  1. That is correct. This will be just the start of a long process of legal challenges, hearings, and depositions. Even if he is ultimately acquitted, does anyone think he got off without a hitch? This is something too many permit holders don't think about when they carry every day. If you shoot someone, you WILL end up in court at some point. That is exactly why it's important to know the law, keep a low profile, and don't even remotely think of reaching for your firearm except as an absolute last resort.

  2. "Let me tell you, the things that's about to happen, to these honkeys, these crackers, these pigs, these pink people, these ---- people. It has been long overdue. My prize right now this evening ... is gonna be the bounty, the arrest, dead or alive, for George Zimmerman. You feel me?" Two words: Bring it.

  3. When you don't beat LSU, you get angry. When you get angry, you buy a Harley. When you buy a Harley, you meet a 25 year old blonde female former college volleyball player. When you meet a 25 year old blonde female former college volleyball player, you invite her to ride on your Harley. When the 25 year old blonde female former college volleyball player rides on your Harley pressed against you, you end up in a roadside ditch. Don't end up in a roadside ditch.

  4. Gentlemen, Our best chance, and has been throughout this, is to have true conservatives gain control though the House and the Senate. While the President of the United States might be the most powerful single person in the world, the true power is through the Legislative branch of the government. This is what must be attacked full force this election year to control the forward path of the country.

  6. Stand your ground allows just that. You don't have to retreat from your attackers. I think having your head smashed into the sidewalk could eventually lead to your death. From all of the "leaked" reports, Zimmerman was attacked from behind. I think the charges are to try and keep a lid on the boiling pot of Sanford. Zimmerman probably won't go to trial within the next year, so this thing should die down by then.

  8. "Morals", at least those that translated to law, evolved long before any unified religions. They were natural outcomes of necessary behavior for groups of people to live together. Yep, what I just said. But though religions came to embrace them, societal mores came first as necessary behaviors. Concepts of marriage, murder, theft, property rights and the like were absolutely necessary for individuals to live together in groups; that's why they are relatively universal yet developed independently within cultures long before those cultures had any contact with each other. - OS

  9. Like I said earlier in this thread, his actions did not fit the justifiable use of deadly force requirements as laid out in Florida law. People tried to say I was wrong, but again, you simply can't shoot someone just because they physically attack you. It takes deadly force to justify the use of deadly force and someone punching you in the face just doesn't qualify unless there are very unusual circumstances. I told some people last night that I knew a charge was coming when the prosecutor opted not to send the case to the grand jury. No prosecutor is going to take the heat of this case by filing a no information on their own. For those curious, 2nd degree murder is under Florida State Statute 782.04(2): (2) The unlawful killing of a human being, when perpetrated by any act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind regardless of human life, although without any premeditated design to effect the death of any particular individual, is murder in the second degree and constitutes a felony of the first degree, punishable by imprisonment for a term of years not exceeding life or as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084. Now, as many of you already know, it's not uncommon for a prosecutor to charge as high as the evidence will allow with the hope of negotiating a plea bargain. My prediction is that this case will end either in a plea deal or a trial with a conviction for manslaughter. Of course, he is innocent until proven guilty, but I still say that his actions were not legal based on the evidence we know through the media.

  11. I see everyone states that carrying SOB has caused issues when falling on your pistol in that position. Really?? No matter where you carry, you run the risk of getting hurt when falling on your pistol no matter where it is. If you carry at 3 Oclock and fall on your side, your pistol could easily break your ribs. Carry at the 5ish position like me, and you risk the gun smackin your kidney's. No matter where you fall, IF you fall on your gun you could get hurt. Nuff said. Now.....I find the 5ish position to be the best for me and my set up. (G26 in IWB MTAC) No issues with all daily life and daily life activities. Much better position for me than all others for carry.

  12. Hey, I have a novel idea. How about lets seriously cut back on all of the nanny state cradle to grave bulls**t instead of raising taxes or creating new taxes, such as a national sales tax?

