In gun circles, my first question is always: “Well who do you plan to talk to? And do they have a radio” if there’s not an immediate need for long range, then HF can wait on the mobile for now. I have a 50 Watt dual band Yeasu 7250 in my vehicle and another one in the house, and that can reach out a good bit across western TN. I would like an HF base eventually, but to me it’s not as pressing

Actually, in the late 30’s-early 40’s, I believe, colt numbered the slides, don’t know exactly when they did, but I have seen slides with numbers. Nothing at all wrong with a mismatched frame/slide, we were just figuring out if the slide was the style that was most likely original to the frame, which it appears to be.

To all ya colt Gubt model military students. There is a s/n on the frame only. More than that; most military guns were rebuilt multiple times. There was no attention paid to matching frames n slides. Miller precision aluminum grip with pinned grip safety, aluminum trigger, magwell. Will fit prodigy, staccato and some other 2011’s. I bought it originally for the Romulus, but I ended up selling that gun. New never used.

It has been stored in heated and air-conditioned space since I bought it and I have used several thousand rounds with zero issues. Not a single hang fire or failure to detonate. The last 2 pictures are one of the boxes I have open but the box I am selling is in the first pictures and still sealed. Inside each box are those smaller boxes as in the next to last picture and the rounds inside are sealed in a plastic bag.
