Obama could probably just flat out kill someone on tv during a press conference and nothing would be done to him on account of it. There are rules for us simple folk, and rules for his kind.2 points

This guy received much praise from law enforcement as well as local shoppers. http://www.abc4.com/content/news/top_stories/story/conceal-and-carry-stabbing-salt-lake-city-smiths/NDNrL1gxeE2rsRhrWCM9dQ.cspx1 point

Calling all Gals and Guys looking to improve their skills and survivability in a bad situation. You've spent a few hundred bucks for your sidearm, spent a few hundred bucks on ammo, why wouldn't you invest a few hundred bucks in yourself for training??? Randy Harris of Suarez International is coming to Knoxville 6/23 and 6/24 for the Close Range Gunfighting course. As the host, I want to get a good turnout so he will consider future courses in the Knoxville area. Internet research reveals the cost of professional training ranges between $200 - $300 / per day for these kind of in-depth courses, so the price is right. The added benefits: meet some TGO'ers in person, impress your friends next time you're at the range and increase your confidence / comfort level if you carry a weapon. I am pretty excited about the opportunity to participate in my first formal, semi-private, semi-custom training session, so I hope you'll seriously consider checking out the SI website for additional info on CRG and sign up.1 point

A more careful review before putting this into law? This subject was brought up last year. They have had two years to get it figured out & still can't get the hang of it. This has nothing to do with Florida or SYG laws. It has to do with the big bucks business dropped into lawmakers coffers. Harwell couldn't find the 2nd Amend. with Google, Ramsey just flat lied about his support, Haslam is grinning like a possum because he didn't have to deal with signing or vetoing it. This isn't eminent domain, this is about a person protecting their life to & from work vs some Liberals parking lot. Without the 2nd Amend., there would be no parking lot.1 point

I like how Sharpton was outraged when TM sussepnsion from school for drugs was reported. He was irate that someone would try to call into question TM's character without knowing the facts.1 point

Absolutley! Down with Mitt! Give us Barabas. ... Uh, Obama! Come on man. Romey's not the best choice compared to Reagan, but if you can't tell the difference between Romney and Obama then you don't need to leave the house.1 point

TICS goes down way too much. They should figure out a way to allow TN dealers to use NICS when this happens.1 point

Lest we overlook her part in this: rambling around in the woods, plucking oranges... while your mate is in those same woods, armed and hunting. Stupid awards for both.1 point

So, basically, when the election riots begin, there's a single point of gun control for the whole nation . . . the FBI in Holder's "Justice Department" just turns off the database that feeds the TICS equivalent in the various states. . . .1 point

I sell firearms. I am pretty good at it as well. I gotta say this, vent a little. There are customers who know nil about the industry, or firearms in general, they dont want to know. They only want something to protect, plink, play with. I try to fill the bill with their budget and needs. There are those who come in just to show how vastly knowledgable they are and how much overpriced your inventory is, cause Bobby Joes house of weapons has it listed in the Shotgun news for 200.00. Thats the going rate for everything from Glocks to Hi-Points. I just grin and nod and show them every gun in the case they want to see. I know they are not going to buy so why do I do this? Other customers see what we are doing, if someone watches me spend this much time with the tire kicker, they will start asking questions or wanting to see what said tire kicker is looking at. Bottom line NO MATTER WHO IT IS! They all deserve my attention and so I make lots of sales. No B.S. just good customer service. The guy who just sits behind the counter or ignores the customer...I Love him cause they leave his shop and buy guns from me.1 point

