I think we should stop catering to the "newspeak" of the gun grabbing left. What do I mean by "newspeak": High capacity "clip"= Full capacity magazine Assault Weapons= Common household semi-automatic firearms. Gun show loophole=Ability to sell personal property and help another law abiding citizen exercise their 2nd amendment rights without govt. intrusion w/fees and taxes. You mean the ability to give my son my 30-30 winchester that my grandfather gave me without filling out a 4473, paying taxes and inviting the govt. into my living room. Registered guns= Unless you have an NFA 34 item we do not have a national registry in this country YET. I hate it when I hear: "Hey the gun is "registered" in my name! Automatic Weapons= Again, common household semi-automatic firearms. Rednecks building arsenals in their basement=You mean law abiding citizens investing in hard commodities that: Appreciate in value, keep forever, have a story to tell(dads hunting rifle), may save a life, can put food on the table, is a tradable commodity. Gun Control=Victim Disarmament. Your a "gun nut"= No I am a pro bill of rights freedom nut. Common sense gun control=What part of "Shall not be infringed" are we not clear on here? These are a start. We must turn this thing around.5 points

Using the "even if it only saves one child" argument is very poor thinking indeed. I am not taking away the value of human life here, but is one child's (or adult's) life really worth the Republic we live in? We could ban cars 100% and save probably a thousandfold of lives per day, but we don't. Lets ban swimming pools, even if it only saves one child's life, it is worth it. Lets ban electricity, even if it saves only one child's life, it is worth it. Lets ban candy, even if it saves only one child's life, it is worth it. "One child's life" gives some people a fuzzy feeling inside, so they eat it up. They bask in the warm, fuzzy feeling they create and throw logical thinking out the door. Banning certain types of firearms may save a single child's life, but must you ignore the multitude of innocent people who died because they couldn't defend themselves legally with the types of firearms you just banned?4 points

Its easy to see where he is coming from. As a communist, he is unable to comprehend the idea of "massive profits". As a pro-police state type, it makes no sense to sell guns that will be illegal soon. It all adds up: since profits and guns are both soon to be pointless in the america of the future, hopefully as soon as next week, the logical thing to do is to stop the madness voluntarily rather than wait for the swat team to shut you down. Makes perfect sense, once you stick your head in a microwave for 1/2 an hour.3 points

True or not, I don't give a flying you-know-what. Our right is recognized by the constitution, and executive orders aren't a trump card. Yep, a lot of people have paid more than they might have otherwise - hey, elections have consequences. Way I see it, though, there are hundreds of thousands of new owners with skin in the game. The scalpers that bought for resale can take it in the wallet, for all I care, but the newbies now have a vested interest in safeguarding our rights.3 points

That's pretty much my policy too. My bucks are pretty much apolitical. Wally can belong to Bloomberg's bunch or donate to Planned Parenthood, whatever. Sort of a "what they say" as opposed to "what they do" -- includes politicians, too. I'll "vote" for firearms freedom by buying guns and ammo from Wally, and the cheaper the better. As long as firearm companies are willing to sell to them, I'm willing to buy from them. And yep, I'll still buy something from CTD if it's far and away the best price. I believe free capitalism promotes more freedom than most any other ism. - OS2 points

I think you are confusing using common sense and exercising good judgement with "sitting on your butts". I would love to go but work will not allow me to take off. As some have said on here they will be going but at the first sign of a group of "Rambo's" showing up they will be outta there. If you think for one minute that there is a lack of genuine concern for this country and our 2A rights on TGO then I am afraid you are mistaken. Many things could go wrong with this and it also might go without a hitch. The fact stands that there are idiots with guns out there and a lot of them may be in attendance. Don't judge everyone here on the mere fact that they choose not to participate.2 points

