  1. I can say this to all of those planning on bugging out to the hills. I will defend what is mine, including land, from any squatters or looters. After all if you show up and try to take what isn't yours you are a thief. I may have more than I need to survive but I will not share any of it with complete strangers. I have made preparations to ensure my survivability and I would be a fool to give any of it up to complete strangers. And what makes the average person think they are going to make it ouf of a population center before 50% of the other people leaving the cities clog the roadways? What is going to happen is the highways are going to clog like Rita/ Katrina leaving leaving them stranded and with the option of walking to the "hills" or back to the cities. The average person is going to have an easier time surviving in the city than in the "hills". The city are easier to defend, heat and survive in for the average person used to living in the city. People have this grand illusion that they are going to be able to find virgin land to live off of. Look around, how much public land do you see? And of that how much is going to be free for the taking, not much if any, by the time they make it? With that being said a Ruger 22/45 with a PacLite upper is very lightweight and accurate enough to hunt with. Or get a Keltec PMR-30 for something even lighter with a little more firepower. Dolomite

  2. this is not a stage but was a the Masters a year or2 ago, funny but true. we loaded the shooting bags and mags etc. Afterwards i said " i am going to put the guns in the car", well what i really did was put the shooting bags in the car. So when we got to Hoover, AL the wife says "where is my gun?" i said "what did you do with it?" she said "that i said i was putting the guns in the car." i did not know she had not put it in her bag. Sooo she shot the match with her carry gun a EMP. And was not a happy camper for the first hour or 2 later she asked why i was telling everyone, and my reply was the more who know about it the better my chances are of waking up tommorrow. a true story. Damn spelling and punctuation police!

  3. It looks like it should be a fun match, even though an open shooter designed the stages....

  4. I have only seen a couple of episodes of this show. I don't understand why anyone would go on tv and advertise their preps. I saw an episode last night that was about a group of people who were home canning and growing most of their food, and they had a lot of it. One of the men said they refused to think about protecting their preps. He said when the roving bands showed up we will just show them how much food we have and offer them some to leave us alone. I hope that works out for them. Glenn

  5. I am doing my personal best to start a ammo shortage, well short for sale, not short for possession of.

  6. Of course I take the source with some hesitation but I also predict a run on guns & ammo this November that will make people long for '08-'09 when those things were so easy to get. It will also start long before then. Like now.

  7. The rumour is they were built by Sam Hoster in Gallatin. He is a Master Gunsmith and knows his way around a1911. This was told to me a while back. He is a great gunsmith and has done alot of work for me. He is really good with older firearms. His apprentice was Chad Kandros at Kandros Customs now. The ones I have held were very well made. But this was several years ago. Sam is in semi retirement from what I hear. It is said he was paid consultant on the new Remington 1911 R1 . I have heard this from reliable sources.

  8. From the article that Bert linked, above: So? A firearm secured in a locked vehicle is no more going to jump out and start shooting simply because the vehicle happens to be parked at a school, etc. than if it is parked anywhere else. Just because a person works at a school, government building, etc. doesn't make their lives worth any less nor does it make their right to be equipped to defend themselves during their commute any less valid or important.

  9. Ours is a s&w M&P something, slightly different model but all in all we have been well pleased. It is right on accurate up to 100 yards ( have not tried it much past that) using a variety of ammo, does not jam, well made and well put together. I do not think *I* could have built a better one from parts, if I had it would have cost more and probably had issues to work out. It is an excellent gun at a reasonable price.

  10. Av88tor, I must say, posting a "you're safe sucks" video after he bought it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. You could have offered it as, 'here is some info to help keep your safe from being broken into'. The way it came across seems spiteful that it's not the company you'd recommend. Makes me not want to buy a safe from you just out of principle. That and the fact that you and Safes argue in every safe thread.

  11. Good. Whether he was justified or not, sometimes people react poorly when being victimized by scum. He's a law abiding citizen with no record; glad to see this work out for him.

