  1. Overreach. This is now in 'piling on' territory. I'm thinking the judge let it be released because he's pissed that Zimmerman's lawyer filed to get him off the case. If Zimmerman is in his 30's now, and this crap allegedly went on when the "victim" was 6 to 16 and Zimmerman was 8 to 18, then they were juvies for the most part and this was more than a decade ago. What does this have to do with shooting someone who's beating your head into the pavement? Nothing.

  2. And for us older people also, Obama’s following is solid and united. It will take every vote for Romney to beat Obama. Please think about what you are doing before voting for someone that has no chance of winning.

  3. When he voted to approve Timothy Geithner I emailed him to voice my disapproval of letting a tax cheat run the Treasury Dept. He wrote back that we should allow Prez Zero to have anyone he needs to get the economic system under control and said that Geithner was "most qualified." I wrote back, "With that standard, I believe Rod Blagojevich is qualified to be a Tennessee senator." He blocked my email from then on.

  4. I was lucky enough to be able to help David this weekend at the Grey gun show. It was a great experience and I am very glad that I got to meet a fellow TGOer and hopefully a new friend. I learned alot from David and he was very gracious to let me hang around the booth this weekend. If you all haven't met David check him out at the next show around you. His reloading supply prices are the best around and plus your supporting a TGO vendor (plus one heck of a good guy!).

  5. I fail to see what Yeager did years ago in Iraq has to do with someone posting an AAR about their impressions of a training class at Tactical Response. And according to the OP, Yeager was not even one of the instructors. Yet the Yeager-haters want to immediately jump in and post stuff that is completely irrelevant to the topic of the thread. That's thread crapping, pure and simple. Those posts were out of line, and only serve to discourage people from posting future AARs about training. Maybe you could start an "I Hate James Yeager" section here on TGO. That way, other members and site staff can post ad nauseum about their disdain for Yeager, and keep that stuff out of the technical forums on TGO.

  7. IMO: "Esquire" suggests lawyer -- newcomer to the forum with zero previous posts suggests CCA's lawyer. Well? Threats and intimidation tactics don't go down well with this crowd. No libel here -- if relating a statement from a purported eye-witness, and that is what the purported eye-witness said, there is no libel. The truth is a defense against libel. Additionally, the "five minutes" is qualified with ". . . took maybe 5 minutes . . . " which is materially different from "five minutes." I imagine the purported eye-witness made a statement to police, which therefore is a public record. Perhaps the police report ought to be retrieved and posted online. Why don't you just tell Analog Kidd to ". . . just shut up, or someone might break your legs." Do you think that might be just as effective? Perhaps someone from CCA will sign on and repudiate your statements. IMO.

  12. I've tried Unique. It's a bit fast for magnum cartridges. But it's awful dirty. Or I should say that it has a lot of graphite in it. 2400 always worked will for me. Any guesses what the charge would be for the hornady 225 gr FTX? According to them there is so much bearing surface that I had to cut the h110 load down.

  16. Yep...I've thought from the beginning that Zimmerman was being railroaded by the racebaiters and pundits looking to push their own self-importnace. Zimmerman may not be totally innocent or without blame in what happened but that's a long way form second degree murder. He, at the very, very least deserves a fair trial and I'm glad he appears to have good lawyers on his side.

  17. Assault Weapons Ban: Funny you should bring that up. Last February I was at the 2A Freedom Conference in Columbus Ohio which was done in conjunction with the Buckeye Firearms Association's annual meeting/banquet. At the table I was sitting at for the banquet every single person except me had Ron Paul button on. The talk naturally turned to politics and I asked how they liked their current governor, Kasich...they had nothing but good things to say about him. I thought that was odd and I said so...you see, back in 1982 I lived in Columbus and then candidate Kasich was going door to door to try and unseat a very long-time house Democrat; while he was shaking my hand I asked him his stand on gun control laws and the second amendment - he said he would never support or vote for any legislation that would infringe on our second amendment rights. Sounded really good....really good. A year or so later after he had won the election, guess what he voted for? The "Assault Weapons Ban"...when I pointed that out to the RP button wearers it didn't seem to bother them which seemed pretty odd given what the banquet was about. Of course, I can't prove it but I at least suspect that if Kasich were the Republican nominee this year there would be a lot of people who would be just fine voting for him and forget all about his Assault Weapon Ban vote (not to mention the fact that he was willing to lie about to those, like me, when he was seeking our vote). I'd probably vote for him to but I'll never forget or forgive him his lie to me. Romney care: Did you just a day or two ago sort of take me to school on "states rights"? I abhor the whole concept of forcing people to have health insurance if they don't want it but if a state wants to mandate that everyone have health insurance don't they have the right to do so based on the concept of states rights? Taxes: Did he personally propose such himself or did him simply sign the bills/allow them happen? I think knowing would make a difference. I don't believe that Romney on his worst day would increase taxes one one-thousandth as much as Obama...maybe that's a poor reason for being "for" someone but it is...what you classify as "fear" I call it coming to a conclusion based on reason and logic. I guess we just see things differently.

