  2. Where are our Memphis folks at?  Here's a great opportunity to pile on Nashville in a way that's usually reserved for our neighbors to the west.  And, in fact it is completely and totally deserved.  Whereas Memphis can claim several redeeming qualities, I can't think of a single one for Antioch.   Last person out of Antioch please turn out the lights.

  8. Say it like it is, some states just blatantly and arrogantly betray the Constitution, ignore the very ideals America was built on. Most of these states were the first states to defy and rebel against the crown of England, the very first states to become the United States of America. Now these states that were governed once by patriots are now governed by traitors. Strong words? Not at all, it's the truth, it's time to start calling them what they are. What else would you call leaders who would dispose of the very document they swore an oath to follow and defend, totally ignore the very rights of the citizens this document affirmed and guaranteed just to write their own authoritarian laws to reflect their Un-American socialist ideals. Traitors, nothing more, nothing less.

  10. News quote::::   Fitzpatrick was arrested in May of 2013 by Columbia police for the aggravated robbery of a Cash Express store. According to Maury County Juvenile Court records, Fitzpatrick was found guilty of that charge.   If this little fat SOB was found guilty of Felony Armed Robbery in 2013  why is he not in PRISON..........

  14.    Rifles are a different category,  light and fast is relative  at handgun velocities much like cars using HP to weight ratio we could do the same with bullets and lumping rifles in with handguns would be something like lumping in an ENZO Ferrari with a VW beetle, a Yugo, and a Dodge Omni  they would all hurt if they ran into you at their "normal operating speed" but the splat from the Enzo ..... all effective enough to splatter a human     It sucks we even as a species have to think about shot placement on a fellow human who has decided that visiting violence on us is somehow a"normal acceptable" practice :(   But I am glad we have tools that if used properly will modify that behavior if it comes right down to it.    Practice with your chosen pistol/ammo/holster setup, study your anatomy, study your situational awareness, have a plan with your loved ones so if they are nearby they know what they should/shouldn't do and light a candle that that time never comes that you need to use this knowledge, knowing that if you do you have done all you can to have a good outcome to an uncertain and unpredictable situation.   I hope no one who reads this ever has to go to that dark place, some have peered through the door and some have walked in and came back, it isn't something that should be on your vacation list.

  15.   +1. Some theaters across the country actually tried that a few years ago. It didn't last long. My local theater, which has finally gone digital, will actually stop the movie & put a "turn off you cell phones" message on the screen for 30 seconds if they see someone using one during the movie. If that doesn't work they come in & escort the cell phone user out of the theater. I've seen them do both at least once.

  17. I'm in the : placement, placement, placement with a proven reliable round category.   The only "exotic" round wound I've seen was many years ago when Glaser Safety rounds came out...old flat point style in .38 or .357...not really sure. But the guy that was shot had a light jacket on, the shot was by an Officer at close range into the chest. The very superficial surface wound was darn nasty, the ribs were visible, but there wasn't any penetration into the chest cavity. Did it stop the aggressive action towards the officer? Yep...but only because the aggressor chose to stop.   I stay with traditional rounds, like Gold Dot. Accurate shot placement into the correct place with deep enough penetration seems the best bet for me.     No dissing your post HV, just an observation and an opinion. :2cents:

  20. I really don't have the words to express how I feel about this. It's just impossible to convey the feelings of disgust for such scum as walking meat-sacks like this are.   I will refuse to use the term people/person, because that imbodies them with a form of reasoning and humanity they lack.   At best...may they burn in Hell.

  25. I’m pretty firm in my beliefs and outspoken on most issues, but I don’t mind saying I just can’t seem to get on either side of the abortion issue. I believe abortion is immoral and wrong. However, I have interviewed several rape victims and I think it’s immoral and wrong to force them to have a baby by someone that brutally attacked them and damaged them physically and mentally. A mother’s life is at risk with a pregnancy and she can’t have an abortion, the family just watches her die? I can’t get on board with that either. So I guess I’m for leaving it up to the people that are dealing with it to decide.

  26. That's the truth.  You'd be hard pressed to find a single place within Davidson county where you can't go a half mile in some direction and find yourself in a different place than you left.  That's the hazard of a big city, I guess.

  28. I have a 1000 non coated sitting here and just haven't got around to doing much with them.  I loaded 20 test rounds and have only shot 5 of those before I realized I didn't have the shoulders bumped down enough.  I fixed that and still need to get back out and do some testing.  I did powdercoat some of mine though since I will be putting them through a suppressor after I make sure they aren't tumbling.

  33. That robbery was particularly evil and the killing of that young man was not necessary at all. He did everything they ask him to do and they just shot him for no reason which makes it just pure meanness. And they ask folks like us here why we think we need to be armed at all times. What would have happened to anyone that would have drove up at that time to get a pizza. They would probably been shot and killed also.......................jmho

  35. Reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker while we were driving to lunch the other day. He's from New York and is constantly fascinated by anyone who owns firearms. He kept trying to convince me that by having guns in my house, I was astronomically more likely to be shot by one (as if they point at people and fire all on their own). We had fun going in circular arguments until we got to where we were going.   Re: using kids to push anti-gun propaganda, did you guys see this? I feel sorry for that guy. http://www.kaaltv.com/article/stories/S3586421.shtml?cat=10151

  39. People are idiots My retail experience yesterday was to get a new pair of jeans at TSC because my old tsc jeans belt loops had come apart. I picked up the same pair and noticed that it had a guarantee that said if there was ever a problem with workmanship you can bring it back to tsc for a replacement. So i asked the cashier to do this - she knew nothing, got the mgr, who clearly had never handled this warranty issue before and told me i needed a receipt and he could exchange them. I said who keeps a receipt for a $20 pair of jeans, and the guaranteee says nothing about needing a receipt. I was wearing the pants with the bad belt loops and said these should be evidence enough. He did not agree - good grief

  40. funny story. (and a bit off topic). i worked for berry's for several years. this was 15-20 years ago. at that time i was in my mid twenties, and was given dave's book by my father. i had no debt, but my dad thought it was a good read so i read it. several months later dave spoke at our church. i had the opportunity to have lunch with him afterward (my father was the pastor) and asked why he didn't mention pawn shops as a good way to save money on purchased items. his response was that he had never met a pawn broker that he trusted. i mentioned berry's to him and told him that i thought they would advertise if he would allow them to. the retail business of the pawn shop increased substantially with that advertising. pretty cool (at least i think so). now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

  43. The way some folks around here talk, the HiPoint is highly reliable. Uglier than the last girl to go home at a college bar, but goes bang when you need it to. It doesn't get much more "budget" than a HiPoint.   For a night-stand gun, you could probably do worse.

  44. "...with Smith saying, "You're dying." It's followed soon after by another shot, which investigators said Smith described as "a good, clean finishing shot."   That right there alone would do it in TN too.  As we've discussed here many times, our "castle doctrine" does not license you to execute a perp. If it can be demonstrated that you were no longer in reasonable fear of death or serious injury, the default supposition of that evaporates for your actions past that point.   - OS
