  2. I asked my grandson about his friend the former Bartlett Police Office and he said he believes he is still doing fencing. I thought I had his number but I don't. I will be seeing my grandson this afternoon and will get a number for you to call if you wish. Have a great Easter Sunday.

  5. Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. Everyone should read them at least once! ~~~ This was an automatic reply ~~~
  6. New to TGO! I am looking for a new home for my super clean 1980 (102-80xxx) Ruger Model 44 Carbine SA with 4 + 1 capacity, 18.5 inch barrel, and Bushnell 3x9 scope with protective caps. Bore is clean and the rifling is strong. Ejection port, action, bluing, walnut stock forearm are all in excellent condition. Check the pictures to see the small amount of wear on the loading trapdoor. The original folding leaf rear sight and sling mounts are all intact. This is a great hunter and shooter. Looking for someone who appreciates the older, well made Rugers and understands their value. $1,100 Prefer to meet in Jackson, TN, but will travel up to 1 hour within TN. Cash only if meeting. Can discuss shipping and payment in PMs. A sale to anyone outside of TN will be shipped to an FFL of your choice. I will require a copy of the FFL. Buyer will pay actual shipping and insurance coverage costs. No handling fees.

  8. Yes, it's a debilitating condition. Symptoms include shrinking safe space, indecision when packing for the range, and an inability to drive past gun stores without stopping.

  15. You may have the same Beretta affliction I do
  16. Finished last night. Got 190 303 Britt brass ready to fire form. Still looking for a cheap 410 shotgun. Guess I'll order the Charles Daily 101 for $120 at Sportsman's Warehouse. Be my luck, order the gun then find one cheaper. I looked at a few Utube videos for reloading hulls without a press. No crimp, paper over card glued in place instead. Will look at more. I forgot today is Easter Sunday and the skeet range most likely will be closed. See if I can find the email and give them a call after lunch. Need to pick up hulls today, overnight rain is in the forecast.
  17. Take a grand for it? It's like the last kid to get picked for dodgeball but his mother still thinks he's wonderful. Let me put him out his misery.
  18. Wonder if it was Tennessee Ammo company? Their reloads could be found everywhere in the Memphis area years ago. Would see less of their products in other areas. They didn't have very good inspection of casings before loading. At one indoor range I returned 21 badly cracked 38spl casings from 3 boxes, my coworker returned 19. A few needed the primer struck a second time to fire. Alabama Ammo company was big in the Nashville area years ago too. Dad bought some from The Reloader's Bench, have never seen it in Memphis. I've seen ammo from another company from Georgia. Some gun show vendors are as bad as flea market vendors. They buy to resale and can't remember where the products came from.

  21. It's all about having the ideal dwell time for gas interacting with your bolt carrier group. Different barrel lengths need different gas systems. Mid-length for 16" guns is generally more tame than traditional carbine length and has become more popular recently, especially if a suppressor is involved. Caleb at Brownell's explains it pretty well:
  22. I have read the Guidelines page and fully understand all the Rules, Terms and Conditions of this site.
  23. I lurked for way too long, finally decided to "bite the bullet" (pun intended) and set up an account. TGO is a great resource, I'm glad to finally be a member.
  24. Gas tube lengths are available in 4 different sizes, pistol, carbine, mid length, and rifle. Couple things to consider when choosing what best suits your needs 1) barrel length, 2) what round your AR is using, such as 5.56 vs .223, 5.56 puts out more gas. 3) is it canned? There's a helpful diagram available with just a short Google that helps a lot.
  25. Most any.
