Should be here within a week then the real wait begins. I struck a deal to trade my 100% reliable and converted Saiga for a stock Saiga plus the funds to buy this stock. I am waiting until we get a chance to meet. He is 3 hours away and we are meeting in the middle. These stocks are the only reason I bought my Saiga in the first place. It has taken the maker a few years of developement before being released. Once I get my hands on the unmodified Saiga I will give it the "treatment". I will get the barrel chopped to 15" and a flash hider permanently welded on to bring it to 18". I will probably have the barrel threaded internally for standard chokes as well. I will polish the bolt to make loading with the bolt forward easier as well as aid reliability. I will install a 1911 spring for reliability. I will make a puck of my own design that also helps reliability. I will likely drill out the gas ports as well for reliability with low brass ammo. And I will go through the trigger to clean it up as well. I haven't decided on what I will be using for sights. I might get and ultimak and use a red dot. Or maybe work out a way to use irons. I can't wait. Dolomite2 points

Yeah. Just like driving an extra couple miles just to save a penny on gas. By the time you get there, you've burnt up your savings. But most people don't think like that. Makes me want to beat em with a sack full of hammers though.2 points

Statistically, one of the most effective ways to avoid being the victim of a violent crime is to avoid criminal activity.2 points

No I'm not missing anything here, I as a business owner invite you onto my property under certain terms and conditions, you're free to dislike my terms and conditions and stay off my property... that includes the terms and conditions of where, how, and what you park in my parking lot. If you violate those terms and conditions I'm free to ask you to leave and not return. If you refuse to leave or return after being asked to leave, I can have you charged with the crime of trespass. First, property rights aren't granted by the government anymore than your 2nd amendment rights are granted by the government... Life, Liberty, and Property are inalienable rights granted by our creator, and only protected by the constitution. So you right to self defense (life), is the same as your right to property. Second, we don't need to restrict rights where equals are free to contract between each other... This is a problem of convenience not a problem of your rights being infringed. You have other less drastic options open to you as a permit holder and 2nd amendment supporter... your lack of desire to select those options should not be a cause for me to loose my property rights (more than they've already been eroded today). I find companies asking me to wear a tie offensive... I just hate ties :) So I should get the legislature to prohibit companies from firing employees that don't follow their dress code just because I don't like to wear a tie everyday? Frankly, this is the level of silliness built into the current parking lot bill. You know how I resolved by dislike for wearing ties? I don't work for a company that requires I wear a tie everyday :) Just like I don't work for a company that requires that I travel to and from work (or at work in my case) as an unarmed sheep. Could I make more money if I'd go to work someplace that required I wear a tie everyday? Yes. Just as I could make more money working someplace that required that I be unarmed everyday... but I prioritize my security (and hatred for ties) over my paycheck amount, and take the effort to live below my means. Put on your bigboy pants, start looking for a job at a pro-gun company (there are a lot of them out there), and make the move away from a company that doesn't have your best interests at heart... Sure you might be able to shoot a little less often, or have to drive your car for a few more years... but it's a great freedom to wake up every morning and know you set your own destiny (except for the huge hand of big brother breathing down your neck constantly). And it's that huge hand of big brother (government) that we should be working against not businesses and their private property rights.2 points

And it's exactly why everyone needs to start contacting people instead of taking a lazy stance thinking that it just won't go through. We already learned a lesson about how when people just stay at home and don't take action in a zero sum event, and that the absence of their vote equals a vote for the opposing team.2 points

There are several very active pro-gun organizations started by veterans. Oathkeepers is about as pro-gun as you can get. Veterans probably have a higher level of support for firearms rights than the general populace. But, they are just folks like everyone else and many have opinions opposed to ours.2 points

No, no, and HELL NO! This will not make any difference in crime stats. And I WILL NOT comply with any registration attempts. Historically, registration ALWAYS leads to confiscation. In NY, they know who has legal semi-auto rifles. Guess where they will be looking for 30rd magazines when the one-year grace period is over? And, if the specific rifle is no longer legal, guess how they will know where to look for folks who decided to not comply with such an obviously unConstitutional law? It's happened before, right here in the US. If we permit these 'Universal Background Checks', then that Form 4473 becomes defacto firearm registration.2 points

Methinks Sig Sauer has out sales repped Gaston or something. Maybe Sig stole S&W's guys. Sigs are too complicated for cops. And 99.984% of cops nationwide couldn't wear out a Hi-Point in 4 years, let alone a Glock. - OS2 points

What we need is some damning proof that implicates the government. Right now there is none that anyone has been able to find. Conveniently the Connecticut State Police just yesterday released their final determination of what guns were used in the Sandy Hook school shooting. You can see the report here. For some reason it took them four weeks to nail down the details on what guns were used. Four weeks. Ray Charles, rest his soul, could have come to a conclusion faster than that. I'm with you guys to an extent. Something smells. I'm not stealing my wife's Reynolds Wrap just yet but I know where she keeps it.2 points

