The Ten Commandments Of Owning A Pet September 14, 2012 | No Comments » | Topics: Animals, Life 1. My life is likely to last ten to fifteen years. Any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that before you acquire me. 2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. 3. Place your trust in me. Remember that before you acquire me. 4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, and your entertainment. I only have you. 5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don’t understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget. 6. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that can easily crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you. 7. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I don’t understand what you ask of me or perhaps I am not feeling well, not getting the right food, been out in the sun too long, or my heart is getting old and weak. 8. Take care of me when I get old, you too will grow old. 9. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say " I can’t bear to watch," or "let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier if you are there. 10. Remember, no matter what, that I love you. Unconditionally. Â2 points

Thanks for coming down Rickey. I enjoy watching you shoot. Scores are done. It was close but Catseye wins by a whisker.1 point

We had a boxer growing up. I buried him on my 16th b/day. I still hurt and I'm 35 now. Honestly, I hate dogs. They get ahold of you. You have no choice but to love them. They love you, don't gripe or complain. They don't mind if you gain a little weight. They don't mind if you fart. They don't mind if no one else in this godforsaken world loves you or not. They love you and with the exception of Jesus Christ, there's not another organism to ever exist on this planet that understand unconditional love anymore than they do. They give you years of faithful service and companionship......then they leave you. Biggest religious argument I ever had with my family was over the dog. I grew up in a strict religious household and their contention was that animals didn't go to heaven because they had no soul. If my dog isn't there, I don't wanna go either. It wouldn't be heaven if he wasn't there. I miss the old butt licker. I think he might have been a marine in a past life. He sure lived and died by the creed Semper Fidelis.1 point

We could use her in Memphis. I'd swear that our officers are racing on the south leg of I240 most nights.1 point

If only our pets could live as long as we do. The worst part of having a pet is losing them.1 point

"Americans anywhere can sell anything and everything to spport president Obama." I'm selling drugs. When they try to arrest me, I'm going to say I'm doing it for Obama.1 point

Yeah, the only difference between in documenting a shipment from a private seller is that in the log book you write the seller's name an address from the copy of their ID that they send with the gun instead of writing the business name and address from the copy of the FFL that is sent with the gun.

The guy at the gun store was just making stuff p to justify a store policy.1 point

Your first part I agree with, and I did run my mouth a little bit. For that I apologize. The thread seemed to take a turn (in my view) of people saying they would pretty much kill, no questions asked. That is what caused me to rant a bit.Regarding your last point; I am aware not everyone values life the way I see it nor do they have my particular set of morals.1 point

and it shows how completely out of touch they all are. I make slightly less than 250K, I fully expect my taxes to go up. Both will have plenty of mumbo jumbo explaining to me why I did not get a tax increase though my taxes will rise. Seriously, 250,000 dollars is middle class? If I made that kind of cake I would feel like the richest man in town. They are both f'ing idiots, I think I will just opt out.1 point

That has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with a consistently leftist government elected in those cities and states. The fact that there are a lot of minorities there means nothing. The same could be said of many other cities with a large population of black Americans: Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham, Jacksonville and so on. All these cities allow their citizens to carry a firearm if they meet the legal requirements. The fact is, in the areas you speak of the government doesn't want ANY of its citizens to be armed, regardless of skin color. The only part I agree on is that the elitists are the only ones allowed to carry a firearm, or have an armed personal security detail. Sorry, I won't support any cause that continues to support the myth that because I'm white I receive some sort of preferential treatment. I've worked hard to get to where I am, and it was without help from anyone.1 point

Mine too. $20 + 10 TICS. They make it quite painless, except for the 30 clams of course. - OS1 point

Bill's Outpost is my favorite gun shop in the area. It's in Alcoa. Great service, friendly people, good selection. I'll personally drive past all of the Knoxville gun shops to get there. If you want to have something built, Predator Customs is fantastic. If you happen to be military or LEO Craig's Firearms in Seymour has the best prices around on Glocks.1 point

Theft of property is bad. I'm pretty sure we can all agree on that. But to take the life of another person is a monumental decision. In my opinion, simple theft is not a justification for killing. Stuff is replaceable and ultimately irrelevant. The only thing that matters is life, because in the end, that is all you truly have. If you take someone's life, you take away their ability to be reformed, to change their ways, seek forgiveness, and become useful and productive members of society. Stealing is selfish, lazy, and cowardice. Killing someone over a truck is stupid. That's what police, courts, and insurance are for.1 point

Probably not until someone gets charged for carrying past a sign like you describe and then challenge it in court. Until then, I wouldn't sweat it. It hasn't happened yet as far as anyone knows and probably won't. I think the law itself is BS, but I don't think it carries any weight. If it did people would be getting charged every day.1 point
