I've been storing and putting away ammo now for many yrs and I'm sorting thru it an making a more accurate count of what I have. Here's a small sample of over at minimum half million rnds I have on hand.4 points

LOL Don't start like you guys did went I ranted about people touching and shaking hands all the time. I'm serious. When I'm in Walmart, I understand having to stand close to people in line. In line at the DMV, waiting for a bucket of popcorn at the movies. Understood. But the more space we have, the more space we should give. In a wide open area gimme two feet, jeez. I wished to GOD I could have worked up a chili dog/Strohs/nachos bell grande fart. I'd have give him a John Cleese and farted in his general direction.4 points

I wouldn't accept anything, period. I would want a lawsuit to reflect the gross negligence of the officers and see those officers thrown in jail. We don't know the circumstances yet, but I can't think of any circumstances where it would be appropriate to shoot two women who are unarmed from behind. I really can't. The officers that pulled the trigger need to be in prison, same as if you or I had indiscriminately shot at a person.4 points

Rev, as someone who has had several dozen Muslim Arabs try to kill me, I can tell you that all my targets will be wearing turbans and sporting AKs. I'm sorry that makes you think I'm racist or intolerant, but like I said, that is your problem. The Muslims that I know who were right there with me getting shot at would have zero issues with these targets, because they would understand that those targets are depicting the bad guys, not very Muslim man ever born. I'll never understand folks that will go out of their way to get offended.3 points

I know that this is going to sound harsh, but the guy in question is not so naive to expect that he would get out and have an awesome job waiting for him. He only had a few years left until retirement and he got out for some reason. Perhaps the reasons made sense, such as wanting to spend more time at home or do something not so dangerous, but Dev group is an all volunteer unit. Leaving that unit doesn't mean the end of your career in the Navy or even the SEAL community. Getting out was a choice he made for himself and that choice comes with risks and consequences that he owns. His situation is not unique, just the guy he got to kill. I'm just making an assumption here, but I'd figure a guy like that who'd spent that much time in Dev group would have acquired enough clout to work himself into an instructor gig somewhere in the SEAL pipeline if he needed a break. That would have gotten him off the line for the remainder of his career and netted him his retirement benefits which include pay and family medical for life through Tricare. Beside that, due to his former job he is qualified for a whole boatload of jobs which pay very well and don't involve carrying a weapon. I don't think he's whining about it or anything, I think it is just the perspective that the author is trying to wrap the story around, but he seriously needs to get with his SEAL contacts in the civilian sector and he'll have a job in a matter of weeks. I do agree with the stuff regarding initiatives with companies to hire guys with such skill sets. I don't think many US companies realize the potential value of a person who has had a successful special ops career, and many of the military transitional programs focus on entry level employment, not professional level. Essentially folks like this have already been vetted in terms of being loyal, ethical, moral, dedicated and hard working. They've endured several gates which few make passage and many are weeded out. If employers were aware of that stuff I'd think they'd competing to head hunt these guys.3 points

Hey but 2 years in Congress gets you top tier benefits for life. Pretty screwed up system.3 points

This is especially sickening, considering our government doesn't appear to have any reservations when I comes to supporting the scumbags who have done little more than mooch off of productive members of society. Our priorities are f****d.3 points

Trust works both ways. If you don't trust ME with firearms, why should I trust YOU! In fact, usually those who try to disarm me have just proven to me that they are not worthy of my trust in any matter. Troops on parade are no threat to the POTUS. They never even get within a hundred yards of him. And one man trying to load and fire a rifle would be jumped on by everyone else before he could fire a shot, much less take time to aim at a target 100 yards away. The Secret Service are the only armed folks that take an oath to defend the President. Military take an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Perhaps this explains why our leaders are so afraid of armed soldiers.3 points

