I agree. A 6'2" young MAN, even if he was only 17 jumped and wanted to fight a 5'7" Porky and teach him a lesson. He got so involved and heated, he didn't want to stop the "lesson" he was gonna teach the "creepy assed Cracker" and went past the line. GM cried for help for 45 seconds before stopping the threat against his life. That is a VERY long time to take the kind of beating GM received.4 points

what's goin to be the "clincher" closing argument? (ala: "if the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit") George had no choice but to shoot him dead Because Trayvon Martin was bashing his head4 points

Yeah okay. They spit on Jesus and that's fine. Tell a muzzle to kiss your ass and you're a hater. I guess I'm a hater. They're free to practice their religion without persecution and I'm free trash talk it on a conservative Internet gun forum.4 points

Found this pretty girl running down the middle of the road on Old Symrna here in Brentwood. She was obviously looking for people (anybody would do, I think) and was just about trying to climb into any car that would slow down enough. I have a weim, so I couldn't just leave her there. I stopped, opened the back door of the truck and said, "Hop in." She jumped in and rode around with me for about 15 minutes while we tracked down the owners. EDIT: Sorry, I wasn't clear the first time. I managd to find her "keeper" anyway. The owner was this guy's brother and was in Africa. I've seen the guy pulling in and out of his driveway before on my commute so I knew he lived a couple of houses away. I almost wished I could have taken her home to my boy. He would kill to have a playmate.3 points

:screwy: Have you listened to any of the evidence or testimony? At this point, anyone who doubts who was on top and who was on the ground is either not watching the trial, watching a different trial or someone who simply doesn't want to complicate their life with evidence instead of media-generated innuendo.3 points

It's a fiasco because the race-baiters forced charges against a man who is not guilty of the charges. If they actually had a case they could make against Zimmerman he would have been charged by the original DA; they wouldn't have needed a new police chief or a shopped for DA who would go forward even with no evidence; pretty typical for gutless politicians who have no problem ruining an innocent man's life all because they are afraid of standing up to the likes of Sharpton and Jackson.3 points

It is a shame that the lives of snakes are held in higher regard than one's family members ( some of whom are so young, they don't know the danger they may be in). I'm sorry, but if i see a venomous snake near me i shouldn't be fined or arrested for protecting myself or my family. So i won't be reporting any killed snakes on this forum or anywhere else for that matter. Kill them at last resort though. But if the girlfriend or wife( whenever i get married) shouts for me to kill it, well i got to make her feel safe.... ranger or no ranger.....3 points

Every venomous snake I've ever killed attacked me and I truly feared for my life. It WAS SELF DEFENSE..!!!3 points

He was trying to his job as Chief of Police. While attempting to conduct and investigation, the mayor and city manager went against protocol and released the 911 call before the investigation was complete. They also went against protocol by allowing the Martin family (at the time, potential witnesses) to listen to the 911 calls at the same time. I commend the chief for sticking to his convictions. Rather than taking part in something that he knew was wrong, he was willing to risk his job and livelihood. Most people would turn their head and keep their mouth shut.3 points

Yep, took about 4-1/2 years of my life to reach this magical minor milestone. In that time, I woke up, got my HCP, C&R, NRA life, JPFO, GOA, & RWVA cards; and more guns and ammo than I care to mention. Oh, and shot my first Appleseed, and came up 27 points short of a patch. I couldn't have done it without you, TGO. Well, maybe I could have, but probably wouldn't have. Thanx to all, Scott2 points

I think this sums up the situation better than anyone else has explained it. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is exactly what happened.2 points

hearing the "experts" saying a couple of days to deliberate, but really who knows. Heard O'Mara say today he does not write up his closing arguments but rather knows what he wants to say and just goes with it. I am hopeful to see how he does. I do not understand why lesser charges is part of the game. I understand it is Florida law to do this but it seems sort of like playing poker and getting to change the bet after all the cards are laid out to see. Seems kind of F'd up. But it is what it is. I really do not think the prosecution has proved anything that is contested. If life was fair Zimmerman will go home a free man next week.2 points

