1. And then there's dealing with people for whom Glock is the only answer ... (for the record, I like Glocks just fine, I just enjoy laughing at people who take it all a bit too seriously)

 4. I got no problem with Glocks. They are fantastic weapons. The only problem I have is with people you meet at the range, or dealers that drank the Glock-aid. They can be quite annoying. They seem not to understand that if Colt sucked they would not be in business for over 100 years, and if Beretta sucked they would not be in business after almost 500 years. People, in general, are narrow minded I think.

 9. Here's the best one out there, IMHO. http://www.maglula.com/PistolMagLoaders.aspx It's NOT clumsy, very efficient, and will save you lots of time and blisters.

 10. I wear a 5.11 nylon belt, had it for probably 4 years now and I've worn it everyday. Not expensive and seems to be a decent belt.

 11. I have all of them and will give my opinion, take it as that. I base my information on my following guns; Complete KIDD Supergrade 10/22 - $$$$ Stock 10/22 Deluxe - $ CZ 453 Varmint 17HMR - $$ CZ 452 Military Trainer - $ CZ 452 FS 22 WMR- $$ CZ 452 Ultra Lux - $$ Savage 93FVSS 17HMR - $ As you mentioned that you want something to mimic a centerfire for cheap training and you want something that the kids can start to learn with, I absolutely recommend the CZ (either 452 or 453). There are merits to the many different models and I will be glad to give my opinion on that as well, but I won't go into that detail here. So why the CZ? Quality. This will have the best fit and finish and overall level of quality out of the box. This is important to me because I think if you use this gun to train your kids, it can truly be an hierloom quality gun that your kids can keep and pass down. This for me is probably the most important reason to go with the CZ. Accuracy. I think the Savage and CZ are capable of being equal in this category out of the box. The 10/22 will be ok, but will need some work to get up to speed with the others. My KIDD SuperGrade costs 4x as much as my CZ Trainer for comparable accuracy - sometimes. Open Sites and Peep Sites. For me, I think kids should start to learn with open sites and even learn how to use peep sites. I think they are fun for games and improve marksmenship. For me, the CZ gives me the best options for open sites, peep sites, and eventually a scope, all on the same gun. The other two don't really handle peep sites as well in my opinion. Single Shot Adaptors - Again for Kids, I am a proponent of learning one shot at a time to understand mechanics and safety. You can get these for the CZ and Savage. Trigger - the Savage Accutrigger is probably the best out of the box, but with a simple modification, I think the CZ trigger can be made better overall. The 10/22 trigger is terrible out of the box. It can also be improved, but not to the level of the CZ unless you get into high end replacements like the Kidd trigger. (Which I would also highly recommend) If nothing else, go back to #1. If overall fit and finish isn't as important, you can't go wrong with the Savage. It will shoot straight and have a good trigger (Accutrigger models) out of the box. It will also be a little cheaper than the CZ most of the time. The 10/22 is fun, but I think I would recommend it for a little later after the kids learn how to shoot with a bolt gun. My 4 1/2 cents. Good luck with your purchase.

 12. I hated Glocks for years. Then I actually shot one. Then I bought one. And another... ...and I found out how junky other designs are. Here's to me being wrong.

 14. Google the "doctrine of the 3%". 3% of the gun owning population is likely all we would get, but hopefully all we would need. We aren't talking about showing up for a rally somewhere or writing a strongly worded letter to your congresscitter. This is the subject of armed rebellion, how many people do you think are honestly prepared engage in civil war?

 15. Some people want to have their firearms to look "pretty" or to give the impression that "it costs more because it looks that good". To each their own. Over the years I've had tons of different handguns and "tried" them all. My first handgun was a Kimber ProCarry II. Why....because I thought not only did it look good but I had to have a .45acp. Well, the Kimber didn't work out for me as well as others didn't. I've had Sigs, M&P's, Beretta's, Taurus', Rugers, Para's and even had a Springfield XD. They are all fine weapons and all were reliable. Some felt good while shooting and others didn't. I was never interested in the block called 'Glock" untill my wife insisted she have a G19 for herself. After shooting it I realizied that the G19 was almost a perfect fit for me. The more I thought about it and researched, my thoughts and feelings changed over time as to what I would actually need a pistol for. I don't need a range queen nor do I care to have one that looks "nice" and not be able to enjoy it when playing in the mud. Soooo.....it all came down to Glocks and the fact that they aren't pretty, they fit my hands well and are easy to shoot, clean and service. I have learned to use firearms Iike I would a tool. A wood worker practices with his wood working tools to improve his technique.....which is what I do with my Glocks. I could care less if a bit of mud or dirt get on or in my Glock. I don't care to shoot my Glock in the rain. I have tossed my Glock in a mud puddle, swirl it around and then shoot it to prove a point to others whom say Glocks are worthless....still I haven't seen anyone toss their 1911 or M&P or other handgun into a mud puddle to prove a point to me. I figured in the long run, IF there ever was a time I needed my weapon for a "war" or "zombie" senerio I wanted something I knew would not only be reliable but could hold out in the long run under harsh "uncleaned" conditions. Yes, many handguns can fit that bill but many aren't brave enough to do that with something that costs more than the usual Glock does......JMHO

 16. This happens a lot, but people get all fired up over something and forget. Write it down. Do not forget it. DO NOT CONFRONT RANDOM PEOPLE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Eventually, someone who has both the authority to do so and the training, backup, and means to handle it will take care of it. If you want to do something, record and report on it. If the cops/officials ignore you, stir the pot with the internet or local news.

 19. When he voted to approve Timothy Geithner I emailed him to voice my disapproval of letting a tax cheat run the Treasury Dept. He wrote back that we should allow Prez Zero to have anyone he needs to get the economic system under control and said that Geithner was "most qualified." I wrote back, "With that standard, I believe Rod Blagojevich is qualified to be a Tennessee senator." He blocked my email from then on.

 22. I've always maintained that I'd love to go fishing (or hunting) with both President Bush's - and even though they've both got more money than I'll ever have, I'd happily buy the beer afterwards if they'd do me the honor of drinking one with me. I sincerely believe that they are both good men and great Americans.
