I'll probably end up buying the rifle since i make alot more and letting him use it on permanent loan since he'd feel bad and always want to pay me back for it if I just gave it to him, just to keep that thrill alive. Between him and my son they went through nearly $400 in ammo that day but they will never know that. It was worth it for my son to enjoy it and for me to break through someone's fears and watch them enjoy it. His fear dropped considerably after he seen i was right there and quick to jump in if something seemed off. I didn't yell like his uncle and dad did to him about it way back then, I calmly would show him how and calmly correct him as needed. Reactivate targets helped too lol4 points

A great documentary came out in the '80's about one that was caught and lived with a family up in Washington or Oregon.4 points

I wish they would just make the HCP an endorsement on our license - get rid of the extra piece of plastic with the same number on it as my driver's license altogether.4 points

kind of a misleading title to the story. How about having news stories that are truthful and stick to fact. While I do not agree with the outcome in this instance i do question why a two year old story is now making the news. Also why does the title mentions pliers and not knives. I dunno but I am guessing that having knives in the classroom is the issue not pliers. But then saying a teacher was suspended for having knives in class is not as sensational as saying he had pliers.4 points

The economy is in the toilet and welfare is probably larger than ever before. They are trying to exempt themselves from the bs health care. So with just those few things that are way more important than background checks I think they already have plenty on their plate. If we want to start saving kids then lets first talk about the million aborted every year and we get that number down then we can talk about the ones they use for political gain on bs agenda. By no means am I devaluing the lives of those lost from acts of criminals but sometimes I believe they cant see the forest from the trees.3 points

Everyone seems to own a Mosin these days, so I thought I'd join the crowd :) It's a round receiver and has refurb mark on the stock. There were three on the rack, and this one looked the best to me with the brass. I haven't cleaned it yet, and it is loaded with cosmoline. I wiped as much as I could from the exterior with a dry rag. I can't really check the bore yet because it has so much of that junk in it. I wiped enough away from the crown to see that it has not been counter bored, and the crown looks good. The bolt is super smooth and easy to operate. Barrel, buttstock, Mag floor plate and bolt have matching numbers. Stamped 1943 with Soviet emblem. The bayonet has a different number. It came with bayonet, oiler can, pouch, cleaning kit and sling. This is my first one, and I didn't know much about Mosins when I saw it on the rack. The impulse hit me to buy it, and I'm happy to have one. Now just have to clean off all that gravy it's been wearing and I'll be off to see how she shoots!2 points

I've just been turning in the larger resellers for suspected tax evasion. It only cost me a little time researching them online and a stamp for the envelope. Got one that I totalled up over $2k in online ammo sales in the last 3 months. :wave:2 points

P O S!!! Why is always them against the "NRA"? They totally disregurd that the NRA represents us( a lot more than the 10% as they claim) and is not just a radical entity.2 points

Why file charges when you know a jury is going to find him not guilty when the defense raises reasonable doubt? Was he in fear for his life? Likely. There is no victim in this case and no hope of conviction. Who in their right effing mind would press charges?2 points

Good read, glad you posted it. No matter what happens in 2014 and 2016 elections, it's irrefutable that the progressive socialist agenda has reset the bar, and conservatism has lost much ground...and there's still 3.5+ years left under the current Destroyer in Chief. As the article concludes: "...American progressives will eventually seek a new mask for their authoritarian agenda. But their next wave will begin from a start line much further from the U.S. founding than the line Obama inherited. Much more than wishful thinking and high electoral hopes will be required to turn back the results of the Obama presidency. America, whether she fully realizes it yet or not, is fighting a whole new war now, on what is, for her, uncharted territory. Until Americans come to terms with this new terrain, all talk of moving beyond Obama is just tilting at windmills." Of course the "new mask" looks almost certainly to be an old one: Hillary Rodham Clinton. - OS2 points

Not possible. The Obama administration, FEMA, and DHS are all buying up all the ammo so us common folks can't get it. Which federal agency is paying you to say that? :stir:2 points

I like. Of course, I would have to replace perfectly good MBUS sights to find a place on one of my rifles.2 points

If they can do it to them they can do it to us. (Limit buying) This is BS. DHS isn’t keeping us from getting ammo. Hoarders and those trying to make a profit off the panic buyers is why we don’t have a good supply of ammo. If there was a shortage of resources (ammo) manufacturing would be steeping up to fill the demand. But they aren’t because they know it won’t last long enough to justify the cost.2 points

I swear people now days have gotten to where they use the word "Actually" in almost every paragraph that they say. It is over used badly in my opinion. For example: I actually caught the ball. And here is the same sentence as it should be in my opinion : I caught the ball. There is no reason to add the word "actually" . I am 40 yrs old and it makes no sense to me to talk like this and add other unnessasary words. How do you guys feel ? Am I crazy or what ? I admit that I am anal about things but this drives me up the wall.1 point

