  1. She should have called 911 and led him around until they got him instead of going home. Glad everything is okay.

  2. Don't go confronting people. Even if they started it. What would you have done if you found the guy? What would he have done? This is how people become the lead story on the 10:00 news.

  3. WTF? He needs to sue this police department into the ground. They all pointed weapons at him when they discovered that he had a weapon in a holster? Then they want to know why he's armed? I'd say the fact that a crazy man went into a theater and shot 70 people is a pretty good reason to be armed in a movie theater. The world is losing its mind. They said he was uncooperative. Well, I imagine if a bunch of cops just drew down on me and then scolded me for legally carrying a weapon my responses would be limited to 4 letter words. Cops in New England must be pants wetting bitches.

  4. After all of the posts for Ron Paul you have now switched to Gary Johnson? Loyalty doesn't rate high for you, does it?

  5. Just an observation. Why is it when anyone posts something positive about a third party candidate, someone has to come in and -1 each post? It is good to have disagreements, but come on. Sheesh. BTW, I +1'd each post that was showing -1.

  7. Thanks, but past is much too checkered. For conservative or liberal mainstream support. Plus, this country won't elect anything but a Christian. Yet. That's why BHO had to claim to be one, why at least half the bastards claim to be one. - OS

  8. A bit late to be taking a stand but they're welcome to drop a turd in the punchbowl. Sorry, Romney's it, if they have any sense, they'll just have to get over it. Or do a protest vote for a 3rd party candidate and let Obaloney have their vote.

  9. It's one thing to get checked out after a MWAG call, but quite another to get arrested for apparently lawful behavior. Sounds like the police breached the peace more than the "perp" did and the "interfering with police" is a real tossup. 20 cops, wow. He's being really nice about it, but I bet he sues, and rather hope he does. - OS

  10. Well I think one of the problems now days is we are too politically correct. And that our freedom of speech is slowly being eroded away. This wall street bunch is stealing left and right, the banks are no better. Thousands of people have lost their life savings… And I think it is time to stand up to all the bullies and say “hey, we are not going to take any of your crap anymore.: "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything." -Alexander Hamilton

  11. Saw this on Yahoo. People lack common decency nowadays. This is very, very inappropriate.

  12. I'm aware of that; I was just pointing out to you that no one's beating you over the head with anything. You have a choice whether to watch them or not. If you know what the subject matter is, and you watch it anyway, it seems to me a little intellectually dishonest to claim that you're being "beaten over the head" with them.

  13. Well, I agree that the devisive tactics of the administration have really polarized the country more than I have ever seen. And you're right, this is probably what it felt like in the years leading up to Lincoln's election. I just don't quite think we're there yet, and I believe the pendulum will swing in the minds of the voters before we do get there. As far as this article goes, the odd thing that sticks out is the mention of the tea party movement as a uniting belief structure that gets this ball rolling. Every scenario I've ever been involved in during exercises are involving an enemy of a made up country or terrorist organization. I couldn't understand why this Colonel would use a popular political movement to build this scenario as it would detract from the actual scenario he would want his students to think through. But then I read one of the comments on Small Wars and it made a little more sense to me. The comment points out that while it is sensitive to use an existing organization, it was probably done in order to be more thought provoking for his students. If it was a made up organization, or an existing radical organization like the KKK or NBPP it might make the answers a little "too" clear to the students as an extremist organization, even if they are American, would be easily dismissed and viewed one dimensionally in the scenario. However, a popular political movement that is not rooted in violence or extremism such as the tea party movement would cause the students to look at the scenario less as an "us versus them" and rather "us versus Americans" and consider that into their planning. The article goes on to highlight the laws which military officers cannot violate in such a scenario, and so identifies capability gaps that wouldn't exist in full spectrum operations conducted outside our borders. For example, doing something as simple as an overflight to collect imagery of insurrectionist road blocks would be illegal for the military to do. Any imagery used would have to be open source such as Google Earth or Map Point. All in all, the scenario itself is quite silly. It omits so much in terms of what would reasonably happen if such an event ever took place. That is why I don't take it as something of concern, just something that a professor was trying to use to get his students to consider what their left and right limits are on our soil. Perhaps he is regretting using the tea party thing now that this has become a big deal, or maybe he is pleased that it was so thought provoking and added that much realism to the project. Of course, he probably shouldn't have submitted it to Small Wars to be published on the internet. He should have figured that something like this would happen and folks might take it out of context.

  16. I don't think he really needs a professional resume writer...there are plenty of good sites on the net that can help him craft a good resume. Resume's are about 2% of the job hunt process...any decent job you apply for today is going to require you fill out detailed info online (unless it's some mom and pop type operation).

  17. Keep us apprised. I'm nosy and I wanna see where this goes. THere's several good 'smiths in the mid-TN area. Get it to one of them, let them help you get it going and looking good again. THen cough up the $$$ for a reloading setup and dedicate it to 2 1/2" 16g. You HAVE to do it now. It's a moral imperative.

  18. I would love to see a moratorium on ALL political videos until after the election - I've see so many touting RP/GJ that I would have a difficult time voting for either of them even if I otherwise would have. I don't purport to speak for Dale Carnegie but I think he would probably think that beating people over the head with these videos is not the way to influence people to your candidate.

  25. With OPSEC in consideration; I was the convoy commander for a large portion of what you saw, which are organic and task organized elements of a Battlefield Surveillance Brigade. They (we) are participating in an exercise called Vibrant Response 13 Public Info: http://www.arnorth.army.mil/News/Vibrant-Response--13.aspx Or google for more. The route; 65/840/40/Briley/65 was a beast. Think of the logistics of moving 400+ vehicles and 1000s of troops over public roads...

  26. Buy bigger pants and carry in a good quality holster. You only get what you pay for. I'm always bewildered at folks who pay $500 -$800 for a carry weapon and then won't spend the money on a complete carry system, which includes a holster and a belt. Don't be fooled by this stuff.

  27. Dan Wessons were noted for very good accuracy. There were several design factors that were responsible for that. The cylinder locked both front and rear, the barrel was stiffened by the barrel nut in the front, the cylinder pawl held the cylinder tight on firing(like a colt), triggers were decent. The downside was they could shoot loose if shot with a lot of heavy loads. they could be tightened back up rather easily with a few parts. I don't remember why DW went under. I think the auto pistol craze and Silhouette shooting dropped off probably had a lot to do with it.
