  1. The girl behind the counter at starbucks today noticed the NRA cap I was wearing and told me her husband had recently been stopped as he accidentally walked in a bank with his pistol in view. I replied he should switch to First Tennessee which didn't have an antigun policy as I gave her a 2 dollar bill.

  2. Like BK says, its only racism if it is a white guy doing it. Freaking Barack Obama is not any blacker than he is white. And him being half white does not make him a pathetic president anymore than being half black does. He is pathetic because he is in over his head, has little to no practical experience at anything worthwhile and has never had to earn a living.

  3. IMO State legislators and college administrators are responsible for the latest in a series of rapes on the Vanderbilt campus. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120211/NEWS03/120211017?fb_comment_id=fbc_10150601706107458_21503455_10150609203732458 The police have since caught a suspect -- big whoop! -- of course, after the woman was raped. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20120213/NEWS03/302130031/Weekend-attacks-women-net-arrest-Vanderbilt-case If there were Campus Carry, even if there was Parking Lot carry in Tennessee, then the odds are this and other cases would not have happened. Criminals are stupid, but they are savvy enough to troll campus and hospital parking lots where they know their victims are unarmed. They don't frequent city parking lots as much, because they know they'd could get blasted by an HCP carrier. Lay the blame for these attacks at the feet of the state legislators, the college administrators, the hospital administrators that allow this to happen.

  7. Something like this, perhaps? "DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND ORDINANCE dissolving the federal relations between the State of Tennessee and the United States of America. First. We, the people of the State of Tennessee, waiving any expression of opinion as to the abstract doctrine of secession, but asserting the right, as a free and independent people, to alter, reform, or abolish our form of government in such manner as we think proper, do ordain and declare that all the laws and ordinances by which the State of Tennessee became a member of the Federal Union of the United States of America are hereby abrogated and annulled, and that all the rights, functions, and powers which by any of said laws and ordinances were conveyed to the Government of the United States, and to absolve ourselves from all the obligations, restraints, and duties incurred thereto; and do hereby henceforth become a free, sovereign, and independent State." 8 June 1861 Didn't work out too well for old Tennessee but maybe we can talk Campfield into submitting it.

  9. Taking care of that lack of experience is what training is for and training should be encouraged. Unfortunately, a lot of "adults" who were raised around firearms need but don't get training. The way I see it, if you are old enough to die for your country you ought to be old enough to protect yourself from the thugs and two-legged piles of crap that walk around preying on people.

  10. If that were true, wouldn't students be irresponsible off campus as well? However, I don't remember hearing of a significant number of people being shot by 21-yr old college students off campus, if there were any at all.

  12. You are right, it is YOUR property and if you don't want me on it, you can tell me to leave and if I don't, you can have me charged with a crime. BUT there is a real differance between property where you live, your house, your yard, your driveway and property that is held out as being open to the public or a parking lot set aside for employees to park. The government already dictates a lot when it comes to property open to the public or employee parking. The government does not tell you that you have to provide a certain percentage of parking dedicated to handicap parking in front of your house. You don't have to have specified lighting, drainage and so on. So comparing an employee parking lot with your private property is like comparing apples and oranges. This one piece of legislation, if passed is not going to cripple anybody. The Castle Doctrine law passed a couple of years ago recognizes that my car is an extension of my "castle". What is in it, if legally possessed is nobody's business. Your employer either invites or directs you to park in a lot set aside for that purpose. What is in my car, as long as it stays in that car is both of no concern of his nor does it represent any imposition on him. Next, just where do the employers property rights end? With a no weapons policy, they can effectively extend their rights all the way to the front door of YOUR house. With the final destination of your commute being your job, you can not have the weapon from the time you leave the door of your house untill you return. Therefor your employer has disarmed you from the time you walk out your door untill you return hence imposing their property rights right into your driveway.

  13. I used to let situations such as these really upset me. Now, I couldn't care less. Why? As long as there are politicians willing to exploit our differences, whether it be race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, etc..., to strengthen their influence or power, it will never end. Therefore, I refuse to allow a segment of society, who is so shallow that they would vote for an individual solely based upon their skin tone or any of the aforementioned examples, to upset me. Getting worked up over an issue that I have absolutely no control in changing just isn't worth it.

  14. Many, many comments to make on this subject. But in the interest of brevity and keeping my blood pressure under control...I will just say...YES. That is the absolute truth. I am sick of how the liberal, downtrodden, and woe-is-me crowd always have an ethnic holiday, or celebrate particular historical and influencial figureheads to bring up. But just try to celebrate or teach about a non-african descendant and see where the loudest screams come from. And I am truly sick of the African-, Indian-, Chinese-, Italian-, Russian-, etc-American tags. I know I'm behind politiclly, culturally, and several other ways, but I'm with John Wayne...I thought we were all just Americans. But I guess that's just not diverse enough these days.

