Why are they attacking carry permits? I wasn't aware there was a rash of mass shootings being perpetrated by permit holders.6 points

I had a FTF with a business owner that has a gun buster sign on the door. First it started with him having to meet me outside his restaurant and me buying him lunch at another restaurant within walking distance of his. He seemed a little thrown off that I would even offer that. During our conversation he pulled out a business card that was handed to one of his door guys. The card was an IOU for $20.00 redeemable when this person is legally able to carry in his resturant. It said " I was intending on spending money at your business but you do not allow legal gun carry. This is an IOU for $20 redeemable as soon as the gun buster sign comes down and I can legally carry in your business." It also left contact info for that person. I have never seen this before and apparently it got his attention. I think i might make up some of these cards. He said he contacted me because of an email I sent him letting him know that I would answer any questions he has about why I will not spend any money at his restaurant. Also during that discussion I found out that he has never even held a firearm, and knew a buisness owner that was killed by a robber with a gun. It was a long lunch that seemed very productive. He is meeting me at the range next Friday. He said he is rethinking the gun buster, especially after I asked him to point out where my gun was and he could not. I told him that most people are not OC'ing, they want it to go unnoticed. I will update after we meetup next week.5 points
LIBeral reTARDS
I'm starting to lose my level headed respect for the opinions of liberals. I'm developing a true hatred after what I've seen done in the past few months. Two big ones, my taxes going up considerably and a run at my personal property (firearms). I thought it would at least be another year or two before they came at us, but they are just pulling out all the stops and going for the prize. If the Republicans fail to take back the White House in 2016 we are so effed.5 points

Don't do it. I did 4 years ago and drove myself mad. It's gonna be a loooooong time before things might get back to normal. We have never seen the likes of what is going on now.3 points

But was she shot in the back 30 times with a rifle? No. Once with a pistol, from the sound of it. Senseless violence of any kind is senseless. I hope they catch the shooter. But if she had not just been at the big block party for our glorious leader, would it even have made the news? Just another day in that lawless, corrupt city.3 points

Truely sad. But this angers me more because Chicago has some of the toughest gun restrictions(I won't call it legislation at it's unconstitutional) in the country, This incident is proof that gun restrictions don't do jack squat to prevent gun violence.3 points

The first thing that should happen is all those kids removed from the custody of the mother. They are obviously not learning how to act right in their mother's care. Second, the mother should be charged with dilenquency of a minor as well as endangerment for putting those children in that situation. And finally she should be permanently "fixed" so she cannot have another child in her life. As much as most people hate to hear it, in instances like this a mother should never be allowed to have or be around her children again. Do a raid in the middle of the night and snatch her kids up. She should have her ability to have any more children removed as well. And if someone lost a child to state custody they should be required to take birth control or have their tubes tied until they can prove they are responsible adults. And if they manage to get pregnant the kid gets taken as soon as it takes its first breath. We guard against puppy mills but some women act like they are a people mill. We need to figure out an incentive to keep mothers, like the one in the video, from having more children. Heck it might be cheaper to pay would be mothers, who are at high risk for becoming pregnant, to NOT have kids. The whole system is so screwed up now that there is no easy fix. And it will be the kids that suffer the brunt of any reforms, not the parents. Good for the manager for having a camera. And I hope he tazes every single person who acts like that. Maybe after a person gets tazed a few times they will being to think twice about acting like an animal. And that is all people tht act like that are, animals. The more I think about those kids the more infuriated I get. That POS mother has destined her children to a life of misery. She should be punished severly and not just time in a prison cell. If the owner does in fact take the sign down, you HAVE to tell who it was so all the TGO'ers in the area can swing by and have a meal. Everyone that does needs to make a point to ask for the manager and personally thank him.3 points

