was starting to light up, so much for letting everything settle down huh... I was having a very hard time staying awake listening to the rain falling on the roof of the blind but a doe running at full speed caught my eye. She came straight over the fence from his direction headed straight towards me then made a hard left and into the trees she went. I wasn't sure if she'd busted him and was just getting out of Dodge or if a buck was after her but just in case I flipped up the plexiglass window and before I got it latched I saw another doe coming in at a fast trot//sprint with what looked like antlers growing from her back. The I realized there was a buck with his head up her rear end so I stuck the rifle out the window and had plans of grunting to stop him long enough for a shot but that wasn't happening. I tried grunting, whistling and finally I tried screaming all of which he paid zero attention to, I mean he never broke stride. I wasn't sure if he was the big one (he wasn't :( or not but I knew he was big enough that I was going to shoot him anyways so I took a quick shot as he ran by me. He ended up running about 30 yds down the hill into the woods before he fell dead. Here he is,4 points

Got my first deer yesterday, a small doe. Puts some meat in the freezer and a big learning experience for me.4 points

if people did not pay the price then the price would drop. You can't fix people who shoot us all in the foot.4 points

the we are "better than them" around here attitude cracks me up. I deal with "hipsters" every day at work, 99% of the ones I deal with are truly nice people to me, work and are productive, and aren't afraid of buying good product. So they wear skinny jeans, flannel or other nice looking clothes? Their hair is generally well kept and some have beards. Does everyone here look down on everyone else? It is no wonder the "gun crowd" is generally looked at as nut bags.3 points

News flash... If a firearms company is having trouble staying in business right now, switch production to .22lr and that will take you out for another year at least :)2 points

He very well knows that his signing of that law caused Remington to make their decision but when have you ever heard a Democrat take the blame for anything negative that happens on their watch???....................... :shrug:2 points

The Colt feels cheap too. If you already have an AR buy a dedicated upper, they can be had for around the same price as the Colt and you end up with a much nicer setup. Anotehr big problem is most parts will not interchange so you may not be able to swap parts to build it the way you want it.2 points

I don't post much on here, I do read and learn a lot though. That being said I thought it might be nice to let some you guys see what you talked me through doing without even knowing. This is my first build, my first AR pistol, and my first time having to determine what is legal and what is not. This is an Anderson Arms stripped lower ($71 otd at lgs), PSA LPK and M16 BCG ($158 total), a Hardened Arms 10.5" Upper in 5.56 w/ Free float rail ($240 shipped form Gunbroker), and a cheap set of flip up irons that my local shop had on the shelf for 20 bucks, They are metal and hold very well so I like them. Then finally the SBX brace from Rockwell arms($121 shipped). That is $610 total which I think is pretty good. This is my new "truck/get me home, can be carried in my back pack range toy, and I think I am in love.........2 points

Too funny when Daryl was looking at that painting and says it looks like a dog dragged its ass thru white paint. :rofl:1 point

*some* of the high end stuff can make a smaller group than that at 50 yards -- these are expensive competition guns for professionals, yes. But they can do it, and the small # of shooters who can pull it off need such a gun. What you are paying for is effectively a hand made gun. Its hand fitted every which way, the trigger job is carefully done, and more. Most people don't need all that. Just like most people don't need a $10k competition "sniper" rifle. Just like most folks don't need a 1/4 million dollar sports car. Anyone who has the cash can buy pricy stuff ... whether they need it or not. A few people "need" it ... they get paid to win competitions, its a tool for their job.1 point

I've heard good and bad opinions of Kimber, Colt, Springfield and other 1911 pistols. My Rock Island doesn't have the quality of finish as that of my Wilson Combat or SA PRO, but it has been accurate and never failed to fire.1 point

$500 No sir. I know Bud's has them for $392 without the threaded barrel. I'm a proponent of the 15-22. I own one, and I use it often. Manual of arms is the exact same as your real deal AR. Yes it's polymer, so if that is your deciding factor I suggest take Dolomite's advice above.1 point

I thought the same thing at first. But I will be over 12 feet from the TV in this room. I’m only 10 feet from the 65†when I’m lying on the couch and it looks great. The other bedroom has a 42 in it. I’m 10 feet from it and have to wear my glasses to see real detail, 10 feet from the 65†I don’t have to wear my glasses. Well, and if I’m understanding what they are saying the 4K standards may still change. Not sure what impact that would have on TV’s already out there though. I just don't see the $300-$400 difference being of any value to me.1 point

Seems like the comments indicate that in this area, we need to go to the Knoxville Expo show to find a "real" gun show.1 point

In all seriousness, for the ones that say better options out there, please qualify that please. I am trying to avoid the pigeon hole of Ford vs. Chevy decision, with real qualification. Serrations, Sights and Finish, have no meaning to me for this specific purchase, but triggers, barrel and other options might.1 point

The type 94 almost seems backwards to me. Seems it might make more sense to charge a an additional $20 in order to shoot a buck and not charge anything additional to hunt does. I'm betting as many if not more hunters would go for that on the chance that they might have to pass on a nice buck. It would also be more friendly to financially disadvantaged hunters who are just trying to put some meat on the table.1 point
