  2. Looks like the media still sucks. Everybody wants to profit from the Zimmerman trial. Interesting top post in the comments: Felipe Echeverri · Top Commenter · University of Florida School of Teaching and Learning http://www.gainesville.com/article/20120412/ARTICLES/120419865?p=1&tc=pg The untruthful title reads: 'Trayvon' shouted as group attacks Good Samaritan. Well: I was the only person there "the good samaritan" and I can tell you with nothing but candor: either the GPD or the Gainesville Sun made this up. No one shouted Trayvon. No one. In fact 5 people came to help me. All black. The white folks I was with...none of them showed up to do anything. So the story, instead of being about racial disharmony amongst Floridians could have been a story about racial harmony and community. One person stands for another and in turn many stand for that one. I am speaking with the Sun and with GPD to get to the bottom of this. If they don't fix it, then the same conviction that brought me to get this criminal will bring me to expose a race baiting reporter or police officer. I am more upset at this than I am at the punch I took from 'ole band aid head. Additionally: all of you that jumped on the "black, mob, evil, other, foreigner" mentality should feel ashamed. Truly ashamed. Your ignorance is the fuel to the fire that separates us from coming in contact with each other in a socially acceptable manner. You should close your mouth, reflect on your words and actions and try to foster humbleness in your heart. What idiot shoots another idiot over a purse? I'll tell you who: criminals do that. 3. "U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney vowed to gun owners on Friday he would reverse what he called the restrictive gun policies of President Barack Obama." what restrictions has Obama placed on us to date since he was elected POTUS? Have I gone brain dead and forgot something?

  4. My retort to Ramsey: With respect, you, (as in the Republican leadership), are over-complicating a simple idea. All you need do is pass a simple law stating that an employer cannot compel an employee into a search of their private vehicle for any reason. If there is probable cause that a crime has been committed then law enforcement officials would be the ones conducting the search; not an employer.

  7. Personally, i like the advertised weight. I think it will make the gun very shootable--unlike some kahr's and keltec's. And yes, i drank the M&P koolaid a long time ago--this is a biased opinion without laying hands on the previously mentioned product.....

  8. Gordon, no offense but that does seem like a hard question to answer. One SR-22 may last 10k rounds and another could last 40K. If you really plan on shooting that many rounds through the Ruger I'd say you got your moneys worth. When they say the Sig will last 10-15k, does that mean the gun just stops working at that point, or falls apart, or?

  9. Nobody who started collecting social security when it was enacted is alive today. Makes as much sense to criticize all the people who aren't yet collecting it for not putting up a fight about it, too. - OS

  10. i would recommend buying a whole gun from a reputable manufacturer. Then build one if you want another. You will at least have one rifle that works correctly.

  11. If I am flat on my back with an adversary sitting on me, pounding my face with his fists and bashing my head on the concrete, and if the adversary is struggling with me for my undrawn and now uncovered weapon, I am in fear of my life. I will shoot him before I lose consciousness and before he shoots me with my own gun. If this is the scenario, then there is no jury that will convict. If we have to go through all the play-acting of a trial to mollify everyone to get to this conclusion, I don't like it, but so be it. Upon acquittal, I would file criminal and civil charges against those who attacked me and my reputation in the media. I am not a public person, and therefore the libel & slander, and fear for my life, and loss of freedom, and loss of income that arises from maliciously edited 911 calls and the wanted dead or alive bounty statements would be actionable to the tune of millions of dollars. There are plenty of lawyers that would be perfectly willing and eager to take 30 percent of that business. Someone else can speculate upon a different scenario with different details; this one, I think, is relatively accurate in description and outcome. Time and a court trial will tell.

  13. I was a police dispatcher at the start of my law enforcement career (thankfully that job didn't last long before I moved on to patrol). Unless things have changed, dispatchers have no lawful authority to order a caller to do anything. In fact, they have so little autonomy, they are generally prohibited from giving any sort of legal advice or provide instructions that are outside of the scope of their training. For example, to give first aid instructions over the phone, the dispatcher must be specifically trained in "emergency medical dispatch" or a similar type of training. The reason for this is obvious. A dispatcher is not trained in the law and they aren't at the scene to see what's really going on. If they give bad info, they can be held responsible.

  20. That seems pretty typical at most auctions, especially when men are bidding. They tend to allow emotion to take over and need to prove their man-junk is bigger than the other bidders. I've seen this at just about every type of auction.
