I imagine that it still hurts like crap getting shot time after time even with body armor. Those of you who have read my posts before know I've never been the Mall Ninja or Rambo type but I sincerely believe this is why you need to carry enough mags to reload, get in close with slow, steady, accurate fire, and bring the hammer down. I know, I know, tear gas and all that, and I know how that sounds and the likelyhood of somone like myself accomplishing this but I'd rather get shot shooting back than let him get a free shot to my back running away.3 points

I've heard so much stupidity today, it's worse than ever. A NYPD "expert" said that hi cap mags are federally illegal, Chief Oates says "didn't know if the AR was full auto or semi-auto" (even though he knew it was bought at Gander Mountain), saying he was assured by experts that even if only semi-auto, could have shot 50-60 rounds in a minute with a drum mag (even I can double that), ,and everybody just amazed that a person could buy a bunch of ammo over the internet in "such a short period of time",. etc etc etc. Gag me with a backhoe. There were 90 traffic fatalities today. Like every day. Perspective. - OS3 points

I meet some more die hard Ron Paul supporters today handing out flyers that said Ron Paul was the only answer to beat Obama. I did a little Q&A with them and for the most part they were nice and humored me. I asked them a question that seemed to piss them off and they walked away from me. What might that question be you ask, I simple asked "How does Ron Paul plan on winning when the last third party to win a single electoral vote was 50 years ago and the last guy to take more than 50 electoral vote was a guy named Theodore Roosevelt?" They did not have anything to say to that and just walked away from me. I normally I do not talk politics but this year my blood is boiling a little with people voting 3rd party so they don't have to vote for Romney and they fully believe that the 3rd party person they will vote for can win the election. I am all for voting for who you think is the best candidate any year but this year. To me this year comes down to voting for based n how you feel Obama did the last 3 1/2 years. If you are ok with his job vote for Obama, if you are upset with the direction of the country then you need to vote for Romney. To many people voting straight ticket kills any chance for a 3rd party to win. ok rant over2 points

CRIME BECK BLASTS ABC’S MISREPORTING, USES GOOGLE TO TURN TABLE ON REPORTER WHO INDICTED TEA PARTY Posted on July 20, 2012 at 1:39pm by Tiffany Gabbay The mainstream media never seems to miss an opportunity to politicize a tragedy in its rush to paint conservatives in a negative light. In this instance, ABC news irreverently used an unverified report in an attempt to tie the Tea Party to the Aurora, CO shooter. The result was that an innocent man by the same name was fingered as the shooter. (Visit The Blaze’s separate page on the shooting for all the latest news and updates) Responding to ABC’s Brian Ross and his hair-trigger reporting, Glenn Beck said that the media’s job “is not to go out and speculate.†“Their job is to report the news not make the news.†ABC was the “first†to turn this tragedy into a “political potato,†Beck said, and even noted that he wondered in his initial reaction who would be the first to do so. Beck and his crew discussed the level of irresponsibility among journalists and news outlets today and said it is time for irresponsible media to be sued and made an example of. Even the Huffington Post is blasting ABC for its reporting, which speaks volumes about just how unprofessional the news outlet’s conduct is. Beck asked what good misinformation does for anyone. “It does none.†But Beck and his radio team wasn’t done there. They also decided to point out the absurdity of Ross’s actions by doing some Googling and finding crimes in which someone named “Brian Ross†was mentioned. It wasn’t hard, and it made for a revealing segment: This story has been updated with additional information. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/beck-blasts-abcs-misreporting-on-co-shooter-media-should-be-sued-and-made-an-example-of/2 points

I also hate that if I vote who best fits my values and goals, I would be taking a vote away from the candidate that actually has a chance of winning. I by no means feel that Romney is the guy that is going to turn the country around in 4yrs but I am terrified that if I don't vote for him that in 4yrs there will be no reason to vote in an election ever again. I feel that 4 more years of the current situation is going to collapse the US as we know it.2 points

Most peaceful time in history? Well, that's the problem. It's been so long that when the top blows off this go round, it's gonna be worse than it ever was. Couple that with the fact that we have a country full of the most spineless, sniveling castrated cowards in all of history and we are really in for it. The sissymary tittybabies of this country have no stomach for what they are going to get and the wails and gnashing of teeth will be audible from coast to coast.2 points

Soooo, things happen, and hard work is sometimes appreciated. I have been the QA Manager for three years (until last Thursday) with the company I work for. As of 2pm Thursday, I have assumed the role of Plant Manager for our two manufacturing facilities in Chattanooga (approximately 350 people total employment / 75mm in annual sales). I am very excited to have the opportunity, and nervous at the same time. Lot of responsibility, but I have a great support staff that I have already worked with during these years. Just wanted to share, and am always open to advice.1 point

Big Bad John throws open the saloon door, screams, "All you lily-livered weak-kneed sons o' bitches clear out!" Mad scramble ensues as 50 folks all vacate the premises. One old codger remains at one table with bottle of rye. Big Bad John approaches, says "Didn't you hear me, old man?" Codger hands him the bottle, says, "Sure wuz a lot of them, eh?" - OS1 point

