When it dies, this boy is going to do some of the loudest, most obnoxious dick wagging in the history of the art! I may wait until the mag ban dies too, or I may not.4 points

Wow! Number one story on 5's site tonight. One round from the Barrett can take out a whole airport full of jetliners. One shot at a toxic fuel dump can affect millions of people. Does anybody have a list of sponsors for this twisted show! They weren't showing any tonight. I've watched channel 5 for the last time. And their internet link has been deleted from my computer.4 points

I went to a new gun shop this morning, an advertiser on this site who I visited because of the ad on TGO. Looking around and a double barrel steel shotgun caught my eye and I asked if I could see it. He said Sure I just need to see your drivers license, I assumed to make sure I was a legal resident, I also showed my HCP but he wasn't interested in this. While I was looking at the shotgun and about to say "Looks good I'll take it", I look up and see the person was scanning my DL, I asked why and he said "Store Policy, we have had some situations" He gave me my drivers license back and I did not buy the shotgun. Just saying, it pisses me off they scanned my DL with no justification. if I had bought a firearm they would have had all that info anyway. Maybe I'm being unreasonable but I won't visit that store again.3 points

few weeks back or so maybe more (days running together due to overtime at work) N Korea was talking about testing a missile and atomic bomb together. I thought that would be the prefect time for a stealth raid to fly in and drop a precision bomb on target and take out the launch facility with minimal lose of lives and never take any credit for it. Headlines around the world would have read N. Korea test rocket and bomb blows up on pad. While in N. Korea news would read, successful nuclear test.3 points

The current talk is allowing Feinstein's bill to come to a vote on the floor so that red state democrats can vote against it and say they helped defeat an AWB. Then, with that out of the way, they'll introduce a bill with universal background checks, federal trafficking provisions and a magazine capacity limit. They're going into the "negotiation" with the preconceived idea gun owners are going to give up something.3 points

There's some speculation that the "stealth jet" they unveiled yesterday is actually a GI-Joe toy from the 80's3 points

Just saw that Stalone's new movie is being panned and is a low draw at this weekends' movie opening. Supposedly only brought in 4.5 Mil in ticket sales, making it pretty bad in the $ return. Wonder if his Gun stance comments/ 2nd Ammendent vs his "violent movie stlye" hypocrisy is causing some of us to shy away from the old action "hero"?2 points

Real question is, what was it scanned INTO? Did he use a barcode scanner, or actually flat bed scan (copy) an image of your DL? - OS2 points

Old school? How many of us really remember old school. My first gun for playing soldier....a stick. My first sword....a stick. My first hideout...a bunch of sticks. I miss that my boys never got to "play" the way we did. Sun up, cereal, start heading to someone else's house till at least 3 were in the group and then into the fields or woods. Ride bikes, walk, swim if we wanted. Lunch optional. Dinner was when the mom's in the area started hollering from the back porches. Where's the way back machine when you need it.2 points

With our victories over the past 20 years in both state legislatures and the judicial system, the gun grabbers know that this is their last, best chance to do anything. If they can't get it done now, they probably won't get another chance. This may in fact be their final stand. While on one hand that seems like reason to celebrate, be careful. People who feel like they've got nothing to lose are some of the most dangerous adversaries out there.2 points

I'll take that as a compliment. It's actually in my parents attic. My 5 yr old saw it and the rest of my GI Joe stuff at their house before Christmas. When his little brother gets bigger they'll both get the GI Joe stuff and about 40 billion legos. heh... I also have one of these... and one of these... among other things... :)2 points

I can see the Craigslist ad WTS/ WTT LIKE NEW FORD RAPTOR I purchased this beautiful truck yesterday after convincing the wife that we didn't need a minivan. On the way home we decided to to take the scenic route. The truck has great acceleration and at one point it felt like we were riding on air...2 points

North Korea is doing he same crap that they were doing when I was stationed in South Korea 25 years ago. It's all about controlling their people. They may be a minor threat to our allies in the region, but no more than a piss ant if they decide to play with the big boys.2 points

I really wish that Uncle Ted would replace Wayne LaPierre as the NRA spokesman. Uncle Ted conveys the thoughts of everyone I know much better than LaPierre. LaPierre comes off as just another guy who's being paid to lobby for the NRA who reads from prepared statements where Uncle Ted is speaking from the heart and is able to adapt to his critics very well on the fly.2 points

still seems like a tax to exercise a right Do we pay a tax on any other enumerated rights? Will background checks stop people such as your brother from getting a gun?2 points

I'm always impressed with how articulate Ted is. Regardless of what one may think of him, he is one of the best spokesmen for the Second Amendment that we have right now. Piers can go suck...... an egg.2 points

Watched the video of the session. It did nothing to ease my feeling that something is amiss behind the scenes...although it was fun to see Jackson have to be corrected with regards to last year's passage of SB3002 by the Judiciary cmte. An interesting aside...Ophelia Ford is doing a bang-up job channeling Roseanne Roseannadanna with both her appearance and her babbling...1 point

2 seconds between mags ain't gonna save that many lives....if a demented person decides to practice a week or two before entering the Gun Free Zone of his liking that is. Actually, in the Aurora and Oregon shooting the big mags jammed and proved to be a curse to the shooters and a blessing to the victims. Probably saved more lives than 10 round mags would have.1 point

She knew it would not pass. What were they doing while we were occupied with this garbage? This was a smoke screen. They all knew damn well they couldn't get around the 2nd amendment. "Watch this hand, don't worry what our other hand is doing". :rant:1 point

I wouldn't like that either. I would have demanded my info back. What store was it? I think it is valid that if that is their policy, everyone should know who it is. That's not the way to treat people. They should also respond and say why they do this just to look at a gun.1 point

I have mixed feelings about this. While, like every other person with any sense, I would see a way to prevent the violently mentally ill from getting at any sort of weapons (my uncle did a number with a hacksaw, its aint just guns), I simply DO NOT TRUST any psych doctors. NONE of them. First you have the tinfoil hat crap: we gonna submit all buyers to a mental exam or just work off the folks that have been to the doctors and been diagnosed? If all buyers get put in (and its been proposed, was that part of the NY overhaul??) what if the doctor is simply anti-gun? How do you appeal it once some jerk decides no one should have a gun and puts you in the system out of spite? How do you prove you are sane in a field where the doctors use as much voodoo as anything else to make diagnoses? Then you have the lines to draw. Is a guy who can be trusted with a bazooka in iraq to be denied a pistol forever in the states when he gets home because he is having trouble adjusting? Do we wait until he strangles someone first to decide? Lot of servicemen have a lot of issues when they get home, fitting in, learning how to do without orders, finding a job, dealing with tons of stuff. Not all of it is a violent form of PTSD, some (many) of the soldiers are for a short time just regular stressed or depressed. Then there is just the entire mental health system. These are the same idiots that prescribe harmful meds to young kids when the only thing "wrong" with the kid is being bored with, lets face it, a dull education system. If that is "medicine" and these are "doctors" you can keep them the hell away from me.1 point

One part of me knows that it's just an attempt to control the population by diverting their attention to another government while telling them that it's said government's fault for their condition; not their government's fault: however, another part of me thinks Truman was a wuss who should have allowed McArthur to wipe the country off the map.1 point

There are police officers who still think it's against the law to carry into a store that sells beer, and that law was changed 10 or 15 years ago.1 point