Let's just throw a bunch more generational welfare money at it and be done with it? We need to stop complaining about "hood rats" and "ghetto trash" and do our part by taking on second jobs. To generate more disposable income and better pacify those that have nothing better to do. Remember... If they had more money, they and their illegitimate spawn would look and act respectable. Get use to it, you owe them and are not doing enough to alleviate their frustrations and acting out. Unfortunately I was not there, had I been... I'd been handing out $20 bills to everyone and then peace and serenity would have erupted everywhere. Where's your compassion folks :stunned:2 points

Boxer wants ALL guns banned. She's not interesed in improving anything. I was leaning toward national reciprocity. With recent events, the Feds need to keep their hands off the whole thing. They're not smart enough to be involved.2 points

Someday this woman is going to be asking herself how her children ended up in prison. Even more sad is that she will have no idea that it was all her fault.2 points

I don't condone hitting women, but I would have broken that woman's jaw if she pushed me like that. I'm tired of females who want to act like men but aren't prepared to deal with MAN consequences. She got her sorry butt tased (which was awesome) but then her male counterpart stepped in to defend her and she acts like the man had no right to zap a female. Sorry ladies, if you want to be treated equally so badly you're gonna have to learn to take a punch without whining about it or expecting a man to stand up for you.2 points

And just recently I was holding a real gun that close to my baby, twice even! I must be the worst father ever, someone could have been seriously harmed! That's almost as stupid as having your crazy ex wife as a FB friend:)2 points

Well that's obviously because of your ignorance of guns. If you would just listen to the media you would know that the mere presence of a gun increases your risk of being shot. I'm just glad the gun didn't have a collapsible stock or it would have shot the baby on full auto. ;)2 points

January 30, 2013 Dear Mark: Thank you for contacting me regarding the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Listening to and learning from Tennesseans is very important to me, and I appreciate that you thought to share this with me. I support our Constitution, including the Second Amendment. Recently, the president signed twenty-three executive orders on gun control. This level of unilateral action bypassing Congress on an issue this important is unprecedented and concerning. We are continuing to review the orders to see if there are any limitations placed on Second Amendment rights. It appears right now that the president put his major efforts to limit the Second Amendment into proposals that must be voted on by Congress. This is important because the House of Representatives can amend, accept or reject these proposals. We will be watching this situation closely, and I know you will also. Again, thank you for taking the time to write. I look forward to working with you and all Tennesseans to make our great state an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. Warmest regards, Bill Haslam BH:nsm1 point

Talk about making an easy job difficult. If you patrol the right streets in Knox County you could probably do that in a couple weeks. And it would NOT cost you a Machine Gun or $35,000 in missing merchandise.1 point

I just read about that tonight. Linked on Sipsey Street Irregulars. I would call that SOP for the F-Troop. At least they didn't call in the FBI to incinerate anyone this time.1 point

Carry permits are a state decision, not federal. She needs to keep her communist agenda in California. Of course, people are starting to flee Commiefornia like crazy now, so these pieces of garbage want to force their crap on the rest of the country. The folks out there need to get their heads out of their asses and stop sending brain dead socialists to the House and Senate. The same goes for New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, etc.1 point

Do not buy the 1000 to begin. I have been loading for a long time and I do not use my 1000 because it is too tempermental. Good luck finding reloadable 7.62x39, they are rare and generally expensive. When I wanted accurate 7.62x39 I would tear down steel case ammo and use known goo powder and bullets. As far as finding 45 and 9mm look on the ground at the range. A1680 powder is the powder generally used for 7.62x39. There are dozens, literally, of different kinds of powders that will work with 45 ACP and 9mm. I would highly recommend a single stage press to begin or at least a turret but not a progressive. You need to buy a reloading manual and read it. There is a lot of stuff involved and reading about it will only enhance your safety. Dolomite1 point

That's about right for brass-cased ammo. If you started reloading today with no components bought before the storm you might be able to reload at that price now.1 point

