I lost one of my 2 GSD's last month -- the thing that sucks about dogs is you love them more than humans and when they die it sucks twice as bad RIP in Burton 8 points

I've said this before and still believe it. The love of a dog is the closest thing on this earth to the love that God has for us.6 points

One prayer I pray quite often is "Lord, help me to be the kind of person my dog already thinks I am".6 points

GREAT video. My old hound is 19. She's deaf, half-blind, and has arthritis. But she still "talks" to me each and every time I step outside, and loves me better than my better half does. I thought I was saving her from a shelter 18 years ago, after my last dog passed away. Turns out she was meant to watch over me and my home and family instead.4 points

I bought myself a shirt before the big rally in Nashville a couple of months back. Front and back has a picture of an AR-15 and the words "Come and take it" on the front and back, the back in a pretty large print. I've worn the shirt several times but no one has commented on it, admittedly I don't get out into public all that often and have a habit of wearing a light jacket a lot to help with concealment. A couple of days ago happened to be wearing the shirt when I went to run some errands. I had to go by the court house which is a no civilians with guns zone and I wanted to drive the convertible, I will not leave my gun unattended in that car because the locks don't work so I just left the gun at home. As I ran my errands I had two people approach me at different stores and compliment my shirt. The cool thing was that I no one said anything negative about it. I know that you will get away with that kind of thing better down here in rural Blount County than you will a lot of other places but I was glad to get a positive reaction.4 points

Why would you go and insult dogs like that? Those two rank as rodents at best. Vermin of one variety or another to be sure.3 points

I would have had my kids write in one of the blanks: "Jap soldiers carried Chinese babies on their bayonets and killed a million Chinese in a month. And dear teacher my daddy says we shouldn't have nuked em at all, we should've continued fire bombing their cities and burning them all alive in their paper houses for what they did to Americans at Bataan. Peace"3 points

Do away with the image of the guy with the guns and it's a cool tee.3 points

If I don't see a warrant, we trade fire. End of story. You're not coming in without warrant or invitation. If I die in the process so be it.3 points

I bought a new carry gun - the Gen 4 Glock 26 - test fired in March so this baby is "fresh out tha factory". I wasn't sold on the FDE color, so I came home and slept on it. Turns out this color is harder to come by than the black, so I told myself if it was still there this morning I would pick it up (Personal Defense Options). The good news is that with the gun purchase, I was able to buy 2 boxes of FMJ and 1 box of Hollow Point .9mm :woohoo: Here it is. I have given up on a Shield, so I am very happy with the 26:2 points

Bloomberg and Cuomo both want to be President. Before any of you say it can’t happen; look at who we have now.2 points

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. We've clearly got enough interest. I'll keep everyone apprised of progress, and when it goes, everyone will have plenty of time to make payment before we order. To any of our vendors, we're likely going to be looking for a few to facilitate transfers.2 points

It's a bit too much for me. I think some pro 2A apparel can come off as a bit too extreme, and I think this one does. Not to mention I just generally don't like the style.2 points

This is exactly right. The founders never intended on an income tax; they would roll over in their graves at the idea of the federal reserve; if they knew the federal government could tax a farmer for wheat grown in his own field and consumed only by his family they would start another revolution. And the list goes on and on and on. The country we have now is almost 180 degrees opposite what the founders...well founded.2 points

if they needed a gun why didn't they just go to a gunshow? Of course this act does prove that open carrying makes you a target.2 points

I agree with him. We MUST loosen the constraints on the 2nd to ensure "the security of a free State".2 points

I didn't much care for the original grips that came on the Kimber Pro Raptor II, so I ordered a set of these grip panels from RAASCO Grips. They are double diamond pattern in "tortoise" color. I'm really impressed with the fit and finish. If you're looking for some nice grip panels at a reasonable price, check these folks out. http://raascogrips.com/1 point

I put 10 in my cart but then thought through the last time I even shot 223 out of the AR. My stash will get me by until things quiet down and now the next guy can have some. Chaps my ass at the idea that the next guy will most likely turn around and double his "investment" though.1 point

Let's solve this with a little liberal logic. Terrorists use fireworks. Fireworks come from China. Ban the Chinese!1 point

If A N Y O N E attempts forced entry into my home, they will be met with at much force as I can bring to bear. I don't make a habit of being around people who are bail jumpers or crooks. My first instinct is going to be home invasion and I shall react accordingly.1 point

I like the message, but having been into muzzle loaders and American history for so long and so hard, rather than the Gangster (which practically screams to me, "Come on over and slap the sh*t out of me because I talk loud, but don't have the **** to back it up.") I'd like to see a somewhat understated Mountaineer type gentleman with a full stock flintlock complete w/shooting bag and powder horn. ...TS...1 point

and if they do not move here, I think anyone can post to gunboards to sell and that site is geared toward milsurp specifically. Be sure you know what you have etc, some stuff has gone up in value significantly in that time period. Selling out of state..... depends on the laws in both states as well as the federal laws and also matters if the other person has an FFL. The easy way is shop to shop --- go to your local gun store, ask them to ship it to his local gun store, buyer eats the fees, the local store is in charge of any paperwork /state nonsense for the buyer.1 point

Since you are benfactor you could start posting some of them for sale here in the classifieds. There are plenty of us who appreciate the old classics.1 point

We certainly didn't cause it, but we certainly could take better care of our messes. It's a real bummer to hear every time they discover those giant flotillas of garbage out on the ocean. I think there were 2-3 BEFORE the tsunami. I'm no tree hugger by any means but I can't stand to look at piles of trash laying around.1 point

I talked to my greek professor about getting it tattoed. He explained the origin of it before I could say anything and thought it was an "interesting" idea. He's like 80 years old and teaches political science, lol! I'm thinking about just the plain original lettering on my left sleeve. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a5/Molon_labe.jpg1 point

It is indeed true that the machine gun ban was a last minute amendment which was passed by voice vote, and erroneously, for which you can thank Charlie Rangel. - OS1 point

A friend of mine worked at some place that built weedeaters. They built Craftsman and another couple "higher-end" brands. He said other than plastics and stickers, they were the exact same weedeaters.1 point

I bought a cheap weed eater at walmart 8 years ago. It still starts and runs fine. Spark plug and gas mixture is the key to keep em running.1 point

After reading through all of these post I would concur with most of what was said about protecting your safe from rusting when you place it flat on a floor. We recommend to all of our customers that they place a piece of plywood under their safe if they are taking it off the pallet. This will help keep the moisture from staying under the safe, in my 20 years of experience I have seen the exact problem mentioned when a safe is not placed on a moisture barrier. Even on a carpeted floor you still need to do the same thing because the carpet will hold moisture and when you move the safe you have a rust spot on the carpet. As for leaving a safe on a pallet or 4 x 4's and then bolting it down , this is a good way to avoid water getting in your safe during a small flood but it doesn't provide much protection against prying because you can get a prybar under the safe and just pull the bolts out very easily. If you do that screw in a piece of material on the front of the base to keep someone from get a bar under the safe. As for most safes having paint on the bottom of the safe. Most of your better quality safes will have paint on the bottom to control rust but your cheaper priced safes do not. MB The Safe House1 point
