  1. If Casey Anthony can walk free in Florida, I'm not sure Zimmerman has too much to worry about.

  3. I know this has been around for a while, but it's still one of the funniest things I've ever read online. Hope ya'll enjoy it! WARNING : ONLY Read This When You Are Able To LAUGH OUT LOUD I went to Home Depot recently while not being altogether sure that course of action was a wise one. You see, the previous evening I had prepared and consumed a massive quantity of my patented 'you're definitely going to sh*t yourself' road-kill chili. Tasty stuff, although hot to the point of being painful, which comes with a written guarantee from me that if you eat it, the next day both of your butt cheeks WILL fall off.. Here's the thing. I had awakened that morning, and even after two cups of coffee (and all of you know what I mean) nothing happened. No 'Watson's Movement'. Despite the chillies swimming their way through my intestinal tract, I was unable to create the usual morning symphony referred to by my dear wife as 'thunder and lightning'. Knowing that a time of reckoning HAD to come, yet not sure of just when, I bravely set off for Home Depot, my quest being paint and supplies to refinish the deck. Upon entering the store at first all seemed normal. I selected a cart and began pushing it about, dropping items in for purchase. It wasn't until I was at the opposite end of the store from the toilets that the pain hit me. Oh, don't look at me like you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm referring to that 'Uh -oh, oh sh*t, gotta go' pain that always seems to hit us at the wrong time. The thing is, this pain was different. The chillies from the night before were staging a revolt. In a mad rush for freedom they bullied their way through the small intestine, forcing their way into the large intestine, and before I could take one step in the direction of the toilets which would bring sweet relief, it happened... The chillies fired a warning shot. There I stood, alone in the paint and stain section, suddenly enveloped in a toxic cloud the likes of which has never before been recorded. I was afraid to move for fear that more of this vile odor might escape me. Slowly, oh so slowly, the pressure seemed to leave the lower part of my body, and I began to move up the aisle and out of it, just as a red aproned clerk turned the corner and asked if I needed any help. I don't know what made me do it, but I stopped to see what his reaction would be to the toxic non-visible fog that refused to dissipate.. Have you ever been torn in two different directions emotionally? Here's what I mean, and I'm sure some of you at least will be able to relate: I could've warned that poor clerk, but I didn't. I simply watched as he walked into an invisible, and apparently indestructible, wall of odor so terrible that all he could do before gathering his senses and running, was to stand there blinking and waving his arms about his head as though trying to ward off angry bees. This, of course, made me feel terrible, but then it made me laugh. ........BIG mistake!!!!! Here's the thing: When you laugh, it's hard to keep things 'clamped down' if you know what I mean. With each new guffaw an explosive issue burst forth from my nether region. Some were so loud and echoing that I was later told a few folks in other aisles had ducked, fearing that someone was robbing the store and firing off a shotgun. Suddenly things were no longer funny.. 'It' was coming, and I raced off through the store towards the toilet, laying down a cloud the whole way, praying that I'd make it before the grand explosion took place. Luck was on my side. Just in the nick of time I got to the john, began the inevitable 'Oh my God', floating above the toilet seat because my ass is burning SO BAD, purging. One poor fellow walked in while I was in the middle of what is the true meaning of 'Shock and Awe'.. He made a gagging sound, and disgustedly said, 'Son-of-a-b*itch!, did it smell that bad when you ate it?', then quickly left. Once finished, I left the restroom, reacquired my partially filled cart intending to carry on with my shopping when a store employee approached me and said, 'Sir, you might want to step outside for a few minutes. It appears some prankster set off a stink bomb in the store. The manager is going to run the vent fans on high for a minute or two which ought to take care of the problem.' My smirking of course set me off again, causing residual gases to escape me. The employee took one sniff, jumped back pulling his shirt up to cover his nose and, pointing at me in an accusing manner shouted, 'IT'S YOU!', then ran off returning moments later with the manager. I was unceremoniously escorted from the premises and asked none too kindly not to return. Home again without my supplies, I realized that there was nothing to eat but leftover chili, so I consumed two more bowls. The next day I went to shop at Lowes. I can't say anymore about that because we are in court over the whole matter. B*stards claim they're going to have to repaint the store.