Control is their main objective. They want to tell us what to drive, eat, drink, what to watch on TV and what to listen to on the radio. They tell us what is permissible morally, religiously and politically. They can't help themselves. It's at the core of who they are. If I choose to eat junk food, drink large sugary sodas, smoke tobbaco (pot seems to be ok to them), drive an SUV and listen to talk radio then it's MY business! And I alone will suffer any consequences. Sorry for the rant.1 point

My wife also hated the .38 snubby I rented for her. Between the muzzle blast and heavy DA trigger, she hated it. I didn't much like it either. Now she has an all metal S&W 9mm compact. Runs like a top, 12+1 capacity, mild recoil, and she has no issue 'racking the slide'. That said, you should get her the handgun she picks. And speaking of women and 'racking the slide'... I've shown a bunch how to do it and all of them could do my .45 compact with ease once they learned how. The thing I learned is that most women have some apprehension about it, so they're tentative. That's what prevents them from doing it. Once you get them past that hurdle and convince them that they can't hurt the gun or themselves, its easy. "That mindless hunk of metal is mocking you. Get a little angry at it. Don't let it beat you." A little aggression and voila, they do it easily. .... Read more -> http://www.corneredcat.com/article/running-the-gun/rack-the-slide/1 point

I wish every gun owner would stand up and fight this as a whole! We need to all send letter to these anti-gun businesses and let them know we'll divest in them if they screw with gun manufactures. The ones who are being bullied, but don't want to screw the firearms industry, we should give them all the support they need! They are playing the "Rahm Emanuel, never let a good crisis go to waste" and Saul Alinsky methods flawlessly here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb-YuhFWCr41 point

With my hand on the pump, I can easily reach the switch with my thumb extended toward the target. But I have long thumbs. As you can see, I have the light mounted near the business end of the barrel, but the switch is about 2" from the pump (3rd picture). You can always mount the light a little further back, but you might introduce some barrel shadow. With the Surefire, you lock the light on with a twist of the last inch of the light housing. Depending on the situation, I have the option of leaving the light on or pressing the switch to turn it on and releasing to turn it off.1 point

No one mentions a .22 cal? The Ruger SP22 is a pretty awesome handgun and everyone in my house can use it with ease. I know most people don't like to rely on a .22 cal, but it's still a vicious little weapon. Plus, most of them hold 10 or more rounds and the recoil is almost non-existant, and the noise inside of a closed house is a lot less. Unless you have a crackhead breaking in your house... it's not going to take too many shots for someone to change their mind about entering. :2cents:1 point

yeah the 700 aac-sd is a great all around rifle, plus its threaded so you can add a muzzle break or a suppressor. The upgrades you can do to to a Remington 700 are countless, but its great as is. I am a big fan of Manner stocks and Jewell trigger and upgraded bolt knobs.1 point

"The applicant has not been convicted of the offense of driving under the influence of an intoxicant in this or any other State two (2) or more times within ten (10) years from the date of application and that none of such convictions has occurred within five (5) years from the date of application or renewal. " Basically the way i read that is that the and is conjunctive and that to be precluded you would have to not only have 2 within the last 10 years but one or more of them would have to be within 5 years. I obviously am not an attorny and dont even play one on TV, nor did i stay at a holiday inn express last night. It is a good bit of money put into the application process, but thats really all you have to loose is the cost of the process.1 point
No kids in my house. I always keep one close, but the rest are locked in the safe. All my Glocks stay chambered, even if they're locked up. If the hair is up on the back of my neck for some reason, there's an AR close as well.
Same here. No kids. Never will. I will say for those of you with kids, keep them locked up tight. BUT don't hide them. My old man kept his handguns hidden. Needless to say,I found them and knowing full well it was wrong, I played with them often. I was staying home by myself by the time I was 12 and I tell you, a 12 year old has NO business running around the woods with a 357. I did. Thankfully I didn't hurt myself or anyone else. I only did it because I wasn't allowed to see them. Had I been allowed to see them I wouldn't have cared enough to find them and boost them for their supposed secure location. Don't hide them people. It's not the gun it's the mystery that get kids in trouble.1 point