I don't think it would have mattered. People like this are cowards. Proof of that being he went into a theater full of folks he knew to be unarmed and randomly shot people. He knew that he was safe the whole time. If a person so much as pointed a gun in his direction he would have fled or surrendered. People like this are just the lowest form of coward that exist. The fact that he surrendered to police shows it. He probably had grand ideas in his head of going out in a blaze of glory, but chickened out when he heard the sirens. People like this want to be in charge of their own deaths... they are too scared to let someone else kill them. Look at most of the other mass shootings where the shooter kills himself. It's all about cowardly control. I really, really hope that bad things happen to him. Unfortunately, at this point he's getting what he wants. All the media attention.. people all wanting to know who he is. He will spend his life sentence in prison in a bubble of protection from general population, 'cause you know he wouldn't last with the real toughies. Does Colorado still put people to death or are they completely overrun with granola eaters?1 point

It would also depend on what kind of armor he had on, like level I, II, III etc, plate. Yes, though I think it would hurt getting hit even with armor on.1 point

You know, the investigators tried to press charges looong before Al and Jesse got involved. Apparently there was something then. The only thing separating this from wild speculation about corruption is that first DA. What if he would have charged him in the first place at the advice of the investigators? Would people be screaming foul then?1 point

I don't think there was ever a real estate agent. The article implys that they started this paperwork on adverse possession before the owners even came back. I think they just squatted, did the paperwork and lied.1 point

Interesting how stuff like this happens right around when any major gun legislation is in the works...cough cough the UN ATT. Sorry, alot of this doesn't make sense. Anyone who would do this would most likely be willing to take their own life or fight to the death, not get apprehended in the parking lot. Booby trap the apartment, gas canisters, ect. This thing stinks to high heaven of a staged attack. Soften up the public during a time when a few senators are on the fence about going with Obama on the ATT to get them on his side. 9/11 and suddently no one care's one bit about the treasonous patriot act because it wll keep us all safe. Now this right before the ATT vote. Just wait for the next couple weeks as the media deamonizes guns every single day...blah blah blah until they can get the ATT vote pushed through, then we are all screwed and we'll look back on this and wonder what happened. Sorry liberals you can't support any of what you preach with an ounce of evidence that less guns = more safety...quite the opposite. How many people died in Chicago yesterday? How many people died from car accidents yesterday? How many people died of heart disease yesterday? Bet the numbers in perspective will suprise you.1 point

Detroit, and by that we mean the auto industry because you can't separate that industry from the city, failed for multiple reasons. Auto manufacturers misread and and misunderstood Market driven sales. They quit making cars people wanted and made cars they thought they could make huge profits on. Unions got greedy and priced American Labor right out of the market. The Industry executives showed lousy leadership and worried more about their own fortunes and less about real profit from sales. European and Asian factories, bombed out during WW2 finally rebuilt and offered quality competition, American Auto Manufacturers did nothing to respond and compete. The Auto industry, the unions and the workers themselves brought on their own doom. Quit blaming politicians, from either party. This was a free market failure (where somebody didn't pay attention to the market), and it went down without government intervention. The later bail outs were just a weak attempt to pick up the pieces and were too late to do any good. If I buy another American car (and I probably will) it will be a Ford, they know how to meet the market.1 point

hardly too much for one guy to put together. I seriously doubt he was a poor, struggling financially college kid. In med school? Family surely had some money. Even if not, college kids have credit cards. Not hard at all to buy several thousand dollars worth of gear on visa or M/C. I am a poor SOB and have way more firepower than this guy had. Money is not an obsticle.1 point

This is where the rubber meets the road. Based on what I have gathered, I think Trayvon didn't flee. He saw someone watching him, got his gangsta on, approached him, asked if he had a problem, then commensed to stomping Z's ass. This is based entirely on speculation, just like your opinion is. But there is a lot of evidence supporting Trayvon being a gansta (either legit or wannabee). Gangsta's take any opportunity to show how bad they are.1 point

I question what was there first--the firing range or the subdivision? If it was the firing range then the complaints need to go to the developer and real estate agent for not disclosing that fact. If it was the subdivision then the decision maker on the location should be at a minimnum be reprimanded and taken off any future job promotion list. I wouldn't want the noise from a range either but I wouldn't knowing buy the property if I knew it was there. Would be like building next door to a railroad track and then complainting to the railroad about the trains.1 point

People can still be a threat even if they are on the ground. As long as they have a weapon in their hand some could still consider them a "threat." As far as most are concerned he did what was right and no one was killed.1 point
-
Where the law is concerned, yes it can and often times is. What part of "imminent threat" are you having difficulty with?1 point
-
TN law says you can discharge your weapon ONLY if your life is in immediate danger. Two thugs running away from you, even though they are armed, do NOT constitute an imminent threat. Sorry.1 point

I don’t have the protections I had as a cop, so I’m not getting involved in any situation that doesn’t involve an individual needing my immediate help. But when someone is being killed; I’m steeping in. I would very quickly let the guy know if he didn’t stop I was going to kill him. If he makes a move towards her or me with the knife again; I shoot him. Bother me? Absolutely not, I could shoot him and go eat lunch. There is no “moral dilemma†for me. I would think the moral dilemma would be if you stood by and watched someone stabbed to death and did nothing.1 point

Remember a honest person has no rights. A dishonest person has all the rights. This country and it's laws are broken. It is not a republican or democrat thing. It is a right and wrong thing. And some judicial moron won't stand up for what is right. Granted the homeowner is not 100% without fault since they are $20,000 behind on their mortgage, But these people think that they bought a nice house in Colorado for $5000. The real estate agent that sold the house needs to be held accountable for this clusterfu#k1 point
