Make sure you are not double dipping. For an example I pay $2 every six months for road side harzard with State Farm. I had to use it about a year ago, paid 100% of the costs. I believe this is the same thing, not sure though.2 points

Under which anti-gun politician do you see that taking place, though? The one who is currently in office or the one who actually signed sweeping anti-gun legislation into effect in his state as governor? Oh, yeah, I forgot - he has explained all that, put our fears at rest and promised that he doesn't plan to do any such thing as president. We can all rest assured because politicians never lie and their words are a much more accurate indicator of their intentions than their past deeds. My thinking is that neither is a friend of gun owners. I don't think either will be 'coming for' guns we already own (yet) but I do believe it to be possible that either of them will make getting new ones (and the ammo to go with them) more difficult. If Romney is elected, I expect a lot of those folks who don't 'perceive' a threat to gun ownership to get blindsided. The best plan is probably to 'stock up' as much as is practical regardless of the results in November. Now, I'm not talking about burying crates of ARs and pallet loads of ammo in the back yard or anything but, for myself, I want a decent 'buffer' of ammo and/or reloading components to help feed my shooting habit for the next, few years if necessary.2 points

If that guy had the expectation that I should be the one paying for his contraception, then yes. I was making a joke over the reaction over Rush's comments. I could care less how many dudes are knocking out her snatch. She is a jizz guzzling thunderslut because she claims she is "entitled" to contraception. She ain't entitled to jack. If she want to sling her snooch she can pay to keep from getting pregnant. I paid for my rubbers when I was in school. What makes her so damn special?2 points

People now do not want to be held responsible for their careless decisions. They dont want to look at the long term of thier choices just what feels good at the moment. In the words of Si "Hey" if you wanna have sex and produce offspring be ready to raise them and not ask me too. I have my own children that I'm raising.2 points

It seems the kookyness never goes away it just changes sides. I'd have to say just about every whack job theory I've heard about Obama canceling elections, declaring himself dictator and rounding up disarmed citizens to herd into FEMA camps I've heard at one point and time about Bush as well. The faces have changed but the theory's are the same load of crap regardless. What really cracks me up is that in both cases there are so many legitimate issues that I just can't understand why someone would resort to grasping at straws. Especially stupid straws that make you sound so crazy, that intelligent people begin to dismiss anything you say out of hand. Oh well, like I said I haven't heard anything original yet out of either party, I'm sure it's even more obvious to some of you guys that have been paying attention decades longer than me.2 points

That voter i.d. crap really eats at me. Even if someone were using voter i.d. as a means of suppression, how difficult would it have been to get a freaking state issued photo i.d. over the last four years. Even If the cost were $100, the lazy, irresponsible bastards have had four years to save $100. There is no excuse! Some things are just too stupid.2 points

As a few of you know I'm addicted to Berettas & have been on the lookout for an Inox (stainless) model Beretta 92FS in my price range for years without any luck. I spotted this one a few days ago and had to grab it! She's a beauty & in new condition with all stainless controls & included the factory hard case, two 15 round mags, and a set of walnut grips with Beretta emblems. I took the walnut grips off and replaced them with a set of aluminum grips, but may put them on another pistol.1 point

Yours is an interesting story and I'm sure it's true. That said I've been in Industrial sales since 1986 calling all all sorts of businesses. Most businesses today don't allow their own employees to bring a gun onto company property, so they would be even less tolerant of me a vendor carrying on their premises. I've got plenty of customers that I have fished with and some I have hunted with. They have guns just as I do but because I want to maintain our business relationship and I don't want to get them in trouble either, I don't carry on their premises. You might say It's kind of a respect thing. Respect of the customer and respect of the law. If a company has a policy which forbids weapons on their premises and I bring one anyway, I am liable to lose my weapon and my carry permit. We fought too long in this state to get our carry permits for me to put mine in peril.1 point

When I had a similiar incident, I never called State Farm, I used the tow service of my choosing, not the one that had the low bid to earn AAA approval, and then turned my expenses in to State Farm, and received a check for the full amount on the spot at the local office. However, use your judgment, gave my opinion as requested.1 point

I think Romney did what he needed to do in the debates collectively. He appeared credible and Presidential. In that regard, the first debate probably mattered more than the other two combined.1 point

I am. It's worth paying for the highest service due to the towing service you get. Some of the lesser plans only get you a few mile tow and then it's $5 a mile after that. The locksmith service is nice. So are the rental car discounts. It's good insurance.1 point

I have the AAA super duper platinum plan or whatever ($150 yr for the family) and it's well worth it to me. If I'm tied up they will come and fix a flat for the wife and it also provides up to 200 miles towing and lock out service. I have four SUVs and those tires get mighty heavy. Also, I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes for one of their guys to arrive. The plans that I have had thru my insurance plans always cost you extra money. I pay nothing extra with AAA. I don't even have to sign anything when they finish. They thank me and leave. Good service.1 point

if he bans guns and demands they be turned in at least 90% of them will be handed over. Laugh all you want. And this is not an anti Obozo rant. King Geo. II would have done the same thing.1 point

If it does well with the MatchKings, it will likely do equally as well with the equivalent weight GameKings. I shoot a fair number of both out of my 700LTR. Why take the chance? Load for a bullet you know is going to perform.1 point

