2. If we did we could find ourselves in much worse state of affairs than we are now. If we seceded I can guarantee there would be no interstate commerce coming in or going out because we are no longer a state. Also, those states who don't secede will likely be pressured into boycotting anything related to Tennessee. Yes we can keep our taxes collected but the money does no good if we can't buy anything with it. The federal government would blockade the state and everything we would get would come in as part of the blackmarket, increasing costs to way more than what we pay now. We better be careful what we ask for because we might get it. As glamorous as it sounds to secede from the union hundreds of thousands, if not millions, would be far worse off. We would starve and turn into a third world country in a matter of days. Dolomite

I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is a our separation agreement: --Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. --We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. --You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. --Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. --We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel. --You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill. --We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find. --You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. --We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.. --We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem." --I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World". --We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot. --Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag. Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you might think about which one of us will need whose help in 15 years. Sincerely, John J. Wall Law Student and an American P.S. 5. A better solution would be for the "state" to take back its full states rights and opt out of all the blackmail federal programs, laws and regulations. Stop collecting federal taxes and sending it to Washington. If it's not granted to the Federal Government in the Constitution, it's the states and peoples alone.

 8. To quote our illustrious Sec. of Sate:
HILLARY APRIL 28, 2003: I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic, and we should stand up and say, "WE ARE AMERICANS AND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DEBATE AND DISAGREE WITH ANY ADMINISTRATION!"
It's one of the few things she ever said that I agree with. Of course, she meant it's patriotic to disagree with the Bush administration, not really any administration, but I digress. Not liking it here, or disagreeing with with the path our elected officials are taking is not being a sore loser. It's who we are and it's what keeps us free. It keeps us from swinging left into totalitarian communism or right into totalitarian fascism. When that dissenting voice on either side gets squashed we are all lesser for it. Even, or perhaps especially, when it's a voice we disagree with. I don't think secession is likely path, or even a good path. It's a system that works if we get people in who can and will do their jobs as they're supposed to. I've about given up on a President from either party to have the will, or even the desire to reign in federal power. It's up to Congress and the state legislatures. They don't have to secede to give Washington the finger, but it;s going to be painful if they ever do. We're all pretty dependent on the federal dole, whether we know it or not.

 9. Perhaps I am out of touch, or just unwilling to accept the 'truth'. I think anyone who genuinely believes this half-assed attempt at a succession is a good idea is freaking out of their mind. You have no idea the kind of hell that would be brought upon us (read: YOU) in a matter of days. It would not be fun, revolutionary, or whatever idealistic viewpoint you have on it. Anyone who signs this has never set foot into a third world country, and you should if you are foolish enough to want this. If you did, you wouldn't dream of such a stupid idea.

Yeah its gonna cost me a $100 deductible to get my truck fixed. But I still feel bad for not taking him in a hunter be hunted fashion. Thats why I thought it'd be bad kharma to mount him. Though I didnt want to mount him as a display, my son just said it would be cool to mount him upside down hang it in his room so he could hang his .22 rifle and his hats on the rack. Oh, and he ushered in the foundations of what has us in the unfortunate place we now find ourselves.
There was nothing honorable in the practice of slavery nor was there anything honorable in brothers taking up arms against their brothers. The Civil War was not Lincoln's fault; it was just his problem to deal with...we have a Constitution and a rule of law so that we don't have to have civil wars to solve our problems; I hope we don't forget that again.

 16. I would reconsider the use of 150 grains of powder pellets. Believe this or not, when it comes to muzzleloaders "more is not always better", try less. Shoot three shot groups, adjust, swab and shoot another group. Muzzleloaders shoot best with the right combo of powder and bullet. Shooting preformed pellets is letting someone else control your loading and shooting. You control it! I have been shooting muzzleloaders for the last 45 years. Everything from Hawken Rifles, Flintlock Rifles and even those new fangled Inlines. I occasionaly compete with my Flintlock Kentucky Rifles in which I custom built myself. I'll hunt with them when I'm in the mood and use the "Inlines" at other times. My two inlines and one of my "Kain'tucks" is .50 caliber. The "Kain'tuck" shoots a .490 round ball patched with a 0.15 patch greased with hawg fat combined with 80 (eighty) grains of 3F black powder. Deadly accurate at 100 yards. The two inlines are CVA's. One is the Apollo and it shoots 80 grains of 3F powder under a TC 240 grain .45 XTP bullet and ignited with a #11 cap. The next one is the CVA Wolf and it shoots 80 grains of 3F powder under the same bullet as described for the Apollo. It is ignited by 209 primers. Both these rifles are dead on at a hundred yards! When I'm target shooting, I will fire 3 shots, swab and repeat the process. In the rare instance that I would adjust the scope, it is done on a clean (three shot) barrel. I can go out right now, shoot it, it will be dead on. Put it away for a month and shoot it, it will still be dead on. Most of my co-workers and shooting friends have found success in going to "loose" powder and/or cutting down on their pellet numbers. Just something to think about. No offense, but I wouldn't shoot pellets if they were free. But a pound can of 3F is worth a hundred bucks in my book! Experiment with different powders and loads with different bullet weights. Find the magical combo! No matter how long you leave your muzzleloader inactive, it should shoot exactly as it did the last time you shot it. If it's not, review your loading technique. I hope this helps you out! Dave S