  14. I guess the guy in the Boston cap filled his diaper when he found out there was an EVIL GUN in the park! You would think the guy had fired off a few rounds the way this was reported. That reporter should go do a report from any Wally World about all of the guns that are there and especially those noob HCP holders doing their Wally Walk!

  17. Have you been to a class there? No? Glad you can comment on this with an educated view point... In all the classes I have taken out there; and I have taken most of their curriculum. There has never, EVER, been any sort of cavalier attitude towards safety. If you don't feel comfortable doing something you are never forced to do it. You are treated like an adult and are expected to handle yourself as one. If the gun you trust your life to will not take a 3-4' fall to the ground without damage you need to reconsider your options. 19. If Stewart is our only hope, this country is seriously screwed. That douche can't make up his mind on whether he is a comedian, political pundit, or journalist. I strongly suspect that the only reason he cares at all is because he can shoot his mouth off about it and get ratings.

  22. You certainly didn't offend me. This is what I was looking for. You are correct. I gave to the Bush campaign, and after seeing how that turned out. I've pretty much soured on the entire political process. I truly appreciate and respect your opinion. I hate to say it out loud, but I've just about resigned to the fact that this country is screwed. I sure dread the prospects of my childrens' futures. I guess I'm going to have to do some soul searching on this one. I feel the need and desire to do something about it, but I really don't know what to do. When something breaks, I'm accustomed to repairing it, or at least taking it to someone who will repair it for me. I just don't know where to take my country for repair. I certainly don't know how to repair it myself.

  23. The American election process has NEVER necessarily found the "best and brightest", at least not after the first few. America will not elect a president more conservative than Romney for a long long time, perhaps ever again, until there is a real breakdown of society including a significant die off of the citizenry. - OS

  26. This is what WE NEED to do. I know it is short notice and I really believe that the leadership does this on purpose. They know most of us have regular jobs and can not just drop stuff at the drop of a hat and travel to Nashville. BUT as many of us as can need to come to Nashville on Tuesday morning. We need buttons or something we can put on our clothes that simply says, "SAFE COMMUTE" and another that says, "NO FENCE". We need to be seen in strength outside Ramsey's office AND Harwell's office and IN the House committee meeting.

  27. Of the three pistols’ you’ve indicated my preference would be toward the G-19 due to its proven performance history and availability of aftermarket items. You can either go with a used Gen 2 or Gen 3 model or the more ergonomic Gen 4 model which would also be my preference. With the G-19 you have an excellent sight radius and a reduced height grip that is still hand sized which doesn’t require extensions. It is light weight, but still comfortable to shoot with +p or +p+ ammunition and also very comfortable to carry. Overall for the money invested I consider it an excellent pistol for a shooter to purchase.

  28. Big Berkey, stainless steel and has been in daily use for a bit over 3 years now. It is worth every penny we paid for it. I use the standard white ceramic filters and have the PF2 Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction units attached. we have a backup set of Black Berkey filters for a "just in case" scenario. We are on municipal water, but you would have to taste the Berkey filtered water to appreciate the amount of foul tasting and potentially harmful crap it filters out. In my GHB I carry a Sport Berkey. I talked with Jeff Gleason, the owner/operator of Directive21, a Berkey distributor, about the Sport Berkey filter system. it utilizes the Black Berkey elements and probably does a bit better job of filtering water than even our big Berkey. I gave one to a friend that went on a mission trip to Haiti last fall. She was impressed with how well it worked, and it obviously worked well as she returned safe and sound and in good health. I do have a sand filter setup, because being prepared is about options and redundancy. I haven't tried the one linked in the OP, but have read numerous positive reviews about them. I wouldn't mind adding a set to the "redundancy pile".

  29. rferizano@gmail.com lilmf2000@hotmail.com There are his email addresses to block.... this dope has been harassing me since last week. I have a Stoeger Cougar up for sale and he is rambling on to me about how I bought a gun made in a Muslim country, and of course, I am a Baptist B*stard Thief. It is quite amusing. He told me "You are charging too much for that Turkish piece of crap you Baptist Thief" and replied back "Funny, I get the same comment from the guys when I am pimping out your mother." That got him riled up.