OMG... NO ONE RUSHED TO WELCOME ME SO I MUST BE THE ONLY HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY, GOD FEARING PERSON HERE!!!!!1 :panic: In case you haven't noticed, this site is huge. We see an average of 60-75 new registrations a day right now because of the political climate and the fact that a lot of people are waking up and realizing that something important is at risk of being lost if folks don't get involved. Your introductory post is one of a handful that maybe got missed by the dozen or so folks who actually make it their mission to welcome new members to this community. You'll have to pardon them for not seeing that you had finally arrived and heralding it with trumpets and confetti. Welcome to TGO. Don't be high maintenance.2 points

History is ripe with all sorts of conspiracy's, false-flag operations & manufactured crisis, whether or not Sandyhook is yet another example of one of these is way above & beyond my paygrade. The motivating factors behind the vast majority of these sorts of things is almost always CONTROL, POWER &/or MONEY. For the folks who don't think hundreds or even thousands of people can keep a secret? Well you would be very mistaken, again all you have to do is open a history book or two, plenty of examples of massive "secret" plans/projects/conspiracy's, etc, involving thousands, even tens of thousands of people who some how were either ideologically driven, economically driven or fearfully driven to keep their mouths shut. Was Sandyhook was a real event or a staged one? I personally believe that it really happened, but I suppose it is possible that it could have been staged. If you believe that it would be impossible for our government to even consider, let alone do such a thing, you might want to educate yourself on just how dirty our government is willing to get its hands if they believe that the ends justify the means. Do yourself a favor by researching the now declassified "Operation Northwoods", which was drafted way back in 1962 & authorized by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is a serious eye opener to anyone & everyone who likes to "tin-foil hats!" the very possibility of members of our own government being involved in something like what happened at Sandyhook.2 points

I've been thinking about all of the possibilities of what could happen, what might happen, what should be the outcome, etc. I've come to the conclusion that the media is the problem and the enemy. The media needs to be cleansed. They are corrupt, inept, incompetent, have an agenda, and are merely the extension of the liberal Democrat party. They are where 0bama, Dems and whining liberals get their power. Imagine the past 30 years with an unbiased media who actually reported the news objectively rather than creating "news" or covering up the truth. The so-called "media" is absolutely FULL of lies. The lies MUST STOP! The media must be cleaned up, perhaps by force if necessary. They are the crux of the problem in my estimation. They constantly lie and are not held accountable. They are given a pass. Their falsifications MUST be exposed and stopped. They are what have enabled 0bama and those like him. They are give him power. The power that they derive from their offices is very weak compared to the power that a lapdog media gives them. This is where the battle is in my opinion. Food for thought.2 points

It's definitely a lot of work. It's an emotional roller coaster. I hear guys complain about trivial things that there kids do and I have to laugh. Someone always has it worse than you. You just never expect it to be a two year old blind girl that has never had any human contact. I have a lot of people ask me why. They wouldn't have to ask if they saw that same little girl smile from ear to ear when I touch her face with my beard and whisper " daddy's home"2 points

Senator Barack Obama, March 2006 "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here'. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." President Barack Obama, January 14, 2013 At today’s press conference, President Obama said “most Americans hadn't heard about (the debt ceiling) two years agoâ€. "I want to be clear about this. "Raising the debt ceiling ... simply allows the country to pay for spending Congress has already committed to. The debt ceiling is not a question of authorizing more spending." He warns of the consequences, saying not raising the debt ceiling "would be a self-inflicted wound on the economy." "The full faith and credit of the United States economy is not a bargaining chip. The financial well-being of the American people is not leverage to be used. It is absurd."1 point

Let me add Jerry Ahern's Survivalist Series. Kinda old and dated now; but pretty good. And the books he collaborated on with his wife Sharon wer even better. BTW, Jerry Ahern passed away last year, so we won't get any more from him. RIP. But at least his Deutonics Pistols live on, sorta. But for me, one of the best of the genre has to be One Second After. Really brings it all down to a base level and shows what the real people might endure in such an event.1 point

