I think I'll keep a couple grand on hand for 'ol Jim Bob. I have every intention of making low ball offers on these clowns that cleaned out retailers and are now looking at their CC statement wondering how they're going to pay it. Jim Bob needs to feel pain for what he is trying to do to honest gun owners. I will be scooping up as many rifles I can at 25% below retail value. At least I'll have a good collection to pass on to my kids.5 points

Officer: Why did you shoot this man? Father: I was in fear for my life and the lives of my children. He attacked us with a deadly weapon and I responded with one as well. I wasn't able to stop him in time to save my sons but was able to keep him from driving off and killing someone else. I repeat. i was in fear for my life.4 points

The manner in which I would snap if this was my child would be biblical.4 points

I've got a Saltmaster brand shaker I'll cut you a deal on for $1400. Trust me, that's a great price. And I'll throw in two bulk cans of salt for just $140. I've got more than $2000 into this whole set up but times are tough. No budging on the prices because anyone willing to question me is an idiot.3 points

Let their tears fall like rain. I'll be more than happy to lowball these bastards with cash. I've already seen the excuses starting on other forums- "I got a little carried away with the panic and now I need to sell some stuff". Oh well, sucks to be you. Now we'll see the real free market at work.3 points

There was no temptation there, just a reaction brought on by a momentary mental break. Not guilty by reason of insanity. On another note, perhaps if our legal system treated drunk drivers as more than a moving violation folks would think twice about it; or maybe not. I guess I don't know the answers. What I do know is that the fatal consequences of driving drunk are very real and clear. No, we can't legislate people into doing the right things, but we can SEVERELY punish those who do the wrong things. I would sleep better at night if vehicular homicides caused by drunk driving was punishable by death. Anyone who drinks and gets behind the wheel is not just taking a chance with their life, they are taking a chance with the lives of innocent folks. There is no way to argue that. On those occassions that they kill an innocent they should be treated the same as any other premeditated murderer. I hope this 20 year old POS is rotting in HELL right now. I hope the parents of this 20 year old drunk driving POS spend the rest of their lives knowing they are responsible for putting that life taking human garbage on this planet. I hope this father is found not guilty and set free. I hope that in the future more fathers do this.3 points

Did you know that Senator Jim Inhofe from Oklahoma attached ammendment 139 yesterday to that prevents the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Way to go! I believe this bill has passed both Senate and House. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d113:4:./temp/~bd8Jrk::2 points

Thanks for the tips guys. All the info seems to be consistent. • use a constant stroke • keep the hopper full at least halfway • run .5lb powder through before starting to measure2 points

I had a small reserve, but most of it is gone now just from simple range time. It's ridiculous. Best believe as soon as things even out I will be turning some stockpiled cash into stockpiled ammo.2 points

Yep, next week I'll be making at least half a dozen offers a day. I expect to get a lot of hate mail back, but I'm sure some will bite. It will feel good. Cash is hard to turn down when you need smokes, PBR and baby food.2 points

I am a little upset over the whole thing as we just had a drunk driving POS in my area get a non-existent sentence after pleading guilty for the vehicular homicide of a local woman while he was driving drunk. He will be a free man very shortly while the woman he murdered is in the ground, forever. A similar case last year only gave a few years probation to a woman who murdered a man while she was drunk driving.... she had half a dozen prior drunk driving arrests. Our legal system has failed us. It has left folks with no choice but to take the law into their own hands in order for justice to be done. Maybe if our legal system wasn't infected with pro-crime judges and slimy lawyers on both sides we might find justice. Now I'm all pissed off again. I'm one of the few people who watched Law Abiding Citizen and wished it had ended differently.2 points

No way, an eye for an eye. What I want to know is where Messy Jackson and Al Charlatan are to help this poor woman out that is suffering greatly because of a hate crime.2 points

I would say hold off on shooting until the craziness ends. The reason ammo is being sold at 300% markup on Armslist is because people are paying it, and that is the same reason ammo will remain out of stock. So long as people are willing to pay stupid prices, bubba will wait in line at Walmart so he can turn around and sell it to you. If people chilled the hell out for a second and just stopped paying stupid prices it would all go back to normal. Bubba would have to sell the ammo back at relatively normal prices because he can't have hundreds of dollars tied up in ammo.... smokes and Natty Lite ain't gonna buy themselves ya know.2 points

Young? Man, I'm 41. I kinda don't believe I should have to join the military and go to a foreign country in order to exercise my right to keep and bear arms. I am also old enough to remember when pretty much every "good ol' boy" drove a pickup truck that had a gun rack in the rear window. That rack generally held at least a shotgun and, often, a rifle. Those long guns were present year 'round, not just during hunting season and, no, hunting season isn't different because the Second Amendment is not about hunting. It was not a big deal and no one freaked out nor were they portrayed as 'armed mobs' by most folks because, back then, people weren't drinking the pussification Kool-Aid. Some of us might like to still be able to do that without being harassed and without anyone freaking out. It isn't our fault that the general populace has their heads up their collective asses. I also don't think that most of us are talking about walking down the sidewalk, either alone or in groups, while carrying an AR, etc.2 points

sent in my paperwork for my garand.i was going to drive to anniston al to pick it up.i got an email that they have over 500 rifles on backorder.the store is just about empty.looks like it will be anywhere from 30-60 days before they are caught up and orders still coming in.also ordered 600 rounds of ammo for it.1 point