 18. I just pulled bullets from 100 rds of 45/70 ammo with 405g LRFP bullets using a RCBS Hammer type bullet puller. What a very handy tool for the reloader. Better still don't load up an abundance of ammoand then sale your rifle. I also learned some differences between brass manufacturers, The Federal (FC) tool about 8 wacks of mallet vs 4 wacks for other brass manufacturers. I'm assuming the FC brass walls are thicker. Everyone needs at least one bullet puller. I am going to buy another RCBS for back-up. What a labor saver.

 20. Favorite recipe for cold weather, good for watching football. Green Chili 2 pounds shredded smoked pork, turkey, or shredded brisket 3 medium onions coarse chopped Garlic as much or as little as you want 4 small cans chopped green chilles 1 jar Hernadez green chile salsa. 2 teaspoons roasted and ground cummin or more if you like 1 teaspoon ground corriander 1 teaspoon red chil powder 1/4 cup butter margarine or olive oil 1/4 cup flour put all ingrediants in a crock pot and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or in a dutch oven in the oven at 200 degrees. If it is not thick enough use the butter and flour to make a roux. This should be a good thick hearty stew serve with Fritos or tortillas. Topped with grated cheddar or sour cream. You can make it as hot or as mild as you like. You can use jalapenos instead of the green chilis.

 32. I'll play. I'll keep in theme with a recent popular topic. You either love my deep fried turkey or you haven't tried it yet. One turkey 16 pounds is ideal. One pint of creole butter and an injector Tony Chacheree's (SP) seasoning 3-4 gallons of peanut oil Make sure you give the turkey plenty of time to thaw. After it is thawed put the turkey in your stock pot and add water until the turkey is completely covered. Remove turkey and mark the water level with a sharpie or grease pencil. Empty the water and replace with peanut oil. Go ahead and fire up your burners it will take a good hour or so to get the oil up to cooking temp. In the meantime inject the turkey with the creole butter and pat all surfaces with Tony Chacheree's. When you think that you have used enough creole butter use a little more. Once the oil is up to about 400 degrees gently lower the turkey in and watch your thermometer closely you want to keep the oil temp as close to 350 as possible. Cook 3 1/2 minutes per pound of bird. After everyone is done telling you how awesome the turkey is hand them a bottle of Dawn and ask them to clean up your giant mess.

 34.
Comparing us to the above mentioned countries is hardly a valid argument, in my opinion. The US probably has more guns and gun owners than all of those countries combined.
Pass a few laws and post a few penalties, and when it comes down to it it won't matter how many gunowners this country currently has. How many fathers would risk ten years jail-time per firearm when he has a family to take care of? How many working class people would risk an ammo stockpile at $100 per round fine? It will get really hairy when times really get rough and you have people going hungry. Then all the government has to do is offer food vouchers or monetary payoffs to anyone that reports any fellow comrades holding out. Today you may be shooting buddies, but if your buddy's family is starving, he may just give the government a call and tell them about that one place you hid a box of ammo with a rifle. Of course (hopefully) this is extreme, but if the government was allowed to do it and we were to let them get away with it, it is exactly how it could go down. Today's generations have no idea what suffering is like. They have no idea what freedom means. Of course the founding fathers of our country wouldn't balk at a confiscation of arms; They would fight and die for it. They knew what it meant to live under suppression; They knew what it meant to die freely. Unfortunately, I think the 2nd amendment is something that a very large percentage would sacrifice if it were announced that no firearms owner would be allowed to buy the newest iPhone or something. Today's generation doesn't care about being free; They care about whether they have WiFi access and whether or not they have unlimited data on their cell plan. Or at least I fear...

