  1. People that pick up a shooters brass without asking before he leaves should be banned from the range. It’s not bad manners its theft.

  3. Saturday morning after golf I lucked out and was able to buy several cases of ammo. On the way home, I stopped at the gas station where a drop-dead gorgeous blonde was filling up her car at the next pump. She looked at the ammo in the back of my car and said in a very sexy voice, "I'm a big believer in barter, big boy". "Would you be interested in trading sex for ammo?"                     I thought about it for a few seconds and asked, "What kinda ammo ya got?"   Found it on Saiga 12, posted by Cobra, makes a good adapter for putting a choke on your S12.

  5. You've seen those rich tycoons that light cigars with hundred dollar bills. Well I now know how they must feel. With such pretty weather this afternoon I indulged myself and did a little plinking with a .22 rifle and a pistol. I shot off mite near 200 rounds. Man was it grand. There's nothing better than livin' large. I can only imagine how the peasants live. Sic. .... back to beans and rice tomorrow.

  6. There are a lot of hunters and recreational shooters that go along with some of the restrictions true anti-gunners are proposing, like private back checks and mag caps. They say they support the second amendment, but I believe it's more that they are not against it. Folks like the Giffords affirm that the people have a right to keep and bear arms, but they stumble over the "shall not be infringed" part. What if you were to ask them if the same restrictions they want to place upon our 2A rights would carry over to 1A? How about allowing free speech, but you're limited to no more than 10 minutes? What if all civil rights activists were required to undergo a background check before they could get a permit to march in protest or stand on a corner with a sign? Could a person in need of legal counsel hire someone who once served in the JAG Corps or would he be too much of a "military style" lawyer? I mean, where do we draw the line on their favorite rights?

  7. His wife was shot with an AR 15? I wonder if he realizes that a person could have assassinated her with muzzle loading percussion pistol from the 18th century if they wanted. These people are stupid. It's a piece of metal and plastic; it has no soul, just like most liberals.

  12. Thought a light thread on some of your military memories would be fun and nostalgic.   Basic training, Ft. Leonard Wood, MO., 1970:   Had to hang a sign on the foot of my bunk bed for 3:00 A.M. so the C.Q. runner got me up for my first KP (Kitchen Patrol) duty in basic training. The rotating hourly trainee fire guard pacing the hallway for no apparent reason wasn't allowed to wake anyone. The E-2 C.Q. runner had to loudly barge in and yell at the top of his lungs, "get up, get up trainee"...   Getting up, showering, shaving, getting dressed to military standards, making my bunk tight enough to bounce a quarter off of in "ten" minutes was quite a feat! Anywho, reported to the mess Sergeant for duty on time. Because in Army basic training there's nothing not on time unless you're a glutton for punishment.   My rank at the time was "E" nothing and I was being yelled at "DRO" come here, do this, do that? What the heck is DRO and was never told and dare not ask. There were PFC'S (E-3) on mess staff yelling at me to do this and this. Being a private E-Zero, I thought a PFC was almost God, much-less someone who had more stripes!   Preparing for afternoon mess, my military Deity called me and another basic trainee to sit down here on a pickle bucket and peel these potato's, with one of those little hand peelers. I should mention at this point our mess hall fed the entire battalion. We had to haul out all the potato's from the storage room, fifty pound sacks at a time. I'm here to state, the entire state of Idaho doesn't produce this amount of potato's in a year!   We're getting yelled at to hurry up and peel faster... We're doing our very best and now it's about time to start cooking them, and we're only 1/4 done peeling them. Times up, now we get a severe chewing out with some select words frequently used to describe us trainees. Then we're instructed to take all the unpeeled potato's you so-and-so trainees over to them two huge stainless steel appliances over there and dump them in. Come to find out, they're stainless steel potato peelers, and in short order they are all peeled, but maybe half their original size. We're thinking, what the heck, why didn't they just use them in the first place? That was my first experience on why I loved the Army so much and spent a couple of decades in their ranks.   My second experience...   Wrapping up evening mess and everything is about clean (8:00 P.M.) and I'm pooped and ready to go back to the barracks and get all the sweat and grease off me. Here comes the E-6 (Staff Sergeant) mess Sergeant toward us and we snap to "parade rest" awaiting his instruction to return to your company. He states that me and two other trainees are going to clean out the grease trap before we are released.   At eighteen years old I thought, no problem, let's get this done in a hurry and back to the barracks. My eyes are shifting back and forth to a number of sinks and wonder which one(s) needed cleaning!   The Mess Sergeant directs one of his PFC'S to take us and get the pump, shovels and barrels. I'm thinking...   I'm here to tell you in no uncertain terms... If you've never pumped and shoveled the most vile stinking sludge ever known to man...   Some things just stick in your nostrils, you know?   In hind sight, what an experience and went from boy to man faster than natural progression. Did I mention I love the Army?

