what i am going to say will make some here mad. before you buy a home system, any system, i would check on the respond time of the police. if it take 20 minutes before they show up then you are wasting your money. if it takes 5 minutes, you are still wasting your money. does the alarm company call you first to see if you did not set the alarm off before calling the police? if so more time more time wasted. it take less than 5 minutes to steal you blind. the bad guys know how much time they have before the police arrive and they will be in and out with your stuff long before the police show up. so you lose in two way, the stuff the bad guys steal and the money the alarm companies stead. the only thing that i have seen that will work in today world is a big dog. a big barking, mean looking dog inside your house has shown to stop more bad guys than the alarm company sign in the front yard.3 points

A DEA Agent stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked to an old rancher. He told the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher... said, "okay, but don't go into that field over there...", as he pointed out the location. The DEA Agent verbally exploded and said, "look mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!" Reaching into his rear back pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher. "See this badge?! This badge means I can go wherever I want... On any land! No questions asked, no answers given! Do you understand old man?!" The rancher kindly nodded, apologized, and went about his chores. Moments later the rancher heard loud screams, he looked up and saw the DEA agent running for his life, being chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis Bull...... With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it was likely that he'd sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. The old rancher threw down his tools, ran as fast as he could to the fence, and yelled at the top of his lungs...... "YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR BADGE!"3 points

Freedom goes both ways. Everyone has the freedom to price their items as they see fit. Everyone has the freedom to whine about the prices. And you have the freedom to whine about the whiners.3 points

Gangbangers will gladly pay that much. Gotta have something for the "glock-glock". Cheaper Than D!ck, --whatever. Oh, wait, and now Glen Beck endorses them too... wonder how much that cost them? Maybe they're paying him in .22LR bricks?? No thanks. Have a nice life, CTD. You won't ever have to worry about filling an order for me ever again. Ever. Wow. CTD pi$$es me off so much that even my non-sequitur rant has non-sequiturs.3 points

Ooh, it's the free market. An item is worth what someone will pay for it. Supply and demand in action. Did I cover them all? Screw CTD.3 points

Stopped in to see if ammo had came in but it had not. But they had 3 boxes of 7.62x51 at $19.99 per box so I got one. Went back to the gun counter and they received a truck but hadn't opened anything. So I hung out for about 30 minutes while he went through them to see if they had any Ruger 10-22's. I've been wanting one for my daughter and always miss the shipments. Sure enough!!! $199 with wood stock, which is what she wanted. Can't wait to surprise her tonight!!2 points

Im going to start going as soon as I get off of work at 630 in the morning. If thats when they get the ammo in I can pick some up for others as well.2 points

We have bigger problems than worrying about a “Police Stateâ€. Illegals are being given amnesty, letting them vote is next, drugs are being legalized, patriots are few and far between, moral decay is accepted. Many people will be wanting/needing more Police in the very near future.2 points

He is alive Indeed! I was dead because of my sins and because my sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made me alive with Christ and forgave all my sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against me and took it away by nailing it upon the cross. Death is swallowed up in victory, O death, where is your victory? O death where is your sting? His Grace, through the power of Christ over the cross has made me alive, indeed.2 points

You know and Easter egg hunt with eggs filled with tannerite would be pretty fun. Sit up on a hill and find them with a scoped rifle and shoot them. Also why should any of us care that the politicians children don't get to look for eggs on the White House lawn?2 points

Excellent defense AR  People dislike Palin like we dislike KingNothing but it's very illogical to me to think Palin is incompetent and not capable of running a government or doesn't have our country's best interests first. IF we had someone better than McCain in 2008 along with Palin, I'm sure some people would think more positively of her by now. :usa:2 points

And one more thing. If the seller is asking too much for you then make them an offer or tell them but by PM only. Some sellers honestly think it is a fair price but if enough people counter offer with lower prices the seller might come down. But again use a PM if it can be viewed as negative in any way like public ally offering someone 10% of their asking price. If you have nothing positive to say then don't post it. If you absolutely must say something then take it to PM's but be respectful. Name calling, insults or using profanity will be addressed.2 points

Yeah, and I got hung up on a transfer from PSA for two weeks because their new address didn't match their FFL, so had to wait till they worked that out and got the right one to PSA. Wasn't that big a deal, was just a lower and didn't much care exactly when I got it. The address shown on site is now correct, took them a while to get it changed, since it's a graphic and not text. I also transferred another one about two weeks ago, no probs, so they have all that straightened out. Still willing to pay the $25 and pop over to Alcoa, as they are great folks, call you within minutes of the shipment coming in, always friendly, etc, and except for the one glitch during their move, everything always goes smoothly. They also have been able to keep a surprisingly good supply of various guns since the panic, and their prices are excellent for the most part, compete with online ones. They're my go-to shop. - OS2 points

Yes. The case is not fully supported by the barrel. The smile area is in open air when charge goes off. So too much pressure causes that part of the case to bulge.2 points

It will be a chilly day in hades before I pay that for 9mm ammo. Or buy from CTD.2 points

It is sad. Tyrrany is like cancer. Tyrrany will not stop until the host succumbs. If the cancer keeps spreading the patients will die. The statist parasites are feeding off of the wealth of the once most powerful, free Republic in the history of the world. The hemorrhage is stemming from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Congress as well. I’m sure our AEGIS class ships are in the area and prepared to knock down whatever NK launches. The threat of nuclear war is ridiculous. They may well try to launch a nuke, but we don’t need nukes to neutralize NK; and won’t use them. The problem (and loss of American lives) will come if there is hand wringing on the part of Obama in the event of an act of war. Have our bombers deliver a few MOAB’s to NK’s top leaders; and it’s over. You would think after Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan our leaders would learn. Use the technology we have developed and end these threats with extreme prejudice.2 points

