  1. Excuse me....but these things are very dangerous!  I felt something crawling on my leg one night, so I told my wife to turn on the light somethings crawling on my leg.  She turned on the light and I threw the covers back. There was a spider just like that sitting on my thigh.  My wife beat it to death with the alarm clock........I couldn't walk for 2 days and my thigh was bruised for over a week..!!!!

  7. Took my FX45 to him due to a good amount of recommendations here, had some cases FTF, trigger was heavy and had a rough spot in the pull.  Basically went in and said  "do to this whatever you would do if it was your personal carry gun" sort of putting some faith in it since I never even heard of the guy before.  He explained that some of the internals on these 1911's use on surface hardened parts, so he wanted to replace all of them, do a new trigger, bit of barrel work and just give it a good massaging.   Got it back the other day and went to the range today and holy smokes did he just do a fantastic job!  I've shot a few higher end 1911's before and outside of a pure competition gun, I would put this up against any of them at any time.  We put 500-600 rounds through it with a lot of rapid firing just trying to get it to act up and not even a hiccup.   He seemed to be pretty straight forward and did let me know there is a design flaw on the gun, where the grips are soft and so thin, they rub against the trigger bow if squeezed hard.  Said that can be fixed with a set of hard grips, so it wasn't a big deal.   If you all need any 1911 work, Tim comes highly recommended and he done such a good job on this one that he'll be getting every bit of our future business.

  8. Picked up a new boston terrier the other day, hadn't had one for a few years and sort of miss having the little snorting things running around the house. Took all of about 10 minutes to make herself at home and take possession of the couch.

  9. I care because 18 year old kids care, and they mean wayyy more to winning games than any head coach. Lets face it. Kids are picking programs because they have Nike or Under Armour, as an Adidas school we have to move forward at the same pace. Kids don't know the Tennessee tradition that everyone is used to from the 80s and 90s. We have sucked for the better part of a decade. We have to rebuild the tradition.

  11. I think you're just loading them to light. Your slide isn't getting all the way back before returning forward. So you end up with a loaded round and an empty case jammed together. You can use your barrel out if the 1911 as a temporary chamber gauge

  13. Further into the segment, O'Reilly comments on the Oprah Winfrey/Swiss sales clerk incident. I don't agree with his assessment that minorities have it tougher in America than whites. That used to be the case, but not anymore. Minorities are given preference in almost every aspect of life nowadays, from hiring to qualifying for student loans, to say nothing about the preferential treatment they get in the criminal justice system. So, on that account, O'Reilly is flat out wrong.   I do, however, agree with his comments about Al "Resist We Much" Sharpton. The man is nothing more than a race pimp.

  15. Yesterday I went to Knoxville for work.  Things went faster than normal so I had a few minutes to kill.  Went to Gander Mountain to take a look at some guns, ammo, and reloading supplies with the ideal of I might buy something.  Got the "got to have something new" thing going on for about a week now.  Not knowing what I want, just want to look to see what catches my eye.  Now, it has been several years since I have been in one of their stores and it did not take me long to remember the reason why.   Prices!!!  They are proud of their guns and ammo.  I don’t see how they stay in business.  Yes they got a good selection, but who is going to pay the price.  Need to say that "got to have something new" feeling went away fast and a bad taste came in my mouth.  So on the way back home I made a stop at Fugate Firearms to see the gang and to get the bad taste out of my mouth.  Looks like it will be several more years before I go back into a Gander Mountain store to kill sometime.  I am going to put them in the same box as Benton's Shooters Supply, a store to stay out of.

  16. As I was waiting in line behind an older gentleman at Wendy's recently,I heard him ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 ...get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.) Being of 'that' age myself, I figured I might as well ask for the discount too. This incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts with different age requirements. I was actually surprised to see how many there are and howsome of them start at the young age of 50. This list may not only be useful for you, but for your friends and family too. 17. Yesterday evening i was out in the storage shed behind my house. While i was looking out a car pulls up to the stop sign by my yard as i live on a corner lot. They throw a bag of mcdonalds garbage out the window right into my yard. Now i ride my bike a lot and i knew exactly when this person stays or lives. Which is 3 streets over. Anyways i wait for night and ride my bike right over to his house and throw his bag of trash right in his driveway by his car. Was that wrong of me? Cause i felt justice when I did it.

  22. His name is Tiger. He has been in the neighborhood for some time. His people moved a few streets away and took him with them. He kept coming back to the old neighborhood and finally he was too wild. We had been feeding him since, he wouldn't let anyone within five feet before he would run away. Recently we noticed he was injured with a wound to the face from a fight. We had been in contact with the Feral Feline Friends and they had provided a trap to try and capture him. The trap wasn't needed. Three weeks ago he was on our porch and allowed my wife to scoop him up and bring him inside. The Feline Friends arranged for neutering and medical care for the next day. They removed the hanging skin and gave an antibiotic shot. Advised antibiotic ointment. Three weeks later, he seems to be settling in. He enjoys jumping into laps and demanding attention He also enjoys rubbing his head on necks and chins.

