For the longest time I've wanted to build a gun to truly just beat the snot out of. Finally I had enough leftover parts that all I really needed was a barrel. PSA had these stainless barrels on sale a couple weeks back for $75 so I snatched it up and I finally have my beater I've always wanted. It consists of a Anderson slick side upper, Anderson lower with PSA parts, and a ebay free float that I like surprisingly well. I'll eventually swap the sights to fixed irons because it will be a iron sight gun forever. I'll also switch the stock out eventually as well but for right now I'm just enjoying it. I plan to run it without cleaning until it absolutely fails and document the round count so that might be interesting.5 points

This knife has black G10 scales with grey liners and has those "cracks" etched into the steel. It came out pretty darn good. It was double etched with ferric chloride then sanded with 1200 grit paper to obtain that silver-grey color on the blade. I don't know if you can tell by the picture but the scales have green highlights in the grinds. It has jimping on the spine and is made from 5/32" carbon steel and professionally heat treated to a 59-60RC. It would be nice to see a more conservative-biased or even Liberterian paper come onto the scene and put The Tennessean out of business entirely, but the day and age of the physical newspaper is seriously drawing to an end.5 points

I have been wanting one of these for several years, I was lucky enough to be working with a Guy who's brother has around 30 Les Paul customs and needed some fast cash for an ugly divorce, so I got a fantastic deal on this that I just could not pass on, It is still at his home in Spain but when I figure the best way for him to ship it to me, it will be in my home, I may just get a glass case made for it and hang it on a wall (or learn to play it)4 points

Wrongle toggle switch and no washer, wrong tuning keys, wrong thickness neck pickup ring, wrong truss rod cover, wrong peghead face picture, wrong placement of toggle, a little bit mis-shapen body, not the proper grain and grade top, wrong case... probably some more if we had more pictures. It doesn't necessarily mean it can't be a good playing and good sounding guitar, but that's not a Gibson.3 points

It's not that some people can't understand the simple language and meaning of the 2nd Amendment, they simply refused to because they don't agree with what our founding fathers wrote and believed in. I don't have a college degree but it's obvious to me who "The People" are what the 2nd Amendment affirms, the 2nd Amendment couldn't have been more simple and straight forward. Most of these "progressives" have built a fortress around them and will not allow any other idea or thought to enter no matter what it is. These so-called "progressives" should really be called "Regressives" because their ideals and philosophy isn't progressive, the same ideals and philosophy have'nt changed since the beginning of written history. The philosophy that only a certain number of elitists will rule and judge the masses, the peasants have no decision how they live their lives because the ruling elitists only have the intellect to determine what's best for them. Those progressive ideals have been around since the Pharaohs of Egypt, the Romans, the bolshevik revolution, the third reich and now modern socialism which isn't modern.3 points

From many personal experience, if the church already has a relationship of giving, you can funnel "stuff" through the church. That way very few know, and you could be the eyes and ears for the church for other needs too.2 points

Be mindful not to offend the grandpa/uncle's pride and you should be O.K. Goodwill investment on the young now may help turn them into productive members of society, and the good your kids see you do will be a great lesson. Kudos good man.2 points

Well, Since I am at the mercy of my friends when it comes to deer meat these days since my health went south, I let nothing go to waste. I don't get as many deer as I use to but have plenty of freezer space. I had a deer in my freezer that I had picked up from processor that a buddy put in with my name on it when we had a power failure about a month later and it was still warm because this deer was taken with a bow. We were down about 23 hours and I never opened the freezer which is stored in an out building during that time. I have ten 1 gallon milk jugs of water frozen in the bottom of the freezer and all of my meat is stored on top of the blocks of ice. I never lost one package of deer meat and all of it was still almost frozen rock solid when the power came back on. I also had some fish frozen in water bags in the freezer and the fish were still frozen solid. It is also one of the old freezers that does not self defrost which I think helps keep meats longer. Now with that said, any of you guys that find yourself with an extra deer and you live in the area I will be more than glad to take it off your hands and pay the processing. I live in Gallatin and Poindexters Bait and Tackle has large coolers and is a TWRA check in station and if you take it there to check it in and want to let me have it you can put it in the cooler in my name and phone number and Buddy Poindexter will call me and let me know it's there. I will pick it up and take it to processors. Any deer will be greatly appreciated...........Thanks2 points

