  1. OK; I read over several months’ worth of threads in this section and found some great info. I procrastinated long enough. So I applied for my C&R License. I also read over a good many threads on Mosin Nagants, have become addicted to Hickok 45's flippin' Youtube Channel! What have you people done to me? Ok, I can't turn back now. So I need your help in deciding which Mosin to purchase first. I like the 91/30, but I also like the OAL of the M 44. I don't really think I want a Type 53 after reading about the quality issues, and I know unless I can actually handle the gun in person, it'll be a bit of a risk anytime I order one. I want a Mosin for general shooting, but I'd also like to do some deer hunting with one as well. I may well eventually scope one out, like the discussion in the Affordable scope for Mosin thread. So I need to rely on your expertise here. Any suggestions for a first Mosin? I have a feeling there'll be a few in my future. Anyone handload the 7.62 x 54 R? Suggestions on vendors are welcome and appreciated. (I have several bookmarked to send signed copies of my C&R when it arrives.) Thanks for the help in advance. Also thanks for the new obsession...like I needed one...

  2. I had no idea this went on during September 11th until now. Why wasn't more mentioned about this part? http://www.youtube.c...bed/MDOrzF7B2Kg

  5. Buy a kinetic bulelt puller. Tear the surplus bullets down then replace the bullets with quality pieces as well as the proper powder charge. Should be cheaper than buying quality ammo that is already loaded. Dolomite

  6. "If I assess" Gee, I hope you're right, since your assessment can cost somebody their rights without a trial. I'm gonna shut up now.

  7. What Garufa said, and the 45 Colt can easily be 2x CUP (pressure) rating of the .410 ga Prime Directive - follow the MFG specifications !

  8. No. Do not shoot 45 Colt out of a .410 shotgun. A .410 shotgun has a bore diameter of .410 as the name implies. 45 Colt has a .452-.454 diameter bullet. Seriously bad things could happen.

  9. I have one of these, and it's great for the money. Beat the crap out of a steel target at 600 yards with it. Midway normally puts it on sale for less than 200. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/962234/bsa-tactical-mil-dot-rifle-scope-30mm-tube-6-24x-44mm-side-focus-glass-etched-mil-dot-reticle-matte

  11. Leroy, I liked your post. But I am not sure Obama can overstep his bounds enough to make the freeloaders stay home on election day and certainly not vote against him. But $5 a gallon gas will not work in his favor at all. At least not until the lib's figure out a way to give the welfare class free gasoline. And I really see no differences between republicans and democrats that are in office ,very few if any care about anything other than re-election.

  13. I think the issue is more about usurping the constitution than birth control. When a president wields power that is not given to the office by the constitution (and the other two branches do nothing to stop it) then it is up to the people to bring the three branches of Gov't back in line which is what happened in the congressional races of 2008. The Presidential office does not have the power under the constituion to demand what we have seen over the past several days. If the position does have that kind of power then any presidential administration could demand that we all buy LED TV's and battery cars for energy conservation. Voting is the best way to ensure we have checks and balances.

  14. The effectiveness of voter fraud is not the entire point here. Any voter fraud should be taken very seriously and prosecuted to the full extent. I don't care if someone casts one illegitimate ballot; they should be doing hard time for as long as the law allows. Having a cavalier attitude towards voter fraud only invites more and nullifies our entire system of Government.

  17. Good for you. Taking the time and effort to obtain a carry permit is a big deal. It was not so long ago that only a very few folk’s in Tennessee could only legally carry through some very convoluted means. A lot of people exerted a great deal of effort in order to break through that. Even though Tennessee is a Shall Issue State never forget that your carry permit is a privilege to you and others who have gained them as well. Carry your firearm with maturity and wisdom as well as pride in having earned this privilege to do so.