Frankly I am truly fed up with the whole lot of them. Anything they don’t like they turn it into some type of anti-Muslim crap. Can be anything, even Lego has been attacked (for the Jabba the Hutt hideout play set. It was claimed that it looked like one of their Holy sites or something of that nature. And if that gun shop caves in, to the pressure then I sure as He** would not give them any of my business. And if I want to shoot at a zombie that is wearing a turban I will.. **A Michigan gun store will stop selling targets that depict a skeleton holding an AK-47 and wearing a turban after a Muslim civil liberties group voiced concern that the target may cause gun owners to have a negative view of all Muslims.** Oops should have read the post closer, they have already caved in. Well from what my buddy tells me they should rename Michigan to “Michiganistan†anyway. And before anyone here starts to say I need to be tolerant of other peoples beliefs, well I am. Don’t get me wrong I believe in live and let live… But when you have a group of people that wants to change every thing to fit their way of life, or it offends them well that’s when I draw a line on the pavement. And I have a list of things that I am going to do, and I really don’t care what the Muslims say. 1.If I want to place a manger scene in my front yard during Christmas time they are going to have to deal with it. 2.If I want to drink beer on my front porch, they are going to have to deal with it. 3.It I want to shoot at a zombie with a turban on it’s head they are going to have to deal with it. 4.If I want to speak my mind they are going to have to deal with it.. Yea, folks we can all live together just fine, but don’t let yourself get run over by a bunch of politically correct crap.. (RANT MODE OFF) -HPH3 points

Hell, they use live targets, and we catch hell over a paper one!3 points
-
The Muslim will preach tolerance toward them, they will not show it to anyone. It is their plan to get the American people to be trained to have tolerance, that way we dont question what they are doing.3 points
-
It's the actions of Muslim countries, communities and individuals that causes one to form negative opinions of them. Not a target.3 points
-
When there cease to be Muslims that consider it honorable to kills anyone without their beliefs, then we can change the targets. Goodness, the ridiculousness goes on and on!3 points

There is no duty to notify. If he has “a few†years on the job, he shouldn’t really need to go check that. Having been a Police Officer I will notify. I will do it because I respect them, I want a safe stop for everyone involved, I want them on our side, and the pavement around here gets scalding hot during the summer months.3 points

Could someone smarter than me please explain personal space as described by the law with emphasis on defense and fear for ones safety? Reason being, I work with the public in retail sales. More than once I have had people who do not understand personal space. The majority of the time I can just take a step or two back and all is well. Today, a man comes in, walks up to me and starts talking. Never stops closing in so I casually back away a step and converse with him. He takes a step toward me and I take a step back. He's closing less than 10 inches away from me. That crap makes me nervous. We're damn near dancing the tango. After four times I just flat out tell him "Look fella, we're standing in a 20ft wide, 30ft long driveway. Any reason you keep moving toward me repeatedly?". He was a little miffed. Asked me what the hell my problem was and I told him, "My problem is another grown man trying to stand closer to me than my own wife." I didn't have what he needed anyway so I sent him on his way. Call me a coward or a pussy or what have you but a stranger, in a wide open area, trying to get closer than a couple of feet from me makes me nervous. I understand that don't fly everywhere. I was at the gunshow this weekend and it was elbow to elbow. BUT, in an open area where I take a step away, then you step forward and I step back again only to have you come closer AGAIN, that's a problem with me. Sad part is what would have happened had he stepped forward again after I said something about it. Getting into an altercation is the last thing i need or want. Two words the world does not know. "Common Courtesy" The world is certainly common, but somewhere we lost the courtesy of a gentleman.2 points

All this from a paper skelly. There's good christians and there are bad christians. There are good muslims and bad muslims. There are good athiests and bad athiests. The one constant we can all agree on.. is that the scientologists are whack jobs.2 points

I didn't think that you did, but the linked article was worded to make it sound as if they had "uncovered" the top secret list. When in fact the EFF had sued under the freedom of information act to get the full list released last year. It was all over the news if you knew where to look.(three pages back in the science/technology section of your local newspaper sometime last summer) "While the use of drones in the U.S. is little known" " FULL LIST REVEALED HERE" In the engineering school here on campus there were posters plastered every 60 feet or so for the majority of last semester trying to entice engineering students to join the computer science students in an autonomous flying vehicle(drone) competition. The only reason many more universities aren't on that list is because they test fly their "drones" indoors. I generally just get tired of the news media of trying to make the American people scared of everything because fear works for increasing ratings. There are many great uses for drones(border patrol, forrest fire monitoring, regulatory monitoring of drilling operations) that I worry won't come fully to fruition b/c the news is too busy making the public scared to death of all of them.2 points

Nope, you need to stay in at least 20 to get anything.2 points

Not all people who call themselves Christians are Christians. And American Muslims may not have strapped explosives to their backs but they have certainly loaded bombs into cars, tried to blow-up bridges, spread their hate, and even tried to excape American authorities by moving to Yemen so they can direct others to do their dirty work.2 points

