O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant the help of your power, that her sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.2 points

John G. Is 63 years old and owns a small business. He's a life-long Republican and sees his dream of retiring next year has all but evaporated. With the stock market crashing and new taxes coming his way, John assumes now that he will work to his dying day. John has a granddaughter. Ashley is a recent college grad. She drives a flashy hybrid car, wears all the latest fashions, and loves to go out to nightclubs and restaurants. Ashley campaigned hard for Barack Obama. After the election she made sure her grandfather (and all other Republican family members) received a big I told-you-so earful on how the world is going to be a much better place now that her party is taking over. Having lost both roommates, Ashley recently ran short of cash and cannot pay the rent (again) on her 3 bedroom townhouse... Like she has done many times in the past, she e-mailed her grandfather asking for some financial help. Here is his reply: Sweetheart, I received your request for assistance. Ashley, you know I love you dearly and I'm sympathetic to your financial plight. Unfortunately, times have changed. With the election of President Obama, your grandmother and I have had to set forth a bold new economic plan of our own...."The Ashley Economic Empowerment Plan." Let me explain. Your grandmother and I are life-long, wage-earning tax payers. We have lived a comfortable life, as you know, but we have never had the fancier things like European vacations, luxury cars, etc... We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring soon. But the plan has changed. Your president is raising our personal and business taxes significantly. He says it is so he can give our hard earned money to other people... Do you know what this means, Ashley? It means less for us, and we must cut back on many business and personal expenses. You know the wonderful receptionist who worked in my office for more than 23 years? The one who always gave you candy when you came over to visit? I had to let her go last week. I can't afford to pay her salary and all of the government mandated taxes that go with having employees.... Your grandmother will now work 4 days a week to answer phones, take orders and handle the books. We will be closed on Fridays and will lose even more income. I'm also very sorry to report that your cousin Frank will no longer be working summers in the warehouse. I called him at school this morning. He already knows about it and he's upset because he will have to give up skydiving and his yearly trip to Greenland to survey the polar bears. That's just the business side of things. Some personal economic effects of Obama's new taxation policies include none other than you. You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing, clothing, gifts, etc., etc. But by your vote, you have chosen to help others -- not at your expense -- but at our expense. If you need money now sweetheart, I recommend you call 202-456-1111 202-456-1111 202-456-1111 202-456-1111 . That is the direct phone number for the White House. You can also contact the White House here: http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/%C2%A0;... You yourself told me how foolish it is to vote Republican... You said Mr. Obama is going to be the People's President, and is going to help every American live a better life. Based on everything you've told me, along with all the promises we heard during the campaign, I'm sure Mr. Obama will be happy to transfer some stimulus money into your bank account. Have him call me for the account number which I memorized years ago. Perhaps you can now understand what I've been saying all my life: Those who vote for a president should consider the impact on the nation as a whole, and not be just concerned with what they can get for themselves. What Obama supporters don't seem to realize is all of the money he is redistributing to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying Americans (the so-called "less fortunate") comes from tax-paying families. Remember how you told me, "Only the richest of the rich will be affected"? Well guess what, honey? Because we own a business, your grandmother and I are now considered to be the richest of the rich. On paper, it might look that way, but in the real world, we are far from it.. As you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the burden so all of America can prosper... You understand what that means, right? It means that raising taxes on productive people results in them having less money; less money for everything, including granddaughters. I'm sorry, Ashley, but the well has run dry. The free lunches are over... I have no money to give you now. So, congratulations on your choice for "change." For future reference, I encourage you to try and add up the total value of the gifts and cash you have received from us, just since you went off to college, and compare it to what you expect to get from Mr. Obama over the next 4 (or 8) years. I have not kept track of it, Ashley. It has all truly been the gift of our hearts. Remember, we love you dearly.... but from now on you'll need to call the number mentioned above. Your "Savior" has the money we would have given to you. Just try and get it from him. Good luck, sweetheart. Love, Grandpa P. S. This tells the whole story, why Bush was so bad at the end of his term. Don ' t just skim over this, it ' s not long, but read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out! The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 20 09 , it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress. The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995. For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush ' s Fault", think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time: The DOW Jones closed at $12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6% George Bush ' s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH! Remember the day... January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES! Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy. And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA! And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress So when someone tries to blame Bush.. REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 20 09 as well as 2010 & 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For 20 09 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 20 09 budgets. And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 20 09 . If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th." "Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack Obama does with mine.†Dave S2 points

You really think at age 77 and being on the force for 40 years he was aiming to garner a " hero " status? Or are you talking about the second case they mentioned in the article? When husband was overseas and I was alone with my teenage son.. he came home one night a bit late and I had already fallen asleep.. He has the really bad habbit to be really quit and used to come to my bedroom and check if I was sleeping.Sometimes I would be still awake and we talk about the day.. Anyway.. he came home one nite and I woke up when he was standing in the doorway.. not saying a word..Guess the first thing I did ? I grabbed my pistol.. He said HI MOM and I about had a heartattack. I told him to NEVER DO THAT AGAIN.. from now on be loud or call right before you walk in the door.. Scary.. very scary.. it happends very fast...and you can never take it back...2 points

Will not work. MaryAnne was hot. I saw a picture of her, somewhere, that was taken years after the series ended. Even older, the actress was still pretty cute. On the show, MaryAnne was the sweet, little 'guilty' pleasure - naive and innocent in a way but still a hottie that any red-blooded guy would want to sneak off behind a stand of palm trees with. The thought of Hillary in that role...I think I might be sick.2 points