Ok. Few thoughts on this. What they tell the dispatcher when they call has no basis in truth. It usually ends up being something like: “There’s a man with a gun running around the grocery store scaring people!†If you were a cop, how would you respond to that call? I know I would respond with lights and siren and have my gun out on arrival. As soon as I saw the person described, I would put him on the ground at gunpoint and handcuff him until I could figure out what’s going on. That sounds great and all but this seems like a dispatcher that needs to find a new job. Most dispatchers ask tons of questions about the reported MWAG call. They are capable of discerning the difference between an over zealous call and an honest to God problem with a few simple question. So if cop shows up and goes all gungho then that's the cops fault. Other than that, there was some good points brought out in the article. Specially if you're wanting to be a super safe nanny. I think the main reason cops get shot with their own gun is the criminal thinks to himself "no way your taking me alive coppers!". Citizens can't send bad guys to jail and ruin their fun time. Why would they want a confrontation that will draw attention and possibly get them shot when they can just break into 5 houses and get more guns than they can carry? Only nutjob, cracked out space cadets would do something as brazen as try to steal my gun while at walmart. Possible? Sure is. Just as possible as me getting hit by a meteorite while I'm leaving for work tomorrow. Am I going to stay home and change over a maybe? Nope. I open carry everywhere I legally can. Have been for over 3 years now. Cops never bother me. No one has gone crazy and confronted me about it. I have had the pleasure of schooling countless people who, believe it or not didn't even know you were allowed to carry a gun by law. I open carry in the liberal heartland (wholefoods, demos, etc) and I have had the best of conversations about it. They maybe liberals, but a liberal is nothing more than someone who is void of facts. Most of them don't even realize anything more than their 2 foot radius around themselves to care much about what I'm doing or wearing. I don't mind the risks of OC'ing as long as I can educate and be a good example of the positive side of gun ownership.1 point

Let them riot. I don't really care as long as this guy gets a fair trial. I do not know the facts, that's what the jury will decide. If this guy gets set free due to a fair trial and there is rioting, they better hope they don't do it in my neighborhood. That dog won't hunt.1 point

x2. If everyone had to cut a check to the .gov for their taxes, folks would hold them accountable for what they spend our money on. Tax withholding is the taxpayers' enemy.1 point

+1 I used to do a job that involved constant contact with dogs and their owners. Most are rational, responsible people, but some are complete idiots. They assume that their pets can do no wrong and can't have a vicious bone in them. But the sweetest lab can turn into Cujo when he thinks you don't belong there. I've been on the receiving end of it probably hundreds of times. The owner may not see that side of the dog, but the owner feeds the damn thing. That's fine if you are an intruder, but it's a problem if you're a FedEx guy or a meter reader. When I would kick a dog that had attacked me, a few owners would run outside cross-eyed and demand to know why I had provoked their pets. When I tried to explain that I didn't provoke the animal, I was the bad guy. A couple of these encounters would have ended with a shot dog had I had a gun at the time, all because the owners had failed to control their animals. I'm not defending the cop in the video, but honestly, we can't see what happened or what he faced. I hear a dog bark two or three times and the cop says something like "Get your dog." I faced this situation many times and it sometimes ended with a swift kick to a dog's rib cage. Could he have simply kicked the dog or used pepper spray? Possibly, but cops face unknown situations that non-cops don't face, much less understand.1 point

I disagree, we would all be better off if we had to write a check at the end of the year for not only our sales tax but our income tax.1 point

Wouldn't that be a vote of NO confidence? I'd like to make a vote of no confidence in the leadership of every politician that is currently consuming oxygen.1 point

That's where this issue has been mis-framed all along: its not "prop vs 2A", but rather "prop vs prop". At what point does a lot owner's prop rights extend into the interior of your personal vehicle and dictate the content thereof, particularly when such content is otherwise legally owned and transported in same vehicle? If the lot owner doesn't like rap music, he can certainly prevent you from playing it audibly - but can he also prevent you from having a Snoop Dogg CD stuck inside the glove box? Indeed, I believe a proper argument can be made that the current situation itself constitutes a violation of property owners rights - those of the vehicle owner.1 point

That's a nice sentiment but nah... People bristle up when they see guns. Even on LEO. I bristle up when I see guns. OC definitely sets the cause back. It creates a dialog that you don't want and mobilizes the opposition. "People are carrying guns around like it's the Old West...!" I'm happy to CC and also that I don't get in trouble if I accidentally OC. Best of both worlds. It also allows me to Open Carry when I am locking up my business at night if I choose.1 point