Thanks. So let me elaborate a little and just put this out there. The staff and I are pretty much worn out. Between the server problems that I've been fighting for almost 30-40 hours a week on top of my normal 40-50 hr job and then all of the chaos surrounding the political climate, we've been burning the candle at both ends and in the middle. Something had to give. It didn't take long for me to spot the fact that regardless of our good intentions and desire to not allow people to post a bunch of crap on TGO at ridiculous mark-ups, the bottom line is there was just no practical way for us to police that stuff. And furthermore, we shouldn't. If somene wants to list PMAGs for $100 each, I will be the first to agree [privately] that they're out of their minds and that sooner or later the market WILL correct itself and those things won't be worth near that much money. But we see this in the stock market every day and no one complains if they make bank off of Google stock today after paying a fraction for it a few months ago. This is the free market and that's just how people make money. That being said, I'm sure some folks are getting sick and tired of the rules changing every week or two. Believe me... so am I. That's why this is the final word on pricing in the Trading Post. The market will determine what is a realistic price from here on out. But we're absolutely not going to tolerate people crapping in each other's threads either. If something is priced high, so be it. Keep the comments out of those threads and let them die on the vine.2 points

So a news report on 15 December claimed that no rifle was used despite the fact ALL reports afterward confirm that a rifle was used. So, either the earlier report (during all the chaos) was erroneous or this is a conspiracy involving thousands of people who all practice better OPSEC than any intelligence agency ever ever. If that is the case then this should be easy to believe: So a news report on 15 December claimed that the shooter's father was killed in the hours before the school shooting. So, either the earlier report (during all the chaos) was erroneous or the shooter's father has a body double who was already trained to have the same personality, demeanor and voice of the actual father and would likely be part of the same vast conspiracy.2 points

Received this message last week from Sheriff Buck: "As Sheriff of McNairy County it is my job to protect the constitutional rights of our citizens. The second amendment is a right, not a privilege and shall not be infringed upon. As long as I am Sheriff of McNairy County, I will not allow anyone to seize any firearms from law abiding citizens within this county.†Sheriff Guy Buck 19 January 20131 point

Received from state Sen. Mark Geen. A stand up guy. I voted for him last election, and plan on doing the same in the future. Sir I assure you I will support all legislation to protect our second amendment rights. I firmly believe the second amendment was written as the final checks and balances on the government. It's authors had just a few years before used their weapons to overthrow a tyrannical government. Their intent is clear. There should be no limitations. Thanks, Mark1 point

All the more reason we need to do it ourselves. Just as no person should become dependent on the government, neither should we become dependent on the NRA to fight for our gun rights. It's time that every gun owner take an active role in the preservation of our rights as law-abiding gun owners.1 point

http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-turn-in-an-assault-weapon-get-a-tax-break-20130115,0,3935943.story If this passes I'm going out to the yard to get a stick, then I'm going to paint it black and insist that I get a $2000 tax credit for turning it in. When some government official tells me that said stick is not an assault weapon I will commence beating them until I have a $4000 tax credit.1 point

Its a bad idea. Sexual assult claims, rape claims, and in country pregnacys will go through the roof if they put women in grunt units. Not to mention now needing seperate facilites in a combat zone. And not to be sexist, but it takes a lot of upper body strength to pull a man out of a bad situation in a full combat load. Woman are naturally weaker in the upper body. They need to be able to pass the same PT test as the men before serving in a line unit. I don't know about know, but when I got out of the Marines last year it was still curved heavily for women on the PFT, and CFT.1 point

"Gimme your wallet or I am going to kill you" --- "You seem angry and hostile, how do you FEEL about that" Nope, not gonna work methinks. If you throw out the assaults that are pure evil (rape, robbery, or just murder for fun), the criminal element (rival gang, rival drug dealer, double crossed ilicit transaction, etc), the whackos (mass shootings, rampage for fun, etc), and accidents (derp, it was LOADED and just "went off") what you have left is a very tiny number of shootings where to idiots, often under the influence of something (back to being criminals and victimless crime again) get into a fight (often they know each other, relatives or even drunk friends) and one of em shoots the other. For that 0.1 % of shootings where the guys get PO'ed and shoot each other in anger, they might be on to something. But this is a very, very low number (again, ignoring the criminals that know each other, even if it is out of anger --- that does not count for me).1 point

Unfortunately the military knows how to take the fun out of almost anything and that includes shooting. Most Soldiers really do not get a lot of trigger time and when they do its usually hurry up and qualify. You wouldnt enjoy it as much either if you went to range at 4 or 5 in the morning came home late at night just to shoot 58 rounds1 point

how does a band fake playing, especially that band. Wouldn't people nearby notice the lack of sound from them? I don't get that part. Don't really care if Beyonce lip synced it or not.1 point

Newsweek? Are they still around? Their circulation is what, 20 or 30? I'll bet that they sell more magazines to conservatives who get outraged by the cover than to anyone else. A lot of liberal media are like that. They only make money because ticked-off conservatives pay attention to them. That doofus Piers Morgan only has viewers because he makes conservatives mad. I refuse to let them maker money from me. Ignore them and they will disappear.1 point

I would encourage everyone to get personally involved in the TFA and help make the changes come about! The RINOS have seen what can happen (Maggart) if these TFA and NRA set their sights on them. The bigger the membership, the better the results. The TFA does a lot more for us locally than the NRA but I believe that membership in both would be best! Don't wait for them to fight our fights!1 point

Thank you for the welcome. I'm not trying to be a contrarian, but I'm confused. I understood that your "castle" extended to your car and other places. If a bad guy is trying to break into my car to get to me or my wife, and we are in fear for our lives, I can shoot him with a firearm that I'm not supposed to have? Would that be a correct interpretation of a given scenario?1 point
