  1. What she should be asking is why the hell isn't there someone at a military installation capable of shooting back.

  2. Home grown jihadists (ex cons).  Bets, anyone?   Damn to hell the military brass that won't allow their own troops to carry self defense tools.  Especially these days.  Every member of the armed forces should be, at minimum, pistol qual'd and at least allowed to carry, if not required.

  3. Can anyone here really say they are surprised? We've already seen the bitch use the graves of children as a podium for her tyrannical BS, why would we possibly think that she would have enough class and dignity not to do the same with the graves of our servicemen/women? Two words, Fu(k Fienstien.

  4. Thanks for the kind words & I appreciate the prayers. My brother hasn't been able to contact me directly, but I finally got word through my parents a while ago that he's fine. Between the shooting, lockdown, & traffic, it was several hours befor he made it home to be with his family & he called our parents & they relayed the good news to me. Apparently he was detained with other witnesses for questioning for a couple hours until they could get some of the chaos worked out. I've been gone most of the afternoon & haven't even seen the news since about noon today so I'm not caught up on all the events myself. My prayers go out to any victims & their families of this tragic shooting.

  5. Found this on Saiga 12 forum   Abu al-Zarqawi died, George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, "How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!" Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!" James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said, "This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!" Thomas Jefferson was next, beat al-Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled "It was Evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence." The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist Leader. As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared. Al-Zarqawi wept and said, "This is not what you promised me." The Angel replied, "I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?"

  6. I've seen a few posts and heard from a few folks that want a TGO gun but are reluctant to build it alone. I'm a firearms instructor with 7 certifications and have taught many build classes including AR, AK, 1911, etc. I always teach AR builds from the smallest part all the way up, it takes anywhere from 2-6 hours with most new people needing 4-6 hours including some basic instruction for maintenance and cleaning. I have a large set of armorers tools, spare parts, instructions, diagrams, etc. so would be willing to coordinate a build class in middle TN area if needed. It's a lot of fun and we've even had a lot of kids, women, elderly folks join in and they usually do better than the "experienced guys"... so don't hesitate to try it if you are on the fence. How often do you get a chance to build your own TGO AR?

  7. Bet you money Obama won't use the words "terrorsit attack". Bet you money Obama won't admit it even if faced with hard facts proving it so. He would never indict his own brethren.

  8. Syria has a massive problem with murder - in the hundreds of thousands over the past few years.  Yet we are supplying them with guns to stop the violence.   Do the powers that be not remember a year ago?  More guns only increase violence, so we need to take them away.  I propose the following:   ----------------------- We petition the UN to implement "Gun Free" zones all across Syria.   We have a chemical weapons buyback program next Saturday and will give the people $50 Best Buy gift cards.   We restrict their magazine capacity to 15 rounds and make all magazines over that illegal.   We buy all of the ammo in the country and transfer it to the Syrian Postal Workers for "range practice" -----------------------   Problem solved... After all, we have to do everything we can because it's "for the children".

  9. Should an electrician know the electrical code? Should a plumber know the plumbing codes? Should a real estate agent know the laws concerning real estate? What's wrong with asking LEO's to know basic cival rights and the Bill Of Rights? I mean crap, it's their rights too? I really think the problem is more the ego's of a particular kind of cop, and the failure of the their superiors and peers to confront them about the issue. Every time they get by abusing someone's rights, the more want to do it. Power Trip. Nothing more, nothing less.

  10. Sorry for all the victims.   This is proof that gun free zones are not safe.  Serious, how much safer could a gun free zone be then a military base Surrounded by a gun free zone (Washington DC)

  13.   Yep. Especially if he entered with Joe Biden's favorite gun, and stole the AR from a cop. And, of course, Obama had to make his comments about another mass shooting. Turns out, if Obama had a crazy uncle, he would look like...

  15. How did this happen? Don't criminals know where you can and can't have a gun?

  16. When I started "hoarding" it was long before the shelves went bare, I am talking about years before any of us had even heard of Obama. I will not be made to feel guilty because I planned ahead and someone else didn't. I shoot regularly and often shoot a lot more than most because I did plan ahead. I don't shoot 22 as much as before but I shoot all my centerfires 10x as much as before. I have zero guilt when I go to the range and mag dump 400 rounds of ammo that most can't replace. And I do it because I have plenty and that is because I planned ahead.   What is wrong with buying from Walmart? That is where I get most of my ammo because their ammo is cheaper than anywhere else and because it can still be found on the shelves. I walked into Walmart yesterday and found more 223 than I could ever want if I didn't reload and it was a lot cheaper than the prices of resellers so why not buy from Walmart.    I have enough to likely last me at least a decade at my current rate of shooting because I did think ahead and just because someone has less ammo doesn't make me the bad person.   Sounds a lot like the story about the grasshopper and ants.