  4. As far the UN and their plan to destroy this country I say It's a crock. I wouldn't be surprised to see NATO boots on our soil one day, but hey! they bleed just like everyone else. AND the idiots wear blue helmets. Even my worsening eyes will have no trouble with acquisition. They aren't stupid enough to come here anytime soon. Even IF they win, the price they would pay would be dearly. Think of what the afghans did to the soviets. Multiply by a minimum of ten. If they want to pay that price, bring it. This country doesn't need outside influences to be destroyed. We're doing a darn fine job ourselves.

  8. As far as I'm concerned, it should all come down to when the law (if any) was first broken, and by whom. We can sit back and argue what we would have and/or wouldn't have done in such a situation, but the only thing that should matter is if Zimmerman actually broke any laws, and if so, when. He was charged with a crime, but I'm still unsure which law the prosecutor believes she can prove Zimmerman actually broke. In the end, I don't think the prosecution has enough evidence to get a conviction. I believe the only witnesses who could possibly give an accurate account of what went down and how are Martin and Zimmerman; and Martin is unable to testify at the moment. I don't believe there is another witness out there that can honestly say, without reasonable doubt, how things went down that night. I truly believe that the prosecutor decided to arrest Zimmerman because she felt like she had no choice. If they hadn't, the entire state of Florida would be in ruins, along with God knows how many other parts of the country. This way, at least they can say they tried, but the jury had the final say.

  9. Just got this email from Curtis Halford: Mr. Morris, I support this bill. I would contact the sponsor Mike Faulk in the Senateand make sure he puts the bill on notice for the Calender. It should then move to the Senate floor. We are moving it in the House. Thanks, Rep. Halford

  10. While I don't agree with the charges either, I do have to wonder what I would have done if I was being followed by a dark truck at night, then all of a sudden a guy starts following me on foot. Like stated above, hindsight is 20/20, but I think this all could have been avoided or had a different outcome if the words, "Neighborhood watch, identify yourself!" had been spoken in the first place. Sad story all around.

  11. I never said there wasn't a confrontation. But there are conflicting stories on what actually happened and who went up to who first. One of the stories I've heard was that GZ followed him a little and then walked away with TM then coming after him to confront. The other stories was that GZ went up to them and they had words. Who knows what's accurate with how the media has screwed with the truth multiple times...or just ignored any facts.

  12. clearly they confronted, else TM would be alive. He got out of the car and approached to within fist distance of a potentially dangerous person. He could have been shot, stabbed, or whatever at this point. Gun was probably not out and ready. The suspect was not harming anyone physically, so there was no reason to do this. It was stupid cubed, no matter how you slice it. There was simply no reason for him to get out of his car or get anywhere near this potential danger --- no one to rescue, no useful outcome to be had. I call that a huge lapse of judgement. I would not get within 25 yards of such a person, and unless a third party became victim to the person, you could not pay me enough to get out of my car. I just cannot understand what he was thinking to do that.

  13. I'm convinced of two things after watching the bail hearing. Zimmerman has a VERY good lawyer, and the judge is good too. This won't be easy for the prosecution at all.

  14. Did any police report or Zimmerman himself say that he actually confronted Martin? I've seen conflicting stories from the media that Zimmerman actually confronted him first, or that Zimmerman was walking away and Martin came up and confronted him. I will disagree with what seems like most of vocal america that following martin was wrong. I've followed people on my road quite a few times (dead end street) because I wasn't sure why they were down my street (used to have an occasional problem when I was younger.) Even confronting him with a simple question of, "what are you doing around here" or "where do you live" seems very reasonable in a gated community (heck, most any where.) The only thing I would have done different is use my phone or ipod to get an audio recording before I would talk to someone.