  18. Obviously you don't understand. Based on past actions, I suspect that the Ron Paul supporters will be posting stuff like this 20 years from now (that's assuming of course that we don't re-elect Obama and we even have the freedom to post or express our opinion about anything.

  19. If a politician hasn't given me a very strong reason to re-elect him, then it's time to relace him. Public office wasn't meant to be a career, by the founders of our country.

  20. I'm not ready to swallow the lies of the GOP just yet. I may when November gets here, but until then, I'm leaving my options open. I haven't ruled out not voting at all.

  21. I think what is offensive about your incessant repetition is that you don't seem to think that anyone understands the gravity of the situation but you. I think we all appreciate how bad another four years with Barry at the helm would be. Frankly, I haven't made up my mind yet, but I resent having Romney as my ONLY option. If he's the best that the GOP can produce, then maybe another 4 years of Obama would wake them up. I think you're a pretty smart guy, Robert, but understand that the rest of us aren't dummies.

  22. You would find me at a TEA Party rally if the only thing they were pushing was fiscal conservatism. Unfortunately, Lester is right. Leadership at local levels have attached baggage which has national level implications. As much as folks in the TEA Party want to consider themselves very loosely affiliated, that is not the percepetion. I don't think they're whack jobs the way the media protrays them. When the movement first started I was on board all the way. Then I hear a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with the objectives of cutting spending. I won't attach my name to something I don't believe in even if some of their goals suit my wishes. That's how we ended up with the two parties we have.

  23. Assault weapons ban, Romney care, higher taxes and fees? Go ahead and argue about shades of gray if it makes you feel good about supporting him. Fear must be some motivator. It's a fact he signed a ban on assault rifles, it's a fact he did Romney Care, it's a fact he raised taxes and it also a fact he raised fees on almost everything in his state. --- So Keifer, you've gone from Paul-bot to obama-drone? Well, I reckon if it makes you feel better call me whatever you like.

  27. I'm sure I'd have less to say about the subject if there were fewer videos posted (almost daily) with the same general subject matter; that being that we should vote for an irrelevant candidate. I think it important that people understand just how dangerous for the country that path is.

  29. I still don't think they'll find him guilty with what's been presented so far. Sure, you have folks that are certain he's guilty. Finding 12 random folks that all AGREE he's guilty? I wouldn't bet my own money on that. It would be different if he didn't have decent council. I think his lawyers are great.

  30. I admire your conviction for your candidate, but for the sake of us younger people, please help us remove Obama from office. As I have said before I don't think Romney is really all that better than Obama, but he isn't Obama and we can at least hope he will be better. I don't want to be saddled with the debt created by another four years of Obama in office.

  32. An original nickel Smith has an "N" stamped on the gripframe. I can tell you that I'm unaware of any factory nickel 1917s. A refinish will affect the value greatly, and it's value will be only what it's worth as a shooter.

  33. To a collector an after market nickle finish would seriously lower the value of the gun. I was under the impresssion they were all blued. I can't get to my book to double check that for you right now. Do you recall if the hammer and trigger were also nickled or were they blued or case hardened?

  34. China has been at it for a very, very long time. It depends on how you define "works" !!! Their system apparently "works" for them. Our system works too. When it is used. The current crop (last 50+ years really) in office ignore the design and actively try to avoid following it with every trick in the book and then some. Take the "its a tax" ruling from the SC on obama care: he knew what he wanted to do, the trick is to find a way to justify it. They all do this now. Any system, filled with corrupt jerks, will fail. Any system, with (a) strong leader(s) can work --- many a monarchy worked under a strong king, many a country that uses a model like ours works, and many a dictatorship also works. And every form of government has failed as well. The leaders make or break the country. Our leaders are horrible right now. This is not a good thing....

  35. I would vote for almost anyone that would promise to destroy the two party system. I can not believe people support anyone conservative . It can never work and A so called democercy can never work. it never has and never will. It is just the same as playing monopoly an we know how that ends. One person ends up with it all and everyone else gets not one thing. Why don't folks see that is where we are headed. Every year the rich get a bigger percentage of everything and the rest get less. How long can this go on ? I remain ashamed of us all. Danny

  37. Seriously? A Rossi is a good gun, but a Smith and Wesson won't hold up? Where did you hear this? There was a problem; I believe reported much more often than happened, with the Model 19 K frames. The 110 and 125 grain screamers, after a while, were occasionally cracking forcing cones. They worked fine with heavier projectiles. An L or N frame Smith in 357 will shoot anything you put in it, and more than you'll ever care to buy or load. Heck, Smith and Wesson was the FIRST gun chambered for the 357 Mag. Jerry Miculek isn't shooting a Rossi.