  17. Funny you mention this. I've been a member at Gallatin Gun Club for a handful of years, and no one has ever wanted by brass....until today. A very kind gentleman noticed we were packing up for the day, and he politely asked if he could have my .223/5.56 brass. I don't currently reload, but knowing how valuable that stuff is these days, I was actually going to keep it. But since he was kind enough to ask, I didn't have a problem giving it to him.

  19. By announcing this new partnership at the very height of Congress’s deliberations over gun reform, NASCAR has inserted itself into a political debate that has nothing to with the business of NASCAR.   Seems to me he is trying to insert politics in to racing and free enterprise...

  21. I bought a set that looks like the current Grace sets on sale now at Midway almost forty years ago. Still have most of them and they held up well over the years. When it comes to tools, I learned at a very early age to get quality ... buy once, cry once. Other than the occasional stolen or lost tool, I still have them all and they have served me for a lifetime. I worked them hard and they never failed me. I fully expect to pass them down to my son if he ever gets his head out of his butt. If not, I'll give them to my stepson.

Was not in  the military but I worked in the Club on  Ft.McClellan from 96 to 99 and we catered and set up alot of graduation dinners for Officers and Enlisted. We also did the various Balls  for the Marines and Army..   I worked for a retired ( I think) Col..his name was Buckner..he was one of the best people to work for..I hated to leave that place when it shut down Anyway...We had to cook for a lot  of people back then and I remember having to cook so much chicken and different stuff ,it was insane. Sometimes the sheer volume of food was crazy  But I loved it..Thaat place was always a place you loved to work at. We did  alos a lot of Thanksgiving dinner and brunches on Easter Sunday..And the food was good..

  25. Last time I was at MCSC it seemed the majority of rifles there were ARs. It's amazing how much AR ownership has gone up in the last decade. Makes me all fuzzy to know that there are so many households with muskets; I really hope it stays that way.

  26. My advice would be NOT to pay a gunsmith to look at it. I know this one has sentimental value, but they're $99.99 online. I'd just buy another one and change out parts, if I wanted to keep the original.

  29. Personally, I don't think there is a defense against drones right now.  That's why they are so successful.  Apparently, the bad guys never know there is one coming until it is too late to do anything about it.   My personal feeling about this is, I have no problem with the police using a drone to take out a bad guy, if he or she is an immediate threat to innocent civilians or LE.  That is justifiable. Nor do I have a problem with how they go after Americans that are part of AQ and who are in other countries and beyond the reach of our law. What I have a problem with is using a drone to take out a U.S. Citizen, on U.S. soil that has not had an opportunity to surrender and turn himself or herself over to authorities and have their case pleaded in court.  That is making those in charge, Judge, Jury and Executioner.  That is against the Constitution and Laws of this country, regardless how those in power in Washington, try to justify it.  Bush started us on this slippery slope and we continue to slide on down it.  Obama and his ilk have done nothing to stop the process.  This is one of the reasons I think they are all the same.   What blows my mind is how Holder goes on and on about how we must uphold the law or we cease being a Nation of Laws, but when it suits him, he ignores the law.  And make no mistake about it, the only reason he finally came out and said that it would not be legal was because he was forced into a cornerRand Paul and other members of Congress on both sides and had no other choice.  His statement in the end, was even like a petulant child's response, who has lost an argument with his parent.  If he had really thought that way in the beginning, he would have come out and said it the first time.