It's folks like this who cause me to mentally justify unthinkable things. Most the time I respect the laws which make society civil; other times I wish society would let folks like me off the chain for a few days to take care of human garbage who prey on the weak without remorse. They need a dose of their own medicine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I'll use a separate post to call anything zombie related a gun turn off for me. I hope those who bought something with that, or added it themselves in a permanent way didn't hope for resale value to be the same as a non-zombie gun would be.2 points

I carry a Glock 26 condition 1 in a Bianchi Carrylok holster. The gun does not come out of the holster unless I’m cleaning it. My two and a half year old impressed me a while back - when my 16 year old asked him what that was on my belt, he replied sternly "That’s a gun. It is not a toy. Don't touch it." It’s obviously never too early to teach kids about guns.2 points

I thought you guys would enjoy this. Here is a picture of the 2nd Amendment Foundation proudly displaying the check they had cut from the City of Chicago as a result of being awarded legal fees ($399,950 to be exact) they incurred to successfully fight and win the McDonald v. Chicago case in 2010. They posted it on their Twitter feed to kick off their public relations campaign in support of their new lawsuit against Illinois regarding restrictions in there nascent CCW law. Here's hoping they bring home another win, and another big fat check!2 points

One of my grandsons is getting an average of 50 to 60 hours a week now and has been for about a month. He asked one of his supervisors if they knew how long the overtime was gonna last and all the guy could say was he had no idea. My grandson called me gripping and bitching about all the overtime and how he had no time on weekends to do anything but rest up on Sunday for the next week. I told him, " Do you remember 4 years ago when you were working for all those Temp Services and barely scraping by and worried all the time about being able to pay your bills. I do because it was me loaning you a few bucks here and there to get you through the week. I finally had a friend of mine get you that job you have now and you have gotten three raises, a newer car, checking account and savings account and your own place by listening to ole Grandpaw. Now listen one more time to him. Shut up, quit your bitching and enjoy all the overtime you can get because over time was always a blessing to me and you will have plenty of time to spend the money when the overtime ends." He said , "That is why I always call you instead of Mom and Tommy Grandpaw." They agree with me all the time and you give me pep talks."............................... :rofl:2 points

I was in a similar situation as a kid. The best thing you can do, IMO, is make the times they spend at your house, playing with your kids a great time. I was pretty poor in my own house, but when I was hanging out at a friends house or my cousin's house, the parents always took a little extra care to make sure I was happy and enjoying myself. I had some envy, but more so, it helped make me want to make something of myself and rise up from my conditions. It proved that the best sermon is a good example. Trying to do more could be seen as disrespectful by the kids guardians, even if it is with the best intentions from the way you describe them. You might cause them to tell their kids to play with yours anymore, and then you're cut off from helping at all.1 point

I would grab a complete upper from Radical Firearms: http://www.radicalfirearms.com/category-s/1853.htm For a BCG I would buy the AIM surplus NiB: http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XAIMBCGNIBBDG They are so much easier to clean and actually add to the looks of the gun. Grab a charging handle from anywhere. I just picked up a US made one for $14 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251680316003?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT It looks great. Milspec stocks and buffer tubes are going to be more expensive. Also there are a lot more offerings for a commercial tube. I bought a NICE commercial tube off of Ebay for $9 shipped and it is the best commercial tube I have ever used. I have actually bought a few more because they are so good. Unfortunately he has raised his prices some. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commercial-Spec-6-position-Aluminum-Buffer-Tube-Aluminum-Receiver-Extension-Tube-/201198169438?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ed8586d5e1 point
