Doctors office visit!!!! Yesterday I had an appointment to see the urologist for a prostate exam. Of course I was a bit on edge because all my friends have either gone under the knife or had those pellets implanted.   The waiting room was filled with patients. As I approached the receptionist's desk, I noticed that the receptionist was a large unfriendly woman who looked like a Sumo wrestler. I gave her my name.    In a very loud voice, the receptionist said, "YES, I HAVE YOUR NAME HERE; YOU WANT TO SEE THE DOCTOR ABOUT IMPOTENCE, RIGHT?"    All the patients in the waiting room snapped their heads around to look at me, a now very embarrassed man.   But as usual, I recovered quickly, and in an equally loud voice replied, “NO, I'VE COME TO INQUIRE ABOUT A SEX CHANGE OPERATION, BUT I DON'T WANT THE SAME DOCTOR THAT DID YOURS.”     The room erupted in applause!  DON'T MESS WITH OLD RETIRED GUY!!!!      Yea I am an old retired guy!!!!!!!

Yes you can. I stop people regularly for it. If they have a valid license and insurance, I let them go with a warning. TCA 55-4-110c

The type 94 almost seems backwards to me. Seems it might make more sense to charge a an additional $20 in order to shoot a buck and not charge anything additional to hunt does. I'm betting as many if not more hunters would go for that on the chance that they might have to pass on a nice buck. It would also be more friendly to financially disadvantaged hunters who are just trying to put some meat on the table.

What's the goal we have as hunters? Do we want as many people as we can get buying hunting license and going into the woods to enjoy the sport? That's what I want. I don't care what you hunt with, I don't care what deer you shoot, so long as it's legal. Let's make it easy for folks to get into the woods. One price for deer hunting instead of 3 separate stamps and a type 94 for doe that TWRA wants us to take anyway. I don't see any point in making the process of killing any more difficult. We have a shortage of hunters, not a shortage of deer.

Anything I buy will have to be purchased on my phone from my treestand. Good deals in stores but I value my sanity more than a good deal. There's just too many dadgum morons out that day.

What incident could happen that would get new anti 2A legislation passed? The Sandy Hook event didn't get any passed and that's about the worst thing I can imagine.

But never relax. Now, while we ARE ahead, is when we need to be calling and emailing our representatives ad well as representatives in other states. Voice your pleasure so they know it. Too often we contact those that represent us when we are pissed. Do something different and let them know you are happy. Maybe, just maybe, we can get even more gun freedoms. Like legalization, without registration, of NFA items. Maybe a push to have SBRs and silencers removed from the registry all together followed by the rest.

Who ever tells their wife about these things? You explain if and when you get busted.

NO!!!! We have a rifle season where "Centerfire" weapons are permitted. I have in the past and will in the future, push for a primitive season similar to PA. Sidelock Percussion and Sidelock Flint only. Move Inlines to the regular gun season!   Dave

I watched a movie called Taking Chance Tues. afternoon. Highly recommend for anyone that hasn't seen it. True story of a 20 yr old Marine returning to WY...........in a casket.  It should be require viewing for every politician in this country.

There are a lot better 1911s out there for that price.

I feel sorry for people who live in New York, New Jersey, or Massachusetts the same way I feel sorry for women in Afghanistan.  Members of both groups are often stuck in their localities, seemingly powerless to better their lives.  And it is cause for celebration when a liberty-minded individual gets to break free from those places.  You know those scenes in Charlie Wilson's War where all the rich people are lamenting the lives of the Afgans under communism, and they just want to do something?  That is how I feel about those states sometimes.   Truly, with some of New York's draconian laws, it seems like a foreign country.  I would imagine that it must be depressing voting for change and watching the same old stuff get perpetuated. There is probably a sense of hopelessness that can really crush one's spirit in those places.

They make cheap ones that fasten behind the plate using the plate holes and shine over the top. Real easy fix and cheaper than factory replacement lights.

I don't know, I read a little of them, but mostly 'compared' the stories through online sources in the early seasons. I now take the show fresh, as it is more fun that trying to determine who is who since names and certain plotlines have changed.   They are two separate stories with similar characters and similar situations.

  To each his own. I think it's uglier than an ugly thing that is unattractive. There's almost as much meat in that slide as on a Hi-point. I suppose that's an XD hallmark though, and the main reason I don't like them. All that extra metal makes them top heavy to me and just plain heavier to carry than what they're supposed to be competing against. Namely Glock and Smith's M&P. I had an XD subcompact which I shot as well as any other pistol (and better than some), but it was just too heavy when compared to a G26. Add in the fact that the grip length on this Mod2 "subcompact" is almost the same as a G19, and I think I'll pass.   I'm glad they decided to print "GRIP ZONE" prominently on there. Otherwise I'd have had no idea what to do with that part of the gun.