I have no doubt that the commission will suggest reinstating the AWB. I would be willing to bet that Obama backs it in voice. I doubt he'll spend much political capital on it, though. This is a case where he can have his cake and eat it, too. He can recommend the AWB, Congress can quash it, then he can blame the Republicans in the House for every act of violence out there. It's a win-win for him. On the flip side, if the idiots in Congress are dumb enough to actually take it up and pass something, he gets what he's wanted without having to expend any energy on it. An executive order potentially costs him big in goodwill and political capital. I just don't see him doing it.1 point

After getting some sleep and then doing a little bit more research on the issue, it does appear that orders being placed at the store level are being rejected by their ordering system, not by some dictate handed done from corporate that forbids ordering. Now this is hearsay, but it seems that Walmart is having to pay more for ammo, and prices will more than likely increase in the future. It is amazing how changing or adding certain words like "forbidden, can't, won't allow" etc... in discussions can lead to a firestorm of controversy and speculation.1 point

Spend a little time researching the stances of House and Senate Leadership, and see the discarded bodies of those legislators who have championed ANY efforts to expand our firearms carry capabilities. I also believe it happened . I however am not sure as to who did it , if he acted alone , what he or they did it with and so on. I believe we get told what they ( The Government ) wants us to believe. I do not believe the "facts" add up and something seems to be off . In December of 1978 the House Select Commitee on Assassinations finally said there was a second gunman and more than 3 shots in the JFK assassanation. Too much evidence to prove that the original story didn't add up. This happened because We the people kept searching for the truth !! I guess it is also known as polihing our tin hat . I do not think it is wrong to question the facts in any event and no matter WHO is telling the facts. The Government is not above suspicion just because they release the "facts" . If you don't question the Government then you must believe , that these guns are the problem and without guns no murders will happen and slick Willie didn't have sex with that women. The evidence must be overwhelming but they have had to change the official story on events before. That means the official story was not correct or a lie either to protect someone or cover there onwn butt or just that we couldn't know the truth . Never said it didn't happen , I am not sure it happened exactly like we are told it happened. There is a big difference in not believing it happend and not believing it happened like we are told it did. Not saying the Government is or is not involved or did or didn't know about it ahead of time. I am saying that when you leave so many unanswered questions in the minds of so many and give facts that change so many times before the "official" story is agreed upon , then you do nothing but create the breeding ground for the conspiracy theories. A large part of the problem in my OPINION is the media!! Plain and simple , they try to be the first with "the breaking news" , the new updated facts and so on that they don't seem to care as much about accurate facts as they do about keeping you on their channel for the ratings . Sometimes there is very little, if any truth in the facts we are told by the media . Figures don't lie but liers figure. If they can twist some fact to fit their agenda , they will . For example , Fact , x number of gun murders in Britian last year .That number x is a true fact but the truth we need to know is " if you remove as many guns as you can over a 15 year period GUN murders will go down but did MURDER go down . How many murders were committed last year? You have only removed 1 tool used to commit the act . If guns were banned , how did you have any gun murders at all ? I think it is healthy to ask questions no matter who is giving the story. View the evidence and do your own resaerch until you have your questions answered to what you can accept as the truth or in some cases to the point you realize that there is not enough facts available to come to a deffinite conclusion . I do not have to accept any version of any event just because whoever said it happened that way . I don't want anyone to accept what I say on anything . Do some research because if you are reading this , you have access to a computer . If this makes me a tin hat person , then so be it. Give me a membership card and some Brasso , I got some polishing to do .1 point

Never count your chickens before they hatch . But every new gun sale , every new NRA member every email ,letter or call to your elected leaders send the message that we are informed and ready to dispute the false facts and stand up for our rights . Anyone with the hopes of re election knows it would be political suicide . Everyday that passes will make it that much harder for them to get it passed . Don't give an inch , make the calls and send the emails .1 point