Or if you're lucky, you might be able to find a slightly used, older model Scout for about $100 or so. I got one that way but later swapped it for something else. As I said earlier though, you most likely don't need the top of the line tacticool light if you just plan on shooting coyotes, just an LED Surefire and light clamp should be fine.1 point

I would/will if the most prominent act they are committing is screwing every guy that wants in their pants. I don't care what their political beliefs are. Political beliefs NOT aside, I would be harsher over a "conservative" gal doing that because 'she should know better.' I call a spade a spade and a slut a slut.1 point

If you stayed up for Talking Dead, you may have seen the extended trailer for next week. Merle, in some way, appears next week. I couldn't tell if it was at the prison or in town, or a chuppachabra, however. Well I could, but I don't want to spoil too much =P1 point

I think it is hilarious that a harpy like Sandra Fluke is a great spokesperson for the demorat crowd. She embodies everything that most people are not; and that even the kindest of us despise. I hope she keeps helpin these clowns. I say, "....Keep up the good work Sandra!!!...."! leroy1 point

Congrats on the SR9C. A word of advice. Don't let wife or girlfriend shoot it. I let my wife try mind. She liked it so you know the rest of the story. I purchased another one. Let my daughter try it. She liked it. I am now on my third SR9C. Guess you can just call us a three Ruger family.1 point

You don’t automatically get arrested for firing a “warning shotâ€. Just because many departments have policy’s against them doesn’t mean you automatically get arrested for it. If you are justified, you are fine. If I was in an area where I could do so, and had time, I wouldn’t hesitate to fire a shot into the ground in front of an attacking dog. If I have to discharge a firearm I’m staying where I am and calling the Police anyway; if they want to charge me; so be it.1 point

Well put it this way, I've spent waaaaaay more time asleep in my titan than I'd like to admit to. I'm primarily a longbow hunter & I find the bar gets in my way, so i switched to a lone wolf hand climber, but from the opening day of M/L season thru rifle season, the summit is the placed to be. I can climb very quickly & quietly & you've got to be terminally retarded to be able to have an accident in it. Other then the driver's seat of my truck, it's the most comfortable seat i own.1 point

Of course. All .38's suck.......if their not being shot by me. One of my first times shooting with my dad was with .38 loads out of a Colt Python my Uncle had. They figured at 8yrs old I had graduated to .357 loads. They didn't say a word, just loaded the .357 rounds instead of the .38's I had been shootin. I was didn't have a good grip so my forehead ended up with the inprint of the hammer and the rear site blade scalped me on my hair line. Still have the scar.....1 point

In a disparity of force situation involving threats to one's personal safety and/or survival, deadly force is justified. I carry my weapon because I fully intend to go home to my family each and every day.1 point

Trick is to just plant enough they can't eat it all. That's advice from previous laziest gardener in TN. Weeding is for obsessive compulsive types too, IMNSHO. Our birds of prey can really adapt. I was on a walk and watched for a bit a huge redtail sitting on top of light stanchion on one of busiest roads in Chattanooga a few months ago. Was eating a mouse or something he'd caught. - OS1 point

This I will not do. I will look at each candidate and vote for the one that best represents my beliefs. No party should ever take my vote for granted. I have been known to vote for a democrat or two and I did not vote for either John McCain or Obama in the last election. Rather for Bob Barr, who was on the Libertarian ticket. I will vote for Mitt this time, because I think it's very important to maintain a conservative Supreme Court. Otherwise I don:t really care for him. And the only election I would vote for Feinstein in, would be in the election to kiss my butt. Same goes for Pelosi, and Rush Limbaugh.1 point

Wrong. They're saying Romney is not conservative enough. They're not saying he's a socialist or communist. To go a bit further, they're saying he is a big government republican. He is not in to reducing social programs. He will actually grow them and try to make them financially stable. Most folks who are real conservatives and libertarians are sick of the increasing size of the federal government and want it trimmed down. That is less taxes and less spending after the US debt has been brought back under control. We might get closer to a balanced budget and reduced US Debt, but we won't see the size and scope of the Federal government reduced under Romney. I voted Ron Paul in the Primary. I have no other choice now but to vote Romney to remove Obama since there is no 3rd party that I believe can win. I just wish folks would wake up and see the path we're on and that if we don't get a real conservative or libertarian in soon, this country is going to grow in to another big bloated oppressive top down government like many of the other countries already have.1 point

No sir, I would never think that. There is a lot of knowledge on TGO. I frequently gain invaluable information in these threads. I enjoy the debates and even the differing opinions. What I can't stand are the daily rants by Uncle Fester when he is off his meds. That does not work for me and I think that grown men should be ashamed of behaving in that manner. Also, there is nothing wrong with batsh#t crazy as long as it's in moderation. It should'nt be a lifestyle.1 point

Robert, I concur completely. I honestly can't tell you what draws me to the 1911 other than nostalgia and just the feel of one in my hand. My brain tells me there are far better choices for a defensive handgun, and therefore every day I carry one of those far better choices instead of a 1911. However my heart tells me that the 1911 has history... a pedigree... and is as American as baseball and apple pie, so I constantly lust for others to add to my collection. It's not like I'd carry another even if I buy it, but something draws me back to them time and time again. Heavy, short on capacity, and not necessarily the most tolerant of neglect. A more elegant weapon for a more civilized age, perhaps. Love me some 1911's.1 point