  16. the judge trusts him to show for trial, not related to the charges. Bail is based off the flight risk, and you are talking about a guy who came out of hiding to turn himself in once already, someone with no record nor particular criminal bent to his behavior. No sense in a multimillion bail for this man.

  17. There are other women that he was stalking as well. Wise should have gotten the death penalty. He is a cunning killer who has spent the past several years in prison trying to present himself as crazy. That got him 2nd degree instead of 1st degree murder. Now, he will spend the nexrt 5-6 years trying to present the image of the perfect prisoner so he can get out on parole for good behaviour. This man should never see another day of freedom!

  18. What do you want to do with it? Plinking, defense, target shooting, hunting? The intended use wil help narrow down your choices. For home defense and cheap plinking, you might consider a .38/.357 lever-action rifle. The .38 target loads are pretty cheap ($175/1000), easy and cheap to reload, and very accurate. The full-power .357 develops about 150fps more from a rifle barrel than a pistol. It makes a nice small-game or home defense weapon. For 8mm Mauser ammo, here are some inexpensive choices: Reloadable: http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=AP8FMJ198&name=Prvi+Partizan+PPU+8mm+Mauser+FMJ+198grn+20rd+Box&groupid=42 http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2SB33181-1.html http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/8mm-mauser/prvi-8mm-mauser-198gr-fmj-bt-box-of-20.html Surplus: http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/630rds-8mm-mauser-yugo-military-m75-sniper-190gr-fmj-ammo/manufacturers_id/12?osCsid=ant05cri88b9k5rg7m4s25asc2 http://www.southernohiogun.com/ammo-mags-more/ammunition/8mm-yugo-15rd-box-on-5rd-stripper-clip.html

