  1. You missed my point completely. I'll sum it up with this: I live in a world where carrying an AK around in public is an abnormal event, and is consistent with other events which resulted in mass shootings. This is why people call police and why police react the way they do. You may disagree with this, but it doesn't change reality, and it won't. The reason it won't is because this will never be a normal thing, someone just walking around a park with an AK. This is because only attention whore douchebags participate in that behavior. So, because of this, only .0000000001% of the population is affected by police and citizens reacting in this manner. This is reality. I live there and will continue to live there. If you don't like it, then don't carry around a short barreled rifle and try to pretend that it's normal.

  3. Middle Tn usually escapes the worse of any recession due to location and diverse business in the area. Because of this people from all over the country are moving here, which in turns stimulates (there's that word) the economy, i.e. their need for housing and all the affiliated industries that go with it, Look at the growth Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Franklin etc.. So it is no surprise that we in this area could very well see increases in business actives but that doesn't mean other areas of the country are.

  4. To read some folks, tomorrow the US will look like Somolia. The reality is most of us understand economics at an extremely macro level at best, and I'm not certain even the most educated of economists can see en economy as large and complex as the United States' other than very generally... That said, it's not nearly as bad as the repubs would have you believe, nor nearly as good as the dems would have you believe.

  5. I wouldn't mind the LCR in .22LR. The SP101 comes in .22LR as well. IMO Ruger has the widest selection of reliable and rugged handguns on the market today.

  6. They both (the obama and romney) want to start with a ban on semi automatic rifles and continue from there, old news. The R platform can say they want to legalize bazookas, nukes, and guncopters for public fun and sport, and it would not change that fact.

  9. Got to have the license. We can't forget Uncle Sam and Aunty Clinton. But all disgust aside, If I were to sell reloaded ammo, along with the proper licenses, I'd have to have a couple of million in liability insurance. With all that cost in the budget, you'd have to load millions of rounds a year to pay for overhead.

  10. How do you reload to much ammo? You will shoot it sooner or later.lol

  11. And once again I'll pose this question, is it illegal to strap road flares to my chest and walk around? Is it illegal to walk down the street with a broadsword? Is it illegal to walk down the street in a full nude colored body suit? Is it illegal to walk through a park and approach kids with offers of free candy? I would say that all the things above are legal, but will attract attention of law enforcement and potentially get you detained. The law is not the problem. The police are not the problem. The problem is one useless turd making an issue where no issue exists.

  12. As an airline pilot, I deal with the checkpoints every time I go to work. I'm not really sure what the answer is to true airline security... profiling rather than political correctness might be a start. I'm not going to mention any details about the current process, except to say it's a pain.

  13. Well I will give them the benefit of the doubt in regards to deterrence factor. The enemy has had to adapt their plans significantly to get around the TSA. However, they don't seem to be able to stay inside the enemy's decision cycle, as each kneejerk policy they've come up with is a result of their weakness being exploited: We have to take our shoes off because someone got explosives on a plane in the sole of their shoe; we can't take liquids through security because of the narrowly foiled plot out of GB; we have body scanners because of the underwear bomber. So, the TSA didn't really stop any of these folks. The best security we've had against terrorist attacks since 9/11 is the fact that the enemy is incredibly incompetent. So, while the TSA serves as a deterrent, it is not effective in stopping the enemy. The solve to this would be putting greater numbers of Air Marshals on flights and simply going back to the pre-9/11 security measures in the terminal.

  14. There is now a limitless supply of people willing to suicide themselves to create mass casualties by using a plane as a guided missile. Pretty effective too when you consider 9/11. I don't think that one event justifies the TSA though. There are plenty of passive measures that have been taken to answer the mail on our security weaknesses. More Air Marshals would essentially end the need for any security screening at all (in my opinion). It would be cheaper to have an Air Marshal on every single US flight than have the TSA. What is more secure than the knowledge that there is an armed guard on the plane, but you don't know who it is? Beyond that, pilots have better training now that they know the enemy's most dangerous course of action, and cockpit doors are unbreachable. Sure, someone could sneak a knife on a plane and stab some folks, but I can get on a bus or train and do the same thing. If there is no access to the cockpit what is the difference? Just silly, kneejerk reaction to fear is what birthed the TSA, and now there is no way to get rid of it, ever.

  15. Yup! And what's more funny about this is Van Jones checking the interviewer before he speaks. I bet he has to take a pop quiz of outlets not to speak to before every public outing because he is so tired of his Commie plans being exposed. I have, on my bookshelf next to all the radical propaganda I've collected, the Van Jones Storm manual. Yes, his commie manual Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement. Storm pdf: http://media.glennbe...RMSummation.pdf More on Van Jones: http://www.discovert....asp?indid=2406 and http://keywiki.org/index.php/Van_Jones A large majority of the Democrats leading the sheeple are not you're mother or fathers era Dems. They're full blown Socialists and Communists hiding in the democratic party using the Saul Alinksy tactics to progress their agenda. If you really study these politicians and their organizations, you can find who are members of what groups, etc. There is a lot of info on these two sites for starters: http://keywiki.org/index.php/Main_Page http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/ I had been pulling as many videos off youtube as I could of these assclowns exposing themselves admitting, meeting with, receiving awards from, etc., socialist and communist party organizations because folks have attacked youtube and keep getting all the videos taken down for copyright or other reasons. The one I've ben searching for over the last few months is of Richard Trumka (AFL-CIO) sitting in front of the mic blabbing and said: "I didn't get in to the union business for workers rights, I got in to it for the progressive agenda." I think that is pretty close to exactly what he said, but that got pulled off youtube so fast I never got to copy it. http://keywiki.org/index.php/Richard_Trumka http://www.discovert....asp?indid=1630 http://keywiki.org/blog/?p=1911 Anyway, ever find these clowns exposing themselves on video or recording, please save it to a disc and back it up twice. Before long, they'll have all proof of their real ajendas and socialist/communist affiliations pulled from the internet.

  16. The TSA has yet to catch a single terrorist. Prior to 1968 it was legal to carry your firearms on a plane. Prior to 1968, there was not one single successful hijacking of a US airliner. and yes, there were attempts. Hijacking was a pretty popular way of robbery in the rest of the world at the time. In 1968, Congress decided to make it illegal to have firearms on commercial airliners. Pure coincidence, of course.

  17. Returning to the US through a foreign airport is probably the worst. Last time I flew back to the US I counted 7 checkpoints I had to go through before I was in Nashville. I'm all for safety, but that needs to be balanced with reason. The current system is unreasonable. The root of the problem is that the TSA is a gov entity. If it was privatized by airports it would fix 85% of the inefficiency issue.

  22. I'm just curious if you'd be quite so supportive if his name was Mohammed Sharif and he was talking about cutting off the heads of infidels at the local mall? I suspect a few of the people who are crying big brother would be singing a different tune.

  23. Making generalized threats in the manner he did is why he was committed and not charged. If you say, "I'm gonna head down to the mall and shoot a bunch of folks", you won't be charged with assault, but you will probably be taken into custody and evaluated. That isn't about free speech, that is about being a clear and present danger to others. I get that it could be subjective, but I'm not going to sweat it until folks other than raving lunatics start getting rolled up. For now, it appears to be limited to those who are nuts.
