  1. http://www.fireandreamitchell.com/2013/03/20/new-yorkers-now-being-given-500-rewards-if-they-report-gun-owners-to-law-enforcement/ Apparently, the NY state is giving a 500 dollar reward for anyone who owns firearms.  I had some time to kill so I called the number 1-855-GUNSNYS and reported myself.  A lady answered the phone and here's how it went:   Lady: guns new york   Me: Yes ma'am, I'd like to report a man that owns a gun...   Lady: is it an illegal gun?   me: well, I didn't see it's passport or student visa, if that's what you're asking..   lady: I don't understand, do you want to report someone that owns a gun? Me: yes ma'am- ME, MY name is Elliott and I own at least 30 of em!! I live in the free state of Tennessee..come get me! she hung up the phone. dang, she blew a sure fire bust right there.. If you've got some time, give that nice lady a call, I'm sure she's not doing anything and you can make her feel like she's actually working for her paycheck.

  3. Fair price for primers is about $40 /K. Fair price for an 8lb jug of Titegroup is around $140 A good Lee mold can be had for less than $30 but if taken care of doesn't add to the cost of ammo because it'll last foreve dies and press are the same school of thought. Tumble lube is about $5 per bottle. Add $15 to that for some Johnson's paste wax and odorless mineral spirits so you can make a batch of 45/45/10 tumble lube. That $20 will tumble at least three to five thousand depending on how much you waste. SO! That's a penny each for powder, four cents for primer, and about half a cent each for lube. Rounded up to six cents and your looking at about $60 per thousand. That's what I'll pay for ammo. No more.

  5. I'm not buying ammo at the current ridiculous prices anymore than I'm paying $1200 for a DPMS AR-15 or paying $55 for a 10/22 mag. I feel like a cranky old man but I'm getting tired of this bull$hit.

Lightly used. Heavy armored. Comes with night vision and custom run-flat tires. Needs fuel pump. President sold separately. Will ship world wide.

  9.   I took a plastic 55 gallon drum. I put a piece of 1/4" AR500 steel inside angled so the bullets glance off and into the 12" of dirt. Nothing exits and I keep every bullet I shoot to melt back down. The plastic drum is self sealing of sorts but it doesn't matter becaues the dirt level is below the holes. You could also use 3/8" mild steel for most cast bullets.   The drum cost me $7.   Dolomite

  12. Please understand that your request will be met with skepticism, since most common sense folk know that a simple photo can be made to project good or bad, depending on the photographer.  I'm no professional photographer, but if Ghandi was still alive I could take seemingly innocent photographs of him during a set which could make him look like a saint or make him look menacing.  Now, you're talking about photographing gun owners in their homes for the purpose of a private project of yours.  I assume you understand how easily one could make us responsible gun owners who believe in the right to use force to protect ourselves and our families look like gun toting lunatic vigilantees.    The fact that you're from New York doesn't help your cause.  I know that not all New Yorkers are pants wetting hoplophobes, but it is one of the big 3 states that believes in removing weaponry from the hands of law abiding citizens.  I can only assume that the majority of your citizens fit the category of pants wetting hoplophobes since they keep getting elected there.  So again, forgive our skepticism; it is only because, in the south, common sense is still pretty common.

  13. Well my daughter Riley was born 3/19/13 at 0110 she was 8 lbs 12oz and 24 inches long!! I'm 6"4 and my wife is 6"1 so she has some growing to do haha. We 're here at vandy in the nicu, she had some trauma to her head from the suction thing the doctor used, and her cord was wrapped twice around her neck. It wasn't pulled tight, and she wasn't blue or anything just tangled up. She is doing much better now and the swelling on her head has gone down....iv had about 4 hours sleep in the past 2 days. They also have been cooling her core temp. Kinda like an induced hypothermia it basicly makes the body send blood to the vital organs in the body that may have been starved of oxygen during birth due to the chord being wrapped around her neck. I bought her a pink .22 a while back from gander a while back and iv got lots of rounds sealed up so when she gets old enough we can get out in the yard and I can show her how to shoot just like my dad did me!!

  16. I have no problems heading this up. Two members have already contacted me about donating via paypal. I have a paypal buisness account along with a card hooked directly to it so I can withdraw the funds and get them to Don immediatley upon reciept instead of the wait. If you would like to donate via paypal or money order or any other means you can pm me for my paypal address and my street address. Money orders should be made out to Don unless you want me to cash them and take it to him in cash for some reason. Thanks guys Ill try to update as he updates me Jordan Sent from the backwoods of Nowhere

  17. I think there's some guys up around Polk County Tennessee, Copper Basin, Ducktown etc....that would like to have there picture taken.  You could just bring your camera on down, Put you on a black suit and sunglasses, go drive around the area and go door to door asking to take pictures of them boys and their guns. That Yankee accent will get you right in their door. They really like yankees in them parts.