It's not "a load of dung." All the UN has to do is post signs that declare the area a War Free Zone and everything will be fine.2 points

Perhaps his most lucid moment in years, I'll give him that. But that ain't saying very much. - OS2 points

Agreed. I'm all for wiping this little stain (Kim) off the planet, but nuclear war must be avoided at all cost if possible. The day a nuclear weapon is used in war will be the opening shot of Armageddon.2 points

Cabelas is the best bet. They seem to be getting some in every week or so. Have to check early in the AM doesn't last long. I got a brick (525) of Remington golden bullets for 28.00 shipped. Gave it to my buddy today so he could take his kids shooting. Hated to let it go but, I DID IT FOR THE CHILDREN. (why does that phrase sound familiar)1 point

I haven't seen a single damn round of anything in the 2/3 Walmarts I go to in months.......no really. They can screw themselves...I'll never buy anything from them. Maybe it's policy, sleazy employees or whatever they can keep those places to themselves.1 point

I guess the battle is just going to continue until the end. This is the libtards reponding to the local law enforcement's refusal to enforce gun laws that infringe. I wonder when these libtards are going to figure out that they're going to run short on their hired guns. They are attacking the only people that can help them carry out their plans. Let 'em keep showing their cards. The more folks that understand their real agenda, the more resistance there will be.1 point

We've had more than enough in my opinion. As I've said many times I'm over this crap. And I don't care if it's "whining", I'm calling BS when I see it. We're too much a persecuted community already to be screwing each other. I'm as sick of seeing the jacked up prices as I am of being given economics reminders of the "free market".1 point

Sounds like you left some meat on the bone. I've got about 600 rounds of .22LR and I don't even have a .22 anymore. I've been hanging on to it just for spite. :0)1 point

Yep and when the gougers show up the whiners aren't far behind. They like to bump every thread with a high price up with a snide comment. For a place that claims to love freedom so much a lot of you seem to hate free market economy. If you don't agree with the price, why not just ignore the ad and move on, the same way you would if a car lot is over priced, or if something cost more in kmart than it does in walmart. Instead we have 300 threads complaining about various prices from different people Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere1 point

Lumber Jack: When you load for 10mm, smiles are pretty common. Not that you should try to get them, but you will if going to ludicrous speed. Hopefully you have a chronograph. If not, get one. Powder also makes a huge difference. My favorites are 800-x and No.9. I never got smiles with the No. 9, but the 800-x is touchy.1 point

There was a kid on our baseball team last year, and his grandfather always brought him to the games. The old man, without fail, wore camoflauge pants, and a bright Hawaian print shirt. He didn't give a flip what anyone else thought. I sort of admire him for that. I look forward to being the age where your clothes no longer need to match.1 point

Because, in the case of an AR pistol: - It has most of the functionality of a rifle in much more compact package - most of the accuracy of a SBR, without the $200 tax stamp - Can be carried loaded, with one in chamber, on person or in vehicle, unlike a rifle - Lots of firepower -- not many handguns have 30+1 capacity, and a rifle round to boot - a 10.5" barrel, which is usually needed to get to the 26", still provides enough velocity to get the job done with various calibers, where a shorter barrel becomes questionable in that regard - can swap out with other uppers, as situation calls for. - the muzzle blast is most impressive, even though seldom fatal to perps I'm sure old guard BATF agents giggle at how cowed many in the firearms community remain. Mark, make sure it's a legal 26". Any muzzle device must be permanently attached to count. Mine, that you've seen, is 26 1/4" counting flash hider, but it's not pinned/welded/soldered/whatever, so it's not legit for a VFG. Which is okay, 'cause I don't really care for them much. - OS1 point

Of course, to someone who actually shoots, 1,500 rounds is no big deal...to the person who has never owned a firearm 1,500 rounds sounds like a phenomenal amount; more than then can even imagine anyone having. Most of those folks think you can just keep shooting and shooting without reloading ever since that's how it's often portrayed in the movies. ;)1 point

I heard some people talking about the 1500 round arsenal at the shooters home. Fifteen hundred rounds is not an arsenal. That's a weekend training class.1 point

I know that she was vetted, well actually picked down to the bone, by the media enough for 5 presidents, The liberals were THAT scared of her.....yet Obama was not vetted at all by the same group. Instead he was shielded and all skeletons were buried where they remain until this day.1 point

I said what I did, because his/her very FIRST post (no introduction, not like new people do) and wants to come to your house, and take pictures of you and your guns? Kinda sends a red flag up. There are other ways he (and us as well) could of handled this. A little introduction, build a few friendships and trust, may have been different, Plus I would charge modeling fees, or something to that effect. I think this person"s first post set the tone for this thread! :2cents: Dave S1 point

Well, just wanted y'all to know. I sat her down on the couch last night and told her how proud I was of her for making honor roll all year and got her a surprise. She covered her eyes as I put the box on her lap. When she opened the box her jaw dropped and eyes got huge and a huge grin followed :) She pulled it out, looked inside the action, finger above the trigger(So proud I didn't have to remind her!) and aimed toward the ceiling checking out the view down the sights. I told her if she takes care of it, she will be able to pass it on to her kids. Proud moment for me as a father!1 point

Actually, the math supports what you're saying (did a little playing this morning). If you push a 9 over standard pressure, it gets right up there with a 45 in muzzle energy. The energy drops faster with the lighter bullet, but not a factor inside 25 yards. The extra velocity will certainly help expansion. Time to play with some hot 9mm loads as soon as ammo availability recovers. I'll probably play with .357 SIG as well. OK... I'm done jacking the thread now :)1 point