  23. I second cell phone.   Even if she doesn't use it, a GreatCall (Jitterbug) account with no minutes is $12/month including taxes.   Hell, actually, any cell phone will dial 911, with no account at all. So that seems like viable option to me.   - OS

  26. I remember helping my mom stick S&H Greenstamps into a booklet, and saving them up, taking them into the local redemption store. I don't think they even have those any more.   I remember the hottest TV show was the Six Million Dollar Man. Now the star is hawking hearing aids or something, on TV.   You used to have to get a licence to operate a CB radio.   Banana Seat bicycles, with a playing card clipped to the forks with a clothes pin to make it sounds like a motorcycle.   Anyone remember the electronics sets that had a bunch of electronic parts on a board with little springs attached to them. They came with a hundred wires and you would clip them into the springs and make something, like a radio.

  33. I've bought from Midway since Larry or his wife answered the phone when you called. I did like the free shipping, but I understand why it wasn't working well. I feel they overcharge for shipping. I my be wrong. They've never faltered, however, in their top notch customer service. It's nice to call or email with a question and get a response from someone who knows what they're talking about. You don't get that at a big box store.   More and more, I buy from Graf&Sons. They offer a flat $5.95 shipping fee whether you order a decapping pin or a tractor trailer load of lead. Their prices are often better than Midway too.   I've also found Palmetto State Armory to be a great place to order from.

  35. You need to go back and rewatch BigK, Ted ain't dead, just paralyzed. I think Jesse is going to suicide or O/D on heroin. There is a possibility that he may end up a catalyst to Walts demise though. With his head were its at its hard to say. Hank is going to have an absolute breakdown or heart attack, possibly a chemically induced one... Skylar is going to gather the kids, a huge pile of cash, and cut town. Then there's the riacin. Might could be for Skylar for packing up the kids. Might could be for Hank. Could be for Jesse. I don't think it's for Walt himself. Walt is if nothing else a survivor, even if he were to off himself he would do it much less painfully. Lets also not forget that chemical lady. Throwing her back in the mix could be a distraction but I tend to doubt that she is go e for good as suggested by Skylar. As wierd as it seems I hope Marie ends up with the kids and they live happily ever after. Doubt it, but I think that would be a nice end for them.

  38. Contacting a lawyer after being involved in a shooting is certainly a good idea. Hiring a person injury specialist to fire a lawsuit 8 months after he fact does not appear to be a "preemptive strike". The Complaint contains the Plaintiff's factual basis for filing he lawsuit and it claims the caller did not adequately inform him of the risk involved in responding. In essence, it claims that a 911 caller has to make some evaluation of the actual danger a situation poses to first responders. It is not claiming that the caller purposefully withheld information, just hat she didn't explain the situation better. Second, this isn't LEO bashing. I look disfavorably on both this particular LEO and the lawyer who filed it. But lately, I continue to see some people on this board immediately blame the lawyers for these toes of lawsuits. I can tell you that 99.99% of lawyers would not file a suit like this. That was the only purpose for mentioning at all.

You wouldn't have to retake the class if you had a current Kentucky CCDW permit.  Kentucky and Tennessee have reciprocity.  I moved here from Kentucky in 1997 and simply paid the fee, got fingerprinted and waited for them to mail my HCP to me.     <-- I was wrong about this part.  Outdated info.  My age is showing.   By the way... the roads run both ways between Tennessee and Kentucky.  Since it's better up there and all that.

  46. The handwriting is on the wall guys....What we have, is a group of people in power that have finally reached the point that they can carry out an old plan to bring this country to its knees.  They have bought their way into these positions of power by siphoning our hard earned money out of our pockets, being those that actually WORK for our living, using it to bribe the masses into swapping their freedoms for a meaningless existence of servitude. They have been able to increase their voting base with empty promises that posterity is right around the corner, just give us a little more time. In the meantime, they continue to grow the voting base by writing laws that will allow millions of additional people here illegally to become voting citizens knowing that they are just a very few short years away from having total control of the country and everybody that lives in it.   I'll be totally honest here and say that I really don't think the tide can be turned now. Too many of our conservative "leaders", who were our only hope, are now eunuchs with rings in their noses.....Trophies of an elite Liberal agenda quickly heading towards Socialism and eventually Communism when the right leader takes the reigns.   PRAY for our children.....

Its time to let them know what we think and to tell them we are not happy. Tapatalk ate my spelling.