Decided to get away from it all with some friends today. Took a nice lil stroll up the holler and across the ridges. Found a nice lil clearing on an old logging road, after fighting through 3 year old new growth under brusb and briars. Built a lil fire, did some carving, cooked some bacon and and coffe and just had a good old time. Its been a truly good day. Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere1 point

An AR is ridiculous for home defense as is an AK or any other rifle, unless the rooms in your house are 50 yards long. Shotgun or handgun. Take your pick.1 point

Sort of like some james bond stuff, pretty good production on it. The sound track has some bad words in it http://youtu.be/Rgox84KE7iY1 point

It all looks good, based on your numbers. IMO it does vary a little with the hopper level, and vibration being the biggest influence. I would accept what you are getting, especially with that size of charge.1 point

That's what I get for bragging. I was so shocked that I found ammo at Wal-Mart in the middle of the day, I forgot to grab some milk.1 point

If it makes you feel any better, I just picked 3 333 round boxes of Winchester .22LR at Wal-Mart....in the middle of the day....on accident. :taunt:1 point

Well, just wanted y'all to know. I sat her down on the couch last night and told her how proud I was of her for making honor roll all year and got her a surprise. She covered her eyes as I put the box on her lap. When she opened the box her jaw dropped and eyes got huge and a huge grin followed :) She pulled it out, looked inside the action, finger above the trigger(So proud I didn't have to remind her!) and aimed toward the ceiling checking out the view down the sights. I told her if she takes care of it, she will be able to pass it on to her kids. Proud moment for me as a father!1 point

yeah, blaming the parents for the sins of their adult child sounds like a good idea. :squint: This should go for parents of people who commit other crimes too. :down:1 point

Was told by a shop that a local guy spent $3,500 to buy two AR's. He used the money for his mortgage, car payment, utilities and all his insurance money for the month or two to buy them. His wife told him not to but he convinced his wife he could sell them for $3,500 each in a week. Last I heard he was having a hard time paying his bills because he isn't even making his money back. I suspect there are a lot of people in the same boat now. Facing bills they cannot pay because they hoped to take advantage of the fear mongering people where doing. Dolomite1 point

1. We get paid for photo/video shoots. 2. I get paid location fees if the set is at my house. 3. I'm not about to let some stranger into my domain to take pictures of home, possessions or family. 4. You have provided none of the standard references. 5. I deem thee a troll.1 point

That's just funny!!| My hospitality ends on the front porch after a glass of sweet tea, if I don't know you. "A message to Francisco": While many of us in the gun culture trust each other implicitly, for a total stranger to ask to come into our homes and photograph ourselves and our arms is beyond the pale. it's like one of us asking you to let us photograph your wife's underclothes. In other words...it's not considered polite and is provocation for suspicion. In some cases, doing something like this is hazardous. So..uhh..no.1 point

I cant stand drunk drivers. Ive almost been hit several times do to people all over the road that seemed drunk. I hate going to work on early saturday mornings. Always seems a drunk is going home. Ive gotten really mad by just almost getting hit by these fools. I couldnt imagine if one killed my kids. Not sure what i would do if that kind of anger hit me.1 point

Why, yes.,.. I would be more than happy to let you, a photojournalist and complete stranger, into my home and take all the photos of me and my guns you want so that at some point down the road the authorities could swoop in and make my life miserable. Who wouldn't want some of that? :screwy:1 point

I think he may be forced to come down here to get enough 'shots.' I hear NY has limited photographers to 35mm SLRs instead of the digital 'assault' SLRs, and also limited their film capacity to 7 exposures.1 point

Excellent way to explain the situation. If he could prove he were not an idiot, I would be happy to send anonymous photos from a disposable, one time use email account. However, the burden of proof is going to be stout, given the fairly idiotic request and his living in a police state that is known for twisting things into propaganda.1 point

I think there's some guys up around Polk County Tennessee, Copper Basin, Ducktown etc....that would like to have there picture taken. You could just bring your camera on down, Put you on a black suit and sunglasses, go drive around the area and go door to door asking to take pictures of them boys and their guns. That Yankee accent will get you right in their door. They really like yankees in them parts.1 point

A lot of this is post Civil War, when the recently mustered-out United States Colored Troops (USCT) began returning to their states with .58 caliber rifle-muskets and the skill to use them. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas outlines the process in detail in a well-footnoted, scholarly concurring statement in one of the high profile Supreme Court Second Amendment Cases. It is available online, and I might be able to dig it out later. I think it's in: http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/09pdf/08-1521.pdf Edit: Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas' Concurrence in McDonald v. Chicago is here starting on page 67 of the pdf): http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/09pdf/08-1521.pdf1 point

To satisfy the club requirement you can also join the Garand Collector's Association, thegca.org, get 4 magazines per year. Your HCP can satisfy the firearms related activity requirement. Check out the catalog for more information about ordering, page 9. http://thecmp.org/Sales/pdfs/catalog.pdf1 point

so why are guns without sights unbelievable but zombies walking the earth believable? If zombies are real, Glocks can have a safety and AR's don't need sights.1 point
