  2. Buying only what you "need" is relative. This week I only need 100 rounds for the range, but if I can't find it for another 5 weeks I "need" 500 rounds. OP congrats on the score.

  3. I'm all for it.  We don't have enough taxes to begin with.  Everybody needs to contributing their fair share.  :shake:   Honestly, I don't know why they are d**king around with this weak piece of legislation.  They might as well just go ahead and confiscate our paychecks and retirement accounts. Then they give us back what they think we need to live.  After all, 90% of American people support it, it is for the children, and if just one person might be saved it needs to be done.

  4. I hate to say it but the governance of Memphis has been left to unquailified fools who are doing more to destroy a once great city than preserving it.

  5. Thats kinda the situation i thought you to be in based on your original post. No one likes to shoot down to empty and then be completely out wondering when the next time they will have anything will be. I personally reload and have some supplies so i wouldn't have needed that much 9mm so no, i probably wouldn't have bought 800 rounds. That being said if i didn't reload and had no reserves i would have been tickled to find 800 rounds so that i could do a modest amount of shooting and not be bone dry after doing so. I personally have been about out of .22 which my wife has started to shoot and enjoy and for the 1st time since the madness i found a winchester 333rd pack a few days ago for her. I was glad to have it but thats it 333 rounds and we are back in the same boat again so yes if there had been more there i would have bought more. To me, until someone is out or almost completely out they shouldn't cast stones at someone that has been and then got the opportunity to not be. Just my opinion and it may be worth no more than i charged for it.

  6.   I 100% agree.  I go through 1000s of 9mm and .45 every year and only buy in lots of 1000 or 2000 at a time.  That may last a month.  So why all the heartache if a guy buys a case when he has a chance? Some of us actually buy and shoot that quantity.   Some people play golf or go boating and some of us spend our money on ammo and range fees.   Joe, I hope you burn that entire box through that M&P in one range session!

  7. It isn't getting any better. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-04-26/total-us-debt-gdp-105 We're almost to $17,000,000,000,000.00 ($17 trillion) in debt now. Visualized: http://youtu.be/iTBODoBaCns http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/us_debt/us_debt.html http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/federal_reserve-qe3/money_printing-2012-2013.html Let's hear it for a total failure of leadership on all sides, Dems, Reps, etc., for wasting time on stupid crap that steals freedom and liberty such as anti-2A gun control, while we crumble financially. The goals and priorities of our government are backwards and corrupt!

  8. Some people won't want to hear this, but Memphis is a microcosm of this country as a whole. Memphians and other American voters are voting for sh#t box candidates as a means of thumbing their noses at the perceived powers that be. If you perceive that you have always been crapped on, why not put someone in office who makes you feel good and irritates the person or persons who you perceive have wronged you. I hope that this statement makes sense.

  9.   It is rather difficult to get enthusiastic when one has to decide between a piece of s*** and a pile of s***.   Liberals rally around their candidates because they know that even through compromise, they will still gain ground.  When Republicans compromise, we always lose ground.  I will say it again as I did in my earlier posts, pointing out and/or complaining about the flaws of a candidate (past or present) in no way reflects on the future success of Republicans candidates.  If Republicans field strong candidates then their chance for success is good, and if they field weak candidates or people vote for them in the primaries because they are perceived to be the most electable, they will more than likely lose.

  10. Ok, Jones story.   We were playing in Wisconsin... sold out 15,000 seats... he does "He Stopped Lovin' Her Today"... I play the harmonica part, and Sue Richards does the female "ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo" thing... when he's finished, he comes over and says, "Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Sue Richards!" Everyone applauds. Then, "And over here on the harmonica, ol' Mike Doooo-shet! Take a bow!"   And he hits me in the nuts. In front of 15,000 people.

  11. I don't like the signs. The signs are very unprofessional. In my opinion, you can't pay our public servants enough, but those billboards cross the line. I would like to see the officers get a pay increase, but I would also like to get a more professional department in return. I'm more afraid of some of our officers than I am of the cities gang members.

  13. Exactly. This isn’t going on in all jails and prisons. If it’s going on here they need a change in administration.

  18.   first of all i did NOT "circumvent store policy" the policy was 10 boxes per customer per day ... the owner and his wife were both present and they both know me AND my wife, even though we are married we are still 2 different people, so im sorry if the fact that i finally after many months of looking found a decent bit of ammo but i didnt realize that my fellow gun enthusiasts were so in need that they would turn on me like the fat guy in the donner party, secondly i used the term "wiped them out" fairly loosely .. after the 16 boxes me and my wife picked up there were still probably 20 left on the table of the same kind (was on a folding table at the end of the counter with a few other calibers/brands) ... and MANY other boxes of other brands of 9mm behind the counter, i did however pick up  the last 2 boxes of .22 bulk they had, picked up the first 2 (it was 1 box per customer per day) the day before right as they closed, which is why i knew to be there when they opened the next day lol

  27.   Yes. Absolutely  and loudly....YES!   Inmate work programs should be reinstated. Non-paying work. No cig money and all that crap. No easy trash pickup programs either. Actual work. 10+ hours a day of manual labor.   Prison and jail is supposed to be a puishment. Not a paid vacation from the outside world.

  29. +1 Last time I ran across bulk .22 there were 5 packs of 525 @ $24. There was no limit. I took 2 packs (one for myself and one for a buddies 15 year old son). They asked if I wanted more. I told them I though some others deserved the opportunity to be able to purchase ammo and enjoy our sport.

  30. Pretty happy with Taurus . Fed Ex just brought me the rifle back . Repaired with the broken part and one spring being replaced . Total time from me and back was 2 weeks and 1 day . It does look like it may be an updated part . The old one reminded me of what I call pot metal . It probably wasn't but that is what it looked like. The replacement looks like blued steel .

  32. well truth be told i HAVENT been shooting much because i didnt want to go through what little i had on hand simply because i couldnt find anymore ... my wife had the misfortune of becoming addicted to shooting just before all the ammo dried up and she has been dieing to get out and shoot the SR22 and M&P22 more so now we have that option .. i have 3 9mm handguns i havent even been able to shoot yet, and now hopefully she can step up from the .22 to the 9mm soon

  34. Have to stay away from the larger breeds, we're looking for a couple of smaller yappie dogs, one will be a pound doggie and we'll be keeping an eye out for a boston terrier for me later down the road.  They pop up occasionally, and we're in no hurry on that one.

  39. Bad week?  No not at all.  I helped out several clients with serious problems and signed up a few new ones.  Ammo-wise, several times this week I saw it for sale online at good prices and passed up on it.  I either don't need it or I'm pretty confident the price will be even lower in a month or so.  Not to sound elitist, but for these people who camp out at Walmart and such...dude I make 10 times more in an hour than you'll make waiting to buy and then resell that box of ammunition.  So while you're standing in line, I'm getting a good night's sleep, then going to work at a profession I love, making good money, and at my leisure I can check all the online ammo websites from the comfort of my home or office, and buy it for about the same price you did.  So go ahead, stand in line, drive around all day, but what you should really do is take that work ethic and put it into a marketable skill.

  44. The police officer should be arrested for civil rights violations under the color of law, kidnapping under the color of law, and felony stupid under the color of law :)  This guy needs to be at the very least sitting in prison of the rest of his life.   Arresting a kid over a t shirt?   I mean it's kinda understandable that some stupid teacher and principal will over react and do something stupid...  nothing that a lawsuit and firing of both can't fix...  but an officer should have enough common sense to say 'that's not something we need to be involved in, if you want to suspend the kid call his parents to come pick him up, I'm out of here.'