  18. Yep, that's what he's describing.   I've told this story many times elsewhere while demonstrating/teaching flint & steel firestarting so I guess I can share it here as well: When I was 19 (33 years ago, just to give an idea of how long I've been doing this), I was backpacking in the Colorado Rockies. Specifically, having just enlisted in the Army, I was <roughly> following the Rocky Mountain Trail from Durango to Denver for one last "freedom fling" before reporting to Fort Sill, Ok.   Anyway, one evening as I set up camp, I realized that I coudn't find my flint & steel. I'd reorganized my pack that morning and had made a cold camp for my nooning, so it'd been a good 10 hours since I'd seen it. I knew I had matches (although I wasn't sure where they were, either), but hadn't used anything but flint & steel to start a fire in so long that I wasn't sure I could make a fire any other way.   Well, if necessity is the mother of invention, then desperation is the bitchy, whiny wife of inspiration and so I did some looking around and found a piece of iron pyrite (fools gold) about six inches long by two inches wide and a piece of oh, so beautiful Colorado Rose quartz. Using those two items (and some char cloth) I had a fire going in about 3 minutes. (It was then that I found my flint & steel... in a small, lidded pot that I hadn't thought to look in because I didn't have a fire to put the pot on.)   I kept the pyrite & quartz until the end of my trip and then traded them to a Forest Ranger for a ride to the bus station (and been kicking myself ever since because I've never seen another piece of pyrite that big!)   At any rate, I guess my point is that there's a jillion different ways to start a fire. And no matter how hard they are, they're all still really easy if you just practice enough and remember to keep your wits about you.     :hat:     ...TS...

  21.   While I can't speak for JayC, I believe you are misinterpreting what he is saying.  I don't think he is anti-LEO or anti-government.  I do, however,  think he is for limited amount of both entities, which I agree with.  What we have now just isn't working, and it will never work because the model has been proven to be a failure.  The question now becomes, do we want to continue down the same path where government incessantly grows, puts each and everyone of us further in debt with no means to repay, and have our liberties slowly stripped from us, etc...?  The obvious answer should be a resounding, hell no.  If we are to change, why not change to a model that did work for this country?

  22. Jay "The" Carney is running from talks of gun control faster than Bin Laden running from a Cracker Barrel Breakfast Sampler.   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/16/jay-carney-gun-control_n_3936666.html?1379363388   I'm more scared than ever now!  They're. . . learning. :ugh:   This can't be good.   Or, they know something about this attack that they're not sharing yet. And if the early reports are true, this ain't no garden variety "workplace violence" incident.   And THAT'S not good either.

  23. DaveS,   We fundamentally disagree what is wrong with this country...  You see things as the government needs more people and more power to solve our problems...  And I think the government is the biggest problem we have and want to make it smaller and reduce my interactions with it.   We've been trying your method for decades, how is it working out?  My method worked fine for the first 150 years of this country...  and would work again today.   The difference is I've worked on my life...  create businesses and producing...     You sir have taken for a large part of your life working for the government and living off of the productive members of society.  It's not a shocking surprise that somebody who retired from government 'service' (spending at least 20 years or more I'd guess), doesn't understand how business in the real world works, they've never had to make payroll, never had to risk their capital and future only to have useless government regulations stifle and hinder your business.   When the government runs out of money, they just steal more of it from the productive members of society.  They have a bunch of fancy names for this theft, but it's theft pure and simple.

  26.    Just to give you an idea, I just completed an AR in 300AAC for about $850 and it is not what I would consider basic. Prices have come down on most of the components since then as well. If you do some looking around you can build a really good quality rifle for the prices of a cheap rifle. I'd be happy to help you out with building a list and i'd also be willing to help you put it together when you got everything together. I'm a little ways from you so you might find someone closer to help you with assembly but if not my offer stands. Just shoot me a PM if interested.

  28. Berretta I would not worry much about not being able to get a hold of your brother. In situations like this they keep witnesses isolated until they can speak with them and with the amount of witnesses that are likely involved it might take all day. Hopefully he calls soon or they allow him to make a call just to let you guys know he is fine.   If there are multiple shooters I suspect it was not a suicide plot, especially if they were not white. Not saying suicide is a white only phonomenon but it is more a white phenomenon than black. Whether is it work place violence, a "terrorist attack" or somethign else it will likely be used to promote more gun control.

  29. That phone call was to save his wife from her criminal involvement. Shows there is still some humanity left in WW, which of course is the beauty of this series - that such an evil dude can come across as somehow empathetic even after getting into a knife fight with his wife!

  36. This is going to push Congress over the edge because it's too close to home. Some type of gun control legislation will result because of this. Just when all of the hoopla from last year was starting to settle down, prices on arms and ammo are going to jump through the roof again.     Just heard that four passed away on NBC.

Hood.  Wonder if by any chance these guys new Hassan???  It's a way long shot, but just popped into my mind.  Even if they don't know him, I'll be curious to see if they are Muslim.

  44. I'd want to know the reason for the paint job.  Could be it was drug behind a car or something.  If it checks out, then start at $300 and go from there.  The value, in my opinion was ruined when it was painted.  It would just be a shooter.