We live on a dead end street with a light downgrade. I look forward to the next car or truck sitting in the front yard.  :squint:

Back in my younger years i loved snow, looked forward to it cause there was always good money to be made. I had a 1977 Dodge Ramcharger with many modifications done to it drive train wise. Lifted 6 inches , 15x35x15 monster Mudders with steel studs, Detroit Locker differentials that would pull equally much like a tank and the vehicle would go just about anywhere I wanted to to go. When it Snowed I would drive from Kingston Springs to Nashville and make pockets full of money pulling people up and over hills so they could get home. Then as years went by and winters quit seeing snow fun seemed to go away and price of gas to operate that machine was not fun either so it got a new home. I can tell anyone one secret about 4X4 trucks that I learned several times but because of the pulling power of that truck I was able to get out of the messes. The secret is for those of you that don't know. When driving on ice covered with snow or on black ice your vehicle with studs in tires will go well enough. It is stopping that becomes the adventure. They will not stop any better than a car with bald tires. I slid off the road many times to avoid hitting a car in the trunk lid in front of me but was able to drive back on the road again. Now with that said I am not sure how well these newer 4x4's pull and not even sure you can do any fancy stuff to them to help them.    These days I am old and well seasoned and keep my house well stocked with food for me and the mutt and now when ice or snow shows up I set in my warm house and watch the excitement on the road in front of my house when folks try to make a stop at the sign about 40 yards from the house at the bottom of a slight downgrade...................... :rofl:  :rofl:  :rock:

I don't know what weather canal you watch but mine said cold not cool. IMO there's no such thing as nice and cool. There's nothing nice about being cold!!       EDIT: Meant channel, not canal. Spell check was having fun at my expense again.

I'm not too concerned about a few ultra-liberal states and what they do, I hate it for those who are true 2nd Amendment believers who live in those states, and most likely voted for candidates who can't possibly win but they are a minority living with a state full of Un-American socialists so about the only real thing to do is move out. Still, think about the last 20+ years, we have gone from special requirment permits, even in Tennessee to shall issue in most states. No more waiting periods in Tennessee and many other states to instant check, in Tennessee we have gone from many areas we couldn't carry to almost any place as far as parks and restaurants etc. I know it's not a complete restoration of our 2nd Amendment rights but it has moved in the right direction in most states and I don't see it going backwards on a state level, it would have to be on a federal level and I don't see that anytime soon. If the dems couldn't get any legislation passed right after Sandy Hook they have far less of a chance of passing anything now. Now the few states passing more restrictive laws, there's not much I can do about that except be damn glad I live in Tennessee.

If you are using it strictly for reading books, you can't go wrong with the Kindle Paperwhite. Very affordable, great backlit screen and excellent battery life. I use mine daily and only have to charge it about every two weeks.

My dad always said it ain't worth going to work unless you're gonna make enough that day to pay for repairs if you tear your vehicle up. It kinda works out though. I'm in construction (and he was too for a long time) and if it's bad ain't nobody gonna be working anyway. So usually I catch up paperwork at home and play with the kids. Now as far as hunting goes it's different and I usually proceed with caution lol. Then again there's usually not a bunch of morons out before when I am. I ain't gonna lie though I pretty much hate driving on icy roads. It's a good way to get your stuff banged up and I don't like my stuff banged up. And it's TN, it'll all be gone in a day or so.

I figured my winter driving skills were pretty OK. What I failed to account for was the driving skills of others and I ended up being the ball in a game of traffic pinball. Next time I'm just working from home.

How would they license a black powder/primitive (centerfire) season? We are already being licensed to death now. To hunt with bow...$28, Muzzleloader...$28, Centerfire (rifle, shotgun, pistol)...$28, Fishing/small game...$28, WMA permit/Non quota big game (to deer hunt on a WMA)...$21.........WE DO NOT NEED more licensing fees! Tennessee is one of the most expensive states to hunt. We're licensed to death here.   Oh...I have two H&R Handi Rifles. One in 45/70 and one in 7mm/08....they are not very accurate nor consistent on the range. Just my :2cents: !   Dave

I don't think "H&R" Single shot rifles could be considered "primitive" seeing that they are of modern manufacture. Leave muzzleloader as is or better yet....go "primitive"....   Dave

John Wells set mine up.  I went to his office in Brentwood.  An hour and a half spent, well worth it.   1.5 hours = 30 minutes Trust talk/set up + 1 hour of ancillary gun talk 

Chip Cain (he's a member here) did mine. Was a very smooth and easy process and all was handled via phone & email. He also provides a ton of very useful information to go along with it. All of his responses to my questions were prompt and very thorough.

I had Chip Cain do mine and he was great.  He has done many others on here as well.  He is located in Franklin.

I wouldn't be for or against it, but I think there are too many "you can use this, but not that" regulations already.  There are plenty of options to use different weapons at different times as it is.  If anything, just make a longer overall rifle/muzzleloader/handgun season and keep the bow season and make it simple for anyone to understand.

I used to live in TX. Hogs travel in packs. If you are stand hunting a bolt action will do fine if you want to avoid carrying a second rifle. However, if you want to try to shoot more than one, get a semi auto. Or if you will be on the ground chasing them on foot. Sometimes the ones that aren't shot get pissed when their friend just got killed. If you are hunting for meat, a 223 will do fine on the smaller ones. If you are going for the biggest one you can find, get something that has tougher bullets available like a 7.62 (308, 300blk or 7.62x39) or 6.5 like a Grendel.   A 308 or 6.5 Grendel would both work good for deer too.