  20. Howdy all. First post here. I could not resist any longer. I have been reading this forum for a while and decided to finally join. Ok, to start out. With all the USPS bashing posts in this forum, I can't be the only gun lovin' fanatic to work for USPS who is willing to open his mouth. There seems to be a TON of misconceptions about the USPS and its operations. Some of it is true and some of it is not. I don't even know where to start with the information, and not really going to try. Simply put, USPS does not receive one dollar of tax money and hasn't for over 30 years. All revenue comes from stamps and packages. The USPS is a company just like Walmart, FEDEX or any other companies out there. Unfortunately, we are still "controlled" by Uncle Sam. Similar to the way Uncle Sam doesn't run the airline business but it basically does with all it's stupid regulations, FAA and rules. In the '80-'90's the USPS was making money hand over fist and had a yearly surplus of money. Now we all know that profit in a company is bad. USPS tries to break even to not show a profit. Along comes Uncle Sam and they see that we are making money and decides they wanted it so they stopped all of our spending that we were doing to improve the company (vehicle replacement, computers, sorting machines, so on and so on). So they imposed the mandatory front loading of the retirement account (aka general fund) that no other company in the country has to do...just USPS, which you guessed it, is controlled by none other than Uncle Sam. So, using the power the Constitution gives congress to maintain a "post office/routes" they bossed us into doing stupid things that are now biting us in the rear. Our payroll for one month alone, just salary not including benefits, is almost 5 billion dollars. "The Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service sets policy, procedure, and postal rates for services rendered, and has a similar role to a corporate board of directors. Of the eleven members of the Board, nine are appointed by the President and confirmed by the United States Senate (see 39 U.S.C. § 202). The nine appointed members then select the United States Postmaster General, who serves as the board's tenth member, and who oversees the day to day activities of the service as Chief Executive Officer (see 39 U.S.C. §§ 202–203). The ten-member board then nominates a Deputy Postmaster General, who acts as Chief Operating Officer, to the eleventh and last remaining open seat. The USPS is often mistaken for a government-owned corporation (e.g., Amtrak) because it operates much like a business, but as noted above, it is legally defined as an "independent establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States" <------- (what in the world does that sentance mean? How can you be an independent establishment and still be controlled by the government?), (39 U.S.C. § 201) as it is controlled by Presidential appointees and the Postmaster General. As a quasi-governmental agency, it has many special privileges, including sovereign immunity, eminent domain powers, powers to negotiate postal treaties with foreign nations, and an exclusive legal right to deliver first-class and third-class mail. Indeed, in 2004, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a unanimous decision that the USPS was not a government-owned corporation, and therefore could not be sued under the Sherman Antitrust Act. That's why USPS employee's are labeled government employees, but we really aren't......or are we? It's very confusing. To make matters worse, the Office of Inspector General has taken over most of our fiscal, auditory, contracting and postal inspector operations. Let me tell you, you want something screwed up, allow the OIG to be involved. They took over our charge accounts, credit card for fuel and parts, retirement, disability, fraud, customer service...just about anything you can think of. Not to mention the worthless Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) crap we had to conform too. I'm not EVEN going to get started on how bad the 3 different unions are messing the company up also. As far as the Postmaster in Smyrna doing what he did to this OP, that disgusts me. If anyone in here has an issue with a postmaster, supervisor or manager please post it. Not sure what I can do, but you’d be surprised what the right word in the right ear can do. Management is on edge and they are eliminationg jobs left and right at the company level so a complaint in the right place might be the one that tips the scales. Short story. A fellow employee of mine that happens to be a supervisor of a post office in Nashville, but does not live in Nashville, tried to mail a rifle at the post office he lives near. He had the exact same argument with the clerk at the counter that this OP had. Then, he argued with the supervisor of that post office until that supervisor finally looked up the regs and realized he was wrong. Even after finding out that he was wrong, he still didn't want to ship the rifle. What it boils down to is this...OIG has everyone scared silly for their jobs. No one knows the regulations and they are beating the "suspect everything and everyone as a bad guy" into us almost daily that they are afraid that even if they follow the regulations regarding firearms, the OIG doesn't know the regulations about firearms either and there is no explaining it to OIG because they know everything. One more thing to think about also. There is approximately 625,000 people living in Nashville alone. Every day, a postal worker comes to their house. For the most part, the complaints are miniscule considering the scope of the job that is done. A little over 380,000 USPS employees visit 100,000,000+ households everyday (except Sunday) so you are going to hear about the bad stuff. In reality the percentage of bad is extremely low in the scale of the job that we do and the people we interact with. If Uncle Sam would just get out of our way, even with the unions still causing trouble, we could provide so much more proficient and enjoyable service for everyone. For the record, USPS ships more packages a year than FEDEX. Plus, you would be surprised at how many of us postal workers are closet gun freaks and conservative minded, patriotic Americans. In my office alone, 75% of us have carry permits (including the ladies). Our clerk the other day just shot her first AR and is in love. "On December 5, 2011 the USPS announced it will close more than half of its mail processing centers, eliminate 28,000 jobs and end overnight delivery of first-class mail. This will close down 252 of its 461 processing centers. On December 13, 2011 the USPS agreed to delay the closing of 252 mail processing centers as well as 3,700 local post offices until mid-May 2012." This statement is true, but mainly to scare Congress into letting us do our own thing. If the People get upset about losing their local post office, then they will contact their senators. (Hopefully). Sorry for being all over the road in this post. I'm just tired of a few bad apples giving the majority of us USPS workers a bad rap. The problem is the size of our company. 10% of bad apples is 40,000+ workers. Those 40,000 can affect a lot of people in the community.

  30. If you'll print label and pay online ('Click 'n Ship), you just dump the thing on the end of the counter and out the door, no interaction required. You can do Priority with it, but not some other classes. If you have eBay seller account you can use PayPal to generate and pay any USPS class online and print the label. Again, notification to any carrier is only required if you are sending to a NON LICENSE HOLDER. - OS
