  1. We were asked to leave our weapons locked in our cars during the classroom portion of the test. Instructor had a revolver and semi auto to go over basic structure and function of each.

  3. It just dawned on me when I saw the title of this thread pop up again. "Modest" and "1911" don't go together very well. There's not much modest about a 1911. Perhaps the thread title should be something more like "My awesome entry into the 1911 club". Awesome is still at the low end for a 1911. Other possibilities may include intimidating, astonishing, awe-inspiring, breathtaking, exalted, fearsome, formidable, overwhelming, mind-blowing, stunning, magnificent, wondrous, impressive, majestic, beautiful, wonderful, incredible, and amazing.

  4. Sounds tasty but I like cornbread and milk too well to go putting cheese, etc. into my cornbread very often. I do like me some fried cornbread with a good bowl of chili - and for that adding a little shredded cheese and maybe a handful or two of frozen 'niblet' corn to the batter take it to a whole, 'nother level. Nah, Lodge is like the Ruger or Glock of cast iron. Great stuff but nothing to get all snobbish about. The 'snobs' would at least go for Griswold.

  7. In my opinion, a lanyard would simply be one more thing that could potentially cause a problem at a very crucial moment.

  11. somewhere in TN, a legal driver hit or killed someone with there car. How many hundreds of times will someone run into someone else with their legally owned, legally licensed vehicle before worthless slobs at the tennessean or some other bed wetter demands that tight restrictions be put on car ownership?

  12. I buy a G19 magazine every time I go to a gunshow. You'll look up one day and be surprised. Trying to buy everything at once is painful.

  13. I'd like to do that, but it doesn't work too well. Before her I was into fast cars and not so much firearms, I ditched the fast cars and got a truck and started collecting firearms. That and she was in the garage throwing away some stuff when I pulled up, I couldn't do too much at that point. The peace isn't broken too bad, she was just upset I didn't talk it over with her before I got them. I told her why talk it over when I know your answer...she stopped talking after that. We're going to Opry Mills Saturday to make up for what I did.