  20. I suspect there are a lot of TSA agents doing what they really want to do, sit in the break room all day. And now they have permission to do it. There are s lot of Obama supporters that are cheering this because it griefs the ones that can actually afford to go somewhere or have a decent job. I really wish the next step would be to force a 20% cut in welfare and food stamps to save money rather than make the people who actually work and pay taxes take one day a week off. Maybe it will lead to these cuts once the workers can't support the programs but the government will cut Social Security and Veteran benefits long before that. What i don't get is it isn't like the money disappeared overnight. Yet within 12 hours they punish those who work and support those that don't. Dolomite

  27. Yea been reading the Duffel Blog for a while.    Good Stuff!   The funny thing is, most of their satire does have a bit of truth in it.    VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – An anonymous Public Affairs Officer (PAO) for Seal Team Six says the movie “Zero Dark Thirty” is factually inaccurate, portraying Seal Team Six members like the douchebags from Seal Team Two. “At one point Joel Edgarton’s character wears a polo shirt with a popped collar,” the PAO said. “Team Six doesn’t do that. We’re the baddest motherfuckers on the planet. We don’t wear shit like Tapout shirts, Ed Hardy jeans, or fedoras. That’s Team Two.”

  28. I would say hold off on shooting until the craziness ends. The reason ammo is being sold at 300% markup on Armslist is because people are paying it, and that is the same reason ammo will remain out of stock. So long as people are willing to pay stupid prices, bubba will wait in line at Walmart so he can turn around and sell it to you. If people chilled the hell out for a second and just stopped paying stupid prices it would all go back to normal. Bubba would have to sell the ammo back at relatively normal prices because he can't have hundreds of dollars tied up in ammo.... smokes and Natty Lite ain't gonna buy themselves ya know.

  30. From Stickman's (industry photographer) Facebook page... and 100% spot on...     Stop congratulating yourselves! With the recent announcement of democrats NOT pressing forward with another AWB, the firearm industry seems awash in praises and congratulations. To these people and industry experts, I can only say "STOP CONGRATULATING YOURSELVES"! The larger picture has been missed, and people are fat dumb and happy with having beaten the liberals. If you fall into that category, please stop. Seriously. If I told you I was going to beat you to death, would you not feel more than slightly offended? Would you not be upset with the threat, especially if I tried to carry it out? Would you feel it was suddenly ok if I only broke your nose, or fractured your eye socket? Would you be good with that? Would you congratulate yourself, and would your friends think it was awesome? Let us make no mistake that additional restrictions are about to be placed while people are dancing and congratulating themselves. The death of a thousand cuts is being carried out to the 2nd Amendment right in front of us, and the end is certainly near. The idea of ending personal sales without a background check is simply the first step in logging, tracking, and eventual restriction of firearms. Remember that each and every "background check" is done via computer and logged. If you are still smug in having "blocked the libs", your heart might be in the right place, but your head is not in the game. Stay safe, Stick Share it if you agree, and as always, civil comments are welcome.

  32. I've gotten to the point where I just don't enjoy discussing firearms or handgun carry with most people. Generally, if they bring it up, I just listen and stare at them as though they had a third eye. There seem to be more know-it-alls than people who actually have some knowledge.

  33. I'm just going to throw this out there as a possible option, and you who know him can decide if you want to go with it or not.   When several TGOers were kind enough to help my friend and daughters in need, most people donated funds via Paypal's "gift" feature. This way no fees are involved. It seemed to be the simplest and fastest way to handle the situation.   The funds are donated and deposited into the account of Don or whoever is in going to be in charge of this. It usually takes 1-3 days for the money to actually be transfered into the bank account of whoever is on the receiving end.    If someone who doesn't use Paypal would like to help out, a check or money order will work, too.   Just my  :2cents:

  39. We live in north Hamilton County in a somewhat rural subdivision. A lady in the neighborhood got a new laser sight for her pistol and wanted to try it out at dusk.  Someone called the police and multiple cars showed up at her house.  The deputies found out what was going on.  Then they told her to keep shooting while they were there.  Apparently they wanted to demonstrate to whoever made the phone call that shooting was OK here.

  40. I absolutely understand what you're saying. It's just your use of the word "better" that isn't clicking with me. There's nothing definitively better about a Glock than a 1911 or any other gun. It's a very subjective thing. I've owned Sigs and H&Ks and currently own Glocks and Springfields. They are all great weapons. I frequently carry my XDs, but I still prefer my 1911. All subjective.

  41. I actually bought a new box of Peters maybe a year ago from Sportsman's Warehouse in 'Nooga. Dunno if it was sort of a commemorative issue or what, as hadn't seen it used as brand for many many years from Remington. Next trip, 'bout 7 weeks later, no more, and never seen again. 40gr. lead roundnose, says "Peters Cartridge Division, Remington Arms Company". $19.99 which I considered a bit high at the time; sigh, those were the days. Nifty collection by the way! - OS
