  1. Why then do you waste your time, or is it that you like to argue Robert? I really don't understand it. You have stated numerous times that you hate all of these Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, or Alex Jones videos, but every time ArmyVeteran creates a new thread you come in to complain about something in the thread or belittle the OP. I'm no rocket scientist, but when I see a thread created by certain individuals I am pretty sure what the content is going to be without opening the thread. If really hated all of these videos I certainly wouldn't open up the thread that is sure to contain them. Life is too short to get riled up over some political video a guy posted in a forum. But hey, this is a pretty free forum. You are allowed to be cantankerous. By the way, I prefer a 1911, but like and own Glocks too.

  2. I think you miss the point that many of us are tired of the same song and dance of voting for the lesser of two evils, which is still voting for 'evil'. We've been doing this for decades and what has it brought us? Nothing good. I know, I know, BHO is the devil incarnate and THIS election is THE MOST IMPORTANT EVAR. Like they all are.

  3. No, I didn't miss the point. I agree but the problems start at the local level and we seldom hear of libertarians and their ideas until it's a presidential election. Ron Paul has been preaching his message since the 70's, what has changed? Read my signature, we've had the same or similar problems for decades. One election slings the crap into the left corner and the next election slings it into the right. They are all evil in one way or the other.

  4. Wow. Doesn't get handled any better than that! +1 to the officer for not taking the bait. -1 for the guy doing the video. Clearly bating IMO. Not to derail but I just want to add I had a nice encounter (not so much) with the local law last night. I have been experimenting with open carry and the wife and I went to the local small town diner. She was really nervous about me OC'ing due to the reactions she thought we might get. When we pulled in I saw the police car and didn't really know what to expect. As we walked in police officer noticed my weapon right off the bat, kind of "analyzed" me, and said "Hi, how ya doing?" and that was it. Just really wanted to give a thumbs up for officers out there who are good at what they do.

  5. I have no problem lowering the drinking age to 18. If you are old enough to vote, old enough to serve in the military, old enough to enter into a legally binding contract, and old enough to go to prison, then you are old enough to drink legally.

  8. Yeah, keep reality on the down low, and everything will be just fine. Over the years, I've met more than a few current TGO members who didn't appear to have any issue throwing the "N-word" and other racial slurs around as if it were part of their everyday vocabulary. Of course they were doing this while not having a clue that I'm the Uncle of a half-black nephew and a half-hispanic nephew. And as far as the criminal charges go, I'd bet the farm that TGO has more than a few members who've had embarrassing run-ins with the law at least on time in their life. I believe in forgiveness and second chances for most crimes and mistakes, but everyone has their own line.

  11. I don't believe that anyone is out to destroy this country. I also don't believe that there are many politics that give a crap about his country or the working men and women who reside here. It's a ego thing. Public service is a thing of our youthful past. As usual we are faced with voting for two very bad candidates. This isn't the most important election ever. It's just the next election where the previous losing political party wants its toy boy back. If Mr Magic Drawers wins the Dems will swear that the world is going to end if they don't get back into power in 2016. I don't have the answer, because the powers that be will never share space with a third party. I do know that I don't buy anything coming out of the mouths of either of he presidential candidates. I only believe that there will be more pain for small business owners and workers regardless who wins. Good luck to you all, Links2k

  12. I don't have a dog in this fight, but in my opinion, his "admitting" to wrongdoing was not an acceptance of actions. He still was making excuses and attempting to downplay the severity of threating an innocent dude. If he was really apologetic it would look like this: "I f**ked up, recognize my mistakes and will seek to do better in the future." He is not sorry for what he did deep down, he is just sorry he got caught. Apologizing or accepting responsibility should not include a "but". It should just be unconditional. His was not. I do not feel bad for him.

  13. Let’s assume I am a Romney supporter and Paul gets the nomination. Staying home or lodging a protest vote for Romney only hurts Paul's chances to defeat BHO. Some have said every election is billed most important in history, but only one candidate in the current system has ever called the constitution and "charter or negative liberties". This election is bigger than my candidate of choice. It's is the defeat of BHO for the good of the country. I believe if unrestrained by the desire to be re-elected we will see how bad negative liberties can get. I like Glocks!

  16. So far, to me, it sounds like the only person the "shooter" shot is the former co-worker. The nine outside sound like they were caught in the police shootout with the perp (who doesn't seem to have got a shot off outside.)

  17. I'm a deer hunting noob as well, but I work with lots of avid hunters. The vast majority of them have never shot at a deer more than 100 yds away in TN (the guys that go to Ohio excepted). Between the hills and trees, most shots are within 50 yds.

  18. This officer did a simply outstanding job of resolving the situation without issue. I don't see the point of what the Kwik type guys are doing. It's fine by me if you want to open carry but just realize that, like it or not, it is outside the ordinary. If these guys really want to help a political cause they should be politely helping little old ladies cross the street or providing some sort of community service. Instead of showing people that there are nice, friendly, law-abiding people who might happen to own guns, these guys think they are somehow helping the cause by trying to provoke an improper reaction from law enforcement. This officer looks like a smart, well-trained guy who's just not buying it.

  19. Yeah, I think Dave is a little off base on this one. They could have picked up Weaver in town, just like they could've Koresh. Both events were all about the DoJ putting on a show.

  20. No one said otherwise, he will get the nomination. It reminds me of the elections behind the Iron Curtain. The repubs are twisting and distorting their own rules to make it look prettier - if they're willing to do this for image, what are they willing to do to get him in the WH? It's unnecessary, it's cheap, and it shows how desperate they are. It also shows how like the dems the repubs really are - do whatever it takes!

