So last night me and the family were out eating at an event. After it was over a guy comes up and introduces himself to me. He said he noticed I was carrying (good eye, because I thought I was pretty concealed) and wanted to thank me for carrying and protecting my family and everyone else there (including his family). This is the first time anyone has ever noticed me carrying (or at least the first time someone said anything) and I was pleasantly surprised at his response. He is a real cool guy and I just wanted to share his unusual response.(not unusual to me, but unusual compared to most the stories I read on here)3 points

That's what I thought when I first read it. He was a short-timer. Needed to get rid of him somehow.2 points
-
Exactly! I hope he retires in style with his lawsuit earnings AND the ones that fired him get canned next.2 points
-
This isn't about the gun, I think. It's more likely Detroit wants to avoid paying a pension to a guy who's two years away from retiring.2 points

I've been a very vocal critic of CCA for a while now based on multiple previous experiences. I decided to drop in today to ask some questions about Class 3 stuff and see what suppressors they had on hand. Today's experience was exactly the opposite of my last two or three times in the store. I received excellent customer service from two different employees and had all of my questions answered. They gained me back as a customer today. I figure if I take the time to bash them when they suck I can at least praise them when they do a great job.1 point

I was just reading that. It does nothing to prevent the ensuing riots if he is found justified, not guilty or whatever. Unfortunately. Nor will it alleviate the damage already done.1 point

And some people are irrationally convinced that a law which prohibits something will somehow magically prevent it from happening. Last I checked, murder was against the law and breaking that law often has some pretty severe penalties. Someone who is willing to break that law likely isn't going to be deterred by a law preventing them from having a gun in a park. Of course, I am preaching to the choir on this one. The example I like to use is this: How likely do you think it is that some criminal would say, "I'd really like to rob that bank over there. I've got this gun I stole and I'd shoot anybody who got in my way. I'd shoot the teller if she wouldn't turn over the money. Killin' ain't nothing, to me but, dammit, they went and ruined my whole plan by postin' that 'no guns' sign on the bank door. How am I supposed to get on with my robbin' and killin' with that sign keeping me from havin' a gun in there?" Yep, the idea is just as stupid as it sounds.1 point

If a firearm is purchased from us and has a problem new or used, we take care of it. Whether that be taking it and giving your money back, allowing what you paid towards something else, or repairing it ourselves/ taking care of the warranty repair with the manufacturer. If you bought a gun from us and you just changed your mind and dont like it anymore that aint gonna cut it, unfortunately.1 point

I say Focus, but then I'm more about practical than flash. But then I'm also the guy who says that new cars are a sucker's bet. I let you guys take the butt pounding on that initial 2-3 years worth of depreciation. I'll stick to buying nice 3 year old used cars and driving them until they fall apart. Rinse and repeat. (got 278,000 miles out of my last car, just about to cross 100K on the current car)1 point

Oh, it's "legal". It's just not constitutional. One more kink in the system that needs fixin'. I don't remember what the limits are on seizing cash, but they're low. I've gotten into arguments with other officers about the laws on seizing peoples' cash. If they get locked up and you seize the cash along with a pound of dope, fine. If you find a wad of cash and there's no proof of illegal activity, you leave it the **** alone! Legal or not, it's what is right.1 point

I doubt that minority David speaks of would be so violent if they had the ability to grasp simple concepts. One in particular I find both interesting as well nauseating is their dependence on social programs paid for by the working class blue collars they seek to destroy. They fail to understand that their sloth coupled with the lack of intelligence or aptitude for anything productive make them a slave. An infuriating concept for them I'm sure! Which brings me full circle. Could this be the real reason behind their aggression?1 point

Kieefer, one thing to take into account is that there is a significant contingent of Paul supporters who don't identify with the rest of the Republican party, myself being one of them. The Republican party is as soulless and corrupt as the Democrats, the only reason I will likely be voting for Romney this fall is that Obama cannot be allowed to place another justice on the SCOTUS. With Romney we have a chance of getting a conservative justice. At this point, both congress and the white house are enemies of the people and the republic. The SCOTUS is the last hope we have of keeping the other two branches from going whole hog into tyranny. For me at least, the only reason the Republican Party is even getting a chance is that they are more pliable to the kind of internal reforms that will make it possible to change the party to one that actually respects individual liberty as opposed to just paying lip service.1 point

I think that were most people screw up on this subject is not understanding what a marriage is from the perspective of both sides. Christianity defines a marriage as a covenant between a man, a woman, and God. That has changed from polygamy in early times, but marriage pre-dates the government's definition and involvement. The US Government - which includes most states - defines a marriage as a legal contract between two parities, and for the most part became required after the civil war. The problem is they use the same word. Since the courts like to use legal precedence in these matters then it's the government who's screwed up here by using the word "marriage": therefore, if they want to replace the word "marriage" with "civil unions" then I have no problem with it. I do have a problem with them trying to define a Christian belief. If homosexuals and atheists want civil unions then more power to them. Just don't demand that we call it a marriage.1 point

Moped - Thank Spots. It was his idea, I'm just glad to tag along and flap my lips a little about my favorite hobby. Spots - That'll work just fine. And if we can come up with a couple of screw-in eye bolts and some rope, I've got a "target hanger" that I made several years ago (when I was throwing & teaching all the time) that I can bring along. If I can find a pic, I'll post it. ...TS... Here it is! It's what I was throwing at in this pic from the Hays Daily News several years ago. I was at living history event at old Fort Hays and took a few minutes to show off for the public - Don't worry, I've gotten older and more handsome since then. LOL1 point

We, those of us that want to get this country “back on trackâ€, are easily split. You see it on this forum all the time. Those that don’t care about anyone but themselves are the largest voting group. The worse the economy gets, the larger that group gets.1 point

Well, I try and stay out of these discussions... but, I'll point it out again... Carrying a firearm to protect yourself is the key issue here... don't discourage people from carrying just because they can't easily conceal the firearm, OC is better than NC (no carry). There are a lot of people who for whatever reason can't easily conceal... I'm one of those people, my business dress does not lend itself to concealed carry of my Glock 19 even more so during summer months. I'm wearing slacks and a dress shirt tucked in... it's the middle of the day and I need to run into the gas station to pick up something... I'm better off leaving my pistol in the vehicle than on my person just because it's not concealed? Hogwosh More importantly, what does it matter? It doesn't hurt me if somebody carries concealed, nor does it hurt me if somebody carries openly... At the end of the day they're a law abiding citizen who is old enough to know better. It's not my place to judge them on what works best for their personal safety.1 point

Did you make this same statement when everyone was in a uproar about the lying king being a Muslim?1 point
-
You can say that, but you would be wrong. I certainly don't want to turn this into a religious debate, but how did you come to that conclusion? Christianity is almost 600 years older than Islam. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, wasn't even born until the 6th century.1 point