  31.     Sometimes you guys really take it too far. Anyone who says women like to gossip clearly hasn't spent time on TGO.   This guy hasn't even been buried yet and we've already determined he was there to sleep with this woman who must be a cheating whore.   None of us know what happened and it really doesn't make a difference, even if their relationship was inappropriate Rodriguez didn't deserve a bullet for it.

  33. Yuuuup. I remember during my early days in the Army there was a fellow Soldier that would bag wives left and right when their husbands were in the field. Not hard to do as they prowl the local bars with intentions of screwing someone that night, and I'd say the husbands are partly to blame for marrying a whore, but his reasoning was that "someone was going to bang them anyway, why not me?" Those were his exact words. Aside from ethics and morals, I explained to him that when one of these dudes comes looking to kill him I will not have his back. He was my buddy and all, but if some guy smoked him over nailing his wife I wouldn't feel bad for him. We all make choices....

  34. That's what I thought you were getting at, but wasn't sure. Honestly, I don't blame them either. While a noble thought, let's be honest. Those folks had families too, and I don't know about anyone else, but my family's well being and safety comes before just about anything else, most especially fighting a futile battle to maintain order in the midst of societal collapse. The really ugly side of the NO coin was that a significant portion of the LEOs that stayed on the job went on to engage in illegal and immoral behavior of the worst sort. It is bad enough that you when chaos ensues and you have to worry about Thuggy McThuggerson and his pals running free like some 3rd world bandit, but when those that are supposed to stand in the way of that are also acting like a warlord from the same 3rd world cesspool and knocking down doors and taking your only means of defense, well, they deserve the same treatment as the first group.

  38. If they pull into your driveway they are on private property. Call the cops then walk out to greet them to hold them there if they will stay. You cannot force them to stay but chit chat might hold them there. And if they leave at least they know you are aware of your surroundings. But if they stay have the cops trespass them from your property. If they come back and enter you property again they can be arrested. I know I have walked down my dead end road to see why someone is parked along it. It is not against the law to ask if they are looking for someone or something. Dolomite

  39.   Whether you believe in the biblical account of the Flood or not, you have to admit that it makes more and more sense after seeing how bad people are becoming these days. In fact, seeing how bad our society has become, and still not getting themselves wiped off the face of the earth, makes me wonder just how bad it had to get in the early days to bring an all-knowing, loving, and long-suffering God to the point of where even He decided to just wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Nothing surprises me anymore but there sure is a lot that worries me.

  40. Two sections of this article really get my blood boiling.   EXCUSE ME!?!?!? Those weren't incidents of "anti-government violence". Those were massacres where the government murdered our fellow citizens.    That's actually pretty easy to accomplish. Don't send your black clad stormtroopers to murder people and we won't be forced to shoot back in self defense.   Fuck the author of this article and fuck the SPLC and their hate mongering way of painting the people who don't march in lockstep to their views as "dangerous extremists". Fucking tools.

  42. I agree with Greg, I'd think a case of 1000 would make more sense if there already boxed 1000 to a case. Having said that I probably would have just bout my 500 and went on my way with no hard feelings, provided they're not charging full price for a case and then splitting it on you.

The simple fact is few if any of even lifer Knoxville cops are gonna wear out their Glocks and that claimed Glock "lifespan" is obvious BS2, nobody  but nobody can point to valid documentation where anybody claims that.   And all those many "failures'?