Most shooters are such noobs that when they leave a target, I am happy to use it --- usually the middle is still there and their shotgun patter off the center does not bother me :)2 points

I think we should quit shooting the terrorist targets, both paper and organic, when they quit burning the American flag. Dolomite2 points

Kinda like how FBI targets are blue now instead of black. Apparently having black targets encouraged them to shoot black people. No word on whether the new targets will affect members of Blue Man Group.2 points

There isn't any, he just won't be getting one from me. As I mentioned in another thread, if an officer wants to conduct any sort of search of me or my property, he needs to have PC that he can defend to a judge.2 points

I see it as them leaving me the brass. I don't mind picking up other people's brass. The majority of the brass I use came from other people. Dolomite2 points

I keep my carry permit under my driver license and when the officer asks for my license I give the license and carry permit to him. I also turn on the inside lights and roll both windows down as I am pulling over. I have been stopped twice and both times the officers stated they appreciated the way I reacted. I didn't get a ticket in either case and the second time the officer asked what kind of gun I carried. We had a short glock chat, bid each other a good day and went our separate ways. Your mileage my vary but this approach seems to work for me.2 points

No. All that is 'clear' about a target of a skeleton wearing a turban is that it is a target of a skeleton wearing a turban. There are also targets depicting 'assailants' wearing ski masks - I don't see people whose faces get cold easily getting all butt hurt over them. There are targets depicting assailants wearing unbuttoned flannel shirts over a t-shirt but you don't hear guys (like me) who sometimes dress that way complaining. Heck, Walmart sells a multi-pack of zombie targets which contain, among others, targets of a zombie clown. I haven't heard anything about Bozo or Ronald McDonald campaigning to get those pulled from shelves. I've seen targets depicting a zombie in a butcher's apron hefting a big cleaver but I don't think the meat cutter unions have been whining about those.1 point

Thank you. Absolutely, as well as succession plant. I've done the "Three Sisters" and grew the best butternut squash and beans ever....the corn...not so great. Many plant combination/companion arrangements help cut down on pests and really do assist or help each other. And with our limited space helps our production. We haven't used any pesticides for a few years now, just to see how we would do, and we've been pleasantly surprised. And setting up the beds in 3x4', to 4x4' (to x12') really makes them easy to work. This is a link to "a" guide, but I'm sure there are many other folks could suggest. http://www.ghorganics.com/page2.html A few square feet or a couple of buckets like folks have suggested will get you started. Be careful though...gardening is a "gateway drug" to prepping. :pleased:1 point

I am trying to think of the last time a baptist strapped on a stick of dynamite and blew themselves up at the abortion clinic, and drawing a blank. The last time an angsty islamist "radical" exploded was last month (though not in the states lately).1 point

Absolutely! From the pictures of the truck in question -- It was LIT UP! I mean -- 20-30+ bullet holes in the tailgate, rear of the bed, and rear glass. This is gross negligence in every sense of the word!1 point

By the way, have you ever noticed where these polls are conducted? Never do you hear of them happening in the south or real rural areas. And only using a 1000 or 2000 people. As a teacher this is what we call a biased sample and misleading graphs. Go to people who have the most guns and use them, then see what the polls say!1 point

I'm entertaining the thought that he is just a lying piece of human trash, and a narcissistic sociopath who blames everyone else for his problems rather than accepting responsibility. Call me crazy, but anyone who murders two innocent people unprovoked has credibility issues.1 point

I've corresponded with Courtney Rogers, 45th District, some, and wanted to share my most recent missive from her. This is in response to some questions Id asked her: Real quick, because I am swamped.... oh- but first, if you ever come to Nashville, would love to meet you in person! Ok, I have signed onto the 'safe commute' bill as a co-sponsor - but there are some issues with it as it came out of the Senate the other night that may be too restrictive, will look more into that. Am also co-sponsoring the bill that doesn't allow publication of permit holder list in TN.... Hmmm, what else. Signing onto the HB 042 by Joe Carr that makes it a crime for anyone trying to enforce confiscation of arms in TN. Also, FYI.... am joining the 10th Amendment Caucus! Blessings! Courtney1 point

As soon as I shoot, i throw the brass in a labelled bag. They are cleaned and then sized. I don't like the media getting into the flash holes.1 point