I think if you are going to say that Zman "should" have stayed in his car, then you can absolutely say that TM "should" have ran home. Fact is, Zman "could" have stayed in his car and this may have been averted <OR> TM "could" have ran home and this may have been averted. Fact is, neither of them did what they "could" or "should" have. They both have equal blame on that front. In the end it doesn't matter what they could or should have done. There was an altercation, Zman was fearful for his life (I do believe this although it could be argued and that is why there is the case) and ultimately he killed TM. No matter who could have, should have, or would have done anything, I don't believe the prosecution has proven any other scenario than what Zman has consistently said, which was self-defense.2 points

Crusades were a result of Islamic aggression on Christians, in the 11th Century Islamic Turkish Tartars siezed the Holy City & butchered 3000+ Christians living in Jerusalem at the time, & then set about systematically robbing, raping & beheading Christian pilgrims traveling to/from the Holy Land. Blaming the Christians for the Crusades is sort of like blaming the United States for Japan's bombing of Pearl Harbor.2 points

What seems to have been ignored throughout this fiasco.....If this community is so small...(the prosecutor said only 3 small streets?) why didn't TM just run on home if he thought he was being followed? Seems to me he doubled back to confront and attack the "Cracker" that was "following" him? This would also support the claim that TM took all the time in the world to circle GZ's truck and wait for a chance to attack him? I also don't understand the talk about a "phantom bush" that the prosecution mentiond and that GZ talked about. In the video I saw, there was shrubs and bushes along every residence big enough to hide behind on a dark and rainy night.2 points

I saw this very thing happen at Cheatham WMA one time. The old guy announced to everyone at the range he was going to set up his new chrono and all were welcome to use it. He un-boxed it set it up, then promptly blew it to hell with a .357 wheel gun. it looked like a helicopter exploded with all the pieces fluttering down. I thought I was going to piss all over myself I was laughing so hard.2 points

If the jury is as tired of La Rionda's long winded insubstantial rant as I am, they'll acquit Zim if O'Mara doesn't even present one. - OS2 points

Child abuse? Are you fkn kidding me? 3rd degree murder based on child abuse is absolutely ridiculous. This whole trial is BS and this proposed charge takes the cake. Regardless, if you are ever in a self defense position make sure you stop and ask the assaulter their age....2 points

I thought some of you folks would be interested in my response to this incident. Here is an excerpt of my blog post: I also discuss some of the pertinent case law surrounding checkpoints and the issue related to the drug dog. I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts. https://thescruffypulpit.wordpress.com/2013/07/09/an-independence-day-checkpoint/1 point

I added the Range Report #2 and a final photo to the first post. I wound up having to use a .375" tall front sight insert to get the elevation I needed to get on paper.1 point

I agree. I am of the opinion that a lot of Muslims here will act a lot different if they are surrounded by Muslims protected by Sharia Law, will take the protection from it over what we call freedom...what is left of it anyway. They will be more free under Sharia than we are.1 point

Whats worse is that I think that's the network saying things like there is "little hope" for a conviction? What they hell??? Why would you "hope" for a conviction if the evidence doesn't support one unless your head is so far up your ass you can see your own stomach.1 point

You know I'm not sure where you stand anymore, because this trial just went from stupid to above and beyond BS. It's so biased that it's going to sent a terrible precedence that the state is going to have to deal with for a while.1 point

Irregardless of the "what happens"; i think its very intesting that this is even comming up. The last talk of "succession" started the Civil War. I think it demonstrates just how sick a large majority of the citizenry is of the "political class" Colorado has been taken over by carpetbagging idiots from Kalefornia (...much like Florida...) and other sourland states. Look what is happening there. Thanks for posting this interesting bit of information. leroy1 point

No body , No crime . What snake , Just hear say , everyone knows you can't believe everything you read on the net . We have problems with Copperheads here. Last one we came across was less than 10 feet from the back of the garage and I almost stepped on it. Before that 2 at the barn , This was a few years ago before I started cleaning everything up . Also the reason I have been cleaning up. Others close by ( less than 1 mile ) have had rattlesnakes dead in the road. I also talked to someone who had a rattlesnake in his yard a week ago. But we haven't had any that we saw here yet. I have been clearing the brush around here and going to have a nice field with targets at the bottom of the hill.1 point

Sorry but there is no excuse for not returning a customer's call for days/weeks. It's not like they didn't return a call that day - but the OP tried calling and leaving messages for weeks. I don't care how few employees a shop has, that is just bad customer service.1 point