  17. Brady nut by your own admission. This is how they get in man, they get "greater good" ideas in your head. Once they're in, you can't get them out. You don't see a NEED for high capacity so you would set yourself against it? You would probably support national Id's and a national gun owners license too yeah? I wipe crap like this off my shoes before I go in at night. No guns in bars???? That's the same filthy hippy rhetoric the Brady camp spews everyday. Like some permit holder is going to belly up to the bar and get hammered like the old west. Churches are private and as long as the CHURCH [not you or any law making body] says it's cool, it's just like any business that welcomes permits or forbids it with proper posting. How are you going to get a stronger background check??? Go back to waiting periods?? AND gun show loop holes huh? There IS NO GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE!! When will you people get that in you thick head. It's no different at a gunshow than in your own living room. If two law abiding citizens with no priors want to sell/buy a gun to/from one another, it is perfectly legal. SO, that would mean you want to do away with private sales? Well, I'm one who's willing to fight about that. Good Day True Grit, do some soul searching, your priorities are misaligned.

  18. I have both and love them both. Under these circumstances, Glocks!

  19. I own both and would definitley choose Glock. I can take it apart without looking at my manual. The 1911 is awesome, but I am just faster in all aspects with my Glock.

  23. We don't always get what we want. I can hear the drums in the distance. People will choose 1911's over Glocks for many reasons. *It's all they know, and don't want to know any better *They're convinced JMB was something supernatural and to be worshipped. *They're convinced the .45 will hit a man in the hand and knock him to the ground *They think they are prettier than a Glock......Okay, they win that one. *They think on paper accuracy is equal to practical accuracy therefore the 1911 is much more accurate than a Glock *I've even met a couple who think they are more reliable. *They put too much faith in "You get what you pay for" therefore a $3500 MUST be better than a $600 gun.

  24. 1) You're NOT going to be attacked by a pig. Ever. 2) They're really NOT the armored killing machines the TV makes them out to be & they're no harder to kill than a deer. 3) Anything much bigger than a .22 will kill a pig. (Actually, in Texas, more hogs are killed with .22s than any other caliber) Any pistol/rifle caliber carbine will do. 4)The good thing about pigs is that you don't ever need to shoot beyond 40yds. If I can kill them with an Osage bow, wooden arrow & knapped, flint point at 10yds, you can stalk them to 40. Getting close is no problem & 99% of the fun. Ignore their eyes, but beware their ears & nose. The problem is that folks don't realise that a hog's anatomy is totally different from most American game & therefore shoot them waaaay too far back. Keep your shots low & tight to the shoulder & you'll be fine.

  26. If you look at all the views Romney has it screams democrat. He is anti gun, he contributed to Planned Parenthood, he is pro choice and wants mandated healthcare. Obama-care is nothing more than Romney-care on steroids. Jimmy Carter's endorsement of him is very telling as to where Romney sits. Romney is a democrat but people forget this just because he has a ® next to his name. I really wish there wasn't a ® or (D) next to candidates names on the ballot. That way people would vote according to their views and not according to their party line. Dolomite

  27. Ron Paul has the best NRA rating and he's followed by Santorum. Romoney learned his flip-flopping skills from John Kerry, he'll also tell you anything to get elected.

  28. I've watched enough of the debates, and seen enough of the ads to know that Romney is another McCain. If he gets the Republican nomination, we're doomed. I'm tired of the Republican party nominating moderates. I want a true conservative for president and I want a conservative Congress. The Republicans have held both only one time in the past 50+ years. Liberalism had a major role in our nation's current fiscal crisis. I'm for Gingrich or Santorum.

  30. I think that Romney will get more votes as an anti-Obama candidate, as opposed to outright pro-Romney support. I'm afraid we're going to see the same type of phenomena that got Bush re-elected: Kerry was an anti-Bush as opposed to the "best" the Democrats had to offer. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Bush in '04. What I'm getting at is that Kerry wasn't terribly exciting to the Democratic base and didn't drive people to go vote. Romney has the potential to do the same to the Republican vote.

  31. Agree that we are not looking good if these are the best we have. Mitt is a "closet liberal". Newt has a lot of baggage that the Dems will use against him (marriage infidelity, multiple divorses, lobbyist, House record with their banking system, etc) . Ron Paul may be what is needed but too libertarian for too many voters. Rick S is too unknown by too many voters. Besides too many of the voters have a vested interest in keeping Obama and the give-aways and too many others don't have a clue about what is going on/won't learn and vote with their emotions, not brains.

  32. I, for one, agree. The truly intelligent people today seem to have gotten so disgusted with the whole political process that they refuse to become involved. And those that do want to involve themselves are finding that they are not connected with the power structure and have very little possibility of getting elected to a position cable of real change. Until, and unless, a grassroots movement solidifies around a single issue or candidate that is so polarizing as to garner support from all spectrums of people and politics, I fear the worst for us.
