  9. I think they guard it in order to hold at bay an individual's greatist fear: being forgotten. Every life counts and the sacrifices made COUNT. No one wants to fade away and be forgotten. I have lost loved ones and it seems like the world will never go on without them, yet somehow it does. So I guess everyone can fade eventually, but in those instances the family remembers. The unknown solider does not even have a name. The guarding of the tomb insures that despite not having a name, they will not be forgotten.

  10. On a privately owned forum? In that sense FB is no different than TGO. You're welcome to use it at the pleasure of the owners. They can censor you or boot you at any time and you really have no recourse, nor should you.

  11. Doesn’t matter what we say, you will be the one responsible for your outcome. Use common sense and keep the gun politics out of it (statements about rights, what other people think, self-appointed messiah of forcing guns on people, or other silliness that has nothing to do with the issue at hand) and the choice will be pretty clear.

  13. Agreed. Ultimately it is your choice. I believe there is a time and place for both, however, 99% of the time I CC. I don't care for all the extra attention when I OC.

  16. Yep, if you watch that video above he starts with a story about a guy getting busted with a truckload of cocaine and says "I believe people should be able to put whatever they want in their bodies but I took an oath to uphold the law and the says he cant". He is completely fair and objective even in his opinions on Fox, never seems to let his own personal feelings or ideas influence the issue at hand.

  24. Here's an old trick to see if you're trigger finger is working right, or you're anticipating recoil. Turn your head and let someone load your revolver... with a mix of live and empty shells in any order... you won't know if it's going to fire or not... then see if the gun moves when you pull the trigger on an empty round... Many don't know they're "pulling off", until they see it!

  28. Absolutely correct.Freedom of speech does not guarantee one a platform from which to speak nor an audience to hear you. I'll admit, I find Facebook's actions distasteful but they have a right to run their site anyway they wish. That said, I've posted this link on MY Facebook page along with some appropriate comments and encouraged all my friends to do the same. Maybe by the time all is said and done this will be posted by so many FB members that FB will have no choice but to leave it alone.

  34. A pirate walked into a bar, and the bartender said, "Hey, I haven't seen you in awhile. What happened? You look terrible. "What do you mean?" said the pirate, "I feel fine." "What about the wooden leg? You didn't have that before." "Well," said the pirate, "We were in a battle, and I got hit with a cannon ball, but I'm fine now." The bartender replied, "Well, OK, but what about that hook? What happened to your hand?" The pirate explained, "We were in another battle. I boarded a ship and got into a sword fight. My hand was cut off. I got fitted with a hook but I'm fine, really." "What about that eye patch?" "Oh," said the pirate, "One day we were at sea, and a flock of birds flew over. I looked up, and one of them s**t in my eye." "You're kidding," said the bartender. "You couldn't lose an eye just from bird s**t." "It was my first day with the hook."

  39. I see schools producing the same thing as always... a bunch of everything from engineers and scientists to liberal journalists, to lawyers to pastors to doctors. There is a lot of nonsense in school but plenty of folks come out qualified to do amazing things. I see good and bad parents, same as always. I find welfare in the bible, where the field owners left some for the poor to gather, or the "give to whoever asks" verse. And perhaps we are less moral than in the 1920s, but somehow I doubt it. People were painting some decent porn on the sides of the "bath" houses before england was invaded by rome. Nothing ever changes. Tech does, and the flow of information about private life (and how odd people really ARE) makes things public that probably should not be, but actual human behavior has not changed since the dawn of time. People have always raped and robbed, cheated and lied, had strange sex lives, and more. You can find some real eye openers in the bible on all those... the prehistoric folks did all this and it got written down. At no time has any society "lived morally". The puritans tried and all they managed was mass murder of "witches" and "sinners". It is not possible for humans to "live morally" --- whether that is the cause of our problems, I cannot say, but it is not possible and things on THAT scale have never changed.

  40. I actually agree 100% with you strickj! One thing I learned on the farm is that animals are animals first and foremost. As much as we love them and they are our friends they are still animals and their instincts will override whatever emotional attachment you have for them if certain circumstances present themselves.

  41. Oh no. These would get him expelled for bringing a weapon to school. He'd better not draw any pictures of guns to go with the printed ammo. Then it's probably a GFSZA violation.

  46. I was going to early vote, but my 7 year old son asked me if he could vote too. I told him no, and he then said he wanted to go with me to vote. This was too cool of a request, so I am going to vote on Tuesday November 6th and I am going to take him to the booth to show him how to vote! I could have still taken him to early vote, but I want him to see the process on the day of the national vote.

  48. Not just musketsand flintlocks i've seen in this show. but if you watched the episode where we meet the General Monroe at his camp, notice his personal guard with HK Automatic rifles. Apparently some haven't been paying as close attention to the show. Ilike it, it's a much better alternative to watching one of these over-rated boring reality shows. Now getting stoked for the 3rd season of The Walking Dead. Unfortunately i don't have AMC, guess i'll have to get my dad to DVR it.

  49. I think it is a pretty safe investment in that if it does become supervalued, you have what you need. If nothing ever happens, you still have the money you put into it.
