  1. Had to run a few errands yesterday, the first being stop by the bank ATM to get a couple hundred in cash, then to the court house and get my license plate stickers, etc. etc. Knowing I was going to the court house, I removed my 1911 from my holster and placed it in the console as I was leaving home and I would reholster after I departed the court house. Anyway, as I pulled up to the Regions bank ATM there was one vehicle in front of me taking their good ole time, then another vehicle pulled up behind me. On a side note, this bank has been robbed twice in the last couple of years. Sitting there I started to think about another ATM robbery at a different bank on the other side of town a couple months ago. I also was thinking ATM'S are prime spots to get robbed then... I noticed someone walking up from behind me and the vehicle behind me, didn't see where he originated from. This guy was shabby looking, unshaven and wearing a hoody sweat shirt with the hood up (it was 65 degrees). It was a beautiful sunny morning, the kind of morning where you let your guard down some and enjoy the weather. It's about 9 A.M., the bank's open, people everywhere are going about their business, all is normal. The ATM drive through is located on the very outside lane of the drive through. This guy walks over to a concrete island about 7 yards from the ATM machine and directly across from it. He's just standing there intently watching the person in front of me with both his hands in his sweat shirt pockets. I'm getting an uneasy feeling in my gut. Finally, the vehicle in front of me pulls out and I'm thinking about driving around and coming back later, as this guy doesn't look right. I'm in a little hurry as I have allot to do today so I open up the top of my console hoping I'm just a little paranoid and drive into the tight ATM lane. I'm eye balling this dude now and then, as I insert my card and punch all the buttons. It's hard to conduct a transaction and watch someone 180 degrees away in a car. He's there eye balling me with interest, just standing there still with his hands in his pockets and head slightly bowed down. I get my cash and leave. Nothing happened and I bought the local paper to see if anything did after I left. Just one of those feelings and things that doesn't happen much to me that invoked a little more situational awareness. Just thought I would share an experience.

  3. We can't have our cake and eat it too. There is nothing forcing anyone to go onto someone else's property. The Constitution says the .gov can not subvert your God given rights, it does not apply to individuals.

  5. It would seem that bringing your property within the confines of another persons property makes you a guest. By bringing anything undesirable to the property owner, who's property you have encroached upon, you are subject to being removed via trespassing no? My pants are my property, so should I be allowed to carry a gun in my pocket into said workplace? If the rules of the other parties private property are disagreeable to you, then go elsewhere for employment, services, housing, etc. on a side note: The county owns your land. Try not paying property taxes and see what happens.

  6. Because I doubt the company is against guns per se; they are against the liability. I believe the company should either be 100% liable for what happens to their employees and customers, or they are not liable and the onus is on the employee/customer for their safety.

  7. Castle Doctrine in Texas applies to your home, your vehicle, and any place you have a right to be. It's working out well for Texas, and Texans are as rabid about property rights as anyone. I'm thinking our legislators would do well to steal legislative language from Texas, and they'd be welcome to it.

  8. Only had that experience once when I workred nights, 3 AM at an Exxon in Madison. I was the at one end of the pumps and a car pulls up at the other end. Two guys got out looking around, split up and started walking towards me. One guy was circling the pumps getting on my 9 and the other guy was slowly heading straight to me. We made eye contact and he stopped so we just stared at each other for a few seconds as I bladed myslef and rested my hand on the grip of my holstered gun casually. He finally turned around and they both got in the car and left. I finished pumping my gas and quickly got in the car locked the doors and left!

  9. Could be from an oversized chamber on the gun. I have read that a lot of 45LC chambers are cut very generous. Resize it and keep shooting it. If it starts to crack, get rid of it. Your load of Titegroup is a pretty stout starting load for a 45LC. The book shows that is about 950fps. What gun are you shooting it in?

  10. There is no “Mexican standoffâ€, and you don’t have to let them search your car now. The only way they would need to search your car would be if they called you in and ask if you had a gun in your car and you either lied or refused to answer. If they want to get rid of you they don’t need to find a gun; they just let you go; they don’t have to give a reason. If they want to keep you, they tell you to leave the gun at home and don’t bring it back on their property or you will be fired; it’s then up to you. Is this even an issue? I’m sure there are cases of employers searching vehicles in suspected theft cases; are there any cases of an employer searching a vehicle for a gun. I would bet that the only cases of someone being fired for having a gun (if there are any), are cases where they had the gun out and someone saw it or they told someone at work they have a gun in their car. These bills are because some people that work for big companies like Nissan and FedEx that don’t like their “No guns in the workplace policiesâ€. But unless you are in a union or have an employment contract you have no protection even with this legislation. Pass legislation that makes Tennessee the 5th state to recognize the right of the people to bear arms. It still won’t keep an employer from having a no guns policy, but it will give someone a chance in court. Right now carrying a gun in this state is a crime and I believe even if this “parking lot†legislation is passed it will be defeated in court the first time it is tested.

  11. To be fair the title of topic derailed the thread from the start.

  12. Send it to Iowa and let Volquartsen accurize it. I sent my Mark III Hunter to them and it came back a Mark II with a 2.5lb trigger that is awesome. $45 plus S&H for the accurizing. They did a few more things for me so mine cost a little more. Call them, they have excellent customer service.

  13. I couldn't have said it better. I seriously believe that Glocks in general are the AK's of the handgun world......and yes, I own 2 G19's and 2 G26's. I personally like my semi- pistols like my revolvers. NO external safteys'. I've kept my finger off the trigger since I was 6ish and I intend to continue to do just that until I'm in the correct, legal, and/or safe position to pull it.......