  13. AND, even if it did turn around after years or decades, the SCOTUS Judges rarely if ever overturn a ruling by a previous court. So any rulings that a left leaning court ruled on would likely remain forever.

  14. In my young life so far, one thing I have noticed is that the people that flap their lips more about making money are more likely to just be full of ####. If this effin' yankee knew a damn thing about making money, he would know the quickest way to make money is to charge other people to tell them how to make money. Think money making books and that kind of crap. This dude reminds me of that damn european guy that was on here a while back. By the way, I'll say it, you're full of #### about your baseball cards. I assume that next you're going to tell us you sold the bubble gum for another $5k and that was just for the used stuff. What a dumbass...

  15. Yeah...Reagan didn't win the nomination on his first run but yes, in 1980 he had no problems. In fact this is interesting... And, fortunately or unfortunately, I don't have to read history books about it because I lived it...voting for Ronald Reagan twice was an honor but more importantly, it was great to fell GREAT about the United States and feel great about being an AMERICAN again - Ronald Reagan made us believe all the great things they taught us in school about our country (and which unfortunately they don't seem to teach any more). I don't mean to imply that RR was perfect but unless you lived through the Nixon then the Ford then the Carter years you just cannot know what it was like.

  18. I agree with mike that he shouldn't have pulled the trigger. A fleeing burglar cannot be shot. You just have to let him go. But I also agree with the OP, the story makes my blood pressure rise as well. They seized his guns and he faces up to 7 years in prison. At the most it should be a simple misdemeanor. People are far more reckless with their cars on a regular basis with no such recourse.

  19. Funny how folks keep saying "a vote for (insert name other than traditional 'big-government / alienation of liberty' republican nominee) is a vote for Obama" instead of realizing it's precisely THAT attitude that causes us to be where we are - fear. Instead of doing what you know in your heart is right - voting for the candidate you think is the BEST solution - you continue to follow the party fear-mongering and buy it hook, line and sinker. You guys willing to vote for compromise need to wake up, not those of us who refuse to throw our votes away on the 'lesser of two evils'. The pretzel logic displayed by that mindset is puzzling, indeed... AFAIC, if Obama or Romney/Gingrich are the choice, we're doomed anyway.

  20. Sad part is that this happened in NH, which is a very gun friendly state. Somehow I think that the outcry that I am already seeing will embarrass the DA into not pressing charges.

  21. Our rights have been whittled away systematically over the last 60+ years no matter who was in office and now its come to the point where everyone will wake up and realise a vote for someone Like a Romney is the same thing as a Vote for Obama There is no difference they are both bought and paid for by huge players Like Goldman Sachs Please For the Love of god Wake Up!!!! have you ever heard of devide and conquer that is what the Republican/democrat partys are doing they want you to believe you have no choice "You do " quit voting for the same crap . Its simple the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different out come . If everyone who mimicked the mainstream media by saying Ron Paul cant win would actually vote For him he would win we are past the days of hold your breath and vote the last generation screwed everything up for my generation with that crap and now we are screwing the next generation with the same garbage . Your vote for "Who you are told to vote for is a wasted Vote" because you had a chance to change something for future generations but instead you opted to do what everyone else does so hey lets do what the media says and vote for the guy who lost to the guy who lost to obama then hope he wins wake up already . /rant

  27. I started to post about this the other day. No one seems to be using the "Vote post up/down" function. I think it's much better than the old "like" button. Now you get to show your malcontent as well as your approval.

  29. I ordered a 53 from Aim last week for $150, and it arrived last night. They're listed as out of stock today. Mine is in very rough shape. It's closer to fair condition than good. The blueing is mostly gone, and the stock looks like it doubled as a club. There are many chunks taken out of the wood, and someone began carving a word in it. The barrel was loose, but then I noticed it was only because someone has partially loosened a retaining clip. So I was thinking I had made a bum purchase. Then I noticed the serial numbers match. So I've decided I did alright after all. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