  22. Great sentiment but you can never and will never do what you say you want to do by voting for candidates that cannot win nor will it happen in just a few Presidential elections...Presidential elections aren't even teh place to start; the place to start is city, county elections then state legislatures and governorships and then, perhaps, President. The answer also isn't to kick the two political parties out of power because that will not happen either, the answer is to work within the party structure and mold the structure into a better shape. You make changes by working on it; not by posting videos...not by posting threads in an internet forum or on Facebook...you make changes by knocking on doors and making phone calls and donating money and stuffing envelopes and staying in close contact with your local office holders and state office holders....maybe you are already doing all that and if so, great...if not, you need to. We also need to get people to go VOTE! I've seen studies that show that less than 1/3 of eligible voters, including those who identify themselves as conservative or libertarian, are even registered; even fewer bother themselves to vote. If we can't get allegedly concerned citizens to even register; how the hell will anything will change.

  24. Haha, there is no 'my way' - as long as his rights are respected I couldn't care less how it turns out. Even your straw men are entertaining. You definitely bring a (presumed) unintentional bit of humor to the forums, and for that I thank you.

  26. LOL, like any of us knew all the evidence when the story broke. Heck, we probably still don't. You guessed and got lucky, but I wouldn't expect you to admit that. No worries, I've no horse in the 'who guessed right or wrong' game here, I didn't weigh in on it. I just find your 'told you so' attitude amusing.

  27. I wasn't being an ass. I was disagreeing with you strongly and without colorful language. My point is if someone is an "adult" at 18, then they should be given "adult" privileges like drinking a beer. If a guy can go fight, die, or be maimed for his country.....then he should be able to legally have a drink. You can't plan for the 10% that are going to screw up anything and everything. Are they suddenly going to stop screwing up when they hit 21? What's the difference b/w a guy who was 20 monday and 21 on tuesday? If my Army time has taught me anything, its this: if you treat them like children, they're going to act like children.

  29. Sure, but as we know little about what was found (or not), until this happened we were just guessing. You guessed correctly, congrats. Those who were defending the action were going on as much info as you had - virtually nothing. Agreed.

  32. That is a great video to show how a cop is supposed to do it. The idiots behind the camera simply are asking for a problem. Luckily, the cop didn't "bite" on it. The cop had the right to stop him and the stop was limited to only what he needed to do to investigate the suspicion and ended immediately upon determining that his suspicion was unfounded. Even after the cop explained what he was doing, the guy keeps pushing it. Why anyone thinks that is helpful to the 2A push or in any way proves anything (other than the guy's an idiot) to anyone is beyond me.

  34. Well, I don't think it is really a state law issue. It was the Feds that pretty much forced the states to raise the legal age, at least the last time. Regardless, I agree that at least active duty should be an exception at a minimum, but think it should be 18 for everyone. That, or raise the minimal enlistment age to 21.

  35. Thank you. Me too! The Good Lord looks out for foolish behavior...apparently. And you're right. It was excellent customer service, especially since I directly violated the factory warranty. I was fortunate on both accounts.

  36. Absolutely! Bankruptcy laws are there for a reason. They allow a company to reorganize and come out leaner and more profitable. What "The One" did was illegal to begin with. We will never get all the tax money back. Thanks Obama. November can't come fast enough.

  37. Dave, in my opinion the federal marshal died of a genetic disorder - terminal stupidity. I'm not, repeat not going to rehash that old history, but your opinion in the matter is a decided minority. Sooner or later, to man or to God, Horiuchi will answer for his misdeeds.

  38. JAB:_____________ Sorry i miss-spoke. I'll fix it for ya: "...To say a glock is ugly and utilitarian is a truth. To say a glock is not reliable, powerful, ergonomically correct (...for most folks.....), dangerous to potential evildooers (...in the right hands, of course....), or accurate is baloney.....". Hows that? leroy

  39. Casters great pronouncement above wuz me for a long time. I grew up on smiths, colts, and rugers, and wondered to myself who would buy such an ignorant thing as a glock. Several years ago, i found myself needing a small powerful carry pistol that didnt cost an arm and a leg. My smith model 36 wuz (...and is...) a great thing, but it probably wouldnt shoot thru a car door. It also only holds five rounds; and the thinkin was that i might need two of 'em down "across the tracks" where there could be several hoodlums about; and i wuz runnin out of pockets to carry 'em in.. An ole buddy of mine solved this problem by selling me a glock 33 at a price i couldnt afford not to take. I rounded up the reloading stuff and went to work. I soon found out why glocks are, in fact, the tomorrow of self defense (...and military....) handguns. They are incredibly reliable, stupendously accurate, reasonably priced, and full of death as a drug store. Ten shots (...thats two model 36's full of high velocity hoodlum removal pills....) in one compact little pistol that looks for all the world like a combination of green tupperware and scrap iron. Ya just cant beat that combination. Now our little herd of glocks has went from one to three; and were lookin for a 45 acp right now (...hopefully a glock 36....). To say a glock is ugly and utilitarian is a truth. To say a glock is not reliable, powerful, ergonomically correct, dangerous to potential evildooers (...in the right hands, of course....), or accurate is baloney. Now to the most important part of this post. To pharaphrase what a great poster once posed on a similar thread RE: this very subject here a year or two ago: "...You know, glocks aint worth a damn and they are dangerous to handle. Please ship them to me for disposal and ill take care of it for ya, so ya wont get hurt. ....". leroy