I can tell you from personal experiance that some of these drugs are a problem with some people . In 2008 I lost felling in my left leg due to degenerative disc disease. When I went to the doctor I was not thinking as clear as he seemed to think one should or something . I seemed depressed to him . I was in extreme pain , Wondering if It was going to be permanent and Thinking " am I going to be able to work "and so on . To me these are normal thought but He prescribed zololf for me and I too one pill. That day me and my wife ( of 28 years ) had a terrible argument and I was as irritable as could be . She realized it was the medicine . I am not saying I am that pleasant to start with but this was a change for the worse. I threw them away and and told him "I am supposed to be depressed I can't walk and I have a family deppending on me " . Never took another one and never will. Some doctors are all about getting you on another pill . Life is not always a bowl of cherries and sometmes it is normal to be depressed. Part of being an adult is learning to deal with what is going on around you . In my opinion ( that means nothing ) some believe that everytime you feel a little down you need something for it. I am not one of those. When for example a parent dies , or you are in your late 40's and you can't stand up , YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DEPRESSED . But they want to shove some pill down you so you don't fell the normal feelings that you should be having . Some of these kids have been on everything under the sun for ADD and whatever they can come up and call it when most of the just had lacking of a parent being a parent and disciplining the child like they should have. After years of not having their true feeling and they hit some bump in the road of life , they can't handle it and go nuts. Thay are handed an award everytime they do some little thing at school that was nothing when I grew up . Everyone has to get an award or the others might feel left out or inferior in some way . I always told my kids life wasn't fair and to get used to it and deal with it . As a child you learn many things and to me learning to deal with what is going on around you is one of them. Life is what you can make it with what you have to make it with. I have always tried to do what was right . I don't steal and I don't buy anything that I think is stolen . I don't have much but what I have is mine . I worked and paid for it and can lay down at night with a clear conscience . I believe in God and always felt you will have to answer for wwhat you do at some point in time. It is not up to me to judge these people , but I knoe the gun did not do it on its own. To me it is the person behind the gun that is always the problem . The responsibility lies on the person that pulled the trigger . Everytime you send a bullet out of a firearm ,YOU are responsible for what happens !!!! Good or bad YOU did it and if YOU can't handle that , then don't pick up a gun. The problem is not the gun. YOU are also resposible for storage of your firearms . I always lock the car and hide it if it is left in there . Again this is just my opinion and that doesn't mean much . Sorry for the rant . In closing , I believe it would be more productive to start looking at the shooters for the problem . Medicine might be a contributing factor and I feel it is . Seems the 2 of latest grew up in high dollar income families so being poor and deprived can be ruled out on those 2 shootings . Violence from games , movies or TV some say is the problem . Maybe so but if you can't tell the difference in games and Hollywood " YOU HAVE A PROBLEM "!!!!! As some may know I sort of have a tin foil hat so ,I am not sure we will ever get to the bottom of it and get the truth. I am not convinced that there was just one shooter in either shooting .But the gun in thier hand was evil simply because the person was evil. You MUST look at what you can change and accept what you can't but the main thing is to know the difference in what you can change and what you must accept. You CAN'T change the fact that the gun doesn't fire on its own so we must look somewhere else !! As a resposible gun owner you are responsible for the storage as well . That doesn't mean that someone can't steal your gun and use it in a crime but at least make it to where they had to leave evidence that it was stolen . Broken window or something so when you report it stolen there is some kind of proof that it was locked up. Again this is my opinion ,The responsibility for every bullet that comes out of a gun lies on the SHOOTER , good or bad , right or wrong that is what I believe . If you can't answer the results of the bullet you send out of the barrel , THE PLEASE DO NOT PICK THE GUN UP. I do not believe that criminals or those with some mental problems should have access to firearms. that is where the buck stops with me.1 point

I wonder; If James really does present a danger to the public, how exactly does suspending or revoking (or whatever they officially did) his HCP gong to protect anyone??? If he were truly a "danger" isn't he still a danger? Does he have permits from other states? If he really is intent on "killing people" do we think the lack of an HCP is going to stop that any more than a "gun free zone" stops crazy people from shooting up movie theaters or elementary schools? I think this is TNDHS flexing its muscles and doing so in a way that ought to make all of us a bit nervous.1 point

All said and done, WallyWorld is still the best bet for quality practice ammo. I buy WWB FMJ ammo in the big boxes in both .38 Spcl and .40S&W.