Biden is doing well --- he may be lying and misleading but he is aggressive and has not been sticking his foot in his mouth. He even had a couple of good points --- I am 100% behind pulling out and letting the countries deal with their own problems. I would do it today, not in 2 years either. We simply cannot afford military spending abroad to help our enemies to run their countries. Ryan blew several good chances. Right away he missed his chance to mention that Biden was against the strike on ossama. He missed his chance to give details on 3 different topics, making him look like he did not know or, worse. At best, its a draw. But to the uninformed voter watching this mess, Biden's "im louder so im right" and general agressive attitude is making him look like he knows what he is talking about better.1 point

No it does not. It implies no such thing. People make mistakes? Yeah, stupid people make the mistake of drinking and driving. There's no mystery to alcohol. It's no surprise what happens when you consume it. There's no ignorance of its effect amongst human beings. If you're stupid enough to and reckless enough to endanger other peoples lives by driving drunk, personally Id like to see them be charged with attempted murder and any fatality from a crash should carry charges of premeditated murder. Thinking its "just another mistake" that people make is what's wrong with people in this country. No one wants to take responsibility for their actions. It's pathetic. I drink like a fish.....AND I STAY HOME WHEN I DO. Period. No exceptions.1 point

Ryan's bringing his A game. Biden just called him a liar. No less than 5 minutes in. There was a time when that wouldn't have been tolerated, but at least we know what their strategy is going to be.1 point

I don't know but it SHOULD be that you can't have any period. A DUI is a sign of extremely poor judgment. Do you really want someone like that toting a gun around? I sure as heck don't.1 point

I am not sure I want it to be this way either..Some people work a whole lot harder than others.. Some people do not want to work at all and think they should have the same as others... And some people take advantage of the fact that people are willing to give to just flaunder it away for drugs and such.. Organizations that help people in destitute seem to have their own agenda most of the time and much of the needed funds trickle down next to nothing by the time it reaches the people who need it most..1 point

Agreed. However...city slickers ain't gonna be walking through the gated community subdivision shooting up the neighbors dog or cat for food, or even squirrels. Highly unlikely that there will be much actual "game" in the inner city or even the suburbs. Country folk...different story altogether. City slickers will give up their guns for food. Country folk will NEVER give up their guns PERIOD.1 point

I'd like to encourage everyone participating to really be creative. Obviously it doesn't matter what everyone receives, be thankful and glad in it. BUT, when it comes to our hobby, $25 is a pretty limited fund, but that's also the fun of it. The challenge. The whole idea of gift giving isn't about "Mine's bigger than yours" but it could be a fun challenge amongst us as friends to see who can do the best IN THE $25 limit. I mean, you could buy a Glock magazine or a brick of .22's....BORING!!! Give it some thought people. My brain's been working on it. I have a few ideas. THere's some seriously creative people here. I'm interested in seeing what some of ya'll come up with for $25.1 point

Gotta say I like number 1 the best. You can see the detail in and your lighting isn't bad. The second you seem to lose some detail around the edges. Three isn't bad, but not what I personally like. Keep up the good work. (I hope I didn't come across as rude.)1 point

I think Romney will win in a landslide ALA Reagan vs Carter. The polls are lying (...for the most part...), but ya notice they are slowly comming around to the "real forecast". Neither the pollsters (...who actually get paid for asking the right questions the right way....) and the newspaper pundits (....who love nobama, but have to keep some smidgen of truth in their reporting....) can afford to shill for nobama anymore. RE: voter fraud. There will be voter fraud wherever it works (...think the deep blue inner cities here....). I dont think it will mean anything this round; because i believe the turnout for this election will be big. Ya cant steal an election unless the vote is lose. I firmly believe this election is Romney's to loose. Heres hopin. leroy1 point

AK's are accurate, end of story. It is the ammo that makes them inaccurate. The same thing can be said about AR's as well. Take thd average AK and the average AR. Feed them both Tula and Wolf. The results are going to surprise you. I know I would be tickled to have 223 Tula shoot under 4" at 100 yards. Accuracy, regardless of weapon type, is all about what you feed them. I have seen AK's that would hit man sized steel targets 7 out of 10 times at 350 yards. They where being feed ammo that had the correct sized bullets. And BTW, every commercial 7.62x39 ammo I have measured the bullet on has been .308" and not .311" like it should be. This is why AK's over here shoot so bad. Buy some correct surplus ammo and they are as accurate as most AR's shooting our "surplus" ammo. Dolomite1 point

A society like what? One with balls and a spine. An attitude of "I will fight my enemies to the death, I will defend my family and loved ones with my life"? A society that hasn't been neutered by political correctness and not only accept but embrace survival of the fittest. To secure the peace, you must prepare for war. Apathy is death. Raise a family with love and understanding but defend them with a fist of iron and a heart of stone??? I could go on but I won't. It's beautiful to me. Unlike the spineless castrated cowardly pissants being perpetuated [not by us here at TGO] in this once great country.1 point

Apology accepted. I know we have kicked members here for calling us hillbilly white trash which is offensive in the same way euro trash is offensive to some of our other members. Think about this. Those members from abroad thought enough of the United States to come here. And then when they were looking for a great place to live they settled in Tennessee because they found out what we all already know. Then when they were looking for an online community to join they came here. So it took a lot of courage and hardships to get to even become a member here. The last thing we want to do is insult those who thought enough of us that they came and joined our community. Dolomite1 point