Likewise. Dick's is on my crap list along with CTD and a few others. It may not matter to them, but they won't have to worry about ever seeing any of my $$ again.1 point

Thanks for the offer but I'd rather see what little i have left be enjoyed before I'd take a hand out, that's just the way I was raised. Hopefully soon it will be back to normal. I can't hunt anymore due to health so as long as I have a box of ammo for my carry gun I'm ok as long as it's enjoyed.1 point

Yep..that IS the shame of it all. Too bad the ammo PIMPS that buy up the ammo at regular prices and regular outlets, then sell it at 3 times the price and the ammo WHORES that buy it at those prices don't feel any shame for their "It's all about ME" attitudes.1 point

line of sight is the key. I spoke to a Sirius tech on the phone one day about where the satellite is in the sky. I told him where I was in TN and he said that due west would be the spot to make sure it could see if I was sitting stationary and wanted to listen. I used to use it to listen to NFL games and would have to get the old truck parked in such a way that one of the big tree trunks was not in the way.1 point

Have any legislators purposed a bill to make Tennessee the 5th Constitutional carry state? They passed the TFFA (even though no one will test it). They passed legislation to allow guns in bars; they drove the parking lot bill down the throats of private business. The next obvious step is to make it legal for all citizens to be able to carry. We are at the end of “Baby Stepsâ€; it’s time to join the big boys.1 point

I used to work for a Land Rover dealer and I was told that they can add any factory option at the dealer it just costs a lot to do it. I would force the dealer to do it or find you a Land Rover that already has it and has the same options and no more miles than you have, all at their cost. I have seen it done with a ripped seat so this should be doable as well.1 point

I would say yes as long as it is in writing. I believe there is a 3-Day return period by law as well, so either should allow you to take it back.1 point

One of things I hate at TGO... Liberal Media style Thread Topics... It would be rather hypocritical if they did not do anything to the teacher for innocently bringing a bladed weapon on to campus. The teacher was not suspended for showing Pliers he was suspended for bringing what would be deemed a weapon to school. FTA: "He showed students several tools that he used in his classroom including wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, a box cutter, and a small pocketknife."1 point

I was/have been a cyclist for years. I have never gotten into the road bike thing though. As a traffic investigator I have just seen to many bad situations with cyclist and motorcycles as well when they find out cars dont give. Something that gets me with cyclist is they say share the road but yet they break the lays when it is convenient. I issued a ticket to a cyclist who passed a loading school bus and the guy came unglued. I have seen them blow stop signs, exceed the speed limit, not stop at traffic lights and just about everything else possible.1 point

Alot of the reenactors left Saturday due to weather. We held the battle on Sunday as scheduled and due to the mud and ground conditions, we had to use a JD tractor to place the guns in. All in all it was fun. I will post some pictures tomorrow un "Show and Tell". Thanks for attending! By the way, "mud" was not the word for it! Dave S1 point

If I were in charge this is how things would be. Upon conviction they will have all hair removed from their body. Preferably through the use of some sort of pill or treatment. If not they will at a minimum have their head/face shaved. After that it will never happen again while in custody. While incarcerated food would meet nutritional requirements without any consideration as to how it tasted. The entire meal would be blended together and served as a soup. They will be issued a cup when they enter their cell and that is what they will drink their food from, no utensils of any kind will be given. If they decide they are going to throw the soup flour will be added and bake it like a giant bisquit. They would be fed warm soup for one meal and cold bologna sandwichs for the other meal. Maximum of 2,500 calories per day. If an inmate requires healthcare after convicted it will be their family that pays for it, not the taxpayers. If the family can't afford it too bad and if the inmate dies then the organs can be harvested. If an inmate is on death row, or serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole, their organs can be harvested at any time for the benefit of the law abiding even if the inmate is still alive. Once convicted any money or valuables in their possession at the time of arrest will immediately be turned over to their victims. If it was a "victimless" crime then it will go towards the housing and feeding of the inmate. There will be no such thing as commissary or inmate fund accounts. Once convicted the only communication with the outside will be with their attorney and by mail only. The inmates will not be allowed to use any phones. There will be no such thing as visitation or conjugal visits. There will be no televisions, no excercise equipment and the only time they spend outside of the 8x10 cell will be the 15 minute cold shower they take weekly. Their toothbrushes will only be the head with the bristles with no handle. When inmates leave their cell they would wear a full face motorcycle helmet with the faceshield painted. This will prevent attempted assaults and escapes. Inmates will only wear underwear while in custody. The jail will be kept at 65 degrees year round. They will not be issued a matress, blanket or sheets. Their bunk will either be made of concrete or steel.1 point

I'm all for it. We don't have enough taxes to begin with. Everybody needs to contributing their fair share. :shake: Honestly, I don't know why they are d**king around with this weak piece of legislation. They might as well just go ahead and confiscate our paychecks and retirement accounts. Then they give us back what they think we need to live. After all, 90% of American people support it, it is for the children, and if just one person might be saved it needs to be done.1 point