She got an offer to trade a bumper pull, straight load for her bumper pull, straight load. The other person's was in far worse condition. I know they were seeing if we were going to bite but it was still pretty funny. I think some people who are on CL have lost touch with reality. A guy had a MAC11 pistol for sale on there. I called and he was asking $1,750. I asked if it was by cahnce a FA with paperwork. He said no it was semi auto. I asked why so much and he said because it said Cobray on it. I told him it was a $300-$500 gun and he said he would come down to $1,500. Dolomite

 40. I was also raised in Illinois only I’m not ashamed of it. Comparing all of Illinois to Chicago is like comparing all of Tennessee to Memphis. I work to help educate the people of Illinois when I am there and they are close to getting another shot at carry permits. Only I take a little different approach than you. As I tell them, when you are talking with a state legislator the minute the words “My 2nd Amendment rights” cross your lips; you don’t have any credibility. The 2nd amendment fight has been fought and for the time being it has been settled by the SCOTUS. You can argue the rulings all you want; but they are the law of the land. So, do you want to argue about rights that you don’t have, or do you want carry privileges? I have been arrested and jailed for no crime other than having a loaded gun in my car; so I am absolutely sure that I don’t have a 2nd amendment right to bear arms. So should I just give up? Of course not. Illinois doesn’t recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right, and neither does the state of Tennessee. But being able to carry a gun dosen’t require that they do. Being Democrat or Republican has little to do with what a person believes about gun rights/privileges. Every state has its problems. I am trying to help my friends and family be able to carry guns in Illinois. I would also like to ask my friends on this forum to stop with the bitter attacks on the citizens of the state of Illinois. They make you look terrible and hate filled. They are fighting the same fight the citizens of many states fought in order to be able to carry. Please support our brothers and sisters in arms in Illinois. I can assure you that it is a fight between the good people downstate and the thugs in Chicago that don’t want to get shot, or have their juvenile delinquent kids they raised, killed by armed citizens that refuse to be victims. I love the state of Illinois and I hope to return there when I retire; it is home. I have been in Tennessee for 14 years and have a few more to go. I am a law abiding citizen and try to help my community in any way I can. I served my country, have two honorable discharges, served my community as a Police Officer and am proud to call myself an American and a Patriot. I would never turn my back on an American in need no matter what state they live in.

 46. I wonder if the confiscation would affect her privately owned guns, she is after all a California CCW holder... Somehow I doubt it, after all being a highly paid public servant her life is clearly more important than the lives of the people she's paid to represent. The no grandfather clause IMO is there as a bargaining tool. By relaxing on that principal she can show an easy sign of "compromise" to help gun owners "get what they want" while she takes all that she can get. She's a tool.

 47. Best to take her to a range where you can rent several different, including a revolver. My daughter has an SP101 .357 which she shoots .38's only. She loves the gun.

 48. Why is the Sport so great? I will just give you a quick run down of the Sport and why it is such a great gun. 1. The barrel is a 5R rifled barrel. 5R barrels are known for their accuracy regardless of caliber. For whatever reason they just shoot and shoot well. It also increases the velocity by virtue of how the rifling is laid out. 2. The barrel is Melonite treated. Melonite treatments are far better than any chrome lining as far as hardness and durability. It also offers an exception amount of corrosion resistance. It is more than just a surface coating like chrome, it actually treats the metal and goes subsurface. 3. The bolt is properly heat treated. This is very important for the long term durability of the firearm. It ensures the headspace will remain in spec longer than those bolts that are not heat treated properly. Poorly heat treated bolts will either wear prematurely or break from being too brittle. 4. It has a barrel twist rate of 8 This twist rate allows you to fire the heaviest bullets that can be fed from a magazine, up to 80 grains. And because it isn't a 7 twist (like most others out there) you can also fire the lightweight varmint style bullets without fear of the jackets seperating. 5. It comes ready to fire. It comes with a Magpul rear sight while most competitors, even those 100's of dollars more expensive, do not. The sights have been proven for several years now both by those in harms way as well as the weekend shooter. It also includes a Magpul magazine which has also been proven for seveal years now. 6. It is built to the same specs as all other AR's This means you can upgrade and swap parts to build a gun that suits your wants or needs. And because it is an AR most of the work can be done by the owner and if it is a milspec part it WILL fit. 7. The price In reality if any other maker were to offer the same features as the Sport has they would be asking 100's of dollars more. The 5R barrel and Melonite treatment were once only offered on high end guns. And included in the price is a warranty that is among the best in the industry. You cannot go wrong with the M&P Sport and they are hard to find because they are such a great gun. Dolomite
